Best coffee I've had in Jacksonville! Walked in and was surprised to see a very nice pourover list. The El Salvador Gesha was super nice! Floral and tea like. The barista was really cool as well, chatting about the coffee with me. Can't ask for more in a specialty shop.

I use to love this place, but I can never get flavor in my latte tho I ask every time. And adding vanilla after the espresso touched milk is a coffee fumble. Then look at this, today i get the pleasure of added bean grinding a in my cup. Love the sandwiches, but service has fell off for sure.

Stopped in for a quick 2lb of coffee. I let myself run completely out of coffee beans?! Oh the humanity…😢 I arrived seeking flavorful, deliciously roasted beans what I purchased: (2) 10 oz bags and worth every penny!! These beans were roasted within the week! I typically like my beans a bit greasy but these were not that. I was pleasantly surprised with the flavor. I look forward to my morning cup! Thanks for your recommendation

A great stop for single origin coffee lovers. I got the columbia yonier mosquera. A great spot to chill as well. Super cozy location. Oh! And of course, the baristas were SUPER.

First time I went here and it’s a cute coffee shop. I got the hot chocolate and it was very good and a friend got a macchiato. Very nice atmosphere

This is definitely not the place to go if you’re looking for a good coffee. I ordered a hot pistachio rose latte, but what I received was far from it. The drink wasn’t even warm—let alone hot—and tasted like cold foamed milk mixed with pistachio syrup and topped with rose petals. It barely resembled coffee. Honestly, this was the worst coffee I’ve had in this country. I visited based on the positive reviews, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a huge disappointment. Don’t be misled like I was—save your time and money.

This place is not only good, it’s great. Best coffee in Jax. Excellent staff and ownership. Attention to quality, great selections, great baristas, GREAT music and yummy snacks. All coffee is roasted by Bold Bean and sourced well. Some food made in house, some from Le Petit, and some from Community Loaves. GO TO BOLD BEAN NOW

Very first time coffee drinker friendly! The menu explains the different milk ratios and sizes of cappuccino, macchiato, and latte. There are 5 options for pour overs, with the origins listed. We tried the Burundi Nyagishiru pour over and it has a delicious taste and a richness - not too fruity or floral, and not bitter. The coffee process were also reasonable. There's a lot of seating and beautiful art on the walls. The cappuccino was also well made with an option of all different milks, to include almond, oat, whole, and skim. The parking in the area is street parking and it is free.

If you are looking for a great local coffee shop with a hipster/chill vibe - definitely stop into Bold Bean. I stopped in to grab an iced matcha latte and catch up on some work. I did park on the side street at no cost. It was pretty busy for a Wednesday mid morning however I was able to find a table to sit at. I got a chance to watch the barista make my matcha and I was pretty impressed. Some places I have been to have it pre-made however, she literally took her time to whisk the matcha powder with hot water. It was pretty good as it was paired with almond milk. This was not sweet at all which I enjoyed unlike a lot of commercialized coffee shops. Working here was a great vibe and atmosphere. Everyone was so productive and it just made a perfect afternoon to get tasks completed. They do have free wifi and extended outlets for charging purposes. Whenever I'm in Jax, I will definitely come back to this coffee shop for not only a pick me up but a productive afternoon.

Super cute coffee spot! We ordered vanilla iced lattes, chocolate croissants and cinnamon sugar croissant and mango popsicles! The croissants were delicious. They served them warm. I would have liked for them to pf plated them as I had flakes of pastry all over the table. The coffee was solid. I ordered a medium iced vanilla latte. It came with 2 shots. I personally like a strong latte and next time I come I would order a extra shot in my latte. Mango popsicles were delicious.

Loved this place! Inside smelled delicious and was lively with plenty of space for seating. They have several homemade syrups - I ordered an iced vanilla latte which was delicious and not too sweet (although if you like sweet coffee I would recommend asking for extra syrup). Service was fast and the baristas were friendly. Will be coming back!

Overall, a great place for high-quality coffee.

This is a great place to explore different flavors. I usually order the same espresso drinks but today they helped us find something a little different than our usual - iced cappuccino with spicy chocolate. It was refreshing and delicious! Many thanks to the barista for helping us discover something new. The seating area was great for socializing and conversation. The music was soothing and not too loud. The WiFi requires your email address and zip. The signal was strong and zippy. The vicinity looks like a great place to walk. We drove here from a nearby art museum and found a nice parking space close to the cafe.

We are really hooked on this coffee. I have been going here pretty regularly for the last year, mostly to buy beans to go. The couple times I had coffee in the shop, the experience was enjoyable. The baristas are friendly, and it's a quiet place to work. Parking is usually available, but it does get busy on the weekends. The dark roast is our go to. We really are obsessed. I believe the beans are between $15-$20/bag. You can tell it's roasted fresh and each of the varietals have their own flavors. I highly recommend this local coffee shop!

I'm a yelper and we found this place and did the drive from St. Augustine, glad we did. The roast is divine I ordered a cappuccino the Mr. got a latte he wanted to come since he was fascinated with the coffee art. Inside is nice and spacious full of art available for purchase. Coffee beans available for purchase as well. We just came from eating a feast so we didn't grab food. Next time I will! Give them a shot ! You will love it

My friend and I decided to try this place out based on the reviews on Yelp. It's not far of a walk from the dim sum place, about 15mins maybe. Yes we walked to Bold Bean, from S&R Dimsum, because why not get the exercise in. When we first walked in we were greeted immediately. The service was super nice. Place is modern, peaceful, and had a nice atmosphere. Great place to come study if you need to. I ordered an iced vanilla cappuccino and let's just say, I didn't enjoy it that much. It was ok, not good, but not bad. Overall, great atmosphere, but as for coffee, I don't think I would come back for it.

Very nice spot! got some lattes with excellent and generous amount of flavoring! their pastries are delicious. quick service. plenty of place to sit inside and also some outside. free parking in the area, amount 1 min walk. great prices and friendly service. croissants are delicious with a crunch outside and soft inside, yummy, could have eaten 2, but can't be doing that, ha. will definitely be back!

My husband and I happened upon the Bold Bean Coffee Roasters a few days ago. We were visiting Jacksonville and were looking for somewhere nice to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine with a cold drink and a treat. We were greeted by a very friendly person at the front counter and our order was taken with a smile. We ordered two iced oat milk spicy chocolate lattes, a creamsicle danish and a guava cream cheese danish. We sat outside on the little patio to enjoy our food and drinks. The iced lattes were wonderful. The oat milk was so creamy and the flavour was just the right amount of sweet with a teeny bit of spice in the background. Both pastries were sooooo good. We loved that the restrooms said 'whichever' instead of having specific gender appropriations. We will definitely go back if we're in the area.

This was the worst coffee Ive ever had in my entire life. My milk was sour and the leftover bean debris was a thick layer at the bottom of my cup. I had a simple hazelnut latte with whole milk. I have worked in many coffee shops and know it is a very simple and easy order. My worst experience at a coffee shop in my life. Very disappointed. Will never return.

I've wanted to try this place for months finally made time to stop by. This is the exact atmosphere that I think of when I think of a "cafe" the decor is great. I had the latte with whole milk and I added a couple packets of cane sugar it was Perfect!! So fresh I loved it!! The ham and cheese croissant should I dare say "was one of the best I've ever had" taste like aged cheddar and uncured ham, I'll ask to be sure next time, and toasted to perfection. I also ordered a bag of the Ethiopian coffee have not tried it yet but can't wait. I love this place and thank the staff for the great service

Absolutely love bold bean! It's truly my favorite coffee in JAX. We live super close to this location and we visit often. I love their Lavender vanilla latte (Lavender is seasonal so you can't get it all the time) but when you can man is it good! The staff is friendly, the drinks are always great and it's a really nice place to read a book or meet a friend!

If you're a coffee shop "worker bee" like I am, this is an excellent choice! The vibe there was great for studying/doing work or just catching up with friends! Excellent coffee. Clean facility with lovely plants and natural lighting. The only thing I'd change was the music ... I could hear it through my earbuds and it wasn't quite my taste (Lofi/Indie). But it didn't bother me too much! Quality of the coffee definitely made it worth it !! And they're milk/foam art was beautiful.

Gosh, I'm quite embarrassed to give 3 stars because the baristas there treated me so so well and the ambiance is just so perfect. Customer service is literally the best. But to be honest... the coffee was subpar. I really hope it was just a bad batch that day. Let me rewind. So living in Jax for more than 2 decades this is THE BEST KNOWN coffee spot and THE coffee to compare to. I hate to have to be the one to say it but I was not impressed. Bold? I would say watery. Flavor ? Not very well balanced. My two orders were Iced Lavender Latte and Dirty Spicy Chai Latte. I need to know that my barista isn't just adding flavor pumps. That they know how to make those flavors work without it being the "holiday" or "seasonal" special they have a specific recipe for. Unfortunately, I could have made that same drink from my Keurig where the coffee is weak and the guessing game of flavors involves store bought lavender honey or my pre-made chai in a commercially prepared bottle. All I'm saying is, if I'm paying for it for $5+, it better not taste like anything I make at home as a non trained / wanna be barista. I really wanted to love it, I have just been to enough coffee places to detect when something is not up to my standards. Sorry Bold Bean. We can try again next time and I really hope to update this review with higher ratings.

Bold Bean is one of the better places in town for coffee that I have been to. They offer a new different roast each month called their "One Off". On the day I came they had a fruity flavored one which I got. It was very flavorful and I enjoyed it even though I am not a fan of fruity tasting coffees. The pricing was cheaper than Starbucks which was nice. The people working were really nice and answered all my questions. The shop has a cool casual vibe. There's plenty of places to sit down in there so you can enjoy your drink. It can get pretty busy. On the day I went I had to wait a little to get my drink. Parking here can be hard to find on certain days. It is street parking. Still worth checking out.

Customer service was good but the coffee was awful. Asked for oat milk but somehow it was bitter and sour tasting

Fun trendy place for coffee, lots of places to sit and WiFi. They have all the standard coffee drink options, house made syrups, almond & oat milk, swag, bags of coffee and also beer. I was a bit surprised at 6:30pm on Friday they didn't have any drip coffee available. We got americano which was good but oddly the splash of almond milk made mine almost cold and hubbys w/o and cream was like lava. I tried the spicy chocolate syrup and I wouldn't suggest it, not sure what makes it spicy but it was just weird haha

This was a nice local place. I liked that it was a pretty chill area, and friendly service. They make great coffee. It was a hip place, and seemed like an area of hipsters. Kind of a younger crowd, but not necessarily.. maybe just more young people then older. (18-30 crowd) A few people were older working on their computers. I got an iced dirty chai (chai with a shot of expresso). My friend got a cappuccino. And loved it. It was about $10 for 2 drinks. They had a good amount of seating, and also seating for a bigger crowd, like if you had a business meeting or something. They also had tables outside. I believe they had 2 out there, so not a ton, but it is an option. Some nice comfy chairs would have been nice, but they weren't uncomfortable either. Parking was not hard for a Saturday, which was surprising. We went around 4pm.

Stopped in for a quick mid morning snack and cup of coffee. There is plenty of parking for the business but due to it being on a busy road in Riverside, you may have to wait a few minutes to merge into traffic. Maybe try to park on a side street. The counter is a little crowded due to the close proximity to one of two exits/ entrances. Staff was friendly and attentive. I opted for a small cup of coffee (which is served in an actual cup not a paper cup - fun bonus). I also ordered a cinnamon croissant which was braided in a beautiful pattern and tasted light and airy (they will toast it if you ask). At 1030 the place was still pretty full but I found a small table to read and enjoy my snack. Coffee was strong and had a bold flavor and paired well with the croissant. Music was a little loud for my taste and led to several loud conversations. Made it hard to read but pleasant experience overall and I expect if I wasn't trying to read or had headphones I might have had a different experience.

Coffe here was really good but smaller than what we normally get at coffee shops. That's no big deal. The staff was very nice and helped me make a choice based on what I normally get. It was a really cute place inside a brink building.. lots of plants and very quiet for as busy as it was. The coffee took a little bit to be done which was fine because we sat down at cute table and all tables had plant as centerpiece. There's parking along street but didn't see a parking lot per say. It was easy to get back on road to our next destinatio

I just got an iced caramel latte with whole milk and it was actually the WORST drink I've ever had. Their beans were horrible. I wish I could've got a refund. I've never been so unhappy with a drink.

Bold Bean is one of my favorites in town. They are always friendly, mostly fast and always on point with the caffeine. Ive never once had a bad coffee here at Bold Bean and that extra shot in my iced vanilla latte really can make my Saturday. They play chill music and I've even heard DJ Shadow playing here more than once. That was pretty special to me as he's my favorite DJ of all time. The atmosphere is relaxed. The customers are younger and hip(ster) mostly. Lots of students here studying on laptops. I love BB.

Woke up this morning wanting coffee. I live next door to Starbucks, but I'm a bit more focused on supporting small businesses at the moment because of the Pandemic. My next closest shop was Bold Bean. Every time I drive past I think "that place looks so cute, I really need to go there!". But I never do. Well today not only was I craving coffee, I was out of my own personal stash. So I felt like this was the universe telling me to go, and I'm so glad it did! The place on the inside is so pretty. I get total Seattle/Vancouver vibes from here. It was my first time so I asked if they had any menus. They pointed to the HUGE one on the wall. Cool! They also serve been here!? (Another menu on the wall that I saw-but it was 6:30AM so I was going to have to come back yet again to partake in that good time ;) ). Anywho. I picked my drink and grabbed a London Fog for my husband because it's his favorite. I also grabbed a bacon cheddar biscuit! I got a Large Latte with oat milk. I just heard on a podcast how oat milk is the best non dairy alternative for latte art and froth and YUP! The guys here proved it! It was perfection! My coffee was epic! The taste was completely there. Oh so FRESH! Wow! I won't lie, I had a sip or two of my husbands London Fog and it gave me all the warm and fuzzy feels. These guys got it going on! My biscuit was insanely tasty too! I would 1000% recommend everyone go here! Haven't had coffee this good in quite a while-and honestly, I didn't think the East Coasters knew how to do it right, but I was proven very wrong today. I do wish they had a board with some speciality drinks though! They had some speciality syrups, but I'm no coffee alchemist. I def think making 2-3 seasonal speciality drinks and posting them big somewhere so people could see would be a super awesome added bonus! Because curry syrup sounds so wild and I wanted to add it, but I didn't know what in... Maybe they did have a board that I didn't see? There was a lot going on in there. And if so, they should definitely make it bigger, or post it closer to the drink board. Idk. Just a suggestion but they seem to be doing fine without it :) Thanks for the amazing coffee and biscuit!!

So I have been to a lot of coffee shops in Jax and this is my fair one of my favorites. I love the environment. Even though there was a lot of people it was very quiet and it seemed like people cared about how loud they were talking. The service was awesome and what I ordered to eat was really good

Cute local spot located in Riverside for coffee and pastries. The decor is industrial with current trends of plant life. The brick walls are beautiful and the open ceiling has small twinkling lights. The seating a enough for distance and small groups. I tried their plain coffee with almond milk and their chocolate croissant. The croissant is super flaky, ask for it warmed. The coffee was good but not as hot as I'd like. Overall good experience.

Went today, me and my friend's coffee were terrible. It's a nice environment and aesthetic, but I had the worst chai latte of my life. It tasted incredibly bitter and watery, too much cinnamon on top and none in the rest of the drink. We were super disappointed because my friend went a while ago and loved it. I really hope it was a fluke or something wrong with the machine.

Delicious coffee, great people. That's Bold Bean. When you walk in, you're greeted with the enticing smell of freshly ground coffee beans. That's enough to keep me sitting there all day. The coffee is delicious and so are the treats! For today's visit, I got the pimento sandwich that has green tomatoes, pimento cheese, and an onion jam. Unexpectedly one of my top 5 favorite sandwiches ever. The tomato tart is awesome too, and they have it year-round so I can get my tomato fix even in the off-season. I love that the staff is super nice and helpful. It really makes all the difference, especially in a time like now where everything feels foreign and uncomfortable. Thanks Bold Bean, I can't wait to be back!

I have been to over 50 coffee shops and none come close to the quality, atmosphere, and service of Bold Bean. Everything is perfect here. From the espresso (flawless) to the music (always find something new that I like). Ryan, Michael, Si, and all of the staff are amazing. Ryan and Michael's music is always perfect. My favorite place.

Love this little space! My latte was well-made and appropriately priced, employees were friendly and efficient. Great array of seating, from bar seating at the window to tables for small groups. Tons of local art on the wall and a handful of beers on tap I can't wait to return for.

Visited for the first time today and my oat latte was perfect. Just like it was expressed by another yelper. My hubby had a regular latte and enjoyed it as well. Staff was very friendly too. Took the time to explain the different coffees. The restaurant is spacious, wide and clean. We will return and maybe sit in.

Today I randomly decided to pop into Bold Bean around lunchtime for a quick latte to-go, and due to the warm, cozy environment and the friendly staff I decided to stay and sit a spell. I'm so glad that I stopped in! I ordered the 6oz latte with a bit of honey and vanilla, topped with cinnamon powder. The barista, Aubree, made it perfectly. I want her to make my drinks every time I come here! As I sat and enjoyed my scrumptious latte another barista, Ryan, was preparing some pour-over coffees at the counter in front of me. Boy did they smell amazing. He shared some information about the current blends with me and was very knowledgeable about what he was serving his customers. I love that! All in all, this place left a great impression on me. I will be back very soon to try out some of their beer and wine selections!

My latte was smooth and creamy. I would recommend and come back! I also was happy for the extra safety precautions including taped floors for minimum distance to counter/ other customers. As well as contactless payments. I hope in the future they switch to using lids that do not require straws for their drinks. I feel that being so close to the ocean it is imperative to take an environmental assessment of a businesses impact on the local ecosystem.

This is a Jacksonville staple. There's not much to say really. It's kind of hipster-ish and quaint but the quality of the product is excellent. The coffee is very smooth, light on the stomach, and not bitter. No artificial sweeteners available. Lattes are delicious. Usual assortment of pastries and food available. Parking is rough. Nice hangout with friendly people.

Do not think of coming here if you're disabled. The seating is so uncomfortable it's better to sit on the floor or even the toilet. It's a shame because otherwise it would be a great spot, but the seating is so vile it takes away from what could be. The baristas are nice though.

As a self-proclaimed coffee snob, this is my favorite coffee in jax. My go to is a plain latte (its how I judge most places and stand firmly on this technique) but i have no problem recommending anything in this menu

Quite a mellow, cozy, little nook! Perfect for studying, business meet ups, reading, or simply to sip on freshly brews of coffee and tea. I've visited three times already... maybe four but the very first didn't count as I was yet a Yelper... or maybe it did. LOL! I love the atmosphere of the café and didn't notice their factory or the room where they grind the beans was visible to guest. LOL! (Didn't capture any photos of that... next time.) I love the fact that they create their own flavors to add to their coffees and teas. With vanilla being my favorite - I normally add it to my cold brew or chai tea latte which is my favorite served hot. I haven't tried any of their small bites (breakfast sandwiches ) but, will definitely give them a try during my next visit.

Hip. Comfortable. Versatile. Coffee. So much coffee. I'm sitting here scrolling through businesses I haven't reviewed and I nearly fell out of my chair when the OG Bold Bean appeared on my list. It's one of my regular stops for good reason. Without hesitation, the community culture of Bold Bean brings a smile to my face. The coffee is the dopest dope I've ever smoked. The vibe hovers on the edge of Austin, TX hipster lifestyle. Yeah, I often feel like I'm not cool enough to hang with these crazy kids. The beers on tap are always rotating, and always spot on. It's much more than a Riverside staple, the brand itself and the philosophy behind puts Jacksonville on the map. Hands down, one of the top roasters in the Southeast. #BB4life

I got their dark roast coffee beans and this clearly does not look like a dark roast... medium roast at most. The beans doesnt look blackened, and doesn't have that oil that glosses the surface. It also tastes acidic. I'm disappointed.

In my opinion the best local coffee, great flavor and doesn't taste like straight up watered down sugar coffee, like some big chains.
