McDonald’s Biscuits Beat Out Popeyes’ in Blind Taste Test | Eater New Orleans

"I observed Bojangles' biscuit was ranked near the bottom (second-worst) and was panned by The Washington Post in the tasting coverage." - Stephanie Carter

Food is cold. I asked for the chicken strips it is cold. Beans are hot. I ordered green beans I got the pinto beans. The quality of food does not taste great. The quantity is also less comparing with the other food chains.

Whenever I'm in the Northern Virginia area for activities like XCAL, I make a point of stopping at this Bojangles. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with friendly, attentive service, and the food is always hot, fresh and flavorful. The chicken is crispy and well seasoned, the biscuits are fluffy and buttery, and the sides are consistently good. I've tried other Bojangles locations in the area and none compare to this one. The dining area is spotless with clean tables and bathrooms, which shows the staff's attention to detail. If you're looking for the best Bojangles experience in Northern Virginia, this location is it.

20250602 One of my pups hasn't been eating much, and I know she loves Bojangles. I drove almost 30 mins out of the way on my way home from work to get her some Bojangles dark meat fried chicken. She doesn't like white meat. I ordered 8 pieces dark meat, and the employee at the drive thru even confirmed it while I was paying for my order. Should have remember to check my order before driving away. When I got home, I sadly saw white and dark meat in the box 😩, and the chicken was a bit more dry than all the Bojangles meal I have gotten all over in the SouthEastern States. So disappointed. Thankful, my pup ate 1 drumstick and 1 thigh tonight. 20230616 DO NOT DRIVE OFF WITHOUT CHECKING YOUR ORDER!! I ordered 2 thighs and 1 leg (3 piece dark meat). I got home and the box only contained 1 thigh and 1 leg. It's too far for me to drive back for the missing thigh. I got them for my dog, and now, she does NOT have enough to eat! 🤬🤬🤬 20220424 2nd time here. The service was pretty slow since I was 2nd in line. The employees were professional but not as friendly as the other Bojangles that I have eaten at down South - VA, NC, SC. I was surprised that they made bone shaped biscuit for dog visitors at the drive thru. The nice black lady helping out at the drive thru this afternoon gave my dogs each one. Unfortunately, they were not interested but one of them, who loves Bojangles, has been carrying it around the house including to bed with her. 202112 This is my first time here. Im so excited to drive by this Bojangles!! All the Bojangles I have eaten at, and a lot of then, were in Southern/Central VA on Rt 81, and all over NC and SC. My meal always comes with 3 piece dark meat, a biscuit, 2 sides, and a drink. Even when I only got 3 piece dark meat, a biscuit always came with the chicken. Today, at this location, I got 3 piece dark meat and 2 sides. I asked if a drink comes with the meal, and he said No. When I got home, there was no biscuit in the box, and the meal was $9. Is this Northern Virginia pricing? I don't remember how much I paid, I will have to look it up since I just spent a week in Statesville/Mooresville NC and down to Columbia SC, and got back last night. I had Bojangles everyday last week on my trip down to Columbia and back, because one of my pups loves ❤️ Bojangles!! Tonight, she only ate a chicken thighs. A bit disappointed that I didn't get a biscuit. I do appreciate the employee at the drive thru gave me a brief history of Bojangles. The history is fascinating! I'm glad my pup loves Bojangles. I don't eat that mich meat, but I do love the Bojangles biscuits and sides!!

I finally stopped in at Bojangles, located in the Potomac Run shopping center in Sterling, VA. As I arrived, I noticed there were a few cars in the drive-through because dining in was closed - I guess they're using a strict COVID-19 regulation. So, I was greeted by a very friendly staff member who took my order and made sure she heard it right, so she double-checked with me. That was truly groggy because I had ordered a coke, assuming by default is served here, but it isn't. I got the Cherry Wine drink instead. Next, I reviewed the menu because it was my first time and ordered the Cajun Chicken Sandwich platter. I told the staff person it was my first time, so she insisted I take my time, which was a welcomed response. The entire experience was great because of how friendly my interaction with this business was. However, the food wasn't extraordinary - the Mac and Cheese was salty, not to my taste, and the chicken had a lot of mayonnaise. Now, I can't blame Bojangles for this because this may be how it's done here. I'm sure I could have altered my meal easily, so that's my fault. Overall, this is a fast-food location, which will cater to a lot of taste buds in the area.

For fast food, this place is decent. Of the chicken joints (KFC, Popeyes, etc.) I find they have the best biscuits of the three. The service is good, workers friendly. Chicken was juicy and hot, sides were as expected. The dining room was mostly clean and prices were higher than I would expect. There plenty of parking available and a reserved spot for veterans which is an added plus that they respect the women and men who have served. The reason the the low rating is the bathroom. While not filthy, it’s wasn’t clean either and the addition of the giant insect (pictured here) was disgusting. Had I seen it before eating I may have just walked out. This wasn’t some tiny bug in the corner, this thing was huge. Makes me wonder what I didn’t see. I’m still a little grossed out by it tbh.

How I have made it to this point in my life without ever going to a bojangles is baffling. I had to come up to the area for something else and just decided to grab a chicken sandwich on the way out of the shopping complex and it's definitely the best (i.e. crispiest) fast food chicken sandwich I've ever had. I only tried the sandwich and sadly I don't live very close so I'm not sure I'll be back but if they open more in the area I definitely will go again.

I went to Bojangles for the first time with my cousin. It’s about a 30-minute drive from my place, and we decided to go because a friend recommended it. We ordered about $40 worth of food, and although it took around 20 minutes for our order to come out, I didn’t mind since I was looking forward to the food. At first, there weren’t many customers, and the staff’s service seemed fine. However, about 5 minutes into our drive home, I checked the food and noticed that two orders of fries were missing. We had no choice but to turn around and go back. When we returned, the restaurant was a bit busier. After waiting for the staff member, I told her our fries were missing. Instead of putting them in a takeout bag, she just placed the two fries on a dine-in tray and said, “Here you go.” We had to transfer them into our bag ourselves, which didn’t feel very hygienic, and she didn’t even apologize. When we got home, the fries we had originally received were already soggy and dry. On top of that, the chicken sandwich I ordered as a deluxe was wrong — they had given me a regular chicken sandwich instead. The sandwich was in a box, so it was difficult to check in the car. If we hadn’t gone back, our order would have been missing two fries and my deluxe sandwich would still have been replaced with a regular one. In total, there were three mistakes in a single order. This whole experience wasted my time, left me very disappointed, and honestly frustrated. I won’t be coming back.

Only had a biscuit because the front counter took so long to even when there was only 1 person ahead of me. The biscuit was excellent, just came out of the oven. I decided to go to Fuddruckers because they were open by then.

Yelp
The service was excellent. Manager and assistant manager were friendly and took our orders. Food came out within 5 mins. We recieved our food hot and fresh. Sides were excellent. Highly recommend dirty rice, mashed potatoes/gravy, cole slaw and green beans. Rice cooked perfectly with on point seasoning. You can taste the sausage. Mashed potatoes were not from powder and gravy was also seasoning on point. Cole slaw was sweet, cold and crunchy. The green beans were good but not as good as Texas Roadhouse. The biscuits are best in the business, buttery and crisp on outside and light & fluffy inside. Today, outer biscuit was overbaked but still good. But not on par. The chicken was hot and fresh. The outside was perfectly crispy for the wings but not crisp enough for the breast. But the chicken was fried perfectly inside as it was really hot and juicy. Just needed more time for coating. Slight spice of cajun flavor. Jolibee and Popeyes better with seasoning of skins and outer coating. But Bojangles had best quality chicken. Let me tell you about the Blueberry cookie. GET IT!!!! 100% GET IT. 6 FOR $5.99. GET IT! Music is loud in restaurant. Restaurant clean in dining room & bathroom.

Yelp
Wow I think I found my new favorite chicken place. Southern comfort fast food is perfected here. Doesn't feel like fast food either, interior is nicely decorated, food is well presented, their fried chicken is to kill for, wow. Praying one opens in socal / pitt.

Yelp
The Bo's Chicken Sandwich combo was okay. The chicken was not as crispy as I had anticipated, but it was very well-seasoned. I enjoyed the fries, though! Overall, food was okay. I came in at a busy time, and the staff were polite. It did take some time for my order to come out, but understandably so. This experience was okay. I'm undecided on whether I will return.

Yelp
First of all.. The person taking drive thru was professional and Nice aF.. Ordered an 8 piece meal ,fries slaw . This is where I'm confused . If the chicken has been sitting long and dry ? Why would you think the customer wouldn't be upset? If no one gave you the option with regular or spicy? Why would You give them spicy? Plain craziness. $34.00 of dried chicken. Smh

Yelp
Best biscuits hands down! I will always stop at a Bojangles whenever I visit. I also bring a box of biscuits home, they're so good. I wish they'd hurry up and open locations on the west coast. I think LV is supposed to have one coming but still waiting and I visit NC and VA enough that I can get my fix. I love the Cajun spices, it's subtle for me, but could be spicy for others. I just had the Cajun chicken biscuit. My usual was always the country ham or chicken fried steak. Honestly they are all my faves. The chicken is delicious, and first time having Bo sauce that they just brought back. I never knew they had it. Delish! Slight horseradish flavor. I paid 37cents for it because I did not know it comes with chicken strips, which I don't usually buy. Service is fast and friendly, food is hot and yummy. Don't forget to get the dirty rice. For desserts Bo-berry biscuits, sweet potato pie, peach cobbler and banana pudding when they have it. I also noticed a new menu item . Bo-berry sausage biscuit for some sweet and savory. Best food for airplane, make everyone jealous ...HA!

Yelp
I'm a firm believer that Bojangles has mastered the art of fast food, and after my latest visit, I'm more convinced than ever. If you're craving Southern comfort with a little bit of soul, this place hits the mark on every level. Here's what I ordered: Boberry biscuits, French fries, a chicken sandwich, and 2 pieces of fried chicken. Let me break it down. Boberry Biscuits: First off, let's talk about those Boberry biscuits. I wasn't prepared for the explosion of flavor in my mouth. Soft, flaky, and warm, with just the right amount of sweetness from the blueberries. Each bite was like a little piece of heaven. The glaze on top? Perfect. Not too heavy, just enough to add a light, sugary finish without overpowering the biscuit itself. I don't know if it's the biscuits or the blueberries, but I think I might be a Boberry addict now. French Fries: Next up, the French fries. These aren't your typical limp, soggy fast food fries. These fries had the perfect crisp, golden outside with a fluffy inside. You know they're fried to order because they had that hot, fresh, just-salty-enough vibe that made them irresistible. Dipping them in that tangy, slightly spicy Bojangles sauce? Absolute game changer. Chicken Sandwich: The chicken sandwich was a thing of beauty. The fried chicken breast was perfectly crispy on the outside, with that delicate juicy tenderness on the inside that you crave in a good fried chicken sandwich. The bun? Soft and fresh, with just enough give to let the chicken shine without falling apart. Topped with a little mayo and pickles, it was simple yet satisfying. Sometimes you just want a sandwich that's all about the chicken, and Bojangles nails it. Fried Chicken (2 pieces): Now, the fried chicken--let's just say, it lived up to the hype. I got two pieces (drumstick and thigh, because I know how to live) and they were EVERYTHING. The coating was crispy and well-seasoned, with a perfect golden-brown crunch. But what really stood out was the juiciness of the chicken. Seriously, how do they get it so tender and flavorful? It wasn't greasy at all--just pure, perfectly seasoned chicken goodness. I might've gone a little overboard with the dipping sauce, but hey, I'm not apologizing. Service: Finally, the service. The staff at Bojangles was friendly, quick, and efficient. My order came out fast, and it was clear that they put care into preparing each item. They were all smiles, and that level of customer service really elevated the whole experience. Final Thoughts: If you've never been to Bojangles, or if it's been a while, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a meal here. Whether you're in it for the Boberry biscuits, the fried chicken, or the crispy fries, everything I had was downright delicious. This isn't just fast food, it's fast food that feels like it was made with love. Bojangles, you've officially won my heart (and my taste buds). 10/10, would order again... and again... and again.

Yelp
Nice location, good service. The fries had a really nice seasoning to them. The chicken was flavorful. Great buffalo sauce. Steak biscuit was delicious. Bojangles does a good job of differentiating itself from the other chicken spots.

Yelp
The chicken very fast and it was seasoned Well the mashed potatoes were very nice and the waiter was very nice and friendly. The store was not packed it was quiet.

Yelp
Food is okay. But why must people forget a damned fork to eat my rice with on my break? No fork, no rice. Do better. Ridiculous.

Yelp
Now that there aren't long lines I decided to give it a try again! I loved the Chicken, mashed potatoes and coleslaw!!! It was better than Popeyes and KFC! The biscuits were amazing! It was more expensive but so fresh it was worth it. Next time I will bring the grands so they can watch the biscuits being made in the store. Great Customer service and my puppy loved the homemade dog biscuit!!

Yelp
Love having a Bojangles in the Northern Virginia area. Definitely on my top choice to go to when craving for fried chicken. I ordered two of their chicken thighs, which came with a biscuit. The chicken was fresh, perfect crispiness and the meat was so tender. I ordered Honey Mustard and Creamy Buffalo for dipping to go with it. I usually get Bo sauce with it, but apparently it's been discontinued, pretty disappointing. The young lady at the drive thru that handed me my order was super friendly and service was quick and efficient.

Yelp
Years ago, we were in the Charlottesville area and came across a Bojangles. Since it was dinner time, we decided to give them a try. Fast forward...to be honest, it had been so long that we couldn't remember what it was like. All we remembered was that we didn't hate it. Finally, we got to the one in Sterling. We were here on a Sunday around 5 p.m. and decided to eat there rather than doing takeout. At that time of day, we were able to walk right up to the counter and place our order. The young man who took our order was very polite and patient when we had questions. We let him know that we planned to eat inside. I ordered a meal with 2 pieces of white meat. The meal comes with 2 sides and I chose green beans and dirty rice. To drink, I had sweet iced tea. When it was my husband's turn to order, he told the young man that he was going to have the exact same thing (which surprised me). Husband said it was just easier for him to do that rather than pick something different. The dining room was clean and brightly lit. The only thing that needed attention were two booths that needed a wipe down. While we were waiting for our food, the young man brought us our drinks. The rest of our meal came out in a matter of a few more minutes. During our meal, another employee came out to sweep the floor and wipe down the 2 booths. As for the food --- We both liked the chicken. The 2 piece dinner had a breast and a wing. Both had a nice coating that was crunchy and had a little kick to it. The breast, for the most part, was juicy except for a couple of spots. The green beans were flecked with red pepper---just enough to give it some kick. The dirty rice was rather tame but the rice was moist and had flavor. As an aside, I think Popeye's dirty rice has better flavoring but I would still order Bojangles' version again. The sweet tea was watered down which meant that the flavoring was muted. It would have been nice if it was stronger. The biscuit that came with the meal, was good but big. Dinner cost $26 + change but these days everything costs more. When we left, we thanked the young man and he wished us a good evening, which we wished him in return. And, yes, we will return again.

Yelp
Came in and was greeted immediately. The employees here are were so nice and welcoming. Plenty of seats and very fast service. Order: - Chicken sandwich: 4/5. Crunchy, crispy, and warm. Deff would recommend this. - Mac & cheese (not pictured): 5/5. This was a side, small but a good size for kids and if you're not too hungry. - Mash potatoes (not pictured): 5/5. We ordered a large size, not thinking about the portion, it was huge and we had to take it home. The gravy made it taste better as well. - Cajun chicken biscuit: 5/5. This was a little small, it would be good for breakfast. The bread was soft and the chicken was crispy and warm. Overall, would return if I'm in the area.

Yelp
3.5 Stars If you know you know! Bojangles is a fried chicken eatery from the south, and the first time I had it years ago in North Carolina, I became a fan! So when I learned there was one in the northern Virginia area, where I was at the time, I was stoked! We ordered a family meal combination, which came with eight pieces of chicken, three sides of your choosing, a jug of iced tea and six biscuits. For sides, we chose the dirty rice and mac and cheese. When I had the chicken soon after purchase, it was tasty, moist and delicious. This is when you need to eat the chicken because as leftovers, it's not as good. When I had it the next day and so on, the chicken was dry. I will say though that the sides were yummy and held up much better. Biscuits were soft, flaky and buttery, dirty rice had chunks of sausage and some spice to it and the mac and cheese was cheesy and good. I've had better Bojangles meals, especially when eaten right there and then. But it's good to know there's one in Sterling, Virginia, which I believe makes it the closest location to D.C. This location is near many shops and eateries and has a drive-thru option.
google avatar

Elaine K.

Yelp
The chicken pieces were small but worse than that they were dried out. Tasted like re-warmed. I only got half of my potato order and those were dry and not tasty Other than the biscuit the meal was inedible I wasted my money and had to eat something else for dinner. Very unhappy

D P.

Yelp
Supreme Chicken strips are great, and the southern gravy and biscuits are good. After 2 visits, and 2 mistakes in not receiving what I ordered (both at the drive thru and ordering inside), hoping they will eventually get the orders correct.
google avatar

Yelp
DO NOT use this location. They open and close when they want and do not honor thier hours posted online

Yelp
Great food, outstanding service and VERY clean!!! I wish there were more like this location in Northern Virginia!

Yelp
Happened to be in Sterling area last week and decided I would swing through Bojangles for a Cajun chicken meal. I had been in this location before but new it was fairly new. The restaurant dining area was empty but clean and still looks nice and it worn out. I placed my order at the counter and went in to the dining area to wait. While waiting a watched two other customers arrive and place an order. The second also moved to the dining area to wait for his order and the third customer got his order immediately after he placed it and left the restaurant, I thought it was strange he got his order so quick but anyway I figured mine would be out soon. I decided to read some Yelp reviews on this location and was stunned at what I saw. It was almost the same complaints over and over for nearly a year, poor service seemed to be a reoccurring theme. I started to get nervous about my order as I checked the time and it had been 15 minutes since I arrived and my order was still not up. The next thing I know the second customer that came in gets his order and starts eating. As I am about to get up and ask where my meal was an employee started walking towards me and asked if I placed an order and I said yes and asked why it was taking so long. Less than a minute later my meal was brought to me with an apology and I was told my meal was given to a customer in the drive thru. I was stunned, it was like the reviews I read that were a year old and here I am experiencing it. So as I opened the bag and got my meal out I was approached by who I think was a manger and he was apologizing about the mix up and took full responsibility for my order being given to a drive thru customer, he then offered me two free combo meal coupons and a dessert. I accepted his apology and he went about his day. I finished up my meal and it was as expected as any other Bojangles that I have eaten at and I was pleased. I will definitely return since I now have two free combo coupons.

Yelp
Nothing like some good "comfort food" for a Southern boy. Today, I was happy to find that Bojangles now has a "Steak biscuit" which is really a "chicken fried steak on a biscuit" and for a price, "White sausage gravy" to go with it. Great meal for under $10!

Diane H.

Yelp
The Bojangles in Frederick,Md is terrible. Meal was good and so expensive. Fries were so salty you couldn't even eat them. The biscuit was so so not that good.

Yelp
Love it and the food Mwah I could die and it's so good I can't even I mean don't listen what people say it is HOSTLY good in my opinion can't wait for the opening bojangles in Frederick!!!

Yelp
The lines have finally gotten lighter. I stopped by for lunch today and have NEVER tried a Bonjangles and was excited. Food is subjective so I'll let you know my personal preferences so you can see if my review may apply to you. For starters I prefer mild chicken from Popeyes. The food here all has a Cajun spice to them so while not terribly spicy it is a little spicy. I ordered a 2 pc meal with fries and Mac and cheese. So the fried chicken was good. It had an OK crunch. Not really crunchy but good. Again a little heat. The fries are like normal steak fries with Cajun seasoning. Again there's spice so my kids wouldn't eat them. The flavors are all great. Wish they were a little crunchier. The biscuit was soft and fluffy! Highly surprised at how much I liked the biscuits which I actually like better than Popeyes! (Popeyes biscuits in the last few years are just not as good as they were.) Mac and cheese was kinda bland and mushy. I enjoyed my sweet tea. I went through the drive through with no line and everything was quick and easy. I liked how they boxed everything neatly with napkins and sporks! The biscuits would be worth going again!

Yelp
The title will be stuff happens! We live in Falls Church and I crave Bojangles. My wife was out by your location and I was home a bit under the weather. She was good enough to swing by after running her errands. I asked for the three piece and we were charged for a three piece. She got home and I was ony a 2 piece. Check 20142. We live too far away to return obviously. I'm not upset as I said, stuff happens. Honest mistake. BTW, As expected the chicken ticked all the boxes and was just what I needed after not eating all day. Y'all do good work and any biscuit that doesn't need butter is a good one.
google avatar

Derek B.

Yelp
I have to say that the Bo' Chicken BLT sandwich was delicious and plentiful. And the Bo' berry biscuits was Dymonite. And the cashier at the drive thru was hilarious. Makes you want to come back for the food and entertainment.

Jessica M.

Yelp
Waited 10 mins for a group of people to come in and get their food before me! Was told I can't get a refund after 15 mins of waiting for them to pack everyone else order and then give me my food! I spend too much at this location for that shit! Literally asked everyone else is they ok but the person that was in there the longest. And ofcoarse the workers just thought it was funny and laughed!

Yelp
11/20/21 This is my first time to any Bojangles. I wasn't sure they they would have. I did learn breakfast is all day every day. I saw there were many breakfast sandwich sandwiches, but decided I wanted to try the crispy chicken. I tried the dirty rice (which is brown rice with sasuage in it), macaroni and cheese. The chicken was good, but the first few bites seemed spicy. Then that spicy flavor up and vanished like my ex-girlfriend. This food is ok, but it is nothing to write home about...maybe the macaroni and cheese. The men's bathroom needed cleaning up. Someone did not lift up the toilet seat and urinated on the seat. The paper towels on the floor did not leave a good impression. The restaurant itself wasn't very busy, but people were getting their food to go or going through the drive-thru. I might come back here one day... I would like to thank the manager for not charging me for the drink when I ordered the chicken meal. Apparently the chicken meal does not come with a drink. So thank you.

Andrew S.

Yelp
Fast service. Friendly staff. But the biscuit disintegrated and the always seem to fill up the entire large cup all the way up with ice leaving you with 4-5 sips. Tasty tho

Yelp
Delicious breakfast biscuits. Perfect soft, fluffy biscuits with a golden flaky crust. Outstanding all around.

Yelp
I have visited this Bojangles a few times since my 1 star review and it has been better each time. I stopped by again this weekend, first item in a few moths and I got the new chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich, Hello Popeyes... You have been dethroned... Well thats my initial feeling. I will get it again to see if I still feel this way but man on man this was amazing. I got the bo rounds, Las time they were soggy like cooked at too low a temp. Amazing. This time. They chicken was super tender because its marinated. Its full of flavor. The perfect amount of mayo, and two great pickles. There were a few cars Ahead of me. Not the long lines of before. Did the franchise owner and store management turn away that many customers from the disgusting service and quality of the food they were selling, or did they improve the speed. I tend to believe the lack of care of the franchise owner and management are to blame. If thats the case, hope they can turn things around so they don't need to shut down this location. No way they can survive with the few cars I saw in line. If you have been here before and had bad service... Give them a shot again. I love Bojangles. Love having one this close. The employees have been so great the last few times I have been here. Hopefully they will continue with the great service. And for god sakes.. Try the chicken sandwich!

Will M.

Yelp
first of all, I love Bojangles food somehow it's the same price as fast food, but feels homemade. Cajun fries so hot and so seasoned correctly that melt in your mouth. A brioche bun perfectly seasoned chicken I recommend the deluxe if you're feeling fancy ;) . they have CHEERWINE!! it isn't available at any other location that I can think of in the sterling area. overall, the service was great however it kind of startled when they say loudly that "it's bowtime" perfect service and quick. Nice people quality food quality prices. What more could you ask for in neighborhood Bojangles nothing less than the best.
google avatar

Muthana A.

Yelp
Finally decided to give them a try. I went with the 3 piece and two sides. The Biscuit was fluffy and buttery test so great. The meal was not bad but I will go somewhere else for a fried chicken over them. The service was a top notch and quick. Overall was a good learning experience about a new establishment in the area

Yelp
Okay guys, chill with the negative reviews. First of all, if you see 15+ cars ahead waiting, it's obviously going to be a long wait. There was plenty of chances for you to back out and no one made you stay so why are you complaining and writing a negative review for the wait? Also, this is a fast food chain restaurant, what did you expect - michelin star quality chicken? Let's not be so high maintenance. We waited about an hour, knowing it was going to take 30+ minutes and it was definitely worth the wait! We don't have a lot going on with covid and stuff so we decided to wait instead of staying home doing nothing. Got the 8 piece chicken with cheese biscuits and it was delicious! Their packaging is amazing and so was their iced tea. And their fries... so good! I honestly was thinking about giving them 4 stars, but giving them 5 stars for support.

Yelp
Horray! Bojangles of Sterling, VA is finally open! The best fried chicken in the world! I was first introduced to Bojangles about 10 years ago in North Carolina but there aren't any restaurants in Northern Virginia, until this one! They have a very tasty slightly spicy fried chicken, super sweet tea southern style, and very soft delicious biscuits, they have a ton of other stuff like dirty rice but is what they are known for! The dining room is closed, but the drive thru was open, and wow the line was extremely long today, their 3rd day open! Cars lined up down the street and around the block! My wait time was about 45 minutes and it was delightfully worth every minute!

Yelp
So, I've hit this Bojangles a few time and am quite happy it is in the area. I usually do the drive through and get a Bo box which brings me to my first compliment... Bojangles uses paper and cardboard packaging, not big plastic bags or aluminum foil coated pouches. All of it is biodegradable except the cole-slaw container (plastic). That makes me feel good about doing drive-through. And the Bo Box is not some cheap box. Its a box you'll want to keep and proudly reuse for a bit (lunch box, kitty litter carrier, temporary tool box, etc).. i am sure it cost them more to use this high quality environmentally friendly packaging but kudos to Bojangles management for doing it this way. Ok - on to the food... its always good in my experience and the value is great. I love the fried chicken and the sausage or country ham biscuits and I can get all of that at 9pm with a quick visit. Next - the staff/service. I've seen a few reviewers express disappointment in the service. My experiences have all been 100% positive. Examples from tonight: the lady handling the drive through was great. Before I even ordered sides, she told me the 4-5 sides that she had ready (it was late) so I ordered from what they had ready. And then when I got to the window to pay, she didn't just take my card and slam the window closed but instead told my food should be ready in about 2 minutes. That little extra touch of communication is appreciated. So, 5 stars for Bojangles of Sterling.

Yelp
The best time to go was between 2 PM and 4 PM to avoid the horrendous long one hour long wait drive-through line. Their mistake was only having one drive-through window for payment and pick up of food. If they had one window for payment and the second window for food it might move a little bit faster. They should've taken notes from Chick-fil-A The food is still amazing regardless to the lines.

Yelp
The store was nice and new looking. The food was good. Customer service could have been better. Prices are pretty good compared to other chicken restaurants. Forgot to mention that the dirty rice is so good.

Yelp
I grew up in South Carolina and that's where I was introduced to bojangles for the first time... and I have been loving it ever since. I was so excited when this bojangles opened in Sterling but it's a bit far from my apartment so I don't go much. I've been through the drive thru maybe twice and had a great experience - everyone super friendly and food is always delicious. I typically order on door dash and again have never been disappointed. The Cajun filet biscuit and Cajun filet club are SO good and always my go to. Their seasoned fries are phenomenal and sweet tea is almost always good. Also love the boberry biscuits! For the past couple months or so, however, it seems there is an issue with ordering on door dash. Please please please fix this!

Yelp
I was denied ordering food 30 minutes before closing. Why is this acceptable at a fast food restaurant?

Yelp
Saw the new location was open and tried to visit last night. The dining room is understandably closed due to covid. The drive thru line was long, but it was only 8:45PM so I decided to give it a try. I'd estimate that there were around 25-30 cars in the drive thru line when I got there. To my surprise, the line moved very slowly. As the time ticked by, I started looking at my watch and wondering if I'd be through before they closed at 10PM. At around 9:30, an employee came out with a traffic cone and put it down two cars behind me. Everyone behind that cone was asked to come back another day. 'ok,' I thought, 'now I know I'll make it through'. As 10PM approached, I inched my way forward in the line. Eventually coming to the 3rd position behind the ordering sign. At that point, a manager came up to my window and said, 'we apologize for any inconvenience', and handed me a business card sized coupon for a Complementary Bo-Berry Biscuits Two Pack. She didn't say anything else, and I honestly thought she was simply apologizing for how slow the line was. After all, I had been in line for over an hour at this point. I was painfully mistaken. To my astonishment, she went back inside the building, and they turned off the lights, leaving those of us who had not yet ordered in the dark. I couldn't believe it. I waited more than an hour in a painfully slow drive-thru line only to come away with a coupon for something I'll likely never order. Bojangles may make the best chicken in town, but I'll never know. They've taken an hour of my life and it's not worth another attempt anytime soon. I'll have to stick with Popeyes and Chick-fil-A for now.

Yelp
I'm typing this review while in the lobby. This Bojangles was wonderful. Food hot, clean place, employees delightful. I enjoyed this meal.

Yelp
I placed an order for a chicken combination meal by number on the overhead menu. It was my intention to have bone in chicken pieces, vice chicken strips. I ate on site, and found chicken strips when I opened the box. Having thought that "they" made an error, I rose from the table to get close enough to the menu to review what I had ordered (box in hand). It was clear that I had made the mistake, so I returned to the table to enjoy my chicken strips. Almost immediately, a man approached me who appeared to be dressed as a cook. He asked if everything was okay, as he said he saw me get up to check the menu with a concerned look. I explained that I had made an error, briefly explained it, and thanked him for his interest. About two minutes later, a complete bone in chicken dinner was delivered to the table. Everything was delicious, hot and fresh. That level of caring customer service is very rare in the WMA, and I would have thought non-existent in a fast food restaurant. I only wish that I lived close enough to this restaurant to be come a regular.

Yelp
Just got home from ordering a 3-piece meal (2 thighs and a wing) and 2 sides, coleslaw and pinto beans, at Sterling BJ. When I opened box, there were 3 wings and a side of pinto beans - no thighs and no coleslaw. VERY DISAPPOINTED. LarryB

Yelp
I have never written a review about a fast food drive thru before....but here I am. A super nice lady by the name of LA went above and beyond in making sure that my order was just perfect. Got home....and it was delicious....best fast food fried chicken in the area. Thanks LA for making sure it was just right.

Yelp
Just picked up a 28 dollar meal deal. 4 breasts, 4 drums, 2 large slaws 4 huge biscuits and half gallon tea. Chicken is perfect crisp outside and insanely juicy and piping hot inside. Bisquits are like homade, fluffy heaven. Slaw and sweet tea right on point too. Fast, courteous service. Really made my day! Best in the area for sure!

Yelp
Sometimes it's good sometimes it's what the heck is this .... Kind of sucks because when it's good it's really good but when it's bad it's pretty bad. I just really wish they were more consistent. Went there on two separate days and got cinnamon biscuits one day I got two squares with a icing pond in the middle then the second day I got it and it was perfect this happens all the time. One time I got feathers on my chicken that was pretty disappointing

Yelp
The dining lobby should be open by now surely management and the crew can handle inside dining orders. It looks bad to see a manager and team member right out front of your entrance door parking lot SMOKING
