"And finally, Robb Report appears to have cracked the case of the identity of the mysterious “Mike from Seattle” who left a $2000 tip at Boka, reporting that “it appears that “Mike from Seattle” is Michael Cockrill, the former Chief Information Officer for the state of Washington, and now the Chief Technology Officer at the Altius Institute for Biomedical Science.”" - Daniel Gerzina

Came in from happy hour. Service was quick and easy. Ordered the cheese plate and calamari. Cheese plate wasn't super substantial, but they had some great pairings; worth the $10. I feel like calamari tends to be a really hit and miss appetizer, but they really hit it out of the part with it. It wasn't chewy at all and seems to be house battered. Great experience!

Food was great. The boka burger with truffle fries is perfect. The burger is lightly seasoned with plenty of flavor. Fries have truffle oil on them and are amazing. You can get them for happy hour during the week. Menu is limited but the food is great and the service is excellent.

I came specifically for happy hour, and it was awesome. They have a good assortment of happy hour food plates $4, $6, and $9 plates and a cocktail menu. We ordered truffle fries, Boka salad, crispy kale, and a wagyu rib-eye (also came with fries). The truffle fries were great, and not oily. The crispy kale was doused in cheese, so I wouldn't say it was anything special. I would liken eating crispy kale to eating crispy seaweed. I could do without ordered it the next time around, as with the Boka salad. Both weren't terrible, just nothing spectacular in my eyes. Onto the meats. They were totes amaze. The short ribs just fell off the bone and melted in my mouth. So good. We ordered the steak cooked medium, and it was the perfect temperature and texture. I was very impressed. For the price and portion of each small plate, it was a definite happy hour success. As for drinks, I ordered their drink special which was some vodka, blueberry lemonade concoction. It was... Not tasty at all. It tasted like cough medicine, not to mention it literally took 10 minutes to make it. The atmosphere was sexy. It's located right next to the 1000 Hotel, so I expected something fancy. I would definitely recommend this place for happy hour. The rest of the menu for dinner looked great too, so I plan on going back soon.

Fantastic atmosphere, happy hour was a good time to go Saturday night. I ordered a nice, sweet dessert wine that danced on my tongue for over 5 minutes. I also ordered the chocolate păté - for me, every bite was smile inducing & in-f**king-credible! I will be going back very soon. ..

To say the least, this restaurant completely under delivered my expectations. None of the three courses were any good, but let me start with the appetizer: I had ordered local oysters, and when my plate came it was a bunch of oysters (obviously) that were laid onto a bed of sea salt or some other variation of it. The oysters looked normal at first but upon biting into one of them I realized they had large hard chunks of salt stuck in the oysters. You would be eating and suddenly your teeth would land on a extremely salty shard. At this point I had just excused this as being a minor mishap or maybe some people liked salt in their oysters, so I was looking forward to the main course. For my main course I ordered Maine Lobster Paella, and upon receiving the dish I was quite shocked at the complete lack of lobster. I had ordered Main LOBSTER Paella and yet I had not a single piece of lobster in my dish! However I must say to the credit of the restaurant that they did give me a full refund on that dish which is extremely professional. By now I was annoyed with the restaurant for delivering both a sub-par main dish as well as a unappetizing appetizer (although that is opinionated) I was curious to see the dessert. Quite honestly I have no way to judge the quality of the dessert due to the fact that I ordered something I didn't like at all. The New Year's Duet was decent, so I have no strong opinions about it. In all, I just have to say that the restaurant failed to serve me a decent appetizer and main dish, albeit the dessert was average. Although your experience may differ from mine I still have to warn you to watch out for low-quality restaurants that run under hotels. Gordon Ramsey would have something to say. Thanks, -Duke

Wonderful food! We stumbled upon this restaurant because we were in downtown Seattle, it was very late, and BOKA was still open. We were surprised and delighted with the food and ambience. Pricy, but fantastic ingredients that justify the cost. I had the scallops, which were superb. The filet my husband ordered was divine, with an exquisite sauce. Drinks are small, so could be improved on in that sense, but we definitely plan to eat here again.

I dine frequently at Boka for lunch. I find that Boka has high quality food at very reasonable prices. Their hamburger is very gourmet. The fish tacos are also a treat. They have a $10 lunch special every day that is a full meal with high quality ingredients. Most lunch items are in the $12-$13 range and are served with a side and bread and butter or balsamic jelly. They have a loyalty card for lunch where you buy 6 and get one free. They server lemonade with fruit and the price includes one refill. I find Boka to be the best quality for the money for hot lunch in downtown.
