A 57-Year-Old Suburban Pizza Legend and Two More Closures - Eater Chicago

"Boca Loca Cantina, a Mexican restaurant, permanently closed on Tuesday, October 31 after a year. The location previously housed an outpost of Hutch, which in 2018 replaced Cantina 1910." - Naomi Waxman

Despite the mixed reviews, which center on portion size more than anything, I can't get enough of this place. I'm a bit of a 2 trick pony when it comes to the menu. I'm all birria tacos and tamarindo margaritas. That being said, hard for me to imagine they don't pay the same level of attention to rest of their menu. If you're in the neighborhood, give them a try. I'm glad I did. Also, walk-up paleta window. #IllBeBack

Great lunch on the patio yesterday! Our puppy Wilson got some warm rice & chicken too! Loved the Carne asada breakfast! And the margaritas pitcher was delicioso!!! Coming back soon!! Thank you!!

I wish I could give this place 10 stars. We stopped by for an early dinner today on our first full day in the city and from the second we walked in, we felt so welcomed. Our waiter Rich was beyond kind, attentive, and single-handedly made our time here one of my favorite dinning experiences ever. On top of the A++ service, the food was FANTASTIC. Get the Quesabirria tacos and a shot of Pineapple-Jalapeño infused tequila, thank me later. Cannot wait for our next trip to Chicago, this will be our first stop.

Great experience! Food was delicious. Prices were decent, and cocktails were great. The perfect amount of strength for price paid. Nice outdoor seating area and appreciate that the inside has open air windows to the outside. Have been back several times now. I wish they would have mentioned the rewards program earlier or had signage since I missed out on a couple meals from not knowing. Prices are ok. Portions could be a tad better.... but it is good to go during happy hour or when there is a deal like the taco night. Still a favorite spot and I share with my friends. Went again recently and really disappointed that they removed the 'Haz Tu Benedict ' from the brunch menu. It was my favorite , so will have me visit less since their brunch menu is smaller now and the options are not very unique and similar to other places.

If you want a nice Mexican meal, this place will not disappoint. The drinks, the burrios, and the tacos were excellent. Will dine here again if in the area.

Don't let my fantastic photography fool you!! Ok let's start with the really cute cantina vibe. Bright and attractive decor. But honey I'm here for the food! This was hands down the worst Mexican food I have ever had. I ordered the chicken fajitas and they were SUPER dry and had absolutely no flavor or seasoning at all. Usually the meat in fajitas is cut in strips, this meat was small and medium dice. There were more peppers and onions than chicken. I ate all 4 fajitas and was still hungry afterwards. 😩 I also ordered pineapple juice that was served warm over exactly 2 ice cubes. The whole experience sucked. During happy hour they sell $6 margaritas 🍹. Chile I guess they need you really drunk to think your eating some tasty Mexican food. NOT!!! Oh and the guacamole was disgusting. The Pico was so bland and boring too! I spent $26 on a prison meal! Don't waste your tastbuds on this place!!

Delicious drinks!! Jordan the bartender is super awesome, knows her drinks and so fun to chat with. We only got drinks - a paloma and a hibiscus mezcal serrano syrup, tajin rim drink, that was uber delicious. We even got their house marinated jalapeño pineapple Jose cuervo tequila shot and let me tell you it's sooo yum, fabulous sipping tequila. It's so smooth, it's scary. Lol Definitely have to get food next time, coz it smelled so good.
