When I was younger Bojangles was pretty ubiquitous. The building with the yellow sign that said Bojangles fried chicken. They boasted having flavorful and hot fried chicken as well as big buttery and fluffy biscuits.
Growing up, we didn't eat at fast food fried chicken restaurants. My parents were pretty healthy conscious and both are wonderful cooks so when it was time out of all our healthy (but totally delicious and scrumptious, my parents always made the healthier version of everything and it was delicious!) meals and enjoy a cheat meal, my Mum made the best fried chicken in the world and always made perfect potato wedges and delicious green peas. Therefore, there was no need to go out for fried chicken My Mum's fried chicken is still my favorite.
Fast forward until now. I come home after working a 12 hour shift at the hospital and I wanted to take a shower and find something to eat before I went to sleep. I was watching YouTube and happened to press a short with a gentlman that was raving about how good Bojangles chicken biscuits were as well as their "boberrries" glazed biscuits. I was intrigued.
Now, I do love a nice Chik Fil A chicken minis meal with oj but decided to order the Bojangles chicken biscuit combo with oj and hash browns. I also got the "boberry" glazed biscuit.
Now, the chicken biscuit is huge! The chicken breast they put on it is huge, meaty, seasoned very well, and delicious. I cut that in half and put the other half in foil for the next day. Also, the hash brown rounds were flavorful and had shredded onion in them, yum, but they were big too so I put half of those with the rest of the chicken biscuit I saved for the next day. The hash brown rounds are delicious and fried to perfection! Not greasy at all! Yumzies.
Now, to this day I haven't Googled exactly what a "boberry" is. The biscuit is huge and buttery. You can smell the butter more than the berry component, which I don't like. The biscuit was smothered in this white glaze that was thin but a lot of it. My sweet tooth immediately gets deactivated. I pinch off a little piece with the "boberry" in it and was immediately disappointed. It just tasted like a too sweet butter biscuit and the glaze was annoying. No thanks to the "boberry." Will I get a chicken biscuit from here again? Yes, I absolutely will but no time soon. Those calories are not that friendly, lol.
Alright, im off to Google what a "boberry" truly is.
