Hands down a winner- will return! Lovingly prepared, authentic and fresh, proudly served Portuguese delights. A modern appearance with a neighbourhood feeling. Delicious tapa, excellent wine well matched to the fare, and attentive service. Friendly chef, knowledgeable staff, and welcoming clientele. Affordable and easy to get a table. Convenient in Le Plateau. Everyone welcome- families, people of every background who enjoy fantastic food and easy camaraderie.

WOW! What an unexpected treat. On a tour of Canada and we find this amazing place on our 2 night here!!! The rest of Canada has a lot to live up to 😄😁 I had the Pork and Port sauce and my wife had the fish of the day (sea bass). Both were amazing. And to finish the chocolate mouse was devine The host was attentive and very welcoming Thanks. I'm sure we will see you again before we leave Montreal 😜😜

Enjoyed our first visit so much. Great food, wine and service! I recommend the octopus salad and codfish croquettes. It was fresh, flavourful and the octopus was very tender. Overall a pleasant experience. Would definitely come back to try more items on the menu!

Was such a great first visit! Servers gave incredible service, food was delicious, fresh, and unique. It was also quite affordable for the quality and quantity of food we received. We left full, and super satisfied and spent about $65 / pp on a 3 course seafood-based meal with wine for 2. Servers knew a lot about the wine regions of Portugal as well which really impressed us!

ANDY MF'N ACES MAN! What an amazingly unexpected awesome night. Andy is fantastic and a great host. Some really cool historical pictures in the place too. We were so busy chatting I forgot to take many pictures of the food but everything was delicious. I had the paella, my wife had the whole fish. We also got the special croquettes. Loved them all. The food is great, but the place is just a whole vibe. If you drink with Andy he'll show you magic tricks - even if you don't drink with him he'll talk your ear off about the Eagles. FLY EAGLES FLY!

Cozy Portuguese tapas restaurant in the heart of Plateau of Montreal. They serve tapas and meals to keep you full. Food was delicious and fairly priced. They had a good selection of Portuguese wine. And the owner was very friendly and explained everything to us. Definitely want to try their lunch menu next time as it changes from lunch to supper!

We were a party of 6 and everyone enjoyed their meals. 2 of us chose tapas style and selected several small plates; the grilled octopus was tender and tasty, the clams were so sweet and delicious you had to dunk bread in the juices at the bottom of the bowl. We had two types of croquettes cod which was so light and airy and beef which was fresh and flavorful. And finally we had the daily special of crispy octopus salad which was tender, plentiful and satisfying. The others enjoyed main entrees . Which included steak and rice and seafood. The restaurant is pretty, spacious and the staff is welcoming. We recommend giving it a try.

Yelp
Recently, we celebrated my parents' anniversary at Boca Iberica, and here's a quick review on this cozy Portuguese spot we loved. Ratings -- Food: 9/10 Price: 8/10 Interior: 9/10 Service: 8/10 We kicked things off with some appetizers, and honestly, they nailed it. The fried calamari came in these fry-like shapes instead of the usual rings -- kinda different, but pretty cool! The octopus salad was super tasty, but a bit oily for my taste (small portion, though, so not a huge deal). Codfish fritters were good and hit the spot! The garlic shrimp was so good we had to get a second round, and the Chouriço of the day was on point too. For mains, we went with the seafood rice and salted cod. The seafood rice was packed with flavor and super satisfying. The cod was solid too, classic Portuguese style. The vibe inside was cozy and just right for a family dinner. Service was friendly. Overall, it was a great night, and I'd definitely go back for more!

Yelp
If you're not interested in crowded places and long lines at restaurants on St. Laurent, consider walking 20 meters down Rue Rachel for a more quiet, relaxed meal (and also delicious) at Boca Iberica. Your menu is on blackboards. Lunch includes either soup or salad and coffee. everyone at my table got the grilled pork medallions, which were really flavorful. These were accompanied by seasoned fries which were obviously hand-cut. There's a great ambiance here, and your servers are the owners, very enjoyable people with whom to converse. Dining here was an enjoyable experience.

Yelp
don't let the outdated reviews affect your decision. I can say that Boca Iberica has not declined in any way whatsoever since the earliest review this page has. While there isn't much online presence, the restaurant is absolutely amazing from service to food to ambiance. We came in Tuesday for lunch. For lunch, the menu is on the blackboard. You choose which protein you'd like and they give it as a combo with soup or salad and coffee. Love this since it's such a simple approach (feels like a hole in the wall cafe) but still provides enough options to choose from. For dinner, they provide a standard menu. Everything is fresh so they customize certain dishes based off what they had delivered day of. Service is 10/10. The owner himself served us and constantly kept us engaged and answered all our questions. The lunch was so much more enjoyable with his service. He told us about his family history and the restaurants history as well as gave recommendations for Portuguese restaurants in the US. Food 9/10: every dish impressed. I only give a 9 because the arctic char was not deboned and the clams in white wine sauce was a bit salty. All the food tasted amazing though. My favorite was the Seafood Rice. This is an absolute must try if you stop by. The rice was aromatic and really soaked in all the flavors of the seafood. It was wonderfully but not overly seasoned. I would come back just to eat this again. The lamb shank was also notably good! Fell right off the bone. All the other dishes were great as well. Ambiance (10/10) very clean and honestly surprisingly upscale! I figured it would be more authentic and down to earth but the restaurant actually gives modern chic. This place would be perfect for a date night.

Yelp
Another marvelous meal today ! A light seafood broth with a hint of fresh mint smoothes your palate for the delicacies to come ... The delicacy this time were sweetbreads flambé. How to describe these tender morsels with a slightly crunchy crust in a smooth creamy sauce ? Exceptional !!!

Yelp
Went at this place for a private party for my friend's birthday. A lot of great food! Everything you're expecting from a Portuguese restaurant but with a Spanish-Tapas touch! Chicken was very good and so were the sardines and various seafood salads! Enjoy!

Yelp
The best place for seafood tapas. Portions are generous, so come hungry. Exceptional service from the staff.

Yelp
Good food but GLACIAL service. Hours to get your dinner. We waited 40 minutes for two scallops and the place wasn't even crowded.

Yelp
Went here to catch a soccer game, they weren't open but others were in there. Fantastic fun. Decided to eat there, had cod fritters, crudo, octopus, and scallops! Spectacular! The chef was sure friendly, learned a lot from him regarding food and Portugal. Great experience, will definitely be returning when back in Montreal.

Yelp
We discovered this place with a voucher - but would definitely go back. Food : very tasty. The ingredients are of good quality. We ordered the octopus, chorizo, mussels as appetizers and they were all very satisfying. The main dishes are well seasoned and the portions are perfect. I'd suggest the typical Portuguese dessert served in a verrine - exquisite. Their wine list is short, but definitely delivers. Service : our waitress was very attentive and took good care of us. Service was A+ Decor : very simple and modern. Friendly-romantic atmosphere This place is appropriate for both small and large groups.

Yelp
Really enjoyable options for lunch. Good quality though portions are a bit too large - they harm my afternoon productivity!!! Guess I should have discipline to pack up leftovers ;-) Looking forward to trying this place for dinner as well.

Yelp
This is a great place for a romantic dinner. Great wine and cocktails. The service was awesome and the decor is warm and quaint. The food was delicious. They serve mainly seafood but have other selections as well. Get the half baked cookie for dessert!

Yelp
The meat was terribly hard. The cappacio was lacking flavor. The bread was not fresh. I would not recommend this restaurant .

Yelp
Ended up going to Boca Ibercia by chance. Waiter was always there to serve...he was exceptionally friendly and recommended a red wine that turned out to be fantastic. we decided to go with a few tapas instead of ordering main dishes super great idea the octopus was very very good and tender the rapini was fantastic and the stuffed calmar was nice. the atmosphere was very friendly and deafened we will be paying another visit to Boca Ibercia. I recommend the restaurant and there's a nice terrace.
