"Not all so-called fast-food chains are created equal. Some are markedly better than others. And whenever I have a morning flight from Charlotte, North Carolina I never fail to see Chick-fil-A’s long line snaking through the airport’s atrium. What a shame, as the true taste of the South is only a five-minute walk away at the Bojangles, located in CLT’s food court–style plaza (there’s also a spot in Concourse B, if you’re flying American). At this Charlotte-born food chain, biscuits reign supreme: Cajun filet biscuit, sausage and egg biscuit, steak biscuit, and even a Bo-Berry biscuit, if you’re feeling like having dessert for breakfast. Wash it all down with some sweet tea, and you have yourself a proper North Carolina start. Is it the healthiest meal you’ll ever eat? Not by a long shot. But the flavors—and the memories—hold me over until my return. —Chloe Arrojado, associate editor, destinations" - Michelle Baran

"Bojangles, the cult-favorite North Carolina food chain that serves up buttery biscuits, all-day breakfast, and crispy, juicy fried chicken, is soon headed to North Texas. The chain announced the move earlier this week, saying that it plans to open at least 18 restaurants, some corporate-owned and some owned by franchisees, in the DFW region in coming years. Three of those locations will be in Dallas itself. The first North Texas restaurant is expected to open in Spring of 2022, though the location for that spot has yet to be announced. Bojangles, which was founded in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1977, has gained a loyal following among fried chicken lovers in the Southeastern quarter of the United States, even as larger chains like KFC and Popeye’s outgrew it. In 2018, Eater delved in to what made the chain so beloved. Part of that answer comes from the chicken, which is always fresh, never frozen, and marinated for 12 hours before it is breaded and fried. But what Bojangles fans really rave about are the biscuits, a closely-guarded secret recipe. Each location has a full-time employee whose entire job is dedicated to making biscuits. A new batch is made every 20 minutes to ensure that diners get the freshest, fluffiest biscuit possible. Unlike those other fried chicken chains, Bojangles is also known for its all-day breakfast menu, which includes the Bo Berry Biscuit, a take on the classic biscuit mixed with blueberries and topped with sweet icing. No word yet on a more exact timeline for the chain’s arrival to North Texas, but stay tuned to Eater for future updates." - Brittanie Shey

I got off the plane, was greeted by this young girl with a smile on her face. That simply set the tone of the exchange. The food and service was great!! Thanks for the simple memory!

While I appreciated the dedicated seating area and overall fast turnaround on our food, unfortunately the food we received was incorrect and only okay. As this was our first time trying Bojangles, I would give them another shot at a non-airport location.

Idk what this location is doing but I could have tied my shoes with this stringy lab meat I was served this morning. I grew up eating bojangles and I am from NC and to come to this bojangles and they serving this stringy lab meat with attitude at premium prices as absolutely absurd. I already dont eat fast food anymore I just tried it on this layover and was disgusted. And to make matters worse the customer service of the lady at the end of the line was the cherry on top. She was an older indian lady and she served me this lab meat like I was supposed to be happy about it. Do better bojangles. The biscuit part was great but the so called chicken is making me nervous that I am going to have food poisoning idk what I just ate but it didnt seem like food. Chicken breast can be a little like this but this wasn't right. Given the fact that bojangles was my first job ever I would know.

Food had to be remade hair in the egg. Gross 🤢. Emoloyee had a great sense of humor, ' I need egg & cheese hold the hair!" Everyone busted out laughing. Guys cooking needs beard nets. Other than that Great!

This was my very first visit at the infamous Bojangles. After hearing about them for a while now, I finally decided to give them a try. With no regrets, I am so glad I did. One of the female cashiers was awesome in recommendations and provided great customer service assisting me with my first and definitely not my last Bojangles order.

Google
Very tasty chicken tenders, coleslaw, and buttermilk biscuits. There is a small kick of spiciness to the tenders, but it's very tasty 👍👍👍. The biscuits are very buttery and yummy. The honey mustard dipping sauce is very creamy. Overall, I recommend Bojangles to those who crave good old chicken tenders with all the traditional sides. Yum!! 👌👌

Google
Very quick service and hot food while catching them during a rush. This airport location is better than most stand-alone locations. My cajun filet with cheese on a bun was prepared correctly as ordered and fries were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The iced tea was freshly brewed and refreshing. This was a well managed Bojangles. It is nice to grab a local favorite before heading out of town!

Google
They seem to have let the place go down hill and the staff are rude. This was (keyword was) one of the best places to eat at CLT. They seem happy to say what food selection they are out of because they will not have to serve you.

Yelp
When you're at the point for looking for anything to eat, I'm willing to try something new. Have never eaten here before and keeping expectations realistic, I tried the three-piece dinner meal, which includes one leg and two thighs. The meal includes a soft drink and a choice of sides. They did not have coleslaw so I punted to french fries. Let's start with the good. The iced tea is excellent. Not too sweet and not too bland. Onto the next best thing which would be the fries. a little on the soggy side, but not enough to really affect the overall favor. I'd rate them as a pretty good fry. As for the chicken... meh. A lot of coating, not much chicken, and a tad on the spicy side. Not that there's anything wrong with spicy. I like spicy. A bit on the greasy side, but overall everything was about average. Credit to the folks work there as the meal came out hot and very quickly.

Cin V.

Yelp
No lunch and dinner during breakfast. The chicken tenders was mediocre. Seasoned fries was not the best. This location is at terminal B, so a good stop if you're in the area. The service was extremely fast, which I appreciated. This was my first time here and will be my last for breakfast. Will have to try again for lunch or dinner some day.

Vincent L.

Yelp
Can't go wrong with Bojangles freshly made biscuit. Egg and cheese biscuit in the morning help me wake up and walk to my gate. Taste just like any other franchise outside but it is a little more expensive. Like a dollar more. But you can look at planes or TV while you eat There are I think 2-3 Bojangles in the airport. I am talking about the one in the food court in terminal D/E

Lauren W.

Yelp
It was two hours before close and only 4-5 of the 16 meal options were available. The workers were nice but the service was slow. The meal was a standard chicken strip and fry, but the Bo Berry biscuits were really good!

Jamie S.

Yelp
Stopped for a quick lunch before a connecting flight. It's decent chicken and great biscuits. I enjoyed the Mac n cheese too. The cashier was quick with getting the line helped. Not too long of a wait. It's in a food court style area, so it has decent seating around. Overpriced, but that's any airport meal.

Elizabeth Y.

Yelp
Very good chicken with good texture and flavor (spicy!). I also liked the biscuit and thought the fries were decent. I was impressed by the portion size of my meal which was considered a snack :) There was a long line but the food came out reasonably quickly. Hit the spot especially considering it was airport food!

Tara R.

Yelp
First time trying Bojangles and since it was at an airport I wasn't expecting a lot. It was flavorful and juicy and didn't take long for the order to be completed. Would try it again. Staff was no nonsense and just trying to get people processed.

Jacques I.

Yelp
I usually like Bojangles' Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits, but this one was A-OK. I had a connection at the Charlotte Airport, and had taken a red eye from Seattle, so was starving. I was happy to learn there was a Bojangles at the airport, so walked to the B terminal just to get some breakfast here and even before Bojangles opened, there was a line outside the eatery. Soon after it opened, staff started to take orders and food came out fast. Service is very quick and efficient, which is especially nice since you're at an airport and have to be mindful of time to catch your flight. People didn't wait long to get their orders. I ordered the fried chicken biscuit breakfast combination, which came with hash browns and a beverage. I can't say I'd order it again though because the fried chicken was super dry. I was regretting not getting a sauce, which would've helped the dry chicken, but I'm mostly disappointed that a place that prides itself on its chicken had such dry chicken. However, the hash browns were delicious. They were basically fried potato circles, larger than tots and very flavorful. Hopefully if I have Bojangles again, the chicken will taste better.

Yelp
It was my first time trying Bojangles, and I went in excited because I'd heard it's a classic. Though I dare not read the calorie count for anything on Bojangles' menu, the Bo Berry Biscuits were fantastic -- a nice treat to start my morning, and something I'd definitely get again. The sausage biscuit was very dry, which was disappointing. Not sure if I got a bad one, if it's just the airport location, or if that's typical for Bojangles, but I wasn't crazy about it. But the service was fast, which is especially a plus in an airport setting. I'm glad I tried it, and I'm not against going back to get more Bo-Berry Biscuits, but you won't find me running back to Bojangles the next time I'm around one.

George G.

Yelp
First time here after a lot of hype and it was pretty solid. Biscuits, fries chicken and some really good green beans.

Ken O.

Yelp
As I was waiting for my next flight, I decided to try Bojangles since I've been to one before. The line to order was relatively fast since the limit menu was very easy to read. I decided to try the Bacon, Egg, Cheese Combo meal which included the Bo Rounds and a drink. The price was reasonable considering it's the airport. Within a few minutes, my order was ready. I was able to grab a chair at one of the communal counters. Actually, the meal wasn't bad.... The biscuit is larger than McDonald's biscuit. Being at the airport, the views were not bad. For fast food, this restaurant was not bad.

Jeff H.

Yelp
During my layover at North Carolina's airport, I had the opportunity to sample the local culinary offerings. Opting for the chicken sandwich, I was pleasantly surprised by its quality. The chicken was succulent and tender, enveloped in a delightfully crunchy breading that added the perfect textural contrast. But the true highlight was the Bo Berry biscuit - it was nothing short of exceptional. Each bite of this delectable treat was a burst of flavor, making it an indulgent experience that I would highly recommend to any traveler seeking a tasty snack. In summary, the chicken sandwich was a satisfying choice, but the Bo Berry biscuit stole the show with its outstanding taste. Definitely a must-try!

Norma M.

Yelp
Had a 1.5 hour layover at Charlotte airport. My hubs knows I love fried chicken so he suggested Bojangles. Sorry I totally forgot taking pictures because Concourse B was so way too busy and there were no seats available. Anyhoo, the 2 pc chicken (wings and breast) hit the spot. We got there at the right time when there a new batch of chicken that just came out of the fryer. It was GBD and would order again next time we happen to be here. The service was quick and friendly despite how busy they were.

Edgar M.

Yelp
Quick bite during a layover. Had the chicken strips & biscuit. Taste good, quick service. The family liked it. Onto the next airport.

Shanina S.

Yelp
My flight was late so I decided to grab something to eat while waiting. I order the snack box which consisted of three pieces of fried chicken with a biscuit. As soon as I looked at the chicken, I had a feeling it wasn't going to be good. The chicken needed more flavor and the biscuit had a weird after taste. The staff we're very nice and I got my order pretty quickly.

Drew W.

Yelp
The food tastes good but it ends there. Horrible customer service. The girl behind counter putting orders together was playing with her hair touching her face and then touching food. This place is a mess.

Anurag T.

Yelp
Overall The chicken is pretty good but it's expensive and the service is slooooowwww Value (B) $12.55 for three wings and a biscuit. Expensive and not worth it but it's the Airport with limited options and nothing affordable Quality (A-) I like Bojangles chicken - got the wings and they were good. Not as good as Popeyes but good Service (C) Super slow and unfriendly. Like we are bothering them to do their jobs. Not sure if they are poorly trained or just don't care. Expect long lines due to slow service

Chithra V.

Yelp
Haven't heard of this fast-food place before. Got to know it's local to North Carolina and this is my first time trying out their menu. Love their fried chicken and the fries. Those are the best; they were served fresh. Definitely better than other fast food places around. For some reason, I didn't like their biscuit as it was bland and tasteless. But they also have the option to sweeten it. Definitely try if you are in Carolinas. The place wasn't crowded and so we got a quicker service. Apart from that, the ambience is just like any other fast food.

Angelina R.

Yelp
The woman at the register has an attitude problem so removing a star for that. Would give a 3.5 if i could. I was super excited to try Bojangles! Never had it and heard good things about it. I don't have any by me. She was not helpful at all and annoyed I asked her a question. But... the food was really good. The spicy chicken sandwich was tasty! Lots if flavor and juicy chicken! Love the pickles they use. The women making the food and handing it out were nice. Mac and cheese was good. The bo berry biscuits were delicious. Probably would have went with a 5 star if the registers lady wasn't so nasty.

Ken M.

Yelp
First and last time I eat here. Sorry gave it chance "the world famous chicken" place. Fries cold as sht. The chicken strip ends were so tough I could not chew them. I never give bad reviews but to actually hand this food to a customer was just wrong.

Monica S.

Yelp
During a layover at CLT, I saw long lines for this place and wanted to know what all the fuss was about. After waiting in said line, I ordered a 3 piece chicken box of 2 thighs, 1 leg, 2 sides (dirty rice and Mac 'n Cheese), and a biscuit. While I thought the food was ok, I do not feel I have to eat here again.

Jae E.

Yelp
I stopped by a Bojangles Chicken in Mint Hill $8.99 for this is a Bojangles shame will sales this for that price for half cook dry ass not even whole wings shame shame Bojangles on you never shall I return to ANY BOJANGLES AGAIN it took me two years to go back to this location after getting the same results, This customer me is done. Will post pictures if I can get it on HERE

Angie L.

Yelp
Somewhere between 2-3 stars, but I should probably rate airport fast food by a different standard, given it's airport fast food. My Cajun chicken biscuit sadly did not come w any sauces (not only were they an additional charge, they were also out of stock), but a few (free) packets of ketchup made it a little less dry and a little more flavorful. Biscuit was somewhat dry -- not gratingly so -- but not the buttery flakiness I had been hoping for. The chicken was alright, but not spicy at all in the way the name might suggest (sad). This came out to around $8 so not much love lost. Still, could have been better!

Michele M.

Yelp
I had never heard of this place, but when I found myself starving during a layover, I thought I would give it a try. Fortunately, there was no line, so the food came out fast. I was pleasantly surprised that the food was really hot. You know how airport food is in general subpar. Now, as I mentioned, I was starving, so the food probably tasted better than it would have if I was not famished. That being said, I don't care for canjun spices in general because it is usually caked on, but the fries had a light dusting, which was very tasty. I had chicken strips which were not the best, nor the worst. The two stars is for the cashier's attitude. I get it, she has to deal with tired angry travelers but clearly she hates her job or people or both. Would I eat there again if ever at this airport again? Yes, yes, I would, even with the tude.

Andi F.

Yelp
When I came to get food on a layover, they were out of so many things. Like everything except chicken fingers and biscuits. So I didn't get everything I wanted. The people working seemed stressed and not happy to be there. Everything was dirty and in need of a deep clean.

Remi W.

Yelp
I was very pleased with our experience at the Charlotte airport Bojangles. In my opinion - airport food is usually crappy and overpriced but this was pretty good. For $13.99 you get 4 chicken fingers l, fries, a biscuit, a sauce, and a drink, which is a fair price in todays day and age. The food came out pretty quickly and it tasted good. They also are one of the few restaurants on the Charlotte mobile order app. Great backup for Sundays when the chick fil a is closed.

Robert B.

Yelp
Downhill. I used to dream about Bojangles. Good food, decent portions and friendly staff at a good price. Again - Bojangles has gone downhill. Over $17 for a few pieces of undercooked greasy to over cooked to solid wood chicken, overly salty potatoes and a crappy biscuit served up by a largely unfriendly and borderline hostile staff has pushed me over the edge.

Stephanie T.

Yelp
This was my first time having Bojangles. The line to order was long, but it does move fast. The food didn't take too long to prepare either. I had the Cajun chicken fillet biscuit with a side of macaroni and cheese. The Cajun chicken had a little spicy kick; not too much. The biscuit was fresh. The macaroni and cheese was alright, not overly cheesy which I liked. I had wanted to try the bo-tato rounds, but they had run out. Glad I had the opportunity to try Bojangles, but don't think it's particularly unique.

Allyssa P.

Yelp
The line isn't long for the customer service, I can tell you that. The workers aren't friendly and they give the, "I don't want to be here" vibe. I ordered the four chicken tender meal and surprisingly the food was out quickly and fresh enough. Strips were okay sized, fries were seasoned and the biscuit was huge. All the food was good for airport food - flavorful and hot. It's a bit pricey and I'm sure that's because it's in the airport.

Flor M.

Yelp
There is an old legend in the Charlotte airport that all missed connecting flights end up here at Bojangles. My friends in the south always rave about this place. So when I missed my connecting flight, it was meant to be. I got there at the perfect time. There was no line and the food was coming out hot. The biscuit was delicious. It was fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The steak fries were crispy and fresh. The chicken was crunchy on the outside and great tasting. Customer service was great since there was no one behind me I was able to ask my rookie first timer questions. They were patient with me and helpful. I will say don't strain your eyes trying to look up at the menu, don't be like me who didn't realize they have a menu posted at the register. Highly recommend taking the risk in trying this place out if you have never been here before.

Chastity R.

Yelp
Can you EVER go wrong with Bojangles? Even in this crazy busy airport, everything was still on point.

Ian K.

Yelp
We were connecting in CLT airport and had time for breakfast. The line was really long and there were other places with short or no lines but we wanted to try it out. As with everything in airports it was expensive. But they were very efficient and that is the one thing you need at the airport where you wait in line for everything. We got the Cajun chicken filet and botato (potato) rounds and the egg and cheese on biscuits. Cajun chicken wasn't spicy but all were good. Coffee not bad either. Good quick breakfast even with a line.

Jennifer T.

Yelp
Long wait to order but pretty quick with getting you your food. Everything was hot. I just got a chicken biscuit it was hot and fresh. Pro tip: try the chicken biscuit with honey mustard sauce. We did not go inside so I cannot say how it was there.

Sophie Y.

Yelp
First time trying this and reminded me of Raising Cane which is another food chain in Houston, TX. Ordered chicken tenders as that was all they had. My combo came with fries, a biscuit and 4 pieces of tenders. I rarely eat deep fried food but slim picking this late at airport. Beggars can't be choosy. Had bbq, honey mustard and special sauce for dipping. Tenders were kinda dry and those fries were luke warm, not crispy and no flavor at all! I had a bite of biscuits and it was ok. Wish there were honey! Perhaps they were closing soon and I had sweet tea. Oh boy, it's super sweet and they didn't give refills as the lady said they are closed. Anyhow, just glad to eat something during my layover!

David T.

Yelp
I came here as it was next to my boarding area. When I walked up there was a long line. Never eaten here before so I was like why not. All I got is time. I walked up and ordered the chicken biscuit as it seemed like the popular item. I bit into it. It had a kick to it. The chicken was a bit dry and the biscuit was moist. That is literally all the ingredients to this meal. I got butter and ketchup and honey to add to change it up. Overall, I'd say it was a 3.75. I might come back again.

Laura K.

Yelp
All we need is tender moist fried chicken with a nice spice coating and a warm flaky biscuit with grape jelly. The snack was a meal - and folks behind the counter working hard. Lucky to find near my gate B

David H.

Yelp
One star for the food I can't in west coast..horrible customer service..how can you not have biscuits ready at opening and than ur staff just looks around doesn't address anyone letting them know there will be at least a 30min wait. This at a busy airport.

Kim P.

Yelp
Did I pick a flight home that had a layover at the Charlotte airport so I could stop at Bojangles in the airport?? Yes. Was it worth it? Also yes. There are actually two Bojangles in the airport, so you're never far from your chicken and biscuit needs. When I got in line, I was surprised that it was a very limited menu on the screen. I was hoping for the Cajun filet on a biscuit, but all that was listed was boxes of biscuits and chicken. I asked at the register and the server said they have it, just not on the screen. So did I feel like I was ordering off the secret menu that only true Bojangles fans know about? I guess so. The food came out quickly and there are a few couches and tables in the near vicinity to relax and eat your Bo's.

Chris L.

Yelp
Always good food, but this last visit I placed a large order via the app. When I got to location to pick it up, they hadn't even begun the order. I waited 15 minutes before they even began to fix the order. If you want food from the Highland Creek location, be ready to wait.

Alexa S.

Yelp
Absolutely appalling service. They were out of literally half the things on the menu, the sauces, large drink cups and the ice machine was broken. None of which they told anyone while people put in their orders! So everyone was getting shorted. I've never seen employees be so rude to their customers for no reason (it was to every customer). They could simply ask for their order to be fixed and she'd give the nastiest attitude and THEN explain they were out of certain things or some other excuse. I will add that the food didn't taste fresh as well. This was at 8:30pm on 10/27/23

Dewan A.

Yelp
Happy I tried it, though the wait is long. 1) The lines are long. I asked the cashier, and they confirmed it is always the case. So, make sure you have 30 minutes to spare. 2) I got the 3 piece leg and thigh with dirty rice and fries. The fries were very seasoned and dirty rice was tasty. The chicken is good, but I like the spicy chicken Popeyes better.

Madeleine A.

Yelp
Fries were very seasoned and salty. Good taste but slightly too salty. Service was very rude. When I asked about getting a chicken sandwich, they told me they didn't have any, and when I tried to reorder something else the cashier ignored me and talked to her friend. Once she started paying attention again and I finally ordered, my order came out fast but when they called out the first time and I wasn't up to the counter within 2 seconds because I was checking the order number, the order was yelled out quite angrily by another employee. 0/10 vibes, 6/10 food. Just go to Starbucks instead.

Keith H.

Yelp
cashier was so rude I canceled my order! If they let their employees treat people like I got treated, I will never go to another one.

Johnny S.

Yelp
Horrible service! While waiting in line to order an airport employee cuts in front of me an another customer, places an order, doesn't pay, and is served before customers waiting for their food!! Only had wings available, nothing else. Staff standing around, goofing off. The employee taking orders was extremely rude!

Meg H.

Yelp
All hours for this location showed a 7am open time today for Bojangles at Concourse D. For the last leg of our honeymoon, traveling back to Chicago from St.Lucia, all my Southern transplant husband wanted was a Cajun biscuit! So rather than wait in line elsewhere before our morning flight, we sat in front of Bo's starting at 6:20am so we could be first in line, grab our food and run to the opposite end of Concourse E to catch our 7:20am flight. Cutting it close but this food means the world to my now husband! There aren't a lot of options open early at CLT on a Sunday, so a big crowd started to form around me, and then an actual line. Other customers began to chat about how they too, were cutting their flights close, just to get their hands on this Southern tradition. We could see & hear the employees hard at work and were excited. By 6:50am over 30 of us were in line. Lights were still off at the restaurant but it was my first time at this airport and this restaurant...so maybe there was a big reveal at 7am? No. 7:01am the place is still dark. An employee steps from behind the back, to yell that "we aren't opening. Maybe 8:30am. Or maybe not at all." And then walks away. As a result of the employees' lack of care or concern, we had to rush to our gate, with no time to stop for other food options. And boarded the plane disappointed and hungry. The employees SAW us waiting. And just LET us stand there. They clearly know the standard opening time. It would have been basic common courtesy to have let us know earlier that they would be unable to open.

Nathan S.

Yelp
First time trying Bojangles and it was really good, I had a layover in Charlotte NC and decided to give them a try I had the #9 Chicken Supreme 4 piece tenders with their Homemade Fresh Biscuits which were really good. Loved it on the way back home to Las Vegas my stop by and bring some of that goodness home. Really Great Chicken.

Jason H.

Yelp
Just an FYI: you ain't gonna believe these prices!!! "If" you have a 2+ hour layover, it might be cheaper to Uber to a Bojangles outside the airport than it is to pay these prices.

Brooke K.

Yelp
I visited on a layover on my way to nyc. The manager will was great and so helpful. The chicken was very tasty and so were the sides. Everyone told me I would love it, and I did but the staff made it even better! This review was meant to be posted months ago but never did. Oops!

JayBee C.

Yelp
The biscuits are delicious when hot! The service is great! The environment is inviting! If your looking for southern spicy chicken and biscuits this is the place for you!!!
