The 26 Best Restaurants In Lima - Lima - The Infatuation
"Bodega Carbone is a century-old, cash-only Italian-Peruvian sanguchería, café, bar, and a cult hit—and there’s not even a sign out front. Vintage spirits and wine bottles line the shelves, and there are original tile floors and high ceilings that set the stage for pork legs marinated with a blend of chili peppers, spices, and chicha de jora or vinegar for a tangy touch. The star is the jamón del país sandwich, and the deep-fried pejerrey sandwich (they’ll substitute another fish if it's offseason). Ask for the sarza criolla on the side, or a version with lima beans or chickpeas to go with it, plus a cup of strong drip coffee. Or stay longer with a cold beer, from morning to late afternoon." - paola miglio

100-year old bodega making sandwiches with their in-house bread and cured meats. It’s an institution. You won’t regret a quick lunch stop here.

Local place that is known for its pork sandwiches aka Sandwich de País!
Portion of the sandwich is big and it's quite delicious, be sure to add some picante or salsa to give it an extra kick.
We decided to have their garbanzos salad and Inca cola.
Ambiance is rustic and the service is good.
Plenty of indoor seating.
Overall great local find and reasonable

A little dated, but has this nostalgic feeling of a bygone era.
The food is good, we had fish and ham sandwiches, and inexpensive.
The toilets are letdown though.

There best days are behind them. Pork was relatively dry and the spread they put in the sandwich added little flavor.
