First time at Boiler House at the Pearl and it was amazing - 5 stars all around! Food was spectacular, had a ton of gluten free options and was pleased with everything we ordered. Our waiter Darren was exceptional, went above and beyond, knew the menu super well and was extremely accommodating (and knowledgable) with all of my food allergies and any dietary requests and adjustments. Definitely made our experience memorable and awesome and we will no doubt be back again very soon!!

Google
Country paté appetizer, pork schnitzel entreé very nice. The brussel sprouts and crispy schnitzel with a nice sauce was very good. The paté came with a nice mustard foil. Third or fourth visit tonight, our waitress, Cynthia was an absolute delight, flawless service. The pork schnitzel remains an all time favorite. Appetizer tonight was the roasted beets with goat cheese strawberries and mint. The standout was the special, sweet tea smoked chicken with cilantro rice. The chef, Justin, explained it's soaked in the marinade brine for two days, flavor permeates every bite. We begged for it to be a regular on the menu. A memorable meal you should try!

Absolutely pleased with The Boiler House and their ability to accommodate our 25 person group on relatively short notice! The attention to detail is top notch! Everything tasted like fresh off the farm including one of the best salads I've had in a long time. The short ribs were insanely tender, braised by wizardy and absolutely the best I've ever savagely devoured. I am touched by this experience in San Antonio and I hope they continue to win the hearts of all who are blessed enough to be in their neighborhood!

We absolutely love eating at the Boilerhouse whenever we are able to get a date night together. Our server, Cynthia was absolutely outstanding and went above and beyond to make our date night extra special! The service was amazing, all of the food was incredible, the chef’s special Gazpacho was so unique and delicious. Truly an experience we won’t forget! Highly recommend eating here and asking for Cynthia as your server if you’re wanting an extra special experience.

This was our first time dining at Boiler House, and we were blown away! Lucas was our server and he was absolutely wonderful—kind, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. The food was incredible! The grilled chicken was juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, and the burger was just as impressive. You can really taste the quality and care in every bite. Five stars all around—highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back!

Service was great! Maya was friendly, knowledgeable, and very attractive. Loved the location and the rustic beauty of this restaurant. Only bad thing, my burger was over cooked. But over all good. Loved the draft beer created here 👌

Google
Wow, first off the service was absolutely incredible and made the entire difference in my experience, Menko is a first class bartender. The meatballs lacked a little flavor but the sauce made each bite pop in my mouth. Will also be back to give the rest of the menu a try. The quality team work of the employees made all the difference when someone is busy there was always someone else to step in and help, thank you boiler house and thank you to Menko for my my date night special

Yelp
What a beautiful experience! Every time I dine at the Boiler House I always leave with high spirits, smile on my face, and spiritually satisfied tummy; Darren, our waiter, has waited on us 2 out of the 4 times we've gone and has become a fast friend, he goes beyond expectations of timing, punctuality, attention to detail, and flawless service; he's always very friendly and quick to conversation. The ambiance and layout are so organic, it's nice when the food and the staff are all in harmony. Couldn't recommend enough! Thank you Darren, and thank you Boiler House for always making us feel at home! best of wishes!

Brynn R.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I absolutely love this restaurant. We go for every special occasion and definitely is one of our top favorite dinner places in SA. Tonight we were served by Darren and he made the experience even more special. He treated us wonderfully and checked on us regularly with a big smile every time. The hostess and other staff is just as wonderful. The steaks are THE BEST in San Antonio and their outdoor seating is a great way to experience the pearl. I highly recommend their whipped potatoes as a side, I crave them on the regular. All in all an amazing dining experience every single time we go.

Yelp
As a 15 year plus downtown resident, this is our backyard. With 30 plus years in the hospitality field (now retired) I feel I can bring you real insight into our locations. The good, the bad and the ugly. If we run across a serious issue, I will always go directly to management and not post it. I truly believe you always must give management an opportunity to correct a serious issue. If not corrected and or just ignored, then I feel it is correct to inform the public - professionally. No establishment is perfect. I will bring to you smaller hiccups we may have come across. I will rarely comment on the taste of food - being bad, as that is a very personal thing. My wife and I disagree on taste of food and wine, no one is wrong or right. Now if the food is on fire, burned, under/overcooked to our requests, that would be mentioned. Had an event to see at the STABLE in the Pearl. We picked the Broiler House. It's been about 5 years since our last visit. Just like the last time mmm mmm mmmm. Service was great, happy faces welcomed you as you came in and a goodbye and thanks for dining when you departed. I'm a bit of a Sangria snob, having dual citizenship. Dang it was good, refreshing! We brought a couple with us, first time for them and they also gave it a thumbs up. No issues at all talking with all four of us. If you have never gone, peek upstairs at the private glass room you can reserve! Thank you, Broiler house, for consistently being good and great service. PS, Cindi is a 40 year plus vegetarian, no issues for her for options.

Yelp
We popped in on New Year's Eve for a drink. It was hopping, but the bartenders said it has been slow lately. Please stop by when you are in the area. We found a spot at the bar and I had a Llano red blend and my wife had the Pearl Parkway cocktail. A lot of imaginative cocktails on the menu. The decor is very industrial as this was the boiler house at the Pearl Brewery. Lots of reclaimed steel parts from the boiler. The best part about sitting at the bar is you are really close to the window where the food comes out. We will be back for happy hour.

Yelp
Had a fantastic dinner at the Boiler House. Service was great and food/drinks were awesome. We came on a Monday evening and were able to catch the end of their happy hour (ends at 6pm). I ordered the sangria which I absolutely enjoyed! For dinner, we had the burger with fries and brisket grilled cheese with a side salad. The burger was juicy and very unique and the fries were so delicious. Hot, crispy and fresh. The grilled cheese brisket sandwich was good and the house salad was freaking great. I need that salad vinaigrette dressing recipe! The atmosphere in the evening combined with all the Christmas lights is the cherry on top. So lovely and festive. Prices are a bit high but if you can, take advantage of their happy hour! Nonetheless, this is definitely a restaurant to try.

Yelp
Finally made it to a restaurant week event and it was worth the wait! I've been here before and I love the casual bougieness of this place, which is part of the charm in the Pearl. The hostess and servers were welcoming and attentive. My date and I each had a different prix fixe. My favorites were the beet and berries salad, the tomato romesco sauce served on the sea bass, and the tiramisu cheesecake. It was all beautiful & delightful. Definitely a great place to try!

Yelp
We had never been to the Boiler House before and had got a recommendation to check it out and thank god we did. Cynthia was our waitress for the evening and man when i say she was phenomenal! We had a lot of questions about the menu and she made sure we felt comfortable and had all of our questions answered. She recommended AMAZING cocktails, Food and even dessert i couldn't thank her enough for just how amazing she was. As for the food my partner got the filet mignon and i got the ribeye and they were cooked to perfection, with the meat being so tender and flavorful. The Bar drinks were also delicious and tasty, The atmosphere truly was amazing and just felt so welcoming. WE WILL BE BACK TO SEE CYNTHIA AND CHOW DOWN ON A FEAST.

Yelp
The Boiler House has a damn good burger. The Big Texan Patriot Burger was big and delicious. I'm not a big fan of onions(I normally hate them on anything).Their crispy onions on the burger were thicker than usual. I tried the burger with the crispy onions anyway and I am glad I did. The crispy onions were very tasty. I also paid an extra $2 to upgrade to the truffle fries. They were very good. I received very good customer service and I wanted for nothing. The decor was nice and it wasn't crowded during lunch time during the week. I highly recommend eating here. You won't leave hungry.

Yelp
TL;DR - amazing food and service, especially for celiac or gluten sensitive patrons. If I had guided myself by the Yelp rating I may have skipped this place, but I'm glad we went by Google instead. A lot of the complaints I saw in reviews below about having to pay for parking or other comments that were not necessarily up to the restaurant felt unfair and not an accurate reflection of the experience here. My friend found this place while searching for gluten free options for our weekend in San Antonio, and the food and service were both so great that we went back for more on our second day in town. On our first visit we had Chris take care of us. We started with the quail-wrapped bacon appetizer and the truffle fries, and we ordered the salmon and the pollo norteño for our entrees. We went after 2pm, so the happy hour was in place and we also ordered 2 of their happy hour margaritas. The margaritas were the only not great part of our meal, but they were fine. We both finished the apps and entrees and everything was beyond flavorful and delicious. Chris was a wonderful server as well. We sat inside and it was great! So we agreed to go back for round 2. I'm very sorry I can't remember the name of our server for day 2, but he was absolutely wonderful as well. This time we sat outside. Having celiac usually limits the options I can have at most places, but I had the wonderful problem of not knowing what to choose here! So I asked our server for his recommendation between the burger and the lunch specials, all of which sounded great. He mentioned that the burger had won first place during a contest a few months before, and so my friend and I both ordered it (hers with a regular bun, mine GF) and WOW! No wonder it won the contest, there are so many wonderful flavors blended in there and they're so unexpected. We also repeated the quail and truffle fries and were equally delighted by all of it. The truffle fries were so crunchy and delicious, it was inevitable to finish the bowl. For day's 2 drink I went with their version of a Sidecar, which was nothing like a standard one, but still really enjoyed it. All in all, we came here for 2/3 days in town and I'd go back in a heartbeat for our next visit to San Antonio. The food, the service, and the ambiance. All 10/10!

Yelp
Go here! Such a lovely time! The best food I've had in SA. Attentive staff. But the food is too good never heard a complaint from anyone I take here.

Yelp
You know it's a great restaurant when the quality of food doesn't decline when you don't visit the place for months and it's still as good as you remember it. On our most recent visit to the Boiler House, we tried the Quail Poppers for appetizer and were amazing! Our waiter, Chris, was very helpful with recommendations and very attentive to our table. The burgers in this place are awesome and kid approved compared to other places in the city. There is a bar area and a dining area that is perfect for a family dinner or relaxing meal with friends plus a lot neat places to see around the area afterwards.

Yelp
Came here for a girls night with my old military buddy and we had high hopes of this place but it turned out to be disappointing. The waiter was nice but it seems like when we were seated (outside seating), we had a male server but I heard him saying to another waiter to take our table -as if he didn't want to be our server. Disappointing that he felt that way and pretty disrespected as I was there hearing him and looking at us. Anyways, I didn't want to ruin our dinner as I've not seen my friend in over 5 years. Our replacement server came and she was fantastic. I forgot to get her name - but she has short hair and really took care of us. She quickly stated that we had less than 5 min to place an order with happy hour prices so we ordered 2 tropical sangrias, bison balls (sooooo good!), and the crab cakes (2 in the happy hour order). Omgggg both those choices were great! I LOVED THE CRAB CAKES ! Soooo well seasoned and delicious, they didn't cheap out on the crab. For the main course we ordered the ribeye medium well, New York strip medium. green beans, macaroni and cheese, and sides if blue cheese / chimichurri sauce . My ribeye was disappointing- it was waaaay over cooked. I'm addition, it was under seasoned, pretty much didn't taste like anything - BUT THANK GOODNESS FOR THE BUTTER TOPPED AND BLUE CHEESE I added on the top. They were the reason I ate a quarter of it. My friends New York strip looked like it was medium and she said it was good - I didn't want to ask her too much. The sides: greens were cooked perfectly. Macaroni and cheese was dry and lacked flavor we basically took a bite and left it there. Overall, this place is overly priced, ambiance is 7/10. I will definitely come back only for the happy hour menu specify the crab cakes. I won't be bringing my family it will only be a quick bite w my partner. Price I paid (I treated my friend) $240.00 Not sure if warranted but I think Texas Roadhouse would've been the wiser choice (Reference for the picture I added - it was too much verbiage) The spread of what we ordered -front: 16 oz. Prime Center-Cut Ribeye -back: 14 oz. Prime New York Strip Macaroni and cheese 2 Crab Cakes Green Beans Side of blue cheese (steak topper) Side of chimichurri (steam topper)

Yelp
Came here for a Christmas work lunch and it did not disappoint! Great service throughout our meal and they really made the lunch standout ! Always amazing atmosphere and decor - and liked the little extra touches for Christmas. For me the standout was the beet salad appetizer! It was delicious, perfect size and everything about it was fantastic! Don't usually eat burgers and fries - but the opportunity to upgrade to truffle fires sold me and they were great! It was a large dish and I managed to eat the burger sans bun and it was pretty good! A great spot to dine at the Pearl!

Yelp
you can clearly see there are LOTS of juicy details going on with this chicken. Mexican street corn cilantro queso fresco roasted tomatoes chipotle crema I do remember not leaving anything on this plate so that should speak for itself. The daiquiri was made with blueberry hibiscus infused rum, luxardo maraschino liquer, blood orange, lime, and simple syrup. PSA: if you are ever served one of these flowers in your meal or drink, you HAVE to eat it for good luck. Sorry, I don't make the rules even though I just did. ‍

Yelp
The Boiler House was nice, although a bit overpriced for an adequate experience. The server was friendly and gave some good recommendations. The cocktails were mediocre, but steak was delicious and cooked to perfection.

Yelp
So good! We came for brunch. The food is very good. I had the bacon wrapped quail poppers...perfect way to start out the experience. They were top tier flavored so well! My friend enjoyed the smoked salmon dip. I initially ordered shrimp and grits and did not enjoy it. It was due to my personal preference. The consistency was fine but it was a tomato sauce base. I prefer a creamy texture. The shrimp were perfect! So I decided to go with the French toast. This was the best French toast that I've ever had. It was so good! The bacon was also cooked to perfect. Espresso martini was delicious. Our server was excellent. She said that she was new but she had great recommendations and was very personable. The ambiance is nice EXCEPT the air was out today. They had fans and we sat right by them so it wasn't too bad but it's San Antonio and when you need a menu to fan yourself it's too warm. Hopefully they can get that fixed asap and I will be back.

Yelp
BYO Bloody Mary bar was a bit of a letdown. I expected more toppings to be available. It automatically came with one shrimp. The little "bar area" had plain green olives, pickled okra, wilted celery, pickled green beans, horseradish, sliced cucumbers, lime/lemon wedges, and cold leftover bacon. They did have Worcestershire, Tabasco, S&P, and this jalapeño-lemon-lime syrup which was great, and the Bloody Mary mix was really good. The starter Shrimp Frito Miso was delicious.

Yelp
Absolutely zero complaints about this lovely restaurant. My group of 6 came in WITHOUT a reservation and they still were able to promptly seat us at a lovely table outside where the people watching and cute puppy watching provided an endless backdrop of fun and conversation starters. Our server, Luis, was great! He made awesome recommendations and took great care of us. The truffle fries. Say less. They were SO good. We ordered one bowl for the table to share and ended up getting a second order because we inhaled them! For my entree, I went with a house salad with a steak skewer. Everything was fresh and tasty! This restaurant was the perfect Oasis in a day full of Christmas shopping at the Pearl Market! Don't pass it up!

Yelp
10's across the board. Best french toast in town. Crab cake bites were amazing, full of flavor. Been to the Boiler House a few times and last couple of times have been exceptional! Had me hooked with the build your own Bloody Mary. Great indoor and outdoor seating. Service was awesome. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
The food is wonderful, the service is excellent! My favorite place to go with friends. I had a lamb dish, hubby had a chicken dish.

Yelp
Went for a business lunch.. Service was good not great, but the food was outstanding. I had the Patriot Burger and it was probably hands down top 10 burger I've ever had!!

Yelp
We wanted to chill with a night out with a drink... then decided to include dinner. Speechless on the arrival of our pork chops that the first bite left us even more speechless! All the excellent pairing of seasonings & spices and everything else the chef included was the very best tasting pork we've had! The scallops with carrot risotto was nice too! We are definitely returning! Our server was very helpful, and attentive! Thank you!

Yelp
If I could give them a zero I would we made reservations for 16 and they said we could as long as we sat out side and we would be close to each other, however they did not have it ready they had a table for 8 and 2 chairs straddling a bar, then we asked for a table on the side and they said it wasn't an opened area and they could add a chair per manager, I would never go to this establishment! They were rude and a car unaccommodating! My suggestion is stay away !

Yelp
Came here on 23Sep2023 while visiting San Antonio. We came just for a quick bite - we ordered The Steakhouse Burger and split it. It was juicy and flavorful. We loved it ! We sat at the bar and the servers were attentive and friendly. Interesting interior - we were told that it was the Boiler room of the original building. Well lit. Not too loud/noisy. Accepts reservations.

Yelp
A good friend of ours recently celebrated a huge accomplishment and we joined him and his parents for dinner at Boiler House. Overall - we had a good experience, but NOT an "oh my goodness that was so fantastic I absolutely have to go back" kind of experience. First, love the ambiance - we were seated along the doors in the main area - and they had some of the doors open, giving the restaurant a wonderful al fresco vibe. Having those doors open and being able to people watch during dinner was fun! It also wasn't as loud as I thought it would be, given the crowd.. We had a solid waiter, sorry to say I do not recall his name, but apparently there are 2/3 other waiters with the same name. Our waiter was "THE ONE WITH THE BEARD". He was polite, easy to talk to, and checked on our table just the right amount at just the right intervals. The food was good. We started with the bison meatballs and the smoked salmon dip. I highly recommend the meatballs - FANTASTIC! The smoked salmon dip, on the other hand - too much $$$ for too little. In fairness, we had five in our party and we were warned it was the smallest app - but OMG. It's an appetizer for TWO - no more. I opted for the Big Texan Patriot Burger. It. Was. FANTASTIC. And, I'm a "burger guy"; I appreciated the size, their standard cook on the burger (med/rare), and thought it definitely worth the money. I would get it again. Everyone else at the table seemed to have a decent experience. Although we didn't directly discuss it, I was somewhat taken aback by the filet presented to my friend's father. Now, I didn't try it, I didn't taste it - but the LOOK of the filet they served him....I dunno - maybe it's just me - but I'm used to filet NOT LOOKING like it was run over by a truck prior to cooking....it was an UGLY piece of meat. In the end, this place remains on my radar as a potential special occasion / out of town guests - restaurant option.

Yelp
My visit to Boiler House on Easter Sunday was marred by unexpected disappointments. Despite booking through OpenTable and finding no mention of a special menu on the OpenTable nor Boiler House's website, we were confronted with a pricey buffet-only option upon arrival: $58 per adult and $12 per child. With children in tow, we were dismayed to discover the absence of a kids menu, as advertised on their website's menu. After being seated, we waited 10-12 minutes without anyone taking our drink order. When I inquired, the hostess mentioned that we would need to order drinks from a waiter but could help ourselves to the buffet. ~15 minutes later, the waiter arrived. The prime rib was one two meat options. It was cold and flavorless, while the potato roll was disappointingly hard and chilled. However, the mac and cheese offered a glimmer of hope with its enjoyable taste. The dessert spread was ample, and I particularly relished the bread pudding. Despite the easy parking and pleasant atmosphere inside Hotel Emma, the overall experience fell short of justifying the hefty $207.05 bill. The disconnect between the advertised experience and reality left me unsure if I'd return or recommend The Boiler House to others. Perhaps I'll consider giving it another try on a weekend night and hope for a better experience.

Yelp
We really wanted to love this place. Great location, live music, and promising menu. We ordered the beet salad but requested it to be added on top of greens, like arugula. We should've known this kitchen is in trouble when the greens below the beets weren't dressed at all. No olive oil, no balsamic. Just dry greens. Fun! We ordered a steak and elk chops, accompanied by jalapeño mac n cheese and mashed potatoes. When reviewers wrote steak was salty I thought I'd be fine as I really like my steaks salty. But not this salty. It was almost inedible. It also arrived cold, and not cooked as requested. The elk chops were in real trouble though. Requested medium, arrived bloody rare, smothered in sauce and absolutely inedible. We returned the dish, split the salty steak and finished the sides. Providing two stars as service was good. The manager checked in on us, and adjusted our bill accordingly. While we appreciated that, it didn't compensate for a kitchen that needs a lot more training and a more experienced chef.

Yelp
Fun place, great location. I had an old fashioned at the bar while we waited for our table. Ordered the duck breast (this was a holiday special) and my husband had steak. Both were well-prepared and delicious. Oh, our appetizer was elk meatballs.

Yelp
Service was awful. We had an 8:15 reservation and got seated at 8:40. Drinks didn't come until 9:20, on top of that my friend recieved the wrong drink and my boyfriend had a fly in his cocktail. The drink was not comped. Our waiter was very nice and tried making light of the situation but we were already in a bad mood. Appreciated the effort. Overall the restaurant was very hot and humid with few fans blowing. I will say the food was good but very expensive for what it was. Mashed potatoes as a side alone was $15. 3 stars for just the food. Lastly, we paid online with the given QR code and was still chased down the road by our waiter claiming we didn't pay (we had a digital receipt). Honest mistake I guess but added to the poor experience.

Yelp
They are fast and serve your food right; if they mess up, they fix it fast. The food is always great. The servers are sweet and friendly. Management team The best! I work at The Pearl 5 to 6 days a weekly. I just want good service and good food. They do it. Thank you!

Yelp
Came to dinner for a date night. Saw that majority of the menu was gluten free so we wanted to try it. Everyone was friendly. Waiter was nice and confirmed what we were ordering was gluten free. This place had a cool design. We started with truffle fries and shrimp ceviche. Fries came with a lemon chive aioli it was really good the shrimp ceviche was delicious and the mango sauce had a little added heat to it. We shared the citrus chicken and filet mignon. The crust on the chicken was so good and chicken was moist it came with a Mexican corn which was really good as well. The filet was so tender and cooked perfect. Their compound butter was awesome. We also got the broccolini which had a lemon butter garlic sauce was amazing as well. Everything we ordered was super good with lots of flavor. We will most definitely be coming back again.

Yelp
The Boiler House At The Pearl ("Boiler House") is really everything you might imagine it to be from passing by, and dare I say more. I say that because I have passed by it many times over the years during my visits to The Historic Pearl. I had always wanted to dine here, but for some reason or another had always chosen somewhere else. On my current trip to San Antonio and The Pearl, I was craving a nice steak (what's new?) after my evening stroll on the non-touristy end of The River Walk. I looked the place over, browsed their outside menu (it is standard practice for most restaurants anywhere near The River Walk to post their menus outside), and my mind was quickly made up. It was a really exceptional experience, from food, service to atmosphere! The steak was one of the best dine-out ribeyes I have had in a while, even compared to "higher-end" steakhouses. It comes with a house-made compound butter that was honestly to die for (icing on the cake, if you will). It was really something else. The ambience (inclusive of both atmosphere and service standards) was really top-notch, IMO. Since it is in The Pearl, the Boiler House has a rustic "old hotel" but also somewhat "chic" modern feel to it. My server (I forget her name) was as pleasant, sweet and accomodating as could be. In fact, observing my surroundings, it was fairly obvious the place was managed well by the demeanor the restaurant staff seemed to collectively carry. Overall, it was enjoyable enough to definitely want to visit this place again on a future trip. Expect to see more steak pictures from me from here sometime soon!

Yelp
I showed up with a friend on a slow day looking for a place to catch up. We sat at the bar area and ordered some drinks. I ordered the ceviche and was glad I did! It tasted fresh and had great flavor! This is a great spot for a a midday drink and ceviche. Also, the staff is very friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Richard our bartender was very attentive and the espresso martini was amazing ! The ambiance was great we will be back

Jody7899 D.

Yelp
For all the people that left one star reviews, y'all are all idiots. They have great food great service and the price is according to what you get. Don't think you're gonna eat a filet mignon for the price of a hamburger. Lukas, the new bartender is fantastic.

Yelp
Had reservations for a friends birthday. Scheduled many days in advance. The day of, they called to say that the restaurant is closing early and they will not be able to seat our party. No other explanation or offers to fix that. Very disappointing.

Yelp
Food was great and not overly expensive especially for eating at the pearl (location, location, location).

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful evening out with the wife! Our host Darren was a never ending book of knowledge on wines and the menu. He spoke to us about the new Texas Wild Game options. I got the Espresso Rubbed Elk Chop and my wife got the Wild Boar Lasagna and they were both phenomenal. Darren also suggested us a special bottle of wine that was out of this world. It paired so well with our wild game dishes. Vince, our second host, was an absolute pleasure to talk with and brought us our desert. We got the White Chocolate Bread Pudding and it was amazing! Vince suggested us some coffee to pair with the dessert and it went very well! All around great quiet place for a date night!

Yelp
We got the brie bites, Texan Burger with truffle fries, pork schnitzel and street corn polenta. The street corn polenta was our favorite but it was all delicious! The staff are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable on the menu and ingredients. 10/10

Yelp
Wandering out of the Hotel Ella, there are surprisingly many options at hand for munchies, meals or drinkies. Since we were having a lazy four day stay at Hotel Ella, we found ourselves here twice. Once just to catch the England match on their telly and the second time for a lunch. We sat up at the long bar which gave us a view of the kitchen as well as access to our own telly to watch the game. I liked the menu, since it was divided between a quicky menu and then tastes. On our drop-ins we enjoyed the Barbacoa Grilled Cheese, Quail Poppers and an enormous Steak Burger with Truffle Fries... as one does. Grilled Cheese was everything you wanted in a messy, gooey, cheesy sammy with rich deep meaty flavors of the Barbacoa filling. Delicious. Quail Poppers, seem to be everywhere these days. I always get them, since we seem to find places that have then on offer. They are like little birdy lollipops with all the savory meat punching through the picked Jalapeno and a dipping sauce of green goddess dressing. You should bung one of these in the dressing since you probably don't see this available often. Great stuff. I personally am not one to order burgers, just not in my wheelhouse. But, with Suzie on board, she hails from Fort Worth, so a burger was requested. I wasn't very hungry and was happily recovering from the day before with an Ice T. I'll nab some of her fries. The burger arrived with a plomb. It certainly was a well crafted and cooked to temp burger. Nice fresh toasted buns and a well balanced meaty burger to nosh on. I liked the grilled onions, fresh lettuce and tomatoes. Steak sauce was in there somewhere and another nice dipping sauce of Jalapeno aoili on the side. Truffle fries were crisp and had the little nibble of Truffle here and there. I ended up eating a quarter of the burger since Suzie threw out the white flag early on. My kind of burger if I was to order one for myself. Service was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and honest. During our lunch date, again at the bar, we were just chatting away, not aware of time or place and the manager came over and apologized to us for the error in the kitchen. Not sure of what had transpired, he let us know that they had the burger ready, however there was a mis-communication with the fries and that he felt the burger had been sitting around to long and they were going to drop another one on for us. In the meantime, please enjoy a complimentary Bison Albondigas while they get that done. What? Completely understandable and we were not in any hurry at all, he insisted and while we were chatting, the little meat balls arrived. As with all our food, they were also yummy. Tender, flavorful little bites. When you sit at the bar, you get a real feeling for the place as far as how it is operating. Watching the cooks laughing and working together to get the orders out in time. The barkeep was engaging and also went about his duties. Most folks when they were behind the bar, made sure to say hello, how ya doing.. etc. A management team that address a potential issue before even it becoming noticed, is really top drawer. I made sure to include the price of the Albondigas to the tip when we checked out. There are several restaurants and areas to enjoy around Hotel Ella in the Pearl District and when we are back again to stay, we will definitely drop in and say hello to the folks at the Boiler.

Yelp
I came here for lunch on a weekday and sat at the bar. I got the brussel sprouts and the salmon crepes. They mistakenly came out with a side of chips. The chef apologized for the mix up I didn't even realize since they are supposed to come with the roasted potatoes as a side. He brought over another side of the potatoes in a few minutes. This was a ton of food and I ended up taking the majority of it to go. The portion sizes are great and the food was so good. The salmon was fresh and the crepes are very egg-y if you're expecting thinner dough style. I enjoyed everything I ordered but I wish the brussel sprouts were chopped before they were roasted so they would be crispy. Sitting at the bar I could tell they needed more help in the kitchen but I also really appreciated they were doing the best and it was a great meal, just not the spot for a fast lunch on a work day.

Yelp
I stopped by during restaurant week and now I'm hooked! I loved the steak frites which I believe is equivalent to the bistro steak on the regular menu. Staff was friendly and helpful with recommendations. I enjoyed my sangria as well.

Yelp
The service was good and I love the feel of the restaurant. Not sure if the person making our food was having an off day or if the food is always that salty but I was to the point of not being enjoyable. They definitely do not believe in less is more. Even my margarita was pure salt. I did think the garlic shrimp appetizer was done well. And the truffle fries saved the experience for sure.

Yelp
The ambiance was amazing, great staff and smacking good. I had the pork which exceeded my expectations. I would go back for it for sure. I can't believe I hadn't come here sooner.

Yelp
This may be a steakhouse but the roasted chicken with black garlic risotto, charred broccolini and red pepper romesco was a flavorful option. Delish! Atmosphere was fantastic.

Yelp
Stopped in for a cocktail and appetizer before heading over to Jazz TX. These guys do a great job. The charcuterie board is fabulous!

Yelp
We went in because I wanted to catch half a football game. The cocktails were very good. But the chicken fried antelope is an absolute must try if it's on the menu. Perfectly crisp and tasty. The coffee dry rub on top was soooo tasty. Would definitely come back to check out their full menu.
