I have been a loyal patron of Bocelli for many years, going back to when Nick was the owner. Under his management, the restaurant was organized, welcoming, and well-staffed. The food was consistently delicious and full of flavor, and the ambiance felt like stepping into Nonna's house--warm, rustic, and authentic. Service was always delivered with a smile, and my favorite dish, the Mussels and Calamari Fra Diavolo, used to be $25--a fair price for such quality.
Since the new owners took over, however, the restaurant has lost its direction. The staff are often rude, the food has declined significantly, and the once-charming ambiance now feels forgettable. Shockingly, my usual dish now costs $35.95--a price that simply does not reflect the quality or experience. Bocelli has become a "hole in the wall" with inflated prices. For comparison, Turner's Seafood in Melrose offers nearly the same menu, including the Mussels and Calamari Fra Diavolo, for just $25--and theirs is far superior.
At this price point, the meal is not worth it. I cannot recommend Bocelli in its current state and will not return unless prices are reduced and quality restored. The restaurant has clearly lost many loyal customers, and it's easy to see why business is struggling.
