Where to Order Manhattans in Louisville This February | Eater

"Tucked into the lobby of downtown’s Omni Louisville Hotel, Bob’s is the epitome of the traditional American prime steakhouse. Combining elegance and a lively atmosphere, the restaurant offers flavorful steaks that are hand-selected from the top two percent of USDA prime beef — and cocktails that are equally exceptional. Mark this February as a special occasion with The Black Tie Affair, which features Angel’s Envy Rye Finished in Rum Casks, amer, coffee liqueur, Italian aromatized wine, and black walnut bitters." - Vox Creative

Bob's Steak & Chop House restaurant, situated within the Omni Louisville Hotel in Louisville, pays tribute to Louisville's heritage, showcasing the city's rich history of thoroughbred racing, Muhammad Ali, and the Kentucky bourbon industry through its decor. Our server, Kyle, provided exceptional service; he was always present when needed but unobtrusive, never interrupting our conversations. Thank you, Kyle! The menu offered a wide selection, and our dishes were prepared to order with perfectly timed transitions between courses. Everyone at the table thoroughly enjoyed the steaks, and the side dishes were delicious and ample. From beginning to end, it was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend Bob's Steak & Chop House in Louisville.

Unforgettable Valentine’s Dinner at Bob’s Steak & Chop House My wife and I were in Louisville Kentucky for an educational conference at the Galt House and decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day at Bob’s Steak & Chop House—and what an incredible choice it was! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, striking the perfect balance between upscale elegance and genuine hospitality. The service was impeccable, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. Now, the food—absolutely phenomenal. The steaks were cooked to perfection, rich in flavor, and unbelievably tender. Every bite was a testament to the quality and care that goes into their preparation. The sides were equally impressive, perfectly complementing the main courses. And let’s not forget dessert—pure indulgence! Bob’s Steak & Chop House delivered a dining experience that was nothing short of exceptional. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply craving an outstanding meal, this is the place to go in Louisville. We’ll absolutely be returning the next time we’re in town!

I enjoy stopping in at Bob’s when I am in town as it has been a good place for steaks and their quality has been consistent. This time for drinks I decided to try their signature in house Negroni . Good , strong but different in aftertaste than what I am used to . Appetizers was jumbo shrimp cocktail with a nice hint of horseradish on top . Very good way to start the meal . Main course we chose the New York strip with a side of the skillet fried potatoes (pepper gravy sauce and onions asked on the side ) and a ribeye with smashed potatoes. Both dishes came with the classic glazed carrot . Steaks were grilled to perfection and sides were good . Staff is very attentive and help with any question we had to describe the dish . The restaurant is located on the inside of a hotel which is very nicely lit up and almost modern looking , whereas the restaurant is dark and could use a bit of sprucing up . Definitely will be returning as the food is good and the quality remains consistent

Our first time here we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. The experience was good, but not really amazing. I was expecting more flavor in the steak, but like I said, it was good. We appreciate the incredible attention of our waitress. I don't remember her name but she made us feel very welcome. I recommend this place for more casual events!

Google
My daughter asked for her steak to be medium and it was extremely raw. She sent to back and they cooked it more, however, it was cooked unevenly with the outside over done and still raw in the middle. The worst part though was the amount of fat throughout the steak; it was chewy and hard to cut. For $65 I would expect a lot better quality. Had a 14oz ribeye at Porch the next night that was 100% better for half the cost.

We absolutely loved this restaurant. Our server, April, was over the top amazing! Our food (Redfish and filet) was delicious. We were on a date night and it was the perfect ambiance. I highly recommend.

Google
We had our first experience with Bob's Steak and Chop House recently, and though the service and atmosphere was great, the steak was well done... both times! The bread, salads and sides were excellent, but that steak! And after all, isn't the steak the star of the show? especially for 93.00! It was my husband's birthday and I was disappointed and wanted to leave, but my husband encouraged me to, "let it be." I'm afraid it's my last meal there. BTW, our server and the staff were wonderful, just can't get past that 🥩 steak. I don't know who is cooking those steaks, but most high end restaurants won't even serve a well done steak, this person made one twice! Geez! Stick a fork in me I'm done too.

Our server Antoinette was literally the best my husband and I have ever encountered, truly a gem! She gave us great ideas on what we may like and she was right the food was really good the steaks were so juicy and good. I can’t complain about anything great experience all around.

Yelp
Where to start.... ...This was our first visit to a restaurant on our Louisville KY trip. Good choice. This is on the south side of the hotel (you can reach it from the hotel inside, or from the street as we did. The ambiance is dark woods, lush booths, and just good service. When we arrived, (we had reservations) we were seated in a nice booth and promptly greeted by Keara our server. The maître-d left menus and a darn good wine list. First off was a wine selection - my wife and I both wanted to order a filet, so I went with a red wine - which by my luck, they were out of. I selected another bottle - instead of a St. Supery Dollarhyde, we had a bottle of Post Parade Stretch Drive, which was great. While we were waiting for the entrees, Keara brought out a nice loaf of bread, and a bottle with "sour" pickles and peppers. We split a single pickle and piece of pepper. A better description of them would be "not sweet." They were good, but if you are expecting Sour Patch Kids, it isn't that. My wife actually ended up changing her order to their Filet Trio Combo, which had one filet medallion covered with Truffle Butter, one with chimichurri, and a pepper au-poivre sauce. She ordered it with a baked potato, it also came with a LARGE glazed Carrot. I ordered their 12 ounce Filet with a baked potato and again, a Glazed Carrot which was LARGE. The carrots were quite good, and the baked potato came with a slab of butter, and 4 cups with sour cream, bacon bits, chives and cheddar cheese (grated). Talk about kicking up a baked potato a few notches! The steaks were cooked medium rare as we asked, and were delightful. Very tasty, flavorful, and enjoyable. I already raved about the rest of the meal. Sides (if you order them - we didn't) are "family style" so they are large and sharable. The salads can be ordered in "half" order or you can split a salad. Service was very good, and the food and environment were great. This was a great start to a several day trip in Louisville!

Yelp
If you are into mid steak with little to no flavor, this is your place. Next time I visit Louisville, I'll visit Eddie merlots or another steak house. Atmosphere was pretty dead for a Friday night. Service started off good but then really drifted off as the evening progressed. Could really learn how to prepare and cook a steak. Cocktail was solid! A++

Yelp
So good! Decided to have a little Christmas date night that started here at Bobs for dinner. Classy spot / fine dining / top notch service. My boyfriend had the Prime Ribeye and I had the appetizer scallops with a side of asparagus. Both were wonderful and hit the spot. Service was good and timely. We parked on the street near the hotel. Since this was winter and we had coats, the hostess stand took our coats and hung them in their closet as a convenience rather than us taking them to our table. PS - I saw something in a review or two about "no hats" but there was someone across from us wearing a ballcap.

Yelp
Pros: excellent bone in rib eye, good salad, lobster bisque Service was okay and we were there for a bday celebration so dessert was supposed to be free, however they charged us. Also the smoked old fashion should come with a warning that it is close to $50. 4 ppl and only 1 drink = $400

Yelp
Bob's Steakhouse is located in Omni Hotel. We sat a booth adorned with horse straps and decorative pillows. The ambiance is elegant and it's not overly noisy. Each table starts with red peppers and cucumbers jarred. They're pickled for about five days, so they're still crunchy. There's also bread and butter for the table. For my entree, I ordered a prime filet mignon. Meals are served with a glazed carrot and choice of potato. I chose the smashed. I also ordered a half-size bleu cheese salad. The steak was phenomenal. It was one of the, if not the, best filets I've had in Louisville. The sear was superb. It had a slight crunch to the outside and the inside was perfectly pink. The entire meal was top-notch. The service was stellar. Valet parking is really necessary, but they do validate your parking in the restaurant. If you're looking for a steakhouse, Bob's won't disappoint.

Yelp
Wow. From the apps to the entrees, the service and the set up is great. Very good and we really enjoyed it.

Yelp
Antionette met us with a smile, warm bread and jar of pickles. service was incredible, the steak and those yummy carrots were the best. For no reason I haven't eaten a steak in years and it was made perfect to my liking. We are just in town for few days but we will be back and happy to be served by Antionette again.

Yelp
Service was excellent, great job Nate! Food and drinks were just delicious and such a beautiful atmosphere. Would definitely dine here again.

Yelp
Lovely restaurant with a sports theme. We had a reservation on a Tuesday night while in town for business. We were greeted and seated promptly. We came in from the street so there are steps, but if you come in from the Omni Hotel there are no steps. Bathrooms are near the entrance/hostess and are gender-based. Malaya was our server and she was fantastic - sweet, good sense of humor, and she knows what's up. She was attentive without being intrusive and gave solid recommendations, especially on their homemade desserts. I believe they bake their bread - it was fresh & warm with a crispy outside (which made lots of crumbs) and soft inside - served with a thin slab of butter. It was delicious but messy. There are glass jars on each table with lightly pickled vegetables. Malaya told us that when Bob was a child, the half-sour pickle or sweet pepper would be his snack when he came home from school. We didn't try them but would next time due to the amount of food we ordered. We started with the shrimp appetizer and drinks. All six shrimp were perfectly cooked but the star (to me) was the house-made cocktail sauce with a healthy kick of horseradish - soo good! My salmon dinner was fantastic! I'm not really a potato person, but the skillet potatoes with gravy were outstanding. They were like fat potato chips, still crispy on the outside, flavorful, with a hint of salt. The gravy just kicked them up notch in my book. The giant carrot was tender and the glaze was a nice complement without being overwhelming. Hubby was not happy with his ribeye - he ordered medium rare but received a steak that was quite medium to medium well. Not to waste a good steak, he did eat it rather than send it back, but was disappointed that a steakhouse would overcook a steak (this is the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5). We really wanted dessert but were truly full. We ordered one huge homemade fudgy chocolate cake to go, with forks, which we ate later that night while watching tv. It was more than enough for us and we did not finish it even though we tried lol. When in town again, we would definitely stop back in!

Yelp
The cute pickle jar to start your meal was a pleasant snack. The fresh made bread was a nice complimentary touch. Filet minion was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. Loved the broccolini as well. Antoinette was our server and was very attentive and always coming back to refill our drinks. Our friend stated it was the best Caesar salad she ever had. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
Brian and his staff went out of their way to make our anniversary special , while staying at Omni Louisville. Everyone was very friendly , kind and the food was amazing BOTH times we dined there over our stay . We always celebrate at Bobs, but this location was special , thank you .

Yelp
Sometimes vegans have to visit steakhouses. Like when they are meeting with an important person for work. Or dining with colleagues. Or both. I found myself in such a situation recently, and it was with trepidation that I set foot through the impressive doors of Bob's Steak & Chop House. I needn't have worried. Although the menu itself is limited in regards to plant based options, if one asks, one receives. Once I inquired about the ability to create a vegan entree our server promptly enlisted the assistance of the kitchen. The chef himself visited our table to discuss not only my dietary needs, but also my personal food preferences, stating, "I don't just want to give you vegetables; I want to make something special that you will love." He did. I immensely enjoyed a glorious entree of beautifully seasoned quinoa topped with a variety of expertly prepared vegetables. The house made pickles and bread are also vegan and very delicious. Although I would not choose to visit Bob's on my own, I am now very confident that this is a place anyone can feel welcome and cared-for, regardless of whether they enjoy plants, animals, or even just a really good pickle.

Yelp
Absolutely loved Bob's. I hold every steakhouse standard to my favorite one, Peterson's, on the northside of Indianapolis. This was very close behind, if not tied. They start with bell peppers and pickles in a jar of garlic saltwater brine, so fun and unique, and they gave us bread without having to ask (love). We passed on any apps, since they are mainly seafood and it wasn't the vibe for the evening. My sister and I both got the filet, medium and medium rare. My medium was cooked to perfection (hers was too, she just learned she's actually not a rare fan, because most places overcook it). I got the smashed potatoes, which were yummy and garlicky and a very healthy portion, and my sister got their fried potatoes with gravy (delicious and again, unique). My dad got the shrimp scampi which again, a very healthy portion, and it was delicious. Each entrée comes with the side of "glazed carrot", which I thought was a typo, but it's literally just one big carrot lol- but it was delicious! We got the crème brulee for dessert, which was delicious and creamy!! George was our server and he was wonderfully attentive, very likeable, and checked on us all night! If I ever find myself in Louisville again, I will definitely return!!

Yelp
We were visiting the area from out-of-state and wanted to try a high-end steakhouse. Wow did we pick a winner! Made reservations and were greeted very warmly upon our arrival. They addressed us by name and seated at a great table. Service was top notch and food was amazing. Since traveling, I was trying to eat a bit healthier so they did not use as much sauce and got my potato plain but still the presentation was beautiful and everything tasted magnificent. My friend got a steak and I tried a bit, not much of a meat eater but I could have eaten the entire steak. Will definitely come to Bob's if I'm ever in the area again, highly recommend

Yelp
I ate here twice while in Louisville for work, staying at the Omni. The sourdough bread they serve is so good! The first night I had the lamb chops which came with their smashed potatoes and standard glazed carrot. The bartender hooked me up with a strong and tasty margarita. Everything was excellent and Antoinette my server was sweet and attentive. The second night I was dining by myself again so the host stuck me at a table right by the kitchen, along the walkway to get further back, so I was seen by everyone who came in. I asked to move but he said they were booked. I felt stared at and wasn't happy about this. In being there for over an hour, noted several open tables in various more desirable areas so I was not happy about that. I had the mixed greens salad, seared scallops and the shrimp platter with 3 different styles of shrimp. Everything was excellent and Nate my server was great. If they didn't treat me inferior for dining alone, 3 stars would have been 4.

Yelp
First time to a Bobs. Honestly, in the world of steakhouses, it was mid. I've been to plenty through my life. Skip the calamari. The pieces were small and overcooked. I had a tomato and mozzarella salad: fine, nothing notable either way. The beef was average, I had a NY strip. I've had better at lower priced chain restaurants. The bernaise sauce was watery and flavorless. Service was on point, no concern there. Location worked for the group I was with. If I were to have to go to a steakhouse in Louisville, I'd try somewhere else.
google avatar

Yelp
Grabbed a bite at their bar and it did not disappoint. Fantastic selection of whiskey, including some Bob's only selections. Higher priced, but very high quality. Ordered the salmon and it was great too, but the whiskey was the star of the show.

Yelp
We decided to try Bob's for our anniversary this year as we wanted something new. We had heard mixed reviews from friends about Bobs but I'm glad we finally decided to try it for ourselves. We had a reservation and we were seated as soon as we arrived which I appreciated. It's kind of a pet peeve of mine when you have to wait to be seated even though you have a reservation. I know sometimes it's out of the restaurants control but it is preferable if they're able to keep things moving well enough that reservations don't have to wait. The first thing that we noticed when we arrived was how friendly everyone was. The hostess to the server and the food runners were all exceptionally welcoming. The restaurant itself was very pretty and was the perfect setting for a nice date night. It wasn't too loud which was great for conversation. We each started with an appetizer, I had the Crab Cake and my husband had the shrimp cocktail. My crab cake was delicious with huge chunks of lump crab and a nice honey mustard sauce on the side. The shrimp cocktail came with 5 huge shrimp which my husband thoroughly enjoyed. Next we each had salads, Caesar for my Husband and the mixed greens for me. Mine was awesome. It had goat cheese, apples, dried cranberries, spicy candied pecans and a champagne vinaigrette. We both ordered steaks and both were perfectly cooked. I liked the nice hard sear on my filet. I chose the fried potatoes with pepper gravy and my husband chose the mashed potatoes and we both agreed that I made the better choice. The mashed potatoes were fine but the fried were delicious. Both steaks came with their signature glazed carrot and that was to die for. I know it seems odd to some to have a jumbo carrot on the plate but the marinade and glaze on them is fantastic. I really like that the steaks come with both the carrot and a potato option. For dessert we were given a complimentary chocolate peanut butter brownie sundae which was great and a very nice treat for our anniversary. The cocktail I had was also really delicious. We would definitely visit Bob's again for another meal or even just cocktails!

Yelp
The food was amazing but the people were the real stars of this place! April was so sweet and her recommendations were spot on. We had the filet medallions with some great sauce and the Brussels sprouts! Wow! We will be back!

Yelp
My first time at Bob's was definitely not my last! The steak was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The service and atmosphere top notch. A must go spot for an excellent steak or a romantic dinner.

Yelp
This steak house is located in the beautiful Omni Hotel. The moment you walk in you know you are in a traditional high end steak house. We were greeted immediately, and the manager made sure we were seated promptly. The wait staff was polite and well trained. The food arrive quickly. Well, we are from California and when a jar of pickles was placed on the table, I wanted to eat it, my wife scolded me to make sue I don't eat the table decor. The waitress assured it is indeed an appetizer, lightly pickled with Bob's family recipe. I ate one and it is absolutely delightful. We ordered the crab cake appetizer, my wife was shocked it's real crab meat and she thought the mustard dressing was delicious. I ordered the ribeye. It is a very special cut of beef with decadent marbling, very rich in flavor. It is a steak lover's dream. And they are not afraid to season the food here and I loved it. I politely declined to try my wife's salad topped with salmon. When the waitress offered desert menu, I had the correct answer yes, for my wife's benefit. We were both in shock when a massive, I mean 2 pounds, slice of cake came to the table. It was moist and delicious but there is no way we can fish this. We are overall extremely satisfied and I would absolutely recommend it. Price wise it is in line with a high end steak house.

Yelp
Bob's Steak & Chop house was amazing! The food & service were great. The ambience is chill. We definitely will be back!

Yelp
Great place to eat, the atmosphere was warm and charming, the service was great, we were seated fast, food came out in order, was a very good wedge salad, and the steaks, out of this world, we had just came back from Las Vegas and ate at Gordon Ramsay's steak house, we the steak at this steak house was much better, had lots of flavor, cooked to perfection, now it received a 4 star for one reason, what is up with this carrot?, it was just weird, it had good flavor, a bit to hard, and way too big, see the pictures, other then that great place

Beth F.

Yelp
Everything was perfect Great food, great service competitive prices. They aim to please

Yelp
Had dinner here on our last night in Louisville while staying at the Omni. It was an eerily quiet Thursday night and we were one of the only guests in the restaurant. This didn't damper our experience at all though. The service was great and extremely attentive. The lobster bisque was some of the best i've ever had. I had the lobster tail with creamed corn for dinner and my husband had the filet mignon with mashed potatoes. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. I especially loved the glazed carrot accompaniment. We were so full, we skipped dessert, but would absolutely come back next time we're in town!

Yelp
We got: Thick cut bacon Crab cakes Prime ribeye Gravy potatoes Filet Mignon Baked potato Edible items: Free bread Steaks Crab cakes Inedible items: HORRIBLE bacon Potatoes - so greasy Sweet sour carrot Our server was nice but service was slow. I would never go back here sadly.

Yelp
Fabulous food and atmosphere!!! I would go back if I lived in Louisville. !!!
google avatar

Laura R.

Yelp
The ambiance is elegant and lovely for a night out. The appetizers were tasty. The wait staff was friendly and very helpful. The steak is well seasoned and well cooked. This is a place for an expense account. The creamed spinach-which is always the reason to go to a steakhouse-was excellent!!! I would recommend that and the mac and cheese. It is old style creamed spinach. Delicious! The drinks are also creative and tasty.
google avatar

Kathy E.

Yelp
We ordered dessert from here and it was beyond excellent! There was more than the two of us could eat, it was a definite two day two people dessert! It was some of the best chocolate cake I've had! The service was awesome and the ambiance was definitely a place where couples could go and have a great experience!
google avatar

P S.

Yelp
It's just "ok" And for a high end restaurant it needs to get better. Yes, the service was fine! But all the food was just "ok". We had quite a few different things and nothing jumped. I'd take a hard pass and go to another steak place in town. As a benchmark, I'd rather go to a Ruth's Chris !
google avatar

Yelp
The best reason to stay at the Omni in Louisville is easy access to Bob's. But don't stay away if you are a local or staying elsewhere, the steaks here are superb. I got a wedge salad and a bone in cut, I believe a filet, I think the 12 oz, rare, of course. It was superb, full of rich, beefy flavor, some of the best steak I've had. For dessert I had the chocolate cake and it was delicious. Would definitely order again. The wine list was mostly California Cabernet, so I asked my server to recommend me something that had some old world heft, with earth and tobacco notes, rather than a new world fruit bomb. They picked out a 2015 super Tuscan beauty, Valadorna, which fit the bill perfectly. You should try it if you like Bordeaux over California Cab. Cocktails are solid, service was very friendly, the atmosphere is old school steakhouse, and the experience was flawless. I would definitely eat here again when I return to Louisville.

Yelp
Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. Very tough to beat this place if you're looking for a high end steak.

Yelp
Highly disappointed in everything. Service was awful. I'm talking... our waitress was straight up RUDE. Awfully rude. I was taken aback when she responded to me with such disdain and such an attitude that I almost got up and left. The ribeye was less than desirable. The only thing that was worth it were the skillet fried potatoes. Will not be back ever.

Louisville K.

Yelp
I'm a cancer patient and wear hats to cover my head. Your restaurant told me I couldn't eat there and had to take off my hat. I've been to EVERY steakhouse in Louisville and none of them told me to take off my hat. Literally got denied from your restaurant and went over to the new steak and bourbon and had a fantastic dinner WITH my hat. They deserved my $500 tab. Pathetic to still make people remove their hats to eat.
google avatar

Mark D.

Yelp
Good, service, and ambience were all superb. The one cocktail I enjoyed was well-prepared and generously poured. Steak was perfectly cooked and sides were good portions of straightforward, tasty food. Great selection.
google avatar

Dean H.

Yelp
Excellent steak. Fantastic and flexible service. Cozy and still upscale atmosphere. Pass on the carrot. Thanks.

Yelp
Best service and food I have had in a very long time! Online menu differs slightly than what they do have in the kitchen, but service, drinks, ambience and food was above and beyond. Roy is an absolute delight ask for him as your waiter if you make reservations!
google avatar

Kim Gordon S.

Yelp
if you want a good steak, it's a good place. if you want a great dining experience, it's a great place! Kiera was an exceptional waitress. The manager Alicia went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. When visiting, don't forget to check out their speak easy with bowling alley. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I really like a good steak - ribeye and porterhouse are my favorites. There was no porterhouse on Bob's menu so I went with the ribeye, and was underwhelmed with the quality of the meat and it's preparation. The ribeye is known to be a cut with more fat than most, which is fine, especially when it produces tenderness from the marbling. The steak I had tonight left about 20-25% inedible gristle and chunks of fat on my plate, and the meat itself was not very tender. Additionally, the seasoning was overwhelming and detracted from the ribeye's naturally great flavor. As for the service, I have no complaints - while not overly attentive, they were helpful and made some nice recommendations. The ambiance was so noisy I had a hard time communicating with the server.

Yelp
This is a mixed review. This was an anniversary dinner. There were some plusses, but also a negative. First, we were early. The restaurant was empty. The restroom was locked. No staff at the desk. Bartender came over to greet us. I guess we looked lost. OK, it was the day after Christmas. Atmosphere was sophisticated. Impressed with our server, Kyle. Very personable and professional. I had a salad with Blue Cheese and hard boiled egg. It was very tasty. Bread was served promptly. Warm. Nice. The pickles were way too big. Waste. Table brushed after salad. Nice. I had rack of lamb. Outstanding. Potatoes served as side were inedible. Way too overdone. Is anyone testing the food before it goes out? Should have been obvious. The oversized carrot tasted good, but just odd, it was so big. My husband had filet. Said it was the best he ever had. Melt in your mouth good. Received an unexpected anniversary present--a warm brownie ala mode. Nice touch. Overall a very good meal. We will go back--primarily because our entrees were excellent as well as the service.

Yelp
OMG, our meal other night was exceptional in every way. The service was impeccable, the food delicious, and the executive chef Paul was outstanding. We couldn't possibly say enough good things about him, the rest of the staff, or the food. Highlights of the meal included my med rare Kansas City strip, I only eat red meat maybe once every few months, the sides were fab, signature pickles/peppers on table and loved the signature carrot! #chef #cook #dining #eating #food #TheOmni #Louisville #Blessed #SpoiledLife #Love #Princess #OnlyTheBest #NeverSettleForLess #MakeYourOwnLife #CreateTheLifeYouWant #luxelife9

Yelp
I made a reservation on 11/2/2021 for 8:15pm. I arrived at the Omni Hotel at 7:55pm and I was greeted by the valet attend. He handed me a parking receipt and advised me to get it stamped before leaving the restaurant. If not, parking would cost me $27. Since I was early, I decided to visit the Speak Easy and have a tasty beverage. The Speak Easy had a comfortable fee, amazing decor with plenty of seating, a bowling alley and I nice size bar that could seat about 8 people. I ordered an Old Fashion w/Maker's Mark. To my surprise, my glass arrived half full. The drink was just ok, nothing special but definitely not worth the $18. After finishing my dixie cup size drink, I headed over to the dinning area to be seated. The host was really kind and professional and he walked me to my table upon my arrival to the host stand. It took a little time for my waiter to arrive at the table to greet me. Maybe 8 minutes. Once he arrived, he walked me through the day's special. I ordered another Old Fashion w/Maker's Mark, a caesar salad w/crumbled Blu cheese (on the side), Ribeye Pittsburgh seared medium and the Smashed potatoes. The salad took a little time to find its way to the table. The crumbled Blu cheese was not on the side and the caesar salad was just ok. Nothing special, more on the bland side. Several minutes (20) went by and I began wondering where in the heck are they getting this Ribeye from. After about 25 minutes, the Ribeye arrived to the table along with the Smashed potatoes and a carrot so big it could have been entered into a food serving size contest. The Ribeye was prepared PERFECTLY! Well seasoned , tender and juicy. The Smashed potatoes arrived cold and they had an awful gravy taste to them. I informed my waiter but we went back and forth on what I was tasting (me) vs his explanation of how the Smashed potatoes are prepared. After trading a few barbs back and forth, he offered to replace my potatoes but I declined. Those championship carrots had some type of maple glaze on them and they were.... Well, wasted. I finished as much of my steak as I could and requested a to go container. My waiter sat the container on the table and he didn't even offer to box things up. While boxing up my left over steak, I was expecting to learn about the desserts of the day but I got nothing... In summary: the Speak Easy is a nice comfortable alternative seating area but the drink prices are ridiculously over price for the pour you get. The restaurant dinning area was spacious but the room felt like a banquet hall that was set up for seating people to eat. Nothing special and not well decorated. The drink on the restaurant side was much better and larger in size. The bread was warm and pretty good, the salad was bland, the steak was awesome, the carrots were left on a plate and the potatoes were left to soak up the gravy or whatever they had in them. The meal was a welcomed experience for my traditional dining places but the drinks, food the service; at those prices, it would be hard for me to go back.

Yelp
I am so glad I settled on spending time with Good ole Bob. Service was excellent. Ambiance and decor- superb. The old flag, with 48 States- a most enjoyable historical touch. And the food? Delectable. Dessert? The carrot cake is heavenly. It is not often you have a dinner experience where all your expectations are met. Partly because we, ourselves, often leverage unrealistic expectations. Well in this case, Bob pulled it off. All expectations met. In the spirit of the Mortal Combat reboot: Flawless Victory!

Yelp
Pretty much your standard steakhouse. Nothing stellar or amazing that stands out. Located inside the Omni hotel, but I will say the entrance is rather mellow in appearance. You wouldn't know you were going into a restaurant necessaily. Service was overall decent. They bring out nice bread prior to the meal. Soups and salad were edible. Sadly they were out of a few menu options and there was not a seafood special. The crabcake entree was okay but it was served lukewarm which was a shame. I swapped out the MASSIVE (and I do mean MASSIVE) potato side with brussel sprouts which were pretty good. Glad I made that choice. The carrot side was also rather tasty. Desserts were very good. The bread pudding was awesome and the carrot cake was huge and very good!

Yelp
Really good experience and a great way to celebrate a special occasion! My wife and I came to Bob's for an early Valentine's dinner date and they took great care of us. Everyone we encountered was personable, friendly, and ready to serve us. Our waiter was great with explaining the menu and even told us he wouldn't order a certain dish when we asked about it. It was jarring at first but refreshing to hear his honesty and gave him a trustworthiness that he was all about taking care of us, rather than selling us something. I ordered the filet with skillet potatoes. Everything was excellent! The filet was cooked perfectly, butter-soft, and delicious. The carrot glaze had just the right hint of citrus. The gravy on the skillet potatoes was warm and comforting. They also start the meal with a huge round loaf of bread that is warm, fresh, soft, and gone in about 5 minutes! The atmosphere and decor is really cool as well. Everything is intentionally Louisville-themed, from boxing to bats, and horses to hot-browns. Overall we had a special dinner and the price was definitely justified by the level of food and service we experienced.

Yelp
What a fabulous addition to Louisville! Everything from Bob's was top notch, from the service to the food. My husband surprised me with a birthday dinner here and I was very glad this was his pick! We walked into the beautiful Omni to find Bob's entrance down a well decorated hallway. We were greeted immediately by the two hostess, and even had a happy birthday from them. They do offer coat check and so we did utilize this service. After we were shown to our seats, our welcoming server Kyle joined us with waters and reviews today's daily dishes. While we were looking over the menu, Kyle dropped off a large loaf of bread that he mentions gets flown in from Texas half baked and they finish baking at the restaurant. How unique and the bread was very tasty. You have a soft crunch on the outside with a sponge like texture in the middle, so good! We tried a few cocktails and then ordered a wedge salad and the lobster bisque with the main entrees as the filet and duck. The large bowl of lobster bisque was so good, I would come back just for that! Smooth and rich tasting, perfect starter (and I even dipped a few pieces of the rich bread in it). The wedge salad was also filling with a delicious dressing on it. We were already almost full before the main entrees came! Wow, I'm not sure what they put on the filet but it had such a crisp to the outside but perfectly pink in the middle. And the carrot that comes with it might just look like a regular carrot but the glaze and softness of it was perfect. I enjoyed the smashed potatoes over the skillet fried potatoes but both were enjoyable. The duck was cooked nicely, with some fat on it. The food was lovely but couldn't finish it all, so they graciously boxed it for us. And our dear server Kyle brought me a key lime pie slice to go as well. I was so full he brought a lit candle for me to blow out as well. We had a wonderful time at Bobs and would love to go back.

Yelp
I've dined at the original Bob's in Dallas and had a spectacular experience. Great drinks, food and service. Same when I dined at the San Francisco location. As I was staying at the Omni, picking Bob's (which is in the hotel's lobby) for dinner was an easy choice. I was seated promptly and was delighted to have an amazing server: Antoinette. This restaurant has been open for about a year. I was surprised how many of my local peers who've dined here didn't have a great experience. So I start with a cocktail. Bob's knows how to make monster martinis! Doubles for sure. You can never have too much Blue Cheese. So I order the Blue Cheese Salad! I'm from Kansas City, so I gotta order the Kansas City Strip. I asked for medium rare. But it came out rare. I found the plating to be odd. Usually the steak comes out on its own plate. Were they running short on plates? Why don't steakhouses ask you to cut the steak when first served to confirm it's cooked as requested. That way they could more quickly fix a problem. So when my server stops by, I flag the under-cooked steak. I was surprised she removed the steak and left me the potato and the signature Bob's carrot. Six to eight minutes later, my re-fired steak appears. Shouldn't a high-end steakhouse be able to cook such a steak right the first time? To compensate for how my meal went off the track with the re-fired steak, my server bought me dessert, which was a nice measure. I guess it just an off night for me at Bob's in Louisville. Fortunately, I've experienced when it's right in their other locations.
