I work downtown and this morning, I forgot my breakfast. I decided to stop in at Bogies and it was my first time eating breakfast there. I was warmly greeted by what I assume was the manager or owner — he was incredibly friendly and quick to welcome me. I mentioned that I’d never tried their breakfast before, and he took the time to explain the different types of breakfast bagels they offer. He was very kind and attentive. The prices were very affordable; I spent less than $10, and everything was made fresh to order. I chose the Hollywood Lightning (2018) with sausage, and it was fantastic — if you like things with a little heat, this one’s for you! He also mentioned they offer online ordering and call-ahead options, which is very convenient. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely make Bogies my new downtown breakfast spot. Thanks again!

Google
I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Now that I work in the area I just go here for lunch all the time. I want to try more things on their menu but due to health restrictions I can only have a few things, but to be honest I’m ok with it. Portions on their salads (including this bad boy here, Isle of Fury) are massive and delicious. Also I really really appreciate the cashier because they know my name and allays always address me by my name. If I got the same thing every time I’m pretty sure they would see me walking in and just know my order by heart. Good customer service is so hard to come by these days! It’s never super packed either when I go in so it’s comfortable. I’m kinda surprised though because this place should be super packed all the time ! It’s a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Consistently good food and good customer service. Also the food comes out really fast. I love this place and I’m so glad I’m at a place where I can enjoy it daily ☺️.

Google
I build my own sandwich here with turkey and ham with cheddar cheese. It was one of the best sandwiches I ever had. The atmosphere was great and service is very friendly.

Google
My wife, son, and I ate here and it was fairly disappointing. I enjoy supporting local places and enjoyed the general atmosphere, but the prices and portions/quality was not there. I believe we spent 60 bucks on 3 sandwiches and a kids sandwich. Not only that, but upgrading from basic ruffles to a flavored chip was an upcharge. There was nothing special and nothing that set it apart from a typical home made sandwich.

Google
For a $20 sandwich there should be more to it. The total for a sandwich and a soda was $24. Nice staff. Good location. Definitely not worth the price. Go somewhere else.

Google
I don’t know what I expected when I ordered this sandwich, but it definitely wasn’t sadness with a side of disappointment. I bit into it and heard it crunch and this wasn’t a toasted sandwich. No, this was emotional damage on two buns. The lady at the front was so rude.. I guess if I made disappointing sandwiches all day I would be rude too

Google
Extremely overpriced, food is very disappointing. It is barebones. I ordered a roast beef sandwich with 2 slices of meat and one slice of cheese, it was somehow 12$ and it still didn’t even taste good.

Google
Had a great experience for ordering a Togo order, staff were nice got greeted at entering bogies A+. Food was great I got the Oklahoma kid and it did not disappoint, i love avocado. And received a warm macadamia cookie which usually I’m used to cold cookies but that was great. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
We decided to give this little local deli a try on a Friday morning about 930. We walked in and were greeted by a friendly cashier at the back of the restaurant. There were 3 other patrons in the store at the time. 1 dining in, 2 waiting for to-go orders. We had looked at the menu prior, and ordered quickly. I ordered the Hollywood lightning and my husband ordered the Hollywood canteen-both with bacon and avocado, and 2 small drinks. We paid $18 and some change. Food came out quick and hot and very loaded with avocado (that was great!) overall, It was good. Was it spectacular? No, but it was good, a little steep for 2 sandwiches and no fruit or anything on the side. Overall, probably a 3/5.

Yelp
Made a quick call to see if they could have an office lunch order prepared within 30 minutes. The happily accepted and provided sandwich trays for 15 people! The service was fast and friendly, the sandwiches were great and everyone was happy!!!

Yelp
$38 for 2 small sandwiches and a drink. Waaaaayyyyy over priced. Won't be returning. Can't believe the price for something so small and it didn't even include chips. No wonder it was empty

Yelp
The guy at the register was super nice but the food was not good. We got 2 sandwiches that were overpriced and they were sandwiches that we could have easily made at home with Walmart deli meat. The chicken on my sandwich was dry and tasted like cardboard and the sourdough bread just tastes like regular store bought white bread. Again, the man who greeted us was very kind and helpful so there was absolutely nothing wrong with the service....just not the best food ‍

Yelp
The food is always delicious and pleasing to the palate! The service is above and beyond. In fact the owner treats others with the utmost respect I've seen him be pleasant and accommodating when no one is watching! The ambiance is calming and like a step back in time. You can't go wrong at Bogie's!

Elliott R.

Yelp
Great little deli with fresh ingredients and great sandwiches! They have a variety of unique soft drinks and mineral waters. I'm so glad that we stopped here rather than a boring, greasy fast food place. Two thumbs up!

Yelp
Very good sandwiches!!!! I was pleasantly surprised because I am not a big sandwich kind of person. They have made such a tasty menu, that this is one of my favorite places to eat in downtown Abilene, TX. Casual setting and a walk up to order counter. The sandwiches come with chips, drink is separate. They are worth the price, this is not a subway, this is Bogie's. With simple decor celebrating Humphry Bogart and the era of classic film and big band music. I recommend the "Chain Lighting" the spice of the jalapeño combines very well with the cheese and Parmesan Peppercorn dressing.
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
Great little sandwich shop downtown that is friendly and takes into consideration what you like in a sandwich and will make recommendations. It's better than some local chain sandwich places and much rather keep my money with the locals than some bigger corporations.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
Cool concept. One of the few lunchtime choices in the area. Good food at a decent price. The Big Shot and chained lightning are two of my favorites - both are very tasty. All the sandwiches come with potato chips but you can substitute pretzels.

Yelp
Went here for my final lunch in Abilene - I should have chose different. I had a club sandwich (that had a fancy name) on white, it tasted like something I would make at home; lettuce, bacon, tomato, store bought lunch meat. It came with a bag of chips, for $7? The service was decent but not great. The counter guy was super nice and when I asked for my brownie to go he bagged it up right away. I hate that the brownie tasted boxed. I was so excited for this place but the food was very lackluster. Maybe I will try a burger or something more complex if I am ever in Abilene again.

Yelp
I love the To Have or Have Not sandwich. I crave it all the time. Friendly, fast service especially if you call ahead.
google avatar

Garry H.

Yelp
Bogie's has quite a large menu of sandwiches. Great location if you work downtown. Service was fast and staff friendly. My sandwich was quite good, but not big enough to fill me up. If I'm downtown, I'll be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Great sandwiches, great vibe, nice people. Nothing fancy, just good food. We eat here about twice per week and highly recommend them!

Yelp
We have lived in Abilene for almost 15 years. We have driven by countess times, never paying much attention. But when my wife suggested it today for lunch, I was yea sure. The menu is very busy, too many fancy names for classic sandwiches. When our fancy named sandwiches finally came out. Our disappointment was classic. We have made better sandwiches at home with the same ingredients. My wife's chicken had a dried out, left over microwave smell to it and it was drowned in thousand island dressing. Definitely over priced for the small portion and something that could be made better at home.

Yelp
Good food, good atmosphere and decent prices! I've had almost everything on the menu and it's always great! Juicy burgers, fresh salads, thick sandwiches... you can't go wrong at Bogie's!
google avatar

Matt M.

Yelp
Pricey! For a couple pieces of white bread (sourdough), a few pieces of turkey, a couple pieces of avocado, some cheese and thousand island dressing. I got the Oklahoma kid. I like the atmosphere and most people appear to be regulars here. The sandwich was good. I just wish it had more turkey and avocado. The cookies are 4 stars:) ! Get a cookie :).

Yelp
There's a little sandwich shop on North Cypress called Bogie's, they make a pretty good sandwich. As you already know there is no shortage of places to get a ham & cheese, several chain sandwich shops all over town. If you are on the North part of Abilene and its close to lunch time pull in street parking & pull up a chair. Friendly people & good food. Several local shops to visit in the area also.

Yelp
Wonderful, locally-owned lunch place. Great variety of sandwiches, salads, and hamburgers. Come early, they draw a crowd. Open 10:30-2 Mon-Fri. They also do a great job with catering orders.

Yelp
I've been wanting to check this sandwich shop out and a few days ago I did. I ordered the Oklahoma kid which is chicken breast, thousand island, avocado, on a sour dough bread. I actually like the idea of chips with my sandwich instead of the same typical fries you get anywhere else in town and a pickle to go with. The sandwich it self was very tasty but I wish their was more meat I found myself hungry for more and taking bites of my sons grill cheese. The bread needed something.... maybe spread some butter on with a few seconds on the grill to get a crunchy texture. I got a bite of my hubby's sandwich (chained lightning) very good. The chips that came with my meal were ruffles good, but wish they had more of a selection and what's up with the baked lays being 40 cents extra (no bueno) . Overall I love the concept and supporting local businesses but the idea of paying for something I can make at home??? ....hmmm If I'm ever in the area I will give this another shot and try something else.

Yelp
I've had their food a few times through Arrowhead Delivery. I've never been in so I thought I'd try today. I suppose 11am is early, but I was the only customer... with 4 employees behind the counter gabbing away. The sandwiches are delicious and the prices are great.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick sandwich to go and it was actually pretty good. Fast service, took like 5 minutes to get it. Will def go back in the future!

Dee L.

Yelp
I have enjoyed many lunch hour conversations at this place. The foodis great and the service is quick. The variety is appropriate for the customer target venue. Accessibility is primarily meant for those walking and shopping downtown. There are a few places to park though. Overall, this is a great place to relax and enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere over a great lunch.

Yelp
Great sandwiches with a classic theme! The sandwich combos are as unique as Bogart's persona. An Abilene original, you'll certainly want to play it again.
google avatar

Rob M.

Yelp
I like to support small, local business as much as the next guy, but I can't stand behind this one. I would have given just one star if it weren't for the service. The owner or whomever was running front of house was very kind. The food, however, was simply no good. The patty was bland and miniscule. The bun was store bought and dry and I hate Lay's, which for some reason counts as a side. I get what their try to do with the late 50s theme, but the building could use an update for sure.
google avatar

Heather W.

Yelp
My sandwich was good & tasty. Not very big though, not filling. The both of us ate for $21, which isn't to bad... But then again two sandwiches for $21 is a bit much.... Over all, its good food if your not very hungry and need something light and don't mind paying $10 for just one sandwich.

Yelp
Just got them for lunch today... needless to say not only do I not have lunch, but I also won't be ordering from here again. The lettuce is wilted, old and tastes really bad... almost soapy. It's gross and unedible. Guess I better visit our snack machine. -_-

Paul B.

Yelp
Personal favorite lunch stop. Great atmosphere. The owner is a great guy and attentive to his customers. The Three on a Match is a must. Bogies is only open for lunch, and around the noon rush the line can almost reach all the way back to the entrance.

raquel d.

Yelp
Every time I come to Abilene (holidays), I eat here as much as possible. Everything is so delicious, I can never choose just one sandwich. Only complaint is that the sandwiches are small and overpriced, but WORTH IT.

Megan T.

Yelp
I love LOVE this place! The Oklahoma Kid is the best sandwich I've ever had. Sadly I have since moved out of town but I always find myself craving this beauty of a sandwich. The environment of this place is unique and the staff always make you feel at home. Delicious bread!

Rhett S.

Yelp
I should have known it wasn't good when it looked like a ghost town at noon on a Tuesday. Food is way overpriced. Quantity over quality. Yea they put a lot of meat on a sandwich but it is very low quality meat. They will never get my business again. I expected a lot considering how few hits they are open.

Jordan W.

Yelp
I don't typically consider myself much of a sandwich guy, but Bogie's remains one of my favorite restaurants in Abilene. The Oklahoma Kid is one of the best sandwiches I have ever consumed. It's blend of grilled chicken, avocado, cheese, and thousand island dressing on wonderful sourdough bread keep me coming back consistently. Their burgers are also amazing. I have never been disappointed at Bogie's.

Lily B.

Yelp
I've eaten here a couple times. I was dawn by the decor; very 50s diner-esque and I loved that! What I also love are the Bogie's-movie-themed sandwiches and salads. My favorite is the Bogie's Hoagie. It is very good! However, I wish they would add different sides besides chips or pretzels. I feel, honestly, the sandwiches are overpriced if all you are getting is a bag of ruffles and something you could've made at home for less than $5. The staff are great! It would be nice if they could add flavors to some things, like the OK Kid. The chicken could use some more loving. Other than that, it's a nice spot in town for a lunch break.
