I'm so glad that we went to this place for lunch. We were just in town for a movie date and wanted to get lunch before the movie. We were greeted right the way. Our server was wonderful. We tried "Phuket" and "Bourbon Peach Smash" from the drink menu. The drinks were so good and they were very generous with the amount of liquors. I think i walked out a little tipsy and ready for the movie date. We ordered "Pad Thai" and "spicy tuna" and "unagi and cucumber rolls" and we didnt have to wait long for them either knowing that they make them fresh to order. Food and drink were 10/10. I'd recommend anyone this place.

Google
Ambiance is phenomenal, love to decor. Service was fantastic, kept my drink full, order was accurate. Food was good. Looked pretty, but on the bland side. Not bad at all, but for price expected a bit more. The salad had a weird sweet wasabi dressing that I didn't particularly love. No salt and pepper on the table, food could use a bit more flavor. Beef teriyaki app was good. Broccoli and beef was a great ratio of meat to broccoli, but meat wasn't the best cut My chicken was good, but again could use a little more flavor

I believe this place used to be a sushi restaurant. Maybe they changed name or just same owner. Food is amazing for our dinner. We had some sushi, calamari, shrimps. It was good. The ambiance was very nice and no problem with the parking. Many choices in the menu but could only eat a few. Would come back to try another dish

Google
Craved some sushi and this place delivered! I was a little bummed when I was told they were not serving alcohol but the food was great.

Google
The food was good, but we continously had to ask for stuff, and remind the waitress of what we were waiting on. The bus boy was on top of his game and I wish he could have been our waiter. Our waitress forgot literally half of what we asked for, several times. I asked for my meal to be spicy and she got it mixed up with my friends dish. I more than likely will not go back.

Is really average food My n my friend we all Asian but we felt the server just want to go home ASAP my friend got a shrimp salad and find a sticker on the avocado , they did changed the new one but shrimp was over grilled so got really bitter. Even we kinda of give it a hint about it doesn't taste good but I guess they just want you to pay anyway. The decoration was cool but confusing because more like a Chinese thing then Japanese Spicy is mark is not really useful is not spicy at all guys. Food in general was ok but overpriced Is you want to take photos or seat at somewhere cool I guess you can come here

Rachel G.

Google
The food was great. Dumplings were soft and flavorful, green beans were crunchy. Even though the food was good I think it’s overpriced. Compared to other Asian spots in the area this place is over the average prices for the food. That being said, if you’re not concerned about money and want a nice night out would highly recommend this place. I personally won’t be adding this to my list of regular places, I feel there’s better bang for your buck in the area, but might revisit for an occasion.

Google
First time at the Bok Choy Asian Kitchen! We were seated immediately by staff. Beautiful Ambiance of the restaurant- really appealing to the eyes. Order taken shortly after for drinks and appetizers - fast and friendly customer service The Crab Rangoons & Popcorn Shrimp were not that good. The rolls of the sushi were really good and tasted fresh. The Ice Cream Mochi and the Great Wall of Chocolate were solid as well!

Yelp
This place was great. Service and food was awesome. Got there like half hour on a Friday night before they close so it wasn't busy. Food came out hot and fresh and very delicious. Next time I'm in Addison Illinois I'm going to have to eat here again.

Yelp
This place NEVER gets an order right...and you call to get it corrected and the response is always sorry what do you want us to do? I am done and will never go back here.

Yelp
Tried to eat here this evening. Learned they are having problems with their liquor license and cannot serve alcohol right now. We chose to leave.

Yelp
Crab rangoons and sushi were absolutely delicious. $7 margarita! And our waitress was so sweet! 11/10

Yelp
This Spot so special to me and my boyfriend As we go almost every other weekend! We loveee everything about this place from the Amazing quality food and Beautiful Thai cultured ambiance to, the friendly kind Staff! we give this place a 10/10 ! If your looking for some great Asian Cuisine this is your to be!

Yelp
Eh, The atmosphere is great but the food is good to mediocre, nothing to write home about. Service was always great but each time went the cleanliness was questionable. First time the table was still dirty and the on table items were grimy. Second time we had to request new plates, there was still food or something on them. It wasn't that they didn't try to clean them, I don't think their system was doing a good enough job. Not the worst but for the price I'd go to moon sun in Glendale heights.

Yelp
Finally got the parents to eat some sushi... even though my dad attacked it with a fork. Got the crispy crunchy and a basic California. Also warmed up with the lettuce wraps and governors bowl, both exquisite. I washed the food away with a homemade ginger ale- fantastic. Stephanie was very accommodating to my dad's menu questions which was much appreciated. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
Today for lunch was my first time coming to Bok Choy and I will definitely be back. The food was great and the atmosphere/decorations are really cool.

Yelp
Today I enjoyed lunch at Bok Choy with friends ( a group of eight). Our server was incredibly efficient and hospitable. We had cocktails before lunch with a few appetizers (fried Calamari and fried dumplings which were delicious). Our server managed to get every single order correct and deliver it in a very timely manner. We all ordered from the menu which offers a large LUNCH selection in addition to other choices. Within 15-20 minutes, all eight of us were being served our delicious meal. The server (I think I heard that her name was Stephanie) then asked us for any additional needs for drinks etc.... She checked back on us several times to see if we needed anything else, even though she was also busy serving another table. WE wanted for nothing! Our group will be returning to Bok Choy. The overall opinion was that it meat all of our needs and then some!! Loved the food!!

Yelp
Idk why this place has bad reviews. Looks like some of the bad ones are from when old management was running things and bad customer service (but the food is good and those servers have left). Bok Choy has the best asian food around. I always go out of my way to come out here and always end up ordering more to take home for leftovers. I've never had an issue with the servers or service and the food is so fresh. Literally everything on the menu is good and they are always accommodating. Cute spot for date night or fun night out with my girls. They have the best Thai food I've ever had and comparable to what you get in Thailand. Sushi is fresh and there are so many options. The inside and outside patio is decorated so cute too! If you're ever around I recommend stopping in!

Yelp
Came in on a Thursday where I was expecting more people to be there but nope it was actually quiet nice and not chaotic. I recommend this spot. It's a nice and chill vibe, the lights are dimmed with cool red lights on the walls which I like because it's not that light inside. The aesthetic of the place is really nice as well, there's booths, nice tables, high tables to sit at and you can also sit at the bar and watch the sushi chefs make fresh sushi in front of you. Food is always amazing, tasty and fresh as well. Only complaint from that day was waiting about 25-30 minutes for two orders of sushi, other than that I recommend!!

Yelp
Went for some Sushi, didn't disappoint. Asian infused... eclectic menu, not a dedicated sushi restaurant or menu, but offered some good options. I got the Sushi sampler for my meal, tuna and the typical roll options. All delicious and well prepared. It had what we were looking for and the service was decent.

Candace L.

Yelp
It is the Best Sushi in our area. Huge portions and so Fresh!!! Super great service!

Yelp

Yelp
REALLY GOOD! I'm eating the left overs 2 days later & I am so happy!! Such fresh ingredients & im especially impressed at the chicken pieces in my dish. Perfectly cut with no fat. I had the red curry & mom had a delicious Maki. Really great!

Yelp
I usually go in for lunch. Tried, true, and trusted dishes are the mongolian beef and governor's chicken. Jaime and Jeana are fantastic! Today I tried the mussels off their limited time Lent menu. Oh. My. Goodness. The mussels were some of the best I've ever had! The most delicately flavored green curry, with onion and pineapple. And don't skip the mango and sticky rice!! Always a good meal, always great service. Definitely worth a visit.

Yelp

Yelp
One of my top favorite Asian places I can't get enough of this place the food is amazing the atmosphere is beautiful I really enjoy coming here the wait staff is excellent the only downfall I'm not too thrilled about the cocktails but if you're not a drinker the food is delicious I absolutely love this place , Always trying something new every time I come and I'm never disappointed highly recommended

Yelp
I have been going to this place for years, but in the past few months, the service and the food quality has a really gone down. Last month I ordered soup for takeout and specifically requested no mushrooms because I am allergic. After I got home and opened the container, not only did it contain mushrooms, but there were hair strands on the container lid. Needless to say it went to the trashcan. this evening we went to have dinner at this place, and as soon as we were seated, and we opened our napkins, it became obvious that those napkins were not washed. There were hair strands on the napkins, as well as caked on food crumbs. It was so disgusting that we left without saying a word, and will not be going back to this place ever again

Yelp
I'm very happy with the service and dishes. I haven't had a bad meal yet. Chicken pad-se-eww is great!!!

Yelp
The food is fine but who ever is taking the orders for this restaurant needs to be replaced. I didn't even have "okay" service from them. The fault here is with the restaurant and Grubhub. I ordered two kinds of sushi and a noodle dish. When I received my order from Grubhub, I received it early but unfortunately two of my sushi orders were missing. So I contacted Grubhub thinking they would be able to have the driver pick up the missing dishes instead all they could do was give me a refund. Thinking that my sushi order was still at the restaurant, I put in another order for the missing sushi for pick up. I called the restaurant to explain the situation since and to see if they knew they left out my sushi and if my missing sushi was still there since it was on the receipt that the restaurant provided with my order. To my surprise, instead of trying to fix the situation or offering to give me some kind of discount for the inconvenience, the person taking the orders just blamed grub hub, even saying that they probably stole my missing orders. But I told her that it clearly shows on the receipt that that the two sushi orders weren't even checked off by the restaurant to show it was in the bag. Please see picture attached. Then she tried putting the blame on me saying that there was only one order which was under my name (the second Grubhub order I had to put in because the restaurant forgot to give me the sushi). Look I understand that it's a tough time right now and that restaurants aren't running the same way they use to. There is more stress and lines will get busy. But I also believe that there is still such thing as customer service. All she had to do was apologize for the inconvenience and say they will take care of the problem. Whether it would be some kind of discount or compensation for the meal or even letting me talk to the manager. It seemed ridiculous to her when I asked if she could get it to me faster. Sorry for assuming that my sushi was already made and was just waiting there but apparently they never completed the order. There is no point in arguing with the customer because you're wasting time. Especially when I know it was the restaurants mistake to not check the order.

Yelp
Love this place and the food. Food is fresh, lighting is perfect and staff seeks to please. We hosted a bday and they made it perfect. I would do it over and over again. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
My husband and I ordered 4 sushi rolls through Grubhub and I have to say, it was delicious. Every roll was yummy, fresh, and we can't wait to order soon again!

Yelp
Great Asian food. Some of the best of Japan,China and Thailand dishes in one place. Love it

Yelp
FOOD: Crispy Calamari - Nicely battered and tender. They were fresh and didn't turn into a piece of gum in my mouth. Tom Yum Goong soup - The broth was tasty and went well with the shrimps. The large slices of onion threw me off since this soup is normally made without onions, but they were good. Spider Roll - It wasn't as crispy as I would like and the sauce is too sweet. I give it an A for presentation, though. Bangkok Feast with chicken - Eh...it was very Americanized and too oily. There were carrots, bean sprouts, red and green peppers (ew), pea pods, green onion, mushrooms, water chestnuts and tofu in a curry sauce. I wouldn't order it again. SERVICE: Excellent! I couldn't make it to the restaurant until 9 on a weeknight (they close at 9:30p) and they were more than happy to serve us. Apparently, the sushi chef leaves exactly at 9:30, so you got to place your sushi order accordingly. The one waiter left in the restaurant was charming and attentive. AMBIANCE: Very nice, modern and dimly lit. The booths are as comfortable as the stand alone tables. LEFT OVERS: They gave me those round aluminum containers with a paper top for my left overs. It's such a pain to bend the top every time to close it up and I can't get to my food fast enough. I guess the plastic top ones are worst. LOCATION: Pretty easy to get to, plenty of parking, close to I-355 near Marcus theaters.

Yelp
How can a place with the same name be such a different experience from each other? We dine at the Wok n' Fire in South Barrington pretty much every month. This was our first visit to the Addison location. While we were seated and our order was taken pretty quickly, it took almost 20 minutes or more to get our sushi. It was Ladies Night and pretty packed in the lounge area, but we didn't expect to wait quite that long. Our server apologized that one of the rolls we ordered was wrong but asked if we wanted to try it anyway without being charged. Once finished, we asked her if the roll we wanted was still coming and she totally forgot about it! There only appeared to be 2 guys behind the counter making all the rolls. The positives? Easy to find and park (great location) and for 3 ppl, 4 sushi rolls and 2 drinks, our bill was only about $32 before 7 pm. We will probably stick to our usually spot in S.Barrington though.

Yelp
I was extremely impressed with this place. First time here, and I love sushi and martinis. I wanted a nice place to go before my movie across the street. They had a WIDE list of martinis that looked delicious, and made my go-to with speed and expertise. Vodka martinis hold a special place in my heart and they made it with the perfect strength. The spicy tuna roll had just the right amount of spice and mayo. I for one hate too much rice on a sushi roll, and this leave was generous with the tuna and went easy on the filet rice. Im in love. Nice heat. Would absolutely come again, especially because they have a happy hour menu.

Dennis D.

Yelp
Sometimes they have a miss night but overall this place delivers pretty good food and they are open to slight modifications to accommodate the guest, can't say it's the best place I've been to but it's a dependable spot....I love the miso soup here it just makes you feel so warm and fuzzy....

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place this weekend. They have sushi as well as noodle and rice dishes. My dinner date, aka my husband had pad Thai and said it was great. I had the spicy Thai curry with brown rice and it was delish. We both had the Mongolian mule..maybe two. The service was great too. It seemed like a lot of repeat customers! We will definitely go back.
google avatar

Yelp
My pad si ew was probably the best I have ever had!! The chicken was seasoned and cooked to perfection, the broccolini was so good in place of regular broccoli, and the noodles were perfect. It was fantastic. I knocked off a star because one, the music was too loud - I could barely hear my coworkers. Two, they were all out of Thai iced coffee and hadn't made any more. I was really craving it! Either way, everyone enjoyed their meal very much!

Robert K.

Yelp
Excellent food, garden salad with ginger vinagaret was a little sinus clearer very tasty. Had the steak kung pao and cleared the plate Tons of fish dishes We thought it was better than PF Changs

Erin K.

Yelp
Update: this place is crap now. Save your money or go to the real wok n fire in Elmhurst. Since the change they have crap quality veggie spring rolls- probably frozen from Costco. The chicken quality is worse than dog food. I decided to give my favorite dish another try tonight (double pan fried noodles add chicken- which they DO charge extra for) it tasted like frozen and thawed grisly meat. Totally disappointed in how down hill this place went. We used to come here weekly- now we will never be going back. This place is hit or miss lately with the quality of the food. I was there two nights ago that the same dish and it was the best I've ever had. I ordered a dish to go tonight of the same thing it was literally the worst I've ever had from there. The server Gianna is still wonderful.
google avatar

Yelp
OK - so I don't know what happened to this place since I've been gone, but I love the change! This place has done a complete 180 since my last visit and I ain't even mad about it. If they keep this up, I can see this Wok 'n Fire location rackin' up those stars. So, here's what you missed last time: came for the happy hour and the food was amazing, but the service was absolutely horrendous from the hostess to the server to the manager...NIGHTMARE Fast forward to my latest visit........................................................................................ For a quick going away meal before my train, my friend and I decided to hit up the happy hour special here (half off apps and select drinks!!!), taking our chances, especially after what had transpired last time - we were cautiously optimistic. Surprisingly, after arriving, we were greeted by the hostess, whom was very friendly and led us to the bar (note: happy hour special only valid in bar area) As quick as we were seated, our server, Tara, greeted us, told us about the specials, and got our drink orders. As usual, our eyes were waay bigger than our stomachs and we ordered: CHICKEN LETTUCE WRAPS Such a light and refreshing dish! There are so many textures with the cool crispy lettuce, unctuous ground chicken and crunchy fried noodles with a sweet and tangy sauce. YUM. CHICKEN DUMPLINGS These were nothing great - in fact, I know I can and have made better ones at home. Skip it! CALAMARI I'm a sucker for fried calamari. It is so frickin' tender and fried to crispy crunchy perfection! Just can't get enough of it. You just can't go wrong with this dish. It's served with a sweet tomato sauce - kinda like ketchup? SOOO GOOOD...get it! CRAB CAKE HAND ROLLS This dish is kinda a cross between sushi and a spring roll. There's a deep fried crab cake with rice, lettuce, avocado wrapped inside rice paper topped with a dollop of spicy mayo and sprinkle of sesame seeds - perfect bite! It's served with a yummy Asian slaw with cabbage, carrots, red onion and crunchy noodles - DELISH. TUNA POKE Poke is basically raw fish that's seasoned and marinated that's served throughout Hawaii. The poke comes served with crispy rice chips stacked up like a napoleon alternating with a layer of poke then chip and so on. It's served with pickled ginger and a wasabi sauce as well as a sweet sauce - I highly recommend this dish! The service compared to my last visit was day and night. The food came out super fast and Tara was incredibly attentive even though there were many patrons in the restaurant, always making sure to check on us and refill our drinks. Additionally, there was different manager filling in who was very friendly and welcoming while we were dining. Overall, we had amazing and CHEAP food (only about $25 for 5 large apps) with great service! I can definitely see myself coming back again if they keep up what they're doing!

Yelp
We had dinner here the other night. When we were greeted, we were informed that sitting at the bar affords you half-priced apps and sushi. Sign us up! We ordered the following: Hong Kong Calamari app - $10 Vietnamese Summer Roll app - $8 Kiss roll - $11 Spider roll - $10 Fantasy roll - $8 Negihamatchi roll - $8 Mexican roll - $13 = $68 regular total, so $34 pre-tax and tip. Not bad for two of us. Verdict: The Summer Rolls were okay. Though the I love my carbs and the noodles inside gave a good contrasting texture, it was a bit of a carb overload. Bok choy (?) Was the only veggie present. We LOVED the Calimari; it was seriously the best thing ever: large unbreaded calimari slices with veggies in a savory sauce... that is, UNTIL we found a 2" piece of melted cellophane in the dish. Sorry, but that totally turned me off. We showed our server, who apologized, took the dish, and deducted it from our bill. The Spider and Mexican Rolls were the most distinguishable and tasty, whereas the Kiss, Fantasy, and Negi Rolls were all very similar (minus the asparagus in one). They were OK, but the smallest (number of pieces AND size) maki I've ever had! The good part was that you could fit pieces in your mouth without a struggle, unlike the monster rolls at my favorite AYCE joints. If we had paid full price, though, I'd have felt ripped off. Service at the bar was pretty poor: we had to flag down our server for refills because he was schmoozing with a group of girls drinking wine. I guess that's what you get at the bar area, though. I wouldn't go running back to Wok 'n Fire, but I wouldn't discount it if there was a deal such as the half-priced one we experienced.

Yelp
New Year. New Name. Same Owner. This is the ridiculous sign that's been hanging over their restaurant since somewhere around October of 2016. That's right, their absurd sign is now relevant again if you're either the most unobservant person in the world or have never been there. I guess I should take the fact that this owner has no shame to mean that it will be up there for another year, but at this point I suspect it'll be there until Father Time takes it down. Why does all of that matter? Well, let me tell you, the fact that the owner is shameless enough to leave a sign up that should have only had meaning the first few months of last year up for a full calendar year says plenty about what you have in store for yourself if you are foolish enough to walk in. This place is a shadow of what it was when it was Wok n' Fire and in spite of what the sign is trying to imply, the service is worse, the food is worse, and the value is worse. The only thing you can say is the same is the decor. The best thing about this place was that it had reasonably priced sushi that was actually pretty good, too bad it's overpriced and crappy now! If that wasn't enough the entrees now give you less food compared to their Wok n' Fire counterparts. Owner, when Father Time decides to take the sign down for you, might I suggest your new one say, "New Year. New Name. Same Owner. Same Sign."? I think if you're going to openly make a fool out of yourself outside and inside of your restaurant, you may as well embrace it head on.

Yelp
I wish zero stars was an option.. We ordered for a work meal through Seamless- Expected delivery time was 12:30pm. Co-worker called to add small change to order, Bok Choy said that they did not have the order, their tablet was not charged (Plug it in...?). We called back again to get an update, they said that the driver was at the restaurant to pick up the order but could not confirm the order. Turns out, Bok Choy does not have internet so they are not able to take orders online so our order was canceled... Um, what year is it?

Yelp
bok choy is the best!!! while waiting for our pick-up order they powerwashed our car and hand-dried it!!! you must place an order with this place asap!!! food is amazing and they are awesome

Mike R.

Yelp
First saw him in San Diego at a pop up and he lit the dance floor aflame. My experience was so enjoyable that I followed him to NYC (across the country for me) just to see him live. He plays the perfect blend of Tech House and middle school throwbacks that will be sure to make your body waddle - as long as you don't act like a snobby model (tough for me). I also follow DJ Bok Choy on Instagram - a true renaissance man, that dare I say , is well ahead of his time. Looking forward to more big things from this up and coming DJ.

Yelp
It's been a while since I've been here and now I know why. I have to agree with some reviews here, that you spent a lot of money on the decor and music and NOT really on their food and wait staff:( Too bad, I believe in supporting my local businesses, so I hope they are looking into improving soon. We came here on a Friday night around 8pm so here's my Pros/Cons of this place... Pros: There's enough parking in the lot area. We got seated right away for 2 The bathrooms were clean The decor is Pan Asian modern style, cool looking, dark and trendy The music of choice sound like you're in a club fast pace beat The hostess was nice with a smile-after a long day of work it's nice to see that. Our main dishes were pretty big, enough for two to share The stir fried spinach with garlic was pretty good The brown rice well cooked Cons: -Our wait staff was not so attentive, refill for drinks took a long time and the place wasn't too busy. -They didn't have 3 of the cold sake we wanted available -They ran out of grilled asparagus, really? -The wrinkled green beans were ok, but a bit over cooked and one of them didn't have the ends cut off, ick. -The Papa's Choice Spicy Tuna Maki Special-we got 6 small pieces of sushi hardly any tempura flakes and tons of mayo sauce that we couldn't taste the spicy tuna and we LOVE spicy tuna:( -Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass was over cooked (tough and salty) -The chicken pad thai was good, but too much tofu and not enough chicken. I'll have to try the other locations like Elmhurst, maybe it's just this location that needs improvement? If I had to compare this with P.F. Changs as a chain restaurant, then Changs is much better Pan Asian (Oak Brook and Schaumburg). But again, I tried to support my local businesses.

Yelp
Same Owner, Different Name. I cant say enough how dissapointed I am after giving this restaurant a second chance. I visited before when it was called wok n fire. All they did was change the name. Everything started off on the wrong foot from the rude hostess to the waitress who gave me false information about specials and the menu. Food wise- Some was tasty but there are definitely more AUTHENTIC asian food around the area actually owned by people who know how to make the food right. I read some of the reviews about the owner Siri here and I have to say I agree- If you complain-- be prepared to get a call or a message of response harassing you. He doesnt apologize. He is not a good business man. He called me back being really aggressive. THe atmosphere is dark. Sure they have specials and happy hours to draw you in but I tried it and had a bad experience. I will not be back.

Yelp
Oh yes it's ladies night and the feeling's right! Monday night is ladies night. $5 specialty martinis....I'm in. Also 1/2 of specialty maki rolls. Done and done. Get the Jun roll, it was amazing, key notes: asparagus, jalapeno, avocado, spicy tuna. Bomb. Do it. I also had the Poppa's Choice roll, which was good, key notes: spicy tuna and mango. Still good, but that mango is really noticeable, and I didn't feel it necessarily meshed well with their particular spicy tuna. My friend and I also split the tuna and avocado poke appetizer which I wasn't overly excited for when we were ordering, especially since we were getting all of the rolls for 1/2 off and the appetizer wasn't.....but I was so glad my friend suggested it. Super delish. It comes on a little tortilla chip, or "crisp" as my friend called it. You should probably try it. They put a lil sriracha in there, which is probably a huge reason why I liked it. Kinda. Maybe. It was awesome.

Yelp
Idk why the bad reviews this is one of the best sushi spots I've ever been to and I have been to a lot of sushi spots. Ordered the st Charles and the shrimp crunch both off the specialty menu and they were to die for. Get them you won't regret it 8-7-18 Got the st Charles again, good as always, also got the kung pao noodles and they were amazing

Yelp
I walked in and was immediately greeted and sat very warmly. The atmosphere is laid back with a dim lighting that makes for a nice easy going time to check the menu and get drinks. I got the dragon roll, my friend got the calamari and fried rice. All the dishes were absolutely amazing. The presentation was splendid and the sushi was savory. Service was superb and timely. The place itself is set up very nicely and is easy on the eyes, making for a very accommodating environment. I will be going back for more this week!
