"Lovingly restored buildings in a beautiful bucolic setting make dining here a memorable experience. The surrounding gardens, meadows and river provide the vegetables, fruits, herbs and fish that are used so respectfully and expertly by the classically trained kitchen; all complemented by an impressive wine cellar. The chef's philosophy of using local ingredients will be explained to you by the excellent service team." - Michelin Inspector

Twelve Hotels With Sights Set on Sustainability

"An old timber farm and sawmill that traces its earliest roots to the 16th century, the quaint Boen Gård has preserved its buildings, parks, and outdoor areas through careful restoration and ongoing maintenance — with a mission to guard this place’s special history. Meanwhile, the sustainable farm setting means it’s possible for Boen Gård’s restaurant to operate almost entirely from organic ingredients grown (or caught) on site." - Mark Fedeli

Boen Gård (Kristiansand, Agder) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"From a hospitality perspective, Norway really does have it all: from ultra-minimalist creations in glass and steel to this, an old timber farm and sawmill that traces its earliest roots to the 16th century. Boen Gård’s buildings have been restored, but left in their original style, their exteriors displaying a decidedly agricultural side of Norwegian life." - Tablet Hotels

Google
A rare and lovely place in a large beautiful park, with a river , surrounded by several perfectly kept buildings . Rooms are tastefully upgraded but kept in the style of the original |period. |It is a relief to find such a charming Hotel without the "boutique design look" , now so popular. And the food is outstanding !

We just spent 2 nights at Boen Gård (Booked through Up Norway) and we absolutely fell in love with the place! The gardens, the river, the fantastic food and wines, the history, perfect accommodation and outstanding service. A magical place with lots of history to it. Thank you to everyone at Boen, we really hope to return sometime in the near future.

An amazing experience. Cosy room with river views. Exceptional food with wine selection. Caters for all dietary requirements. Pleasant walks along river (with friendly sheep) and in garden. Costly but well worth it! Would love to go again.

We tried 10 course dinner . Score is 7 of 10. The chef hade some problems with balance the courses . But the servic was impeccable!! Can also say the same about the rooms and facilities. Good and a place I really want to recommend. But be aware the prices is a bit steep. 1 night with 10 course 4 glasses of champagne 7700 Norwegian kroner. Around 760 euro :)

Google
A very nice location with fantastic gourmet food. The restaurant is located along the river near the forrest. Almost, if not all, food is locally sourced and combined to great surprising dishes. None of the 5 courses dissapointed us and the wine/juice pairing was excellent. Service was excellent and to the point. We will be back.
