San Francisco Restaurant Boho to Open New Retail and To-Go Shop in the Marina | Eater SF

"I'm reporting that Boho Petite, opening in late July at 2146 Chestnut Street in the former Aesop retail space, will be a casual retail and to‑go outpost from the Marina spot Boho run by chef Andrei Busuev and partner Eileen Filmus. They say they built the menu around what someone working from home might want on a Tuesday morning, so offerings will be easy to take home and reheat or to eat on the way home with coffee; the plan is a completely to‑go format with no indoor seating, open from morning until late afternoon and closing just before Boho opens at 5:30 p.m. Busuev plans a wide pastry program — pastries, pies, cookies, cakes, quiches — alongside sandwiches (including a duck mousse sandwich and a vegetarian option with eggplant, zucchini, mushrooms, and burrata) and Busuev’s inventive Belgian waffles in sweet and savory forms (ideas range from a waffle with beef tartare to one with house‑cured salmon, whipped cream cheese, and onions, plus sweet versions like Nutella and walnuts). They also promise a number of gluten‑free dishes, seasonal retail items such as jams, and potential pre‑packaged dishes like Boho’s duck confit, short ribs, coups, and more." - Dianne de Guzman

Google
A Taste of Paris in Every Bite! A delightful spot with truly authentic French pastries. The quality is outstanding—light, flaky croissants and beautifully crafted desserts. Great service and a lovely atmosphere. A must-visit for pastry lovers! They also offer custom cakes for special occasions which I thought was great!

Google
Boho Petite this is one of the best café bakery on Marina District , The owner is very friendly, always helpful and always smiling ☺️, best quality, best service, if you’re looking for big party order like corporate or wedding , I highly recommend this place. The chef and his team is amazing.

Google
This charming little pastry shop is an absolute hidden gem! Boho Petite offers some of the most delicious pastries I’ve had in the city—flaky, flavorful, and clearly made with love. The shop itself is adorable, surrounded by flowers that give it a warm, welcoming vibe. It feels like stepping into a cozy European café tucked away in the heart of San Francisco. The attention to detail in both the décor and the pastries is impressive. Whether you’re stopping by for a morning croissant or an afternoon treat with coffee, Boho Petite delivers a delightful experience. Highly recommend for anyone who loves artisanal baked goods and beautiful, relaxing spaces.

Google
This was a real find. I was walking around the Marina and came across this place. Amazing friendly staff (Max was awesome). I had a baked egg croissant and a cappuccino and picked up some bread pudding for my mom. I literally felt like I was in Paris. They opened in 2022. They have every dessert and pastry you can dream of. I will definitely go back.

Google
I had a great experience at this place. Although it’s small and has few outdoor tables, all their desserts are delicious, and the coffee is good too. They have a wide variety of desserts, and I chose the strawberry napoleon, which was delicious. The texture of the puff pastry, the glaze, and the cream in the middle were excellent. I’ve tried more desserts, and they are all equally impressive. Additionally, the service from the lady who attends is very friendly. I’ll definitely be back soon.

Google
Lovely team that I cannot thank enough for their kindness and professional service. I ordered a pistachio tart for a birthday and it was absolutely divine. The right amount of sweetness and richness while being light. Only the highest of quality ingredients used. I will only be ordering birthday cakes from them from now on. Special thanks to Estelle.

Google
Such a lovely experience! The welcome was warm and friendly, the food was absolutely delicious, and everything was beautifully presented. Highly recommend! 😋

Google
Super delicious French Bakery in the SF Marina District. My wife and I stumble upon this place after some bar hopping and was pleasantly surprised how delicious their desserts are. The place is also beautifully decorated, and we love the design.

Yelp
Stopped by here for a sweet treat after a doctor appointment. We got the chocolate flan and OMG!!! It was very decadent and rich. They had lots of yummy pastries to choose as well. But, I was happy with my choice. I'll definitely come back and try something different.

Yelp
A charming cafe with a variety of pastries! Seems like they specialize in sweets including fruit tarts, macaroons, and cakes. I enjoyed their spinach feta croissant and pistachio croissant, both were delicious. But it is a bit on the higher price range, I ended up paying a little over $16 for 2 pastries. No indoor seating but they have open and covered tables just outside.

Yelp
Fraise 2/5 Latte 3/5 Service 0.5/5 Major Marina attitude. If you want to drink French Kool-Aid on a Sunday? This is the place to come to. Aristcault in Sf or Renaud's in Santa Barbara have amazing French pastry with nice people serving the food. I ordered strawberry sponge cake in English and the server gave me raspberry tart. They clearly didn't appreciate me speaking to them in English. I'm not going to pretend to speak French. Silly interaction. I can do that in France. I don't need to go to Union Street to speak French. The service was rude and honestly, the pastry was not worth the attitude. Not to mention I had my six year old with me. They also seem to be annoyed by her presence. She was the one that wanted to come in drawn by the fake flowers.

Yelp
modern and elegant patisserie with a variety of classic and unique French pastries. We tried their pain au chocolate, tiramisu, fraisier and latte. The pastries are beautifully crafted and they wrapped them in a box for us to take. Must try for a sweet treat in the city.

Yelp
Stopped by on a Saturday morning as the window display looked delicious! The servers were incredibly nice and knowledgeable about the products. We decided to try the chocolate eclair and almond croissant, both were delicious but the filling in the eclair was slightly too sweet for me. The bakery is small but very cute and well decorated. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
Cute French patissiere serving pastries, desserts and even sandwiches! Service was great and their to go containers make sure nothing slides around in transport.

Yelp
Stopped by while walking my dog. They are dog friendly and offered my pup a treat! Wanted to try out their chocolate croissant. It tasted great, the croissant is very buttery and the chocolate complements it nicely. I will say though it's only mildly crispy, there's other bakeries that have a more flaky croissant if that's what you're after.

Yelp
I place a same day order for their large fruit tart that I took to a family event. They were really accommodating and nice on the phone. When I went to pick it up, they had my order ready and the woman behind the counter was very friendly. When we finally got to taste the tart, I was pleasantly surprised. It was absolutely delicious and fresh. Highly recommended. 10 out of 10. They will be my new go to spot for desserts on the go. It's really cute inside too. Also the large was a plentiful size for about eight people.

Yelp
I saw a sign outside advertising a seasonal raspberry matcha, so I figured I'd give the drink a try! The drink was pretty good, but not worth the $8+ price (almond milk costs extra). It was hard to mix the matcha and raspberry, so some sips were too sweet and some too bitter. The service and ambiance of the bakery are nice though!

Yelp
This was a very good French patisserie that I happened to find while waiting to get dinner somewhere else in the area. They had a nice selection to choose from ranging from cookies and macarons to flans, other fancy pastries and even sandwiches. I thought that I had taken more pics of what I actually got but I think I just posted with a social media app so bummer there. I got the Flan Vanilla and it kind of reminded me of sort of a giant egg tart but maybe creamier and more vanilla. I also got a chocolate chip cookie, their petite four (bite sized cakes) and their Make a Wish (vanilla cake with chocolate ganache). I'd have to say the Make a Wish and the cookie were my favorite things. The make a wish was decadent but not too rich or sweet. The cookie was nice much sweeter so I needed a drink to even it all out. The cookie had the slightest crisp to the outside but was still soft on the inside. The person who helped me was very pleasant and patient as I had a few questions to ask him. The place is pretty small and clean. It's basically 1 long counter with just enough space to stand and order. If I'm in the area I'd gladly go back

Yelp
Amazing pastries! So delicious, definitely would recommend. The lady working there was really kind and it's the perfect spot to grab and go. Or sit in the public seating right outside. Definitely a must visit for pastries in SF!

Yelp
Stopped by this small bakery on my walk to meet a friend. I was first drawn to the bakery by the cute pastry display on the front window. I walked in and was immediately greeted by the staff and received insightful information of the different pastries. I ended up getting the lemon tart which turned out to be amazingly delicious, just the right amount of tartness. One thing that I'd try next time is there pistachio tart. Overall, delicious spot!

Jibu J.

Yelp
Stopped by while getting kids ice cream next door. Definitely coming back next time I am in area to try the cakes. Got a cappuccino and some macaroons when there this time. Cappuccino was decent but not special, BUT the Macaroons were very good bordering on epic. Would come back even just to have them again.

Yelp
Cute shop with nice staff and delicious treats. I'm lucky that they are close by, I like bringing their good stuff to friends and family; I'm especially a fan of their cookies, pain aux raisins, pain au chocolat! And I tried a cupcake there today for the first time, absolutely decadent and wonderful.

Yelp
I came back! But with my parents so I didn't have to pay LOLL. It's delicious again, but the tarts are more sour than I expected haha. Still it's really yummy

Yelp
A sweet little shop in Marina! Popped in as we walked by and had to order something. Ambience: this place is modern, clean and very sweet. Service: the guy was very nice & polite. - Flan: one of the best I've ever had. Loved the texture and amount of sweetness. - Coffee: really good balanced coffee. We'll be back for more!

Yelp
Delightful bakery, great customer service a lot of gluten-free to choose from. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a sweet treat.
google avatar

Yelp
This is by far the best pastry shop in the Marina and could probably rank as a top bakery in the entire city. You can see and taste that they are experts in their craft. Pick up a few items to try or bring to a friend. The interior is small with no seating, but there are a couple small parklet tables outside if you want to stick around a bit. Pro tip - grab a coffee from Wrecking Ball a few blocks away and then stop here for a chocolate croissant which pairs perfectly with a stroll down Chestnut or the Marina Green!

Yelp
Great coffee, excellent pastries and nice staff! My husband and I love coming here for the breakfast pastry + coffee deal.

Yelp
I love running in to boho petite to grab pastries for dessert whenever I host dinner parties. Their pastries are always a crowd pleaser because they are delicious and beautiful. I also like running over to grab a coffee and a breakfast pastry. Both are great and their service is good. They don't have much sitting room so it's usually easier to take it to go.

Yelp
My coworker bought me a birthday cake from here and I honestly have never heard of this place until I got this cake. I was so impressed of about it looked and the fancy box. Not sure which cake I got but it was a chocolate moose type (see the photo). It was SOOOO delicious. It was so light but so rich at the same time. I loved everything about the cake. You can tell it was a high quality cake. Only thing was that although the box looked super nice and fancy, it was so fragile and broke apart after opening where the cake nearly fell out and on to the ground. Would definitely have a backup box or hold it in a bag once you open the box.

Yelp
I've stopped by here 3 times and it's been good every time I've been! The vanilla flan is stand out. This time when I got it, it was later in the day and the crust was a bit stale tasting. The quiches are super yummy and the roll w cheese and mushrooms is pretty good! The staff are always nice and they have samples. I wish they had a bit more outdoor seating though!

Yelp
Shoutout to the staff and owner for providing an amazing customer experience on a particularly hot day in SF. The decor and interior definitely drew me in and I was craving something sweet since it was so warm. So many great options on display but I was craving something sweet and tart. Ordered the mango mousse and I inhaled it in about 2 minutes. Mousse was a great fluffy texture and there were actually pieces of mango interspersed in the mousse itself. Came back inside to throw away the paper utensils and I was asked if I wanted to try a piece of opera cake. Yes. Opera cake had distinct layers and I liked that it wasn't too sweet. Just the perfect amount of sweetness and bitterness from the coffee. And then I was asked (since it was hot) if I wanted a cup of water. Yes. That cup of water kept me hydrated while I was walking around in the Marina. Overall if you couldn't tell I had a lovely experience and I can't wait to come back again (maybe to get a full sized tart or cake...)

Yelp
Their cakes have been fantastic. Ive tried their peach pie and tiramisu and they came beautifully packaged. Recommend ordering few hours in advance though because their cakes are frozen.
google avatar

Yelp
Hot & new pastry shop. Packaging is beyond awesome. Look stunning as gift and great quality pastries and cake as well. FYI..... they won't keep them overnight to sell the next day so you know you will only get fresh pastries and cake here!!!
google avatar

Lisa W.

Yelp
This place really is petite, so don't expect a lot of space to sit there! They have a little parklet in front but it seems to be shared with an ice cream shop next door. The desserts inside are worth the visit and the service is great!

Greg S.

Yelp
EVERYTHING HANDMADE AND MADE WITH LOVE AND THE FRESHEST AND FINEST INGREDIENTS Charming and Elegant So many handmade goodies, that you'd think Boho Petite was a Michelin Star rated patisserie house. The more I visited, the more I learned about so many of Boho's hidden gems! Never mind the fact that after a year long quest to find the perfect chocolate croissant in San Francisco, it happened to be here right next door to where I live! Today, I was blown away with the ultimate BEST SANDWICH IN SAN FRANCISCO! The freshest sandwich made with the freshest ingredients! Honestly the sandwich should cost 10x's more than what I paid. Incredible staff and incredible, unique handmade goodies. BOHO IS A MUST TRY IN SAN FRANCISCO

Yelp
Best chocolate croissant and mocha I have ever had. So good I even called the store after (I got it togo) to let them know how amazing it was.

Yelp
Boho Petite is WONDERFUL! It's a darling and yummy bakery on Chestnut Street. They have fantastic baked goods. I particularly love their fruit tarts. The crust is delicious, the traditional custard is awesome, and the fruit is ripe and flavorful. The Boho Petite staff is really kind. And they have a beautiful parklet out front with gorgeous flowers so you can sit outside and enjoy your pastries. I HIGHLY recommend this AMAZING bakery!
google avatar

Yelp
I tried four dessert from here (lemon tart, mango mousse, raspberry mousse, and tiramisu) and they are all good. My fav was the mango mousse. Portion was big and price was average SF price.

Yelp
OMG this place is cute & amazing! The outside is for with the flowers. Inside is a sweet heaven of pastries. Stella provided great service & has helped me with describing the pastries & yes I loved it all! She's awesome! All these desserts were yummy, tasteful & light. Not too overwhelming, just right. Totally would come back here again. They also have a restaurant worth checking out too with a soup that Stella recommend.

Penny P.

Yelp
What a delightful spot to pick up an authentic French pastry! The lemon tart is amazing as is the ham and cheese croissant. However, I also adored the beet salad. My husband had a Reuben-type sandwich and he raved. The service by a young lady named Avery was outstanding. I'll be back for sure.
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
I came back to Boho Bakery today and spoke to the owner. She was very kind and thanked me for my feedback. I told her, every piece of pastries purchased was delicious, buttery and special. I went in to support them as they are a new small business. She gave me a whole flan to replace the items that were damaged in the box. Please support this delightful bakery!
google avatar

Jenn M.

Yelp
Upon entering the store, they have a couple sample plates for customer to try. The interior of the store is very modern, clean lines, and minimalism. The desserts here are decodent! They have a good selections from pastries to a whole cake. Each dessert is constructed like a piece of art and they taste amazing, balancing multiple delicate ingredients together with smooth texture. It's great to have a boutique style pastry shop in Marina.

Yelp
I went here on a Saturday around 5 pm , it was very hard to find a parking spot near the bakery. This bakery shop is a very small cute place with some simple sitting area outside . Not lots of items but they seems pretty good . I asked for a chocolate mousse. The taste was ok not amazing . I would definitely come back another time to taste another pastry. The young lady who was working there was so nice , friendly and amazing

Ailish G.

Yelp

Yelp
The cutest new bakery in town. I've been told they have fresh warm pastries in the mornings! I got a make a wish and it was really good, I would go back to try other things!

Emma S.

Yelp
My FAVORITE bakery in San Francisco. The Pain au Chocolat was just like Paris and the flan was unlike anything you can get in the city.

Edita A.

Yelp
Such a cute add on to Chestnut Street . I got the danish pastry it's so fresh light and the filling is so good the custard filling you can taste a hint of lemon just the right sweetness .Most definitely coming back to try other pastries

Yelp
I love my wedding cake !! From the beginning I was shopping for cake Either they don't deliver or they were too expensive too small Stella is extraordinary, she is very accommodating. I wanted a two tier cake , with earl grey tea flavour, she made it . It was a French bakery , their cream was awesome , she offered me cream , butter cream or French pastry cream, I picked th French pastry cream. Can u believe that I can choose the cream ? The cake was tasty and looked great, all my guests love it and take home the rest. I made some request on the cake deaign , the flavour the look, Stella gave me more than I expected. I love you Stella . You made my wedding a perfect one.

Yelp
2 visits. Stuff looks pretty in the window. Quality-control is seriously lacking. A toasted/ hot pastrami and a cold turkey sando first time, good, but took over 20 minutes and we were the only 2 in the place. The cheesecake was mediocre and overpriced. We went back a 2d time because I had liked the pastrami. Second time, the sandwich maker guy strolled in around 5 minutes after we ordered at the front desk, smelling like smoke, carrying his lunch from some other place (guess he doesn't like the ingredients he uses on customers' food). And again it took over 20 minutes and we were the only people in the place. We hate paying before we receive our food, and we would have left if we hadn't pre-paid. The requested toasted/hot pastrami was lukewarm, cheese cold not melted, missing ingredients, and my sharp teeth could not cut through the bread crust. Tossed it into the bin. Money wasted. I emailed the owner-no reply, which says a lot. The croissant was completely raw dough inside. Did I say it was completely raw dough? Oh, the inside of the croissant was completely raw dough. I learned via yelpers that the cakes are frozen. Safeway offers fresh cakes.

Yelp
Liked the Cortado with Oat Milk. The pastries and croissants etc looked nice (for next time)
google avatar

Bonnie H.

Yelp
Stopped by and tried their lemon tart and peach tart. Most of their pastries were sold out by the time we arrived. The tarts were very good (loved the crust) and the service was great.

Nina M.

Yelp
Cute shop and the cappuccino was perfection. The pastries were still warm. Yum! Don't miss this.
google avatar

Cris L.

Yelp
Cute little French spot on Chesnut. Parking nearby was terrible but these pastries made up for it! Loved the strawberry choux

Zara S.

Yelp
Delightful and quaint patisserie! I tried the pain chocolat (chocolate croissant) and it almost reminds me of the ones I'd get when I lived in Europe. As recommended by the host from France. Looking forward to going back to try their sandwiches and crepes (coming soon). Loved the service and hospitality. Limited seating indoors (similar to B-patisserie), but has a few tables outside for outdoor seating, which was perfect for us this morning. Lovely breakfast or lunch spot.
google avatar

Yiqiu W.

Yelp
It's so nice that they give sample tasting. So we tried Paris Brest and it's really good. It has creamy taste of hazelnut with a very satisfying crunch.

Jeff M.

Yelp
I can't say how amazing this Bakery is and even more how amazing the staff is. They took my order with no fuss, they knew exactly what to make and how to make it. They made an amazing suger free and gluten free cake for my mother's 65th birthday. It was beautiful and left everyone speechless on how amazing the tast was. I will definitely be coming back from now on. Thank you once again for the amazing cake and service!!!!!!!!!!!!!
google avatar

Anthony W.

Yelp
They are definitely an above average patisserie. I purchased the lemon cake and quiche. The lemon cake was very moist and not overly sweet. The quiche was also good and quite a large piece. I'll certainly be back to try their other offerings. Recommend a visit if you love pastries.
