Been a member here for 40+ years. At my age, 75, I no longer have to pay dues. Not sure I will be going to camp this year.

I know a few Bohemians. One of them you would definitely know. Others are names you'd also definitely know. I've been told tales I can't share - nothing creepy or Satanic or whatever mouthpiece is shrieking about. Tom Wolfe's Masters of the Universe telling stories and smoking expensive cigars by the Russian River. Originated in San Francisco, of course- land of dreamers and big ideas.

"Conspiracy Theorists, come not here". A club shrouded in secrecy and mystery, they are owners of Bohemian Grove the location where Alex Jones and other conspiracy theorists claim Moloch worship, children sacrifice, and Illuminati-level new world order planning among elites. The truth, while mundane, is probably much more interesting. Started by newspapermen and artists at the turn of the century, a going-away party turned into an artsy parody of secret societies that eventually became a "secret society". Their exclusivity eventually attracted the Rich which the Artists needed to fund their ideas and experiences. Their quote about weaving spiders is from Shakespeare, their owl statue is the Owl of Bohemia and not some satanic god. You can easily find accounts of the Bohemian Grove from "inside-scoops" from service people who have worked there, you can look through the pictures here and read the reviews to find out more about the club. Located on Post street, its a beautiful old red-brick building covered in vines, many people walk right past it because nothing about it sticks out. You cannot get in unless you are a member or a guest so it's a quick 5 minute stop for the curious. There is a mysterious black and white owl tile wall with owl statues right on the corner of Post across from this building, not sure if its also part of the Bohemian-club.

Classic World Class Club, this historic club and location is a San Francisco Legend. Historical figures over the past 100 years left there mark here.

Attended the Annual Musical - a Rock and Roll comedic production. First, dinner was superb - service impeccable - short jaunt to the theatre. Fun production - members perform - the true talent being the talented musicians who are "invited" to be members. Emcee forgot to rehearse. Rumors flying the Monte Rio/Grove site is genereously donating to the flood stricken neighbors who suffered mightily. Bravo.

Used to work at the Sonoma County location. As far as catering goes it's the best out there. The grounds are beautiful and I felt like I was getting paid well back when I was there. I think it would be fun to take a tour of the Taylor street location for old times sake and see if anyone I know is still there. One of the esteemed members was kind enough to play us a song, I still think about that once in a blue moon.

This is one of the most exclusive clubs in the world. I've had the chance to meet some of the members and the employees. Great people , through and through. I hope to have the chance to meet some of their more prestigious members. This review is purposely vague....decide for yourself what that means.

Very professional like, service and staff! One of bay areas elite for sure! Moreso I like how they have an option of San Francisco California or the n Monte Rio California!

I've been here once for lunch and once for a Broadway performance by Bohemian Club members. The lunch was very nice and they serve chocolate chip cookies in their huge lobby. Service is wonderful. The Club is huge, there's tons of dark wood paneling and huge sofas and chairs. The Club also has all sorts of artwork and sculpture all over the place done by the members. There's this huge fancy elongated interior stairwell next to the ancient elevators that's very impressive. There's nothing new about the place at all. It's all old. A bit like the members, but there are some members who appear to be in their 40's or 50's. I was able to tour their library and it's huge and impressive. This place gives definiton to the adjective "tony". The men's room is unmarked, I guess because the members all know where it is. Evidently, all of the captains of industry and government are members. Men only. Takes an introduction, years of waiting on a waiting list, and wads of cash to become a member. You can speed your wait if you have a skill applicable to the theater. Some popular local musicians are members. The Club is an amateur performing arts group. It is improper to talk any business at the Club. It is in this manner that the Club can claim its exclusion of women is not to their detriment. Right. Women are allowed as guests at certain meals and event. Women are not allowed at the annual Grove event. Period. Gives new meaning to the W.C. Fields saying that he would never be a member of a club that would have someone like himself as a member. If you're invited, wear a suit and tie or else you won't get in.

Incredible how many flights and mezzanine levels it has inside with endless old-school carpeted stairwells. I don't have the right design words for it but it is definitely a step back to a golden San Francisco era, luxurious and well appointed but lots of historical photographs of some of their more well-known members lining the hallways... But I'll never tell :-) If you ever have the chance to go don't even think twice about it say yes and see what the 1% lives like for a moment.... It's nowhere near The evil that the occupy movement want you to think it is. You will have some of the best food And absolutely impeccable service and class ever found in the bay Area and those of you who live here know how high that bar has been set.

I was taken here on several occasions by a long-time client. He is, he tells me, one of the early members. I'm sure it's true as his family goes back in California almost to the Donner Party! What a fantastic place! Go into the 'drawing room' with it's high ceilings and magazines for relaxing and reading. The Card Room is a nice place to have a drink. As there are no women allowed there is no need to mark the "Men's Room". The dining room allows no cell phones, no business to be conducted, no untoward activities like that! No, this is a place that deserves its reputation. So classy there's no need for a sign on the exterior. No need for any of the pedestrian trappings of many "Clubs". Yes, this place is fantastic and I am grateful my client took me here as I can always say I've been inside, and on several occasions! Join, if you can get the invitation.

When our dad died, we found a BC napkin in a seersucker jacket. We know he spent some time at the Grove. It's hard to imagine our old man, a scientist, hanging around a guy who pissed in people's wine (Kissinger) but he did. A lot. There's nothing about the club that anyone doesn't know already; suffice to say, it's a pleasant enough joint with some queer goings on inside that I have now witnessed and enjoyed.

This is a very interesting place that very few people will ever venture. they have a nice little theatre in the bowels of the building with a very ornate Proscenium arch. I can't speak to the quality of the entertainment but i can say it looks to be a nice place with good people.

One of my childhood friends fathers is a member of the Bohemian Club. Personally, I enjoy this place, the darkened bar, the reading room, and the lunch at this place has always been good. Interestingly, the good is not overly fancy. The cost for a lunch is also very reasonable considering some of the menu items. Take the crab bisque, fresh crab (obviously) here in SF, not too heavy of a cream base to the soup and as noted not over priced. The wine options are also very flexible to higher end options, like Heitz, it you are willing to do a bottle. One note- no wireless phones in the dining room so set your phone on mute and sit back and enjoy your meal. I only get to the Bohemian Club every few years when my friend and his Dad are available but I always enjoy the time we can spend. It is an old school location but a treat when I can visit.

Worked here as a chef, it's really nice and vintage but I thought it would be nicer since government, politicians, musicians and business men are there. Word on the block says it takes thousands of dollars to get in, in addition to waiting and for what it looks like I wouldn't pay that much. Kitchen, restroooms, and dressing rooms aren't even that nice for the hype. Ice cooked the food there and it isn't worth it, either. Who knows what goes on behind closed doors of this place, especially with politicians working there, I don't trust them. I wouldn't be surprised if people were getting raped or plotting against the US.

Venue is nice and clean and a great place to visit but before you book a Wedding here be sure you read the contract. They allow Photographers but not Videographers for some weird reason.

The Bohemian Club is a mere shadow on the cave wall of the Grove itself. At the grove, music and poetry fill the air, philosophy fills the minds, gin fizzes fill the bellies, and comradery fills the hearts of every camper. Yes, I say camper, not former presidents or heads of state, not CEOs or multi-millionaires, for at the grove, they are all campers, every one of them a bohemian at heart.

You don't know class until you've been inside. A friend of mine invited me to play music here and I swear, free drinks if they find out you can play an instrument really well. Now try to play when you've had a few mixed drinks. hehehe

I've been fortunate to enjoy an after work drink at this most private of San Francisco institutions.

I tried to get in there once, considering the "conspiracy." The door man was polite, much nicer than the asshole doormen at the freemason building.

Exquisite area to invite friends over for a meeting. The decor is well placed, and the life of the room mixes with mood of you guests. Overall, a fine group of members who are of the most talented people in the Bay Area.

Back for another fabulous wedding and I love this place even a little more. Reeks of fine old SF and this time I saw some old paintings of famous members. Roosevelt , which I did not know till now. Excellent service and I got to hear some hilarious anecdotal stories about the fabled Bohemian Grove. Fun night, great reception venue!

Perfect host, great meeting and as a bonus the best French Dip ever, as well as good coffee.

As the world in general hurtles towards the great mediocrity, it's nice to know that fine instutions like this can still exist.

the layout gets confusing after you've personalized several bottles of free chardonnay, but once you find the theater, you're sure to be entertained (fyi, it's subterranean). there are all kinds of killer musicians involved here - some you know, others you don't - but it's a great time and they house important art. take a moment to smarten up in the library while you're there.

Great joint! 2 for 1 Pabst is a big draw. Had a great time until Brent Scowcroft and David Gergen fell over doing keg stands and spilled a tray of jello shots and mai tais all over my brand new Sharks jersey. Totally stained my flip flops! Nice club.
