"Bok a Bok, a fried chicken restaurant with four locations, has pulled itself off of the DoorDash platform and will now be doing all of its deliveries in-house after hiring its own delivery drivers. The switch is aimed at providing better customer service and greater control over the delivery process. Bok a Bok customers are now charged a flat $7.49 delivery fee, which is more transparent and cheaper than using third-party apps." - Harry Cheadle

Loved how crunchy the chicken and tofu was! Chicken was moist and flavorful. I don’t think the chili flakes added any flavor though. The sauces were also delicious - recommend the soy garlic. The umami bbq tasted like a cross between buffalo and bbq.

What the Bok… This chicken was moist. Well the wings were. They were also inside of a hard shell with no flavor. The wings were so caked with dry rub powder I could have had a better experience face planting on the coast. If your going to brine your chicken do it in salt. The chicken had no flavor and the bbq dry rub tasted like paprika and only paprika that I snorted accidentally. I was hungry and had a lot of work to do, so I ate it, out of sheer will power. I won’t be eating here again. The crust was dry and brittle and does not stand up to any fried chicken I’ve had. Small businesses usually can deliver better than Wild Wings. This place takes your money and spits sand in your mouth. And hands you a side of dry strips to rub it in your face. With a cherry if overpowering sauce on top.

Very bland taste for the batter (crispy but too thick, fell off in chunks) and also the chicken did not taste marinated. Similar story for the tots and fried tofu- no flavor at all. Only thing that saves it was the included sauces In fact, I thought I had COVID because I could not taste any flavor from the chicken or sides

This place exceeded my expectations! At first glance it's literally a hole in the wall, and doesn't look particularly authentic or appetizing. But we saw they had Taco Tuesdays, where it was buy one get one free. We thought, we'd give it a shot, not expecting the tacos to be anything special. Turns out, the tacos were LOADED with stuff, and it was B1G1! Very pleasantly surprised. The chicken wings that we got were also tender and flavorful. Though they did take a long time go come out with our food, I would still come back here next time I am craving fried chicken and/or tacos!

I've been to this location four times since it opened. I have much love for the brand for its crispy Korean fried chicken legs I first tasted in the Capitol Hill branch. I love spicy food and am a cheese person so the kimchi mac n cheese hits the spot for me. Family visiting who tasted the mac also heaped praises on it, especially on the second take-out after eating the mac at Beechers in Pike Place. The wings are divine and the chicken sandwiches are arguably the best we've had (outside of the standard flavor-wise). We had an issue with a missing sandwich from our takeout when we got home but Alex the owner (after leaving the customer service line a message about it) promptly replied which allowed us get it the next time we came by. His response plus his awesome staff alone gets 5 stars. I was disappointed with the fried chicken legs though. In our last visit, craving for the crispy, juicy legs from memory, I ordered three sets of the five-piece legs (there were 8 of us who'll eat it ok!). When we came home we discovered the chicken covered in still crispy but too thick batter. The meat itself was juicy but was undercooked - a big no no for chicken =( We had to scramble for another dish to eat at home as we only ordered 2 macs and a chicken sandwich with the legs. Anyway, had the legs reheated and cooked through the next day. It kept well though everybody chucked the batter-covered skin (supposedly the best part!). I hope that it was just a fluke and the next order will be the "better than Bonchon" chicken legs that I remember.

First time visit, and we went to the U-District location. We ordered the Bulgogi Tacos and the "OG Wings". My Korean GF, a Korean Fried Chicken expert ;), opened up her order of chicken once we got home and discovered what seemed to be a bunch of tiny drumsticks. From a seriously small chicken (sorry, poor chicken :( So, we called Bok a Bok, and got a hold of Alex. We live about a 15 mins drive away, and they were closed by the time we got home. Alex seemed nice, said "huh, that doesn't sound right." and I offered to send a picture (see picture below). He said that would be great, he may not reply til the following day but we'll "set this right" (or to that effect). Next day, I get an email which basically consisted of a quick online/email lecture (he included the 2nd picture below!) on the difference between "drumettes" and "flats", and how they relate to "wings". In short: Alex said what we think of as "wings" from other restaurants is split up into "drumettes" and "flats" by Bok a Bok's supplier, and we would typically get 50% drumettes and 50% flats in an order. From our picture, he determined we strangely got mostly drumettes--but we can always request more flats next time! \:D/ Did he "make things right", like he replies to all of the negative reviews on here? Ummm, no. He taught us about their "chicken wings" and basically said "hope to see you again soon". In short: the bulgogi tacos were "ok", the chicken was not particularly good but was edible. The "wings" were more like "tiny clipped wings" at best. Not much meat. Alex maintains there were a couple "flats" in there--we don't see 'em in the picture below. Add in lame customer service, and... yeah, thanks for "making it right" Alex! Not so much... Ironically, we left a tip for the carry out. Hopefully Alex didn't get any of it.

I usually hate to give negative reviews, but this may have been one of the more disgusting dining experiences I have had. My first bites of the chicken thigh I ordered revealed completely raw chicken. I had ordered a salad, chicken tenders and Cole slaw in addition, and couldn't stomach eating any of it after this discovery. I'm just not sure how you end up with chicken this raw! I had really enjoyed this place previously but don't think I could stomach going back now.
