"Boichik Bagels continues its conquest of the Bay Area with a new location at 2050 Wyatt Drive in Santa Clara. The shop opened on Thursday, December 7, the Mercury News reports, and is the "largest retail shop to date" to come from Boichik owner Emily Winston. Big fat delicious bagel is here. Location is a bit small, but they serve good food. I am here several times, love the food, good for take-out.

I love baking various types of bread, so tried Boichik Bagels in Santa Clara, newly opened bagel shop in Silicon Valley. I visited there early morning and found it to be not too crowded. I ordered three different kinds of bagels to-go, without toasting, but had to wait for more than what we expected. Since we were waiting a long time, we expected to have a freshly baked, warm bagels due to the long wait, but unfortunately they were not. However, the taste of those bagels were good, and it inspired me to bake my own bagels at home.

Outstanding bagels!!! Such fast service, order online and my order is always ready a few minutes later, so don’t listen to the toast app timing it will give you longer time than it actually is. The employees are super nice and efficient! I am eating the daily special tuna fish as we speak and it is the freshest lightest tuna salad I’ve ever had!!! I had a cream cheese bagel the other day and they don’t skimp on the cream cheese one bit. When you walk in you can go to your left to order in store or right to pick up your order- my only gripe is no one is readily helping online orders so you kinda gotta flag someone down and tell them you ordered on line. Also an area of improvement is again for pick up orders, the bagel maker makes the order then puts it on a bottom shelf on the back area vs up front next to them, lots of walking back and forth. Online ordering is so fast, the person in front of me was taking their sweet time to order, I placed my order while waiting in line and it was ready a min later. There’s seating outside if you wanna stay and enjoy your bagel.

If I didn’t live in NYC most of the time, my review might be different - it’s hard not to compare! The Good: There’s a great variety of bagel choices here and the spreads are good from what I’ve tried. The shop itself has a nice atmosphere. The Meh: The size and texture of these bagels are nothing like what you’d get in NYC… and they are way more expensive at $3 a pop (a really good ‘expensive’ bagel in NYC would be around $2). Again, I know it’s probably not fair to compare the bagels themselves, but I do think the price point could use some adjusting given the noticeable difference in taste and size.

Google
I come get bagels here every week. Now why would I do that ? These are the BEST bagels I’ve had in the area. My husband and I used to try a different bagel place each week when we first moved here trying to find the best one, and lucky you, you’ve found the winner. The ingredients are top notch, they do not cut corners. I get a tomato on my sandwich and it’s heirloom. This is what you can expect from a fine establishment such as Boichik.

Google
The bagels are very average and folks who work here think it’s a great idea to dump a whole tub of cream cheese into each tiny bagel. I have no idea why the wait times are so long either… sadly prefer a bagel from Starbucks over this.

Google
I didn’t have an extraordinary experience. I mean, the bagels were good but I think the menu could use some boosting. For instance, in NY the bagel places usually have more breakfast bagel with eggs and cheese and stuff. Boichik has good spreads, lox, egg salad and tuna salad. So maybe my expectations were set too high. The toasting wasn’t very much. Barely warm and not crispy. And they put a LOT of spread if you like that. I do like they have outdoor seating. Pricey of you get the protein add-ons.

I was so excited to see Boichik in the South Bay! I've had the frozen bagels delivered via Locale before but, since Locale stopped doing it, I had been missing Boichik. And now, not only can I stock my freezer again, I can also try out the "local only" options like the Eggthing bagel (a cross between an egg and everything bagel). I also ordered it toasted and schmeered with a Hatch Chile cream cheese. It was everything I had hoped for! Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Everyone was very polite and helpful had a everything bagel ( first time ) it was with cream cheese and delicious I recommend trying them out nice quite little place on a Sunday three thumbs up

Yelp
The best bagel in the Bay Area. Periodddt. I didn't use to be a person that really cared about bagels. I enjoyed them, but didn't really care enough to prefer one spot over another. The first time I got Boichik, I thought it was pretty good - but way too big and difficult to it. I think once we nailed down the order... everything changed. HIGHLIGHTS: + The freshest lox + Freshest vegetables. Cucumbers are crisp. Tomatoes are juicy yet firm. + BAGELS. Are amazing. Fluffy, soft.. just YUM + Friendly service! I was waiting with my pup outside when my husband was getting our order and they offered him a huge beef strip. Like not a cheap milk bone.... full on gourmet status even for the free dog treats lol. + Bonus tip - get everything seasoning inside the bagel. Soooo good. Things to keep in mind: - HUGE servings. Order light spread (you'll still get more than enough). Get extra napkins. Consider splitting an order if you don't want to enter a food coma. - Pricey $$ but 100% worth it. Lines are never long at this location when we've come on the weekend (I've walked by a location in SF and the line was insane). You can also order ahead if you are in a rush!

Yelp
Solid bagels Hard to find a good bagel in the bay but this place has them. They have the classic offerings with a good variety of cream cheese. Their bagels are well sized with a great crust and chewy interior. Their customer service is also excellent - they messed up my order and gave me a new one right away. At $3 a bagel, it is a bit pricey but given quality and freshness, price can be justified

Hannah C.

Yelp
I want to start with the customer service is amazing and I loved how friendly everyone was from entering the store to handing off your order. It was truly a welcoming experience and even though I had 900 questions, they answered every single one of them and made me feel confident in my order. 5-Stars for customer service and just general kindness from the staff that I saw overall as they helped several customers. The bagel situation - I think the hype made me have to give it 4 stars. I was expecting life changing, it's a bagel. I will saw it was softer than I expected. Their choices are very simple and slim and their menu is slim so there are not crazy combos and alterations. The cream cheese - 3 stars. It was a good try on their parts to create different cream cheese options but every single one of them is so bland, and the ratio of bagel to cream cheese is nuts. Way too much cream cheese. I was disappointed that the Hatch Green Chili cream cheese had no kick and I could barely taste the chilies. Overall 4 stars because the experience is great, but I think there are better options. I tried their Lox Sandwich which is my go to everywhere and it was 3 stars. I think the cream cheese overpowered everything and just becomes the only flavor. It's also very skimp on the lox considering it's $16 for this sandwich. It's a fat sandwich that is heavy, but the flavor just isn't there.

Erika C.

Yelp
The first time I had it, I thought it was fine, not worth the hype. But later found myself returning again and again. They're consistent and the fillings are generous. Friendly, helpful staff. Easy to use online ordering menu, and orders are made quickly. I have tried the malt coffee twice and it's not for me. Everything else is great.

Sandee L.

Yelp
I raved about Boichik Bagels almost a year ago when we got them for a family gathering during Christmas at their OG Berkeley location. Fast forward to present times: we got three bagels to go. Not only were they devoid of the crispy crunch on the bottom which I thought made them super special, they were overall dense, hard and overly chewy. All three were like this, but the egg bagel was the worst. At $3 a pop, I could have done better at Willy's, Bagel Street...or daresay even Costco!

Juliet T.

Yelp
This bagel shop is great for cream cheese lovers! The pricing is pretty crazy, but I'm glad they pack the bagel with cream cheese and toppings. I ordered a build-your-own bagel with an everything bagel, red onions, daikon sprouts, chive cream cheese, and Nova Lox. The Nova Lox tasted good, was smooth, and didn't have much fishiness. A bit salty but tasted good when paired with everything else in the bagel. This wouldn't be my first choice for bagels, but I would stop by here for convenience!

Alexis T.

Yelp
If you love 3 servings of cream cheese on your singular bagel, this is the place for you. In all seriousness, I like the bagel, I have no complaints, but wow do they give you a ton of cream cheese. If I were to come again in the future with someone, I would probably order 1 bagel with cream cheese, and 1 without, and split the cream cheese in half.

Lisa Y.

Yelp
A nice addition to Santa Clara! Located in a nice plaza with other shops and eateries, this location is easy to access, and there's usually plenty of parking available. The area for ordering is a bit small, since most of the building is dedicated to kitchen space, but even if you need to stand outside, someone will usually come out to shout out your name if there's no more standing room inside. I also like that they have an an outdoor eating area for you to enjoy your bagel. It can get a little drafty here though, just fyi. My go-to order is "The Classic," which is nova lox, chive cream cheese, tomato, red onion, and capers on your choice of bagel. $16 plus tax does feel a bit hefty for a bagel, but I will say, they really load it up! Definitely the most cream cheese I've ever seen slathered on a bagel! There's also a good amount of lox. Overall, super filling! They offer daily specials, usually a sandwich, drink, and seasonal cream cheese, so make sure you check those out! One of there seasonal cream cheeses was a Sundried Tomato Pesto, and it was soo good! I hope they consider making this one a permanent addition to the menu!

Yelp
Nice to find the famous NY bagels in Santa Clara! You enter, make your order and then wait on the other side of the place. I took the classic bagel with smoked salmon and sesame bun which cost $16 + tips. But you can arrange the bagel at your choice. Only drip coffee is available. There is outdoor seating only. Nice and clean restrooms. Friendly staff. I also love the choice of music in the location. They open pretty early, so it is a really nice spot to have an early breakfast on the weekends with friends or stop by with the colleague for brunch.

Lloyd C.

Yelp
I've had "The Classic" at their Palo Alto location. The Classic: Nova lox and chive cream cheese with tomato, red onion, and capers (4/5). I chose to get it on a toasted Everything bagel. Deliciously messy sandwich, but oh so good. Service was friendly and quick.

Tony B.

Yelp
Definitely meets all the hype and expectations! The freshness and flavors were noticed. Service was very kind to separate bagels that were more vulnerable to absorbing flavors unlike themselves. All my co-workers devoured them by mid-morning. One note of caution, massive amount of cream cheese to the point that I could not taste my bagel. Others had similar complaints so I would suggest asking for it on the side if you order a premade item. Salmon was also perfect BTW. Not really a place to dine in so plan on grabbing your dozen and heading out.

Jessamine A.

Yelp
Friendly staff and quick service. So glad it opened next to the AC hotel. There weren't any breakfast options besides Starbucks. Their bagels have the chewy center and crunchy exterior. So fresh and delicious! The outside seating is perfect to hang out at on a sunny day.

Janet N.

Yelp
If you like your cream cheese with a side of bagel, you've come to the right place! Menu is straight to the point and have a good variety of bagels and shmears! Heard great things about this spot and figured to give it a go. From bagel sandwiches to a an everything bagel with a classic shmear, you can say I am a bagel fan! My latest bagel finding and newest obsession is Boil & Bake in Costa Mesa. And don't get me wrong, I've had a more than healthy helping to them in New York as well. So I was excited to hear about Boichik here in the Bay Area. Upon entering the small shop and open kitchen, I was curious what their popular items were and/or the personal favorites by the staff working the register. They recommended their Lox bagel, but not being in a mood for fish on a hot day, opted for the recommendation of an Egg Bagel with sun dried tomato pesto cream cheese with avocado- which in retrospect I could have done without as it did nothing texturally. Their serving of cream cheese is PLENTY in comparison to the bagel, though I did enjoy the texture and chew of the bagel itself. I love a generous helping of cream cheese, but wow, it's a lot! While enjoying my bagel I thought, I guess there is such thing as too much of a good thing. Egg bagel $3 + Seasonal Cream Cheese $3 + Avocado $2 = $8 Once ordered it didn't take long for my name to be called and my food to be brought out. Service was pleasant and I like the outdoor seating. Would I come back? Maybe if I was hankering for a tasty bagel and in the area, but unfortunately I would not go out of my way. Price point is steep for the bagel I was recommended, would probably stick to the classics for future reference.

Yelp
1000% my favorite place to go to after my Saturday morning workout! I typically get the classic & cold brew chocolate malt. YUM. I read somewhere folks complaining about the price but lox in general is expensive. IYKYK. ANYWHO...In addition, I always have a bag of their frozen bagels in my freezer just because. Their bagels are delicious! This is going to sound so strange, but I love the plain bagel the best. I love the texture & taste to it. Gives me the happy dance! Second place definitely goes to their everything bagel. Service & staff are really friendly. If you go on a weekend morning, just be patient. There's usually a crowd of folks getting their bagel fixings in. There's outdoor seating. But that's pretty much it! Super casual. Again, I come here right after my workout so I typically look like a hot mess.

Stephanie L.

Yelp
I've been to the Palo Alto location, but I think the Santa Clara one is better! The staff are very friendly and there's plenty of outdoor seating outside. The area around here is really clean and they also have a bathroom! Parking is easy as well. I love the bagels and spreads here! They're very generous with the portions too. I highly recommend getting their lox on any of their bagels :)

Katelyn D.

Yelp
O V E R V I E W: I've been to the town & country village a few times but never hit up this bagel place! finding parking was actually HORRENDOUS. we had to circle around a bunch of times before finding a spot, but eventually we did! F O O D: *everything bagel with plain cream cheese, nova lox, and cucumber: 10/10. this was actually so bomb. it was a perfect amount of everything. the smoked salmon was so so good and the cucumber added a next level freshness to the bagel. one bagel is definitely super filling and for someone who has a small appetite, half a bagel was enough for lunch. A D D I T I O N A L: the bagel was $14.50 which is definitely pricy for a bagels. the nova lox was delicious though so i can see why a bagel like this could cost so much. I've never been to other places like "house of bagels" but i believe their options are much more affordable -- not sure how their quality is in comparison but just something to note!

Francis T.

Yelp
NAHHHH, I've heard some crazy good things about this place and my friends hyped it like crazy. Came there and $16 for a bagel with smoke salmon is crazy. I would rather make that myself . It was also a bit salty and it was pretty small. Vibes was like very modern bagel shop in a corporate area. Service was good though and I don't know if I would come back.

Rheanna C.

Yelp
Finally got to try Boichik Bagels, which was hyped up for it's generous use of cream cheese filling. I got there pretty early on a Wednesday morning so there was no line and service was very attentive. The inside was very big with a nice, open kitchen so you can see them baking fresh bagels. However, the customer area is pretty small and unfortunately has no seats or tables. Now onto the bagels themselves! Their menu options are pretty limited compared to other bagel shops, which I was pretty disappointed about because I was really craving a Jalapeño bagel LOL. I ordered a Classic Bagel ($16) that came with a thick slab of cream cheese and a likewise amount of lox and capers. Since they didn't have a veggie sandwich option on their menu, the worker was kind enough to customize one for me and it came out to be $8. The garlic bagel that was in both sandwiches was full of flavor and had that strong garlicky taste that my breathe reminded me of for the next few hours haha. As for the plain cream cheese, it was very creamy with a good, thick consistency. The veggie bagel sandwich was very filling and it's contents were very fresh. The Classic Bagel was the main attraction and was heartily stuffed with lox and cream cheese. The lox was not fishy whatsoever, which is probably because it's high quality. To sum it up, Boichik Bagels has really tasty bagels but due to the expensive prices and lack of menu options, I don't see myself coming here pretty often. However, if you're looking for a high quality lox sandwich, definitely swing by!

Yelp
I recently visited Boichik Bagels, and while the experience had its ups and downs, I left feeling pretty satisfied overall. First off, be prepared for a long wait! I went on a busy Saturday morning, and the line seemed never-ending. I understand that good things take time, but if you're in a rush, you might want to consider going at a less busy time. Now, onto the coffee--while it wasn't anything extraordinary, it did the job. Just a decent cup to accompany my meal. Honestly, I was more focused on the bagels anyway! Speaking of bagels, they are undeniably fresh! I ordered a bagel with egg and cheese, and it was delightful. Warm, fluffy, and just the right amount of cheesy goodness. The bagel itself was soft and had that perfect chewy texture--definitely a highlight of my visit. In summary, if you can manage the wait, the bagels are absolutely worth it. I'll definitely be back for another round, but maybe I'll try to go during a quieter time next time!

GiGi G.

Yelp
If you haven't tried Boichick yet, here's your excuse. Please note Rosh Hashanah specials need to be pre-ordered. Pick up some bagels, bialys and green chile schmear too!

Iris Z.

Yelp
New York-style bagels in the Bay! When I went to pick up lunch from Mendocino Farms, I saw this new bagel shop that opened next door and I was intrigued because I never heard of this place before. I decided to come back because I did want to try it since I do love a good bagel for breakfast and I had time to kill before work and being that this was less than a minute drive from work, I decided why not? I opted for the The Classic on a garlic bagel. I also ordered a regular ice coffee with oat milk. The Classic came with Nova lox, chive cream cheese, tomato, capers, and red onions. I was so surprised when I unwrapped the bagel because it was so thick! I have never seen a bagel with this much cream cheese and lox in a lox bagel before. However since it was so packed and big, it was a little messy eating it but it was definitely worth it. I love when a bagel comes with a variety of toppings so I also really enjoyed the crunch of onions with the salty capers. The iced coffee was okay but do note that they only sell black coffee and they don't have sweeteners for the coffee, just sugar packets. If you do not want to opt in for their menu bagels, you can also make your own bagel and they have many bagel options and sides and fix-ins for you to make your perfect bagel sandwich. It was $20 for my coffee + bagel however I do think that it was pretty worth it considering how generous they were with the cream cheese and lox! I definitely will come back to try their other bagels.

Will B.

Yelp
Boichick Bagels in Santa Clara serves up authentic, NYC-style bagels that are fresh, chewy, and perfectly crispy. They have a wide of bagels and cream cheese. Every bagel I've tried so far has been delicious--generous portions of cream cheese and a perfectly toasted bagel. The service is quick, and while it can get busy, the quality justifies the slightly higher prices. A great spot for a tasty bagel fix!

Cindy M.

Yelp
Had an urge to try this place because who wouldn't want to try what looked like New York style bagels. The pumpernickel with caraway salt was very satisfying. Plus all the good stuff like cucumber, sprouts and even vegan cream cheese. I even enjoyed the cup of decaf coffee with a splash of oat milk.

Kristine F.

Yelp
I went to Boichik back in January on a chilly winter morning, kinda like today actually. I didn't get a chance to try any bagels in NYC and really wanted to visit Russ & Daughters. Not the biggest fan of smoked salmon on bagels, I prefer thin slices on water crackers with a dab of cream cheese. It's a texture thing for me. Heard good things about this place and they're popping up everywhere! *Pumperthingle bagel + plain cream cheese & raspberry jam but got a regular pumpernickel instead Definitely check your order before leaving. Friends got egg salad; it gets quite messy. So here's the deal: these bagels are thicc and don't have to be toasted so they're dense. Maybe it's just a California thing to get thinner, toasted yet still soft bagels. We're spoiled over here. They slather on the cream cheese, like an inch thick in the middle. The raspberry jam was a tad sweet. Order at the counter and they'll call out your number. Employees seemed a bit tired Monday morning. Shop is bright and clean though. Check out the frozen bagels to take home. Would I come back? Yes, to try an actual pumperthingle bagel or classic everything. I did enjoy the cold brew iced tea of the day in blood orange flavor. No added sugar so sprinkle on a packet if you want it sweet.

Breanna N.

Yelp
You are my everything! Experience (4/5 stars): *Food: built my own bagel -- onion bagel, toasted, with the seasonal cream cheese cc green garlic. Tasted good, a little too much cream cheese but you can easily just take some off. The bialy is worth a try if you like caramelized onion! *Price: $3 for a bagel, $1.5 - $3 for spread, 50 cents for veggies. You can also choose any of the premade options under the Boichik Essentials *Service: friendly Overall, I'd recommend coming here for some morning bagels!

Leon C.

Yelp
Not a bad place for bagels at all, came by during a Friday morning and it's pretty packed! Luckily I was able to get my bagel pretty quick and the service here is absolutely amazing. I ordered a nova lox bagel which was suppose to be New York style so I definitely had to give it a try. The nova lox (4/5) came with an everything bagel (you get to choose your own!), cream cheese, capers, chives, onion, and salmon. I have to say that they do not skimp out on the smoked salmon, I was surprised there was a lot left after even finishing the bagel itself. The only feedback I would give is that the cream cheese is very heavy and they an insane amount. It almost took away most of the flavor from the bagel itself due to the amount of cream cheese they put. Luckily, everything else was super fresh and delicious! Overall, not a bad place to get some nice fresh bagels in the morning. I would order less cream cheese if I were a lox again! I Would be coming back to try their other menu items!

Melanie H.

Yelp
These are really just your average bagel. I think they were overhyped on social media tbh. The bagels are pretty hard to chew and not really toasted (even when requested) to enjoy. The only thing that makes these "New York style" is that they generously fill up the bagels with cream cheese. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. However, the lox was delicious and I'd want to have it again if I'm around this area again. BYO NOVA LOX BAGEL ($15): 3/5 + My order: everything bagel, chive cream cheese, nova lox, red onions + Lox was amazing! Super buttery and fresh. Honestly this is a 5/5 itself - they are so generous with the lox + Chive CC was basically a plain CC with very few green onions. Save the dollar and get plain CC instead + My issue with this was mostly the bagel. It's way too doughy and really unenjoyable to chew. The exterior was barely toasted and the thick, not so toasted interior makes biting really tough. I had to put effort into eating every bite of this

Denise L.

Yelp
Was in the area and found this new bagel shop nearby. Got there around 11:30 AM on a Sunday and there was no line to order. For a bagel with cream cheese at $5, super reasonable, especially nowadays! There were a couple orders in front of us, so grabbed a table outside while we waited. I had heard and seen photos of the generous amount of cream cheese and they truly do slather a lot on! The everything bagel with the horseradish cheddar scallion was delicious! Light on the horseradish flavor, but still super yummy.

Winnie V.

Yelp
Boichik makes a solid lox bagel sandwich! Despite have lived in New York for a few years, I don't have a super refined taste in bagels. To me, all bagels pretty much taste the same and are a mere vessel for cream cheese and lox (or alternatively, eggs, sausage, and cheese). What I do like about Boichik is their variety in bagels - like I can get my two fave types of bagels (pumpernickel and cinnamon raisin - I know I'm weird) combined into one?! Amazing! My only qualm is that Boichik puts too much cream cheese!! It's practically an inch thick! Ok I'm exaggerating, but it's a lot of cream cheese! But then when you get light spread, it's too little. T___T I just want the Goldilocks perfect amount... until then, I'll take the regular amount and the extra I guess.

Katie N.

Yelp
Delicious NYC style bagels. I thought the bagels themselves were perfect, the cream cheeses were also very good. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have more options for a typical breakfast sandwich with egg/bacon/etc. The choices they do have are more of the authentic lox, white fish, etc but not for everyone. A few more options could be good. I got an everything bagel with the chive cream cheese (highly recommend), and some veggies. It was very good. Prices were very reasonable. Come check out their cute storefront and outdoor patio seating.

Cin-Yee S.

Yelp
Sorry, I mistakenly called the owner Emily Watson, instead of Emily Winston. Apologies! But her bagels by any other name would be just as toothsome and incredible. Yesterday, I brought a few to my neighbor who hails from New York, and she raved. She couldn't believe these were made in California. I don't need to understand the magic - I only need to be able to spread cream cheese on it. Thank you for sharing your gift, Emily!

Sarah M.

Yelp
Super excited to see Boichik opened up a shop in the south bay! Service was quick, but their menu was difficult to navigate as it's just printed on a paper by the register. The bagel topping and sandwich options are limited, so if you are hoping for a breakfast/eggs sandwich bagel this isn't the place for you. If you're a simple toasted bagel person then yes this is a great spot! Bagels are tasty and good quality. Outdoor seating only, with limited space inside for just a short line at the counter. That being said, I am by no means a bagel expert. I've never had a "proper" NY bagel so I can't compare. However, I do love good everything bagel and Boichik definitely has a great everything bagel. Bagels(just the bagel, no spread) = 5/5 Sandwiches or with spread= 3/5 Why 3/5 when adding spread? Because it is THICC!! Way too much cream cheese. I enjoy the taste of the bagel, so to me cream cheese is secondary. Here the cream cheese OVERPOWERS the bagel. Solid inch to inch and a half of cream cheese. MESSY and challenging to eat! I would never attempt to eat one of their sandwiches in a public setting because it was impossible to take a bite without getting cream cheese all over my face. Next time, I'll probably ask for cream cheese on the side so I can add it myself to my liking. That is my personal preference - my partner thoroughly enjoyed the hefty spread of cream cheese on his bagel and rated it 5/5.

Jackie R.

Yelp
Hubby has heard incredibly things about Boichik and even for myself, I've been wanting to try it for the longest time so we finally decided to go. We ordered half a dozen bagels, cream cheese, and two class bagels - 1 with everything and the other with no onions, which was also reflected on the receipt. When hubby paid, he selected "no tip" on the screen since we drove there to purchase. My hubby is the nicest person ever and NEVER complains about poor service or bad food. He just always brushes it off and doesn't badmouth anyone. However, he did mention that when he selected "no tip" on the screen, the cashier gave him a really dirty look and sneered at him. Like I said, usually this kind of stuff doesn't bother him but he said it made him incredibly uncomfortable but because the prices at Boichik are higher than what we pay for from other bagel shops and it wasn't delivered to us, he didn't tip and felt there was judgment from the cashier for that. As someone who has previously worked at a bagel shop, you should never make the customer feel terrible for not tipping. With anticipation, we opened our sandwiches and found that one bagel did in fact have onions. One side had rings of onion while the other had little pieces of onion embedded. My husband said he guessed it was the cashier who was visibly upset that he didn't tip, which is ridiculous. I docked one star for the pricing, one star for making our order incorrectly, and two stars for the judgment from the cashier. We will not be returning.

Yelp
Huge fan of bagels and especially a huge fan of fresh New York style bagels! This location is super popular and gets quite busy. Luckily it's in a location with plenty of parking and they even have a couple tables outside so you can enjoy your bagels. They have a variety of different bagels and different toppings so you can make your dream bagel. If that's too much work, they also have speciality bagels you can order from! I chose an onion bagel with lox spread, while my boyfriend chose their classic with an everything bagel. Both our bagels were packed with lox cream cheese - especially his with the additional toppings. Overall, we both enjoyed our choices, I felt like his was alot (both in taste and price) and he thought mine was too simple. Regardless, we were happy with our delicious bagels. My only gripe is that is a bit steep in terms of price.

Yelp
Deli style NY style bagels made in Berkeley. They have daily specials including seasonal cream cheeses. I ordered the Mensch, on sesame bagel. This includes whitefish salad, tomato and cucumber. Flavor was pretty good, wet texture and slightly sloppy. I also ordered a coffee but they only have one size and it is SMALL. UGH. And for some odd reason, they ask if you want cream/sweetener but they only add the cream and give you the sweetener packet. It also took a noticeably long time to come up with a pretty simple order. Not sure if I want to return. That's all.

Yelp
This new Santa Clara location at Mission Park Marketplace marks Boichick's fifth location. Boichick has the Bay Area pretty much covered. First opened in the East Bay (Berkeley), then the North Bay (Larkspur) and the Peninsula (Palo Alto). And now down in the South Bay (Santa Clara). Bagels are fresh with a nice chew. That said, I still personally prefer bagels from some of favorite NYC spots. Come prepared...it's cashless here! One thing...please make it possible to purchase a small size of cream cheese on the side. You can get cream cheese smeared inside your bagel, but cannot order a small side to place it on yourself. I like having the option of being able to spread on as much or little cream cheese as I like. I purchased just one bagel for myself, so buying the regular size of cream cheese didn't make sense. I was told they aren't able to sell the smaller size because they didn't have small containers available. However, I know from experience that they DO have the small containers available at their Berkeley location. Please bring the small containers from the Berkeley store over to Santa Clara? A few outdoors available. No indoor seating. Oh, and if I'm translating properly (coming from a shiksa lol), boichick refers to a cute little boy. Think of squeezing the cheeks of a boichick. I always liked that term and I always liked how they chose to name the store :)

Yelp
Boichik bagels has been one of my favorite bagel spots on the east coast. Upon learning Boichik bagels was coming to Santa Clara, I almost had a heart attack from excitement. Given that west coasters aren't familiar with the term 'New York style' = Bagels (Everything Bagel or a bagel of choice by is double toasted and butter and cream cheese is added to the bagel ) I've made it my mini mission to bring the west coast on how to order a proper bagel...New York style folks! The crunchy on the outside, soft interior is what makes a bagels! Service here is always friendly and has turned into my Sunday morning tradition. Really looking forward to getting to know the staff during my weekly visit and that amazing bagel. Lines do get long at times and recommend going early. As the bagel shop closes daily around 2.

Yelp
Trying to capture the essence of New York bagels is no easy feat, Boichik Bagels does a decent job, but there are some areas they can improve upon. The staff is friendly but appears somewhat overwhelmed. Also, the Boichik Bagels process isn't clearly explained; it's unclear whether the bagels are made in-house or sourced elsewhere, as I observed numerous bags of bagels. Bagels everywhere! I went for the Everything, Cinnamon Raisin, and a Gluten-Free bagel to go, with a wait time of approximately 15 minutes. Of course theres a line, its a new place silly! As someone who lived in New York, I gotta keep it real, the bagels were decent but didn't quite reach the level of those found in NYC. Yet I was pleasantly surprised by the gluten-free option, which avoided the cardboard-like taste often associated with gluten-free stuff. Overall, nothing was particularly disappointing, but nothing stood out either. The experience felt somewhat ordinary, you can definitely find bagels like this elsewhere. Despite all of this, I'm willing to give Boichick Bagels another shot, I still have to try out their toppings and other bagels. Not bad, Boichik, keep it working at it!

Yelp
I'm giving 3 stars although it could be 4 with a few changes. My reasons for liking this place are the Generous amounts of cream cheese they put on the bagels!!! Like almost too much! But I'd rather have to scrape a little off than wish I had more. Far too many bagel shops are way too stingy with the cream cheese. The things I feel they could do better at would be Toasting the bagels longer. It's gotta have Crunch people! It can't be so soft and uncooked! Also provide a Garlic and Herb cream cheese (personally my fav) or other flavors really. Oh and also provide Bagel dogs! You can't be a bagel shop without bagel dogs!! And beware the lines are long! I guess that proves people love this place, but I do see room for improvement. And for those reasons I've only been here twice, and probably will continue to go to a spot w bagel dogs and garlic n herb spread. But maybe I'm just too picky.‍

Yelp
Boichik Bagels has been my go to for all things bagels related but their locations were a little too far for me to frequent regularly. Very happy to see them open their first South Bay location that makes it so much easier to get my bagel fix moving forward! This is such a great, prime location for the lunch rush as it's situated near office and residential areas on a busy street near the freeway entrances and exits. I've never been disappointed with the quality and freshness of their products. I love the variety they have and hope they continue to add to their menu as time goes on. My go to is their lox bagel for a quick lunch to go. Tip: I recommend coming slightly before noon or after 1pm to avoid the craziness of the plaza. Also note they close pretty early compared to other businesses.

Yelp
Boichik bagels is convieniently located in the same plaza as starbucks, mendocino farms, etc. People say it's comparable to authentic NY bagels.... so let's see what the hype is about! I got there around 10am and the line wasn't long. Got the lox bagel and opted out for an ingredient (i forgot the name) because I wasn't familiar with what it was. SUPERRRR SALTY! They packed too much cream cheese and the salmon was salty already as well. I needed to head to starbucks to get a water. Service was okay considering it was a weekend. They have a very small waiting area inside and some chairs and tables to sit outside. I wish we could adjust the cream cheese.... Other than that I will not go back because it was way too expensive for what it was, and the bagel was hard. The bagel was cut in half but only at 90% of the way, not fully cut either. Kinda messy eating this as it was packed! No restroom at this store btw.

Yelp
A new bagel joint opened in the Mission Park/Under the Grid plaza. It's an excellent addition to the area since there aren't many bagel shops on that side of town, north of 101. I decided to grab a bagel sandwich after a workout and try Boichik Bagels. SERVICE Friendly staff and answered all the questions I had. INTERIOR/ORDERING Upon entrance, there's a spacious lobby area. There are two registers for check-out. Immediately to your left is a short hallway to the restroom. The layout of the front is not as organized as it should be. There are two entrances/exits on either side of the lobby area, not a place for pick-up. They take your name down when you order and call it when your order is ready, but I can only imagine when it's bustling how that will work out. FOOD The menu has a good amount of options! There are a ton of different cream cheese spreads and types of bagels. There is even a Kite Hill vegan spread option with three flavors: plain, strawberry, and chives. They also have three Boichik Essentials (sandwiches) with one rotating daily special if you don't want to build your bagel. I ordered the Everything Bagel (toasted) with Tuna Salad, Red Onions, and Tomatoes. My order came out quickly, and it was delicious. I'll be back to try more stuff!!!

Yelp
It's finally here!!! I've been driving to the Palo Alto location but glad this location finally opened up and so close to us. Boichik has definitely ruined bagels for me, crisp on the outside, chewy on the inside other bagels don't even come close to the fine balance that Boichik has managed to perfect. I was worried it would be busy and packed on opening day but maybe the word hasn't spread yet. I was able to drive up at 10am and there was no line. Plenty of parking at this huge new location. I ordered their Special of the Day: pastrami lox, hatch chile cream cheese, red onion, sprouts, and capers on a plain bagel. As well as The Classic: Nova Lox, chive cream cheese, tomato, red onion & capers on an onion bagel. Between the 2 sandwiches I definitely enjoyed The Classic, I'm not sure if the tomato just balanced the whole sandwich out but something about the classic flavors was refreshing. We also got a container of the egg salad, hatch chile cream cheese, everything bagel, plain, and 2 onion bagels. The onion bagels here are definitely a must if you like onions. The egg salad is a nice way to enjoy some protein in the morning and the hatch chile cream cheese is my go to cream cheese along with the lox spread. You can also order online to avoid the lines. I imagine this place will be packed on the weekends. Glad they are finally open so close to us I will be back to try their seasonal schmear apple ginger. If you purchase 11 bagels the 12th bagel is free!

Yelp
First off, the staff here were really nice! Even at closing they were smiling, which says a lot given how busy I'm sure it is. I got a salt and pepper bagel, toasted, with lox cream cheese and daikon sprouts. It came out to $7, $8 with tip. The bagel was perfect. However, there was TOO MUCH CREAM CHEESE! I was trying to eat it without getting my hands dirty but to no avail. I'd order with less spread if you're not interested in eating solid bites of cream cheese only. (See pic for reference.) However, this won't stop me from coming back!

Yelp
Yep! You buy a bagel with lox and cream cheese and guess what!!! You actually get enough of each to claim substance! Clean nice little hang I will be back for a breakfast bagel deal soon !!!

Yelp
So happy to see this place open up in Santa Clara! Even better is you can order ahead and pick it up instead of waiting--highly recommend! They just opened early December so the staff is still getting trained, but everything was great!! Will have to try the iced coffee next time! Ordered the classic bagel, which is kinda $$ but so worth it!

Yelp
There are ok to terrible bagels in California and these bagels aren't quite as bad as those. I'm still looking for a great bagel with a nice crust and chewy interior. I got a bag of a dozen to freeze for later (because I was hoping they'd live up to their claim of being like NY bagels) and tried a bit of the bialy. It was also ok. Was pleased to have the Kite Hill vegan option (3 flavors!) and personally prefer getting it on the side since I don't like a lot. They gave me enough to have with 3-4 bagels. The search continues...

Yelp
Came by this morning after seeing all the hype around their new location! Clean inside, with only outdoor seating. Surprisingly, the line wasn't long at ~10am -- but not for long! As soon as we ordered, the line was out the door. Staff was friendly, patient, and willing to answer our questions thoughtfully. We ordered: -Pumperthingle bagel with horseradish cheddar chive cream cheese, added daikon sprouts and cucumber -Garlic bagel with lox cream cheese, added cucumber -2 iced coffees Coffees are nothing special, will try their chocolate one next time. But the bagels, AMAZING. This is my new favorite bagel shop in the South Bay, and i will be back. In fact, I might stop by tomorrow morning to pick up a 6-pack of customizable bagels and more of that horseradish cream cheese. Yum!!
