Someone Just Bought Paul Prudhomme’s Marigny Home - Eater New Orleans

"The late Paul Prudhomme’s multi-building residence and compound just sold for 2.45 million dollars, reports City Business. The Marigny property has three single-family homes, a pool house, and a warehouse on one lot, totaling 10,288 square feet. It was the most high dollar home sold in New Orleans this week. The compound includes a commercial kitchen, “trompe l’oeil walls, pools and pool house, gardens, water features, a stained glass depiction of the chef, and an amazing bathtub with blue and white tiled steps,” according to Curbed. Note that the bathtub is a massive tub with a small staircase descending down into it. Another room is completely covered in trellis." - Stephanie Carter

Location Location Location!!! Had a great stay at Boheme de Marigny with my two brothers and I. We had our own rooms and bathrooms. Every room was well equipped with everything you need from blow dryers to irons. Neighborhood was quiet and peaceful and yet still in the mix of things. Our favorite place to visit in New Orleans was Frenchmen st where there was good music everywhere. The place was so close to it but yet safely tucked away from it. Our host was well responsive and was there for anything that we needed. We ate breakfast at a really good restaurant called the Ruby slipper that was delicious and a couple of blocks away. There was street parking, washer dryer, the beds were very comfortable, and just a fun place to be. We really enjoyed our time here.

Boheme de Marigny Is located in a quintessential and enchanting neighborhood. The location just didn’t get any better. Walking to the French quarter, Frenchman’s street, the river are all easily accessible. There is a great breakfast place, “Horns”, right on the corner. Tourist can seamlessly blend in and feel the local vibe that make New Orleans such a special place to visit. The Chewbaccus parade was just around the corner. Such a great time!!

Great location & accommodations! My family of 4 stayed in one cottage & my sister & mother stayed on the other cottages. It was so nice to have our own space, bathrooms & kitchens (Mid-size & large cottage). Coffee was provided in each cottage as well. We loved architecture, neighborhood & the hosts are so helpful & attentive. We will be back!

Yelp
Stayed here back in February when Vanessa R. and I just had to go to New Orleans to satisfy our Crawfish craving. The people who manage this place are very friendly and helpful when it comes to just about anything. The place itself is very cute, we stayed in the Bordello room which actually has two entrances to the room, a plus in my opinion. This had one queen size bed and a private bath. The decor is very french quarter style antique, and the room very clean and comfortable. Its a couple of blocks from the french quarter, passing by many restaurants, bars, and cafes that the locals tend to frequent on the way. The room was $89 per night including taxes. Very reasonable. Cute place, will definitely go back.

Yelp
We had such a wonderful stay at the Boheme de Marigny. Located in the most enchanting neighborhood where we could walk almost anywhere we needed to go. The French quarter, Frenchmen street,The Marigny all have so much to see and enjoy. We were welcomed like family and made to feel like locals. Our stay at Boheme de Marigny was our best time we've ever had in beautiful New Orleans. Can't say thank you enough.

Yelp
Fun little B&B. My girlfriend and I stayed a few nights in the Voodoo room. The location was perfect, very quiet street but within easy walking distance of Frenchman street and the whole French Quarter. The room had its own full kitchen, and a living room, which for the price was a great deal. We didn't cook in much but it was nice to have the option because there isn't actually breakfast, just a coupon to go to the restaurant across the street (this is probably better though as the Paniche is pretty good and you get lots of food). The new owner seems to be making lots of renovations to the place and the pictures don't really show what the rooms look like now. The place was clean, and the bed comfortable, and all we needed for an awesome couple of days in New Orleans.

Yelp
My friend and I stayed in the Voodoo suite for our 4-day visit to New Orleans. This was our first time in New Orleans, and while we were on a budget, we also wanted to experience many of the great things that the city had to offer. The Marigny proved to be a great central location - walk or bike (which you easily rent a few blocks away) to historic Royal Street, jazz on Frenchman, Bourbon St, downtown restaurants galore. The Voodoo room had a full size kitchen, which was great for making our own coffee and breakfast in the morning, and saving leftovers after dinner. This helped our food budget a ton. The beds were comfy, bathrooms were very clean and clean sheets and towels plenty. There was also a TV with cable, free wireless Internet and air conditioning -- a very nice place to come 'home' to relax after a fun-filled day in the city. Dayna, the owner, lives in the house directly behind the cottage. I can't say good enough things about her!!! She was flexible and accommodating, and even gave us her cell phone number just in case we needed anything and she wasn't home. A wonderful place - definitely the first accommodation that I will try to book for my next trip back!

Yelp
Great neighborhood, good value. Marigny is a great neighborhood. quiet, laid back and less touristy than the Quarter. Music, restaurants, coffee shops, galleries, and architecture. Local, artistic feel. The Quarter is an easy walk (just a few blocks). Quiet, residential street. Only three rooms. The Voodoo room (actually a suite), was comfortable and clean, but not luxurious, with a laid-back feel and eclectic furnishings. The room had a kitchen--would be good for an extended stay. Price was very reasonable for the full kitchen and small sitting room. Good choice for the independent traveler, couples, or groups. Probably not a good choice for families.

Yelp
Stayed here on a busy Jazz Fest weekend. Room was nice, we had a unit with a kitchen. Things were as expected and I would stay here again. Its nice to be close to the madness on Frenchman Street and the "Quarter" with the ability to hide in a quiet room nearby.

Yelp
We booked the Voodoo Room for a long holiday weekend and ended up having to Price Line our way to another place to stay. In my opinion, the room was filthy and was not as described online. To name just a few of my gripes, we had to wash everything we wanted to use from the kitchen before we used it because it was dirty, the trash cans were covered with a film of dirt, grime and mold, our feet were blackened from the dirty floors after a few minutes of walking barefoot, there wasn't a microwave or a working oven in the "full kitchen," and the sheets were stained beyond my comfort level. Essentially, it is my opinion that that the place could be great if they invested some more money in housekeeping and general maintenance. I would not recommend it under the current conditions. Also note, the Voodoo Room is a shotgun, which means if you plan to sleep people in the front room, they will have to go into the bedroom to use the bathroom or walk through the bedroom to get to the kitchen. Furthermore, the place is under new ownership and it seems there are quite a bit of kinks to be worked out.

Yelp
I love this place! We stayed for a bachelorette trip this past weekend. The owner and daughter were very kind and made sure we had a great stay. It is a perfect location, close enough to walk to bourbon but far enough away to relax. The pictures do not do it justice. It is so much cuter in person and has so much New Orleans character. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely stay here again!! Best place I have stayed in New Orleans by far!

Yelp
This is a wonderful place in the Marigny. You are one block from Frenchman Street, which IMO is the best music venue in the City, and a short walk to the Quarter. The room was more like a suite, with a bath and small kitchen. I had a side room which was very quiet. The room was neat, clean and comfortable. The owner, Danya couldn't have been more helpful. She even sent me an email, after I returned home, informing me that I had left my phone charger behind. She offered to send it to me, which she did. Thank you Danya! If you want a place in a real neighborhood, with folks sitting on their stoops, and walking their dogs, away from the hoards of the large hotels and conventioneers, this is your place. If you prefer room service, and a gym, you should look elsewhere. I found the price to be very reasonable. This will be my new home in NOLA.
