Bodega Trapiche

I went to four wineries in Mendoza and this might have been my favorite. We didn’t do a tour but we did the three course lunch with the wine pairings and it was just lovely! The food was exceptional and beautiful and the wine was perfectly paired. It was incredibly affordable for what we got (even if we didn’t take advantage of the blue rate). A number of the staff spoke really great English. You can pay with cash or card.

Good tour, informative guide and decent selection of wines to taste. Worth booking the premium tour (+90) as you get two more glasses to taste, above the three standard glasses. The premium wines are also better, naturally! Restaurant is good too for lunch.

Beautiful tasting grounds, and very informative tour (given in Spanish). Tons of cool history here. The wine tasting was delicious - I especially liked the Cabernet franc. Staff was friendly and helpful. Lunch was not only delicious, but each lunch course came paired with a wine.

The tour was a bit of a mixed bag. The building itself is impressive. The wines we tried (4 wines for 1500) were pretty good. The main problem is that the tasting size was miniscule. There was around 15 people doing the tasting, the guide opene always a new bottle and gave everyone so little that still at the end was left with 1/3 of the bottle. Then they take the bottle away, obviously the staff drinks it whereas it should be left to the tour guests for that high price they pay. Second problem is wasting everyone's time by upselling their restaurant where they want you to spend more money, introducing the chef etc, that was all a bit cringy. There was a loong pause between the tour and the degustation so the whole thing took almost 2 hours.

Beautiful winery with great guides and tour. The wines were delicious. We had Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc as well as two Malbecs from different regions in Mendoza. Also the wines in the wine shop are very affordable. I highly recommend this winery and experience.

If you are 2 persons and want a perfect combination, you must try the menu with 7 wines paired with food(all wines are only high quality wines, the top line) and the menu with 3 courses paired with 3 wines. The first menu has the best wines and the second has a lot of food for 1 person and good wines. the second menu has very stylish/gourmet food paired with perfect wines. the menu is different deepening on the season. This menu was for autumn 2018.

Great history but poor service. A place with a lot of history, but that remains in debt for the service. They raised our entrance fee by 20% and justified by the change in the exchange rate, but It didn’t happen to us anywhere else in Mendoza.

We started the visit with a lunch (three corses) paired with wines. People are very friendly. The wines were not that good as the food. The wine tour through the winery was desapointing as well as the wine tasting.

Trapiche is possibly the largest operation in Maipu and it definitely feels more like a large scale commercial operation than a small family winery. The tour and tasting was informative but if you are short on time and are able to visit other smallest wineries, this is perfectly ok to skip. The one benefit of visiting Trapiche is you get access to some bottles that don't even make it to the US and they're definitely producing much higher quality wines than the Malbec you see in Costco.

I booked one of the Holland America tours to Bodega Trapiche and glad I did as I would have never located it on my own. Its location is remote and the roads to it pot holed and bumpy. I got to try 3 of their wines and have to say I found them to be particularly good. I also had a chance to roam the grape fields to sample various verities of their grapes. Though I enjoyed it, I think the tour price of $150 was a little stiff for what I got.

Had a decent enough time. The grounds and the building are beautiful. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The wines we tried were pretty good, not mind blowing. The thing that this place missed for us was the passion and heart that smaller bodegas had. Ar$150 gives you a tour and tasting of 3 wines. A bit on the expensive side in our opinion.

Have been here twice. The first time I came with a group for a tour of the bodega and for the three course meal with wine. The empanadas were great and the steak was out of this world good. The wine pairings with the food were very good. The second time I came with my family and we had lunch, 5 courses with 7 different wines. Each course of food and wine pairing was thoughtfully chosen to emphasize the foods that were in season. Most of the food served in the restaurant is organically grown in their own gardens. The service was impeccable. The restaurant manager is a real gem!!! The "gift shop" offers a range of wines from Trapiche's mid price brands to it's top quality wines. There is definitely a range from the top to the low end. If you want to treat yourself buy wines from the Medalla selection.
