Boisdale of Mayfair Review - Mayfair - London - The Infatuation

"Boisdale is the kind of restaurant that has enough mahogany panelling, haggis, and taxidermy to make you think of Balmoral. Or Bambi’s mum. Either or. As well as some pretty iconic tartan carpeting and a cigar terrace, you’ll also find plenty of big-ticket steaks here, including a fillet that’s the Royal family’s steak of choice. And more importantly, we like it too. Outside of £95 caviar and black truffle that can be shaved tableside, you’ll also find some decent burgers here that are a great, affordable option for the area, as well as a daily £1 oyster happy hour." - Heidi Lauth Beasley

81 London Restaurants Keeping ‘Eat Out To Help Out’ Discounts Going Into September - London - The Infatuation

"Steaks, haggis, caviar, and tableside truffle grating are all on offer at Boisdale. They also do a solid burger, and both the Mayfair and Belgravia locations are extending EOTHO till the end of September." - Oliver Feldman, Rianne Shlebak

12 Mayfair Restaurants For When You Don’t Want To Spend A Lot Of Money - London - The Infatuation

"Boisdale is the kind of restaurant that has enough mahogany panelling, haggis, and taxidermy to make you think of Balmoral. Or Bambi’s mum. Either or. We’ll be honest, nothing about tartan carpeting and a cigar terrace leads us to think of affordable menus, and really a lot of the steaks here will set you back over £35, but just ignore all that and direct your attention straight to their classic hamburger for £10.75. It’s a thick Scottish beef patty covered in lemon-tarragon mayo and although the hand-cut chips are an extra £4, it’s definitely worth it, as they’re what us professionals call ‘fucking huge’. Heads up, there’s also a daily £1 oysters happy hour from 5-7 pm." - Heidi Lauth Beasley, Jake Oliver

First the positive: The restaurant is cosy and romantic Now the not so good: For my taste the food was too salty (starters and side) and overall not that great. We had as a main the chateaubriand steak and although the meat was nice and tender it lacked flavour. The peppercorn sauce was very runny but the truffle mayonnaise at least was nice. Overall I am not impressed from boisdale and don’t forget the prices here are not cheap and there will be a 12,5% service charge on top.

Went for a Groupon deal. Steak was medium and perfect. Side fries were very very good. Staff were helpful and attentive. Table was maybe a little low, and music not to my taste but only minor gripes. Is a good venue if you fancy an upmarket meal off Hyde Park.

The only eatery with outdoor tables in the area. Seems that Londoners do not like to eat outside. Nice mostly scottish food. Love the Haggish. Little Edinburgh in the middle of Mayfair. The location is surprisingly peaceful, not much traffic, only some occasional RRs and AMs. Only slight downside was a bit slow service, but still nice just to sit and watch people passing by. And the fries were excellent.

this is a very cool, very well thought out restaurant (It had that old school Vegas vibe). The staff could not have been more helpful and the food was exquisite. I will definitely be visiting again.

Boisdales never fails to impress. Mayfair isn't as big as Belgravia or the flagship at Canary Wharf but it warm and cosy environment with knowledgeable staff make it a lovely dining experience. A great selection of wine too!

Yelp
We went to Boisdale Mayfair for dinner. The food was disappointing, starter and main ok but nothing special, whereas the tarte tatin I had for dessert was disgusting. A sort of deconstructed dessert with a thin roll of puff pastry next to a pear cut in two. All with vanilla ice cream which had an artificial flavour and a crystal texture. One of the worst desserts I have ever tasted. However, the most annoying was the waitress' attitude. She didn't even ask if everything was ok when she saw I had left almost everything on the plate. When I started to complain she just ignored me and walked away. Really rude. It was a lady with short hair doing the Sunday evening shift. I think she deserves to be reprimanded. Never going to Boisdale again.
