Bold Birds Nashville Hot Chicken

Really enjoyed the food here! We are always looking for Nashville hot chicken when we go into new cities. The chicken is definitely hot. On par with other hot chicken places we’ve tried. The classic plain fried chicken has really good flavor and isn’t too greasy and is juicy. The sides were our favorite. The Mac and cheese, collards and corn salad are musts. I’d definitely try if you like fried chicken and Nashville hot.

Nice stop in the Murray Hill area. The chicken is definitely HOT. Tabasco-based spice. Recommendation is same as I see in other reviews. Get MEDIUM on your first visit. Our party got chicken sandwich (medium), chicken tenders (hot) and chicken wings (hot). Great preparation (the chicken was freshly cooked and came out piping hot) and friendly service. Do not miss the banana pudding - was nice end to the meal. Will visit again.

Love the food here. The chicken is juicy and well seasoned. ‘Medium’ has a decent spice level without being overwhelming. Parking can be a pain depending on what time you go. The inside is not the most inviting - feels cold like a school cafeteria.

This is, by far, the best NHC I've had outside of Tennessee, and certainly among the best I've ever had, period. Perfectly fried, crispy and juicy tenders. I opted for the "Hotter than a Mother Clucker" heat level, which is their hottest. And it certainly made me sweat, but not at the sacrifice of a beautiful taste. What a great experience here. Highly recommended!

Our first time here & we dined in. Went on a Sunday afternoon, about 2 hours before closing (they close at 3pm on Sundays). It was a bit slow for service, only had 1 person up front running things but she was incredibly kind & helpful. The food was delicious, worth the wait. A ton of spice & flavor but not too hot. I got the Pimento Cheese Chicken Sandwich with fries. The sandwich was so HUGE & juicy, flavorful, tender. I would definitely eat it again. My fiancé got the tenders & they were just as good! He got Mild flavor & I opted for Hot. Hot wasn’t really too spicy, but just right! If you like Nashville Hot flavor, you’ll love their chicken. We also got banana pudding & it was delicious! Only reason for the 4 star rating is the price. It was almost $50 for us to get a Chicken sandwich, tenders, fries, tea & very very small portion of dessert for the price ($5.50). Drinks aren’t included which is silly, considering the food is going to make you thirsty haha. I don’t know if we will come back due to the price, but definitely worth the experience! I’d recommend trying them at least once. Great ambiance inside the restaurant & they have outdoor seating as well!

Loved everything about this place! The food was phenomenal. The location was super convenient. The atmosphere was perfect! My kids enjoyed the kids' meals, and my husband and I loved the chicken sandwich.

Aight let’s be real, the chicken is great!!!! If it’s your first time start with medium heat and if you are a real heat fan then go up there and ask for the motherclucker!!!! The sides like the Mac & cheese and the collard’s could use some help but they are good. Maybe stick with the fries. I Will visit for some more fried chicken, Hell yeah!!!! So far the best for me!!! Oh and don’t forget the banana pudding!!!

Bold Birds is delicious! I tried them for the first time a few months ago and have been back 3 times since then lol I love it! I tried hot the 1st time but medium is just the right amount of spice for me! The baked beans and fried pickles are delicious also. I look forward to trying the other sides!

Hot Chicken here is pretty good, freshly cooked and spicy! Thr spice level on the menu is pretty honest, so if you like hot.. get hot. But what surprised me the most during my visit today was the young staff. It's noticeably difficult to go to restaurants with young workers that take pride in their jobs and making guests feel welcomed. And that was just the case today! The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable, and stopped by tables to ensure everyone had what they needed. This is the key loyal customers in an overcrowded food scene. Good job!

Bold Birds does not disappoint, if you like Nashville hot chicken , then this is the place for you in the Jacksonville area. Right amount of heat, right amount of flavor. And if you're going to get fries, do yourself a favor, get the loaded crinkle cut fries, it's almost like loading it up with Big Mac sauce, pickles and additional chicken... dare I say even better than the chicken sandwich overall!?

Wanted to like this place, my boyfriend was excited to try it but it was just eh. Maybe a 2.5 out of 5 stars at best. Their signature sauce was weird it tasted like olives and olive oil heavy. The Mac n cheese was good but boil in a bag type. The toast was just toast... no butter or flavor. We got a few things to try and the chicken tenders were good and juicy but the hot sauce is hot with NO flavor, just tasted like spicy oil. It was strange. The coleslaw was okay. My bf did enjoy the baked beans with pineapple. It was $11 for two tenders ? That's steep IMO. Anyway I'd rather go to zaxbys. Lady up front was really nice and helpful tho. Overall not bad just not for me !

I love this place and especially love it being in Murray Hill. It is a nice break from pizza, tacos, and burgers. I have had hot chicken IN Nashville and I can honestly say I enjoyed it from good old Bold Birds in Jax much more!! The food is always fresh and hot, both in temperature and in spice. When they say it's hot, they truly mean it. So tread lightly on that spice level scale when you order :) I typically get the tenders but opted for the 1/4 white meat chicken this time. All was good and very delicious. At times service can be slow, but it's worth it since the food does typically come out hot and freshly cooked. Another aspect about this place I wish could be improved is portion size. The sides come in a small styrofoam cup, I often leave this place still kind of hungry. At the price point, I really wish the portions were bigger especially for sides (Mac n cheese is $4 for the pictured). The sides are so tasty and my favorite part but I do wish there was more bang for your buck. Happy to have this place and hope they accept these suggestions for improvement.

After a nice long 15 mile bike ride, my husband and I decided that we deserved a *treat*! This spot was super convenient to the trail and it was GOOD. Nice and simple interior, plenty of space for you to sit and enjoy your meal, and pretty easy and quick service. We put in our order, sat down - my husband drank his milkshake (LOL) and then our chicken arrived. We went with medium spice - it was pretty spicy but super flavorful. I liked the seasoning and it went well with our dipping sauces! We tried 3 different and all of them were good. I'm a classic ranch girl but enjoyed trying the other 2 as well. Fries were decent but I wish they were a little crispier. Overall 4/5 stars and no major complaints! Go check it out!

Always have a great bite to eat at Bold Birds! The food is always hot and fresh and the service is quick and accurate. I love the laid back vibes of the place and the outside seating is great too. Stop on by and check them out. You won't be disappointed trust me.

I'm impressed with this place!! I've come quite a few times now, for both dine-in and take-out. The interior is pretty spacious, chill vibe and always clean. Everyone working there has always been super friendly and patient as I never know right away what I want. I've tried their comeback sandwich, their wings, their tenders, and their dark meat combo and all of the chicken has been delicious! Big, juicy, flavorful, this is probably as close to Nashville Hot Chicken as you're going to get in Jax. I always get medium heat which in my opinion is honestly closer to mild - but I'm scared to go up a notch. So that could just be my fault. Their sides are pretty solid too. Fries are delicious, greens are surprisingly good. The mac and cheese is okay. I love their dipping sauces and also love that they have local and seasonal beers on tap. All in all, they know what they're doing here and this is a consistently tasty dining option in the area. I will continue to happily give them my money.

We're baawwwk! That bold mother-clucker was savage again, but I can take the heat. They surely stepped up their spice game today!

I was hanging with the boys around Murray Hill the other day when we noticed that a new hot chicken spot had opened up. Me being a fanatic for Nashville hot chicken was super psyched, and I went to check it out! Going inside, there was a good amount of seating, and no wait. I ordered half a bird, heat level mother clucker, with my side being the mac n cheese. Going into my review, the food as I expected was good! Looks can be deceiving as the mac n cheese appeared watery, but it actually possessed a nice creamy flavored white cheddar sauce! The Nashville hot chicken had a nice crispy exterior, and that spicy yet addictive bite you crave. Personal preference, but I did the find the chicken a little dry, and would've liked more hot oil on top. Trust me, when that hot oil seeps in the chicken omg. Despite my critques, it was still a delicious piece of fried chicken. The mother clucker for those who are wondering is no joke as it will definitely leave your mouth with a lingering sensation of pain, but I find that you build a little bit of tolerance with each bite. I can only imagine how fatal the hotter than a mother clucker is lol. Overall, the service and food were good. If I was near the area, I'd probably come back here again. Final verdict 4.2/5.

First time trying this place and I must say it didn't disappoint. The spices and flavors and sauces were fantastic. First and foremost the head cashier or the bead hostess greeted me and my Gf as soon as we walked in. She saw it was our first time and was very patient and wonderfully knowledgeable on the menu. She broke down the temperature for each spice. Her name was I believe DOT. She's wonderful and speaks to you like if you were part of her family. I ordered Mimi's Chicken and Pimento Cheese sandwich with a side of crinkle fries. The spice for my chicken sandwich was medium. And that medium spice had me comfortable sweating while eating the sandwich. The bread was nice and soft with that Pimento cheese was foodgasm within every bite. The chicken breast was to crispy but wasn't to soft as well it was just fried right. My GF had the Jumbo 3 tenders meal with coke slaw. Unlike me she doesn't do spicy very well so her tenders came dry with no sauce on top but had ranch and honey mustard sauce on the side which she enjoyed very much. The final thing we ordered was the Loaded Chicken Crinkle Cut fries. And in any review I've done with crinkle fries I Judge very harshly because crinkle fries should all be done the same. But I will tell you that these load chicken crinkle cut fries were made with God's love because it tasted if this was on the table of the last supper Good. The chicken was made to perfection while the fries must have been fried to the exact T, that fries need to be taken out of the fryer for. Lastly, they added their sauce called comeback sauce I believe and that was the cherry on top of a Beautiful cake or milkshake! Just check out my pictures to see the deliciousness photo graphs. My picture are always good but I always say please go try them out yourselves I promise you won't be disappointed.

Welcoming and friendly staff as soon as I entered. Ordering line on the left seating on the right. Ordered myself half a bird to go, classic style (because the base should always be judged before anything else) and an order of their cheddar Mac and cheese. First appearance is I did not just pay $18 for this... they fry in quarters.. cutting corners.. and why would you put pickles on the chicken ???? Clearly to ruin the crispness on the underside of the pickle. Batter is good just lacking in flavor.. and no flavor penetration into the meat underneath. Meat was juicy.. just flavorless. Their cheddar Mac and cheese was meh. Very Very watery.. soup like Fried chicken, like pizza, is serious business and unfortunately I can't recommend this place. Would have been happier with Popeyes and that's saying something..

Love Nashville hot chicken so was interested in eating here. There was a hot chicken sandwich, medium chicken sandwich and mild chicken tenders. Sides tried were fries, coleslaw and beans. All the food was very good and will come back. Only problem was we never received our fried pickles but that was taken care of perfectly.

Overall quality of the food is very good but when it comes to true Nashville chicken the heat level on this chicken is very over-rated. Spoke with the cashier on the heat levels and they stated the medium packs a punch. This was not the case. Requested the hottest heat level sauce on the side (which was new to me as the Nashville hot chicken I usually have is seasoned with a rub) they had and that brought some heat but after fries and the milkshake the heat was gone. I don't know about y'all but I want to be sweating when I'm eating Nashville Chicken. It's like a test of your body to handle the sweating and the heat when the chicken is so good.

Food was amazing along with the staff. My only complaint was the cheese fries were extremely salty almost unbareable. I can't wait to come back but I will skip on the fries.

Ordered the salad and added chicken for about 16$ it was unbelievable small side salad size for the price of a full salad. And I got maybe 1/8 of a chicken breast that came with it. Extremely over priced for what you get and very very disappointing. They need to rethink their approach to salads and portion sizes compared to price basically got some lettuce and 2 chicken nuggets...

I have seen this place in the past and wanted to try it. I have never had Nashville hot chicken before. I have tried to get Hattie B's in Nashville a couple of times but the line is ALWAYS around the block. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. The staff was helpful to answer questions and patient as we made our choices. There was a man going table to table, asking if anyone needed anything and checking on food quality. This is a lost art in small places like this. I had the chicken sandwich and fries, medium heat. I feel like the choices lean a little to the hot end of the scale. I really like spicy food so it was good to me but if you are sensitive to spicy food, maybe order down a level from your normal. The sandwich was great, the fries were crinkle cut which are my favorite so I really enjoyed the meal. The only flaw I experienced was the restroom facilities. Restrooms are a big deal because the conditions of the restrooms are usually in line with the kitchen condition. he restroom is small, has a commode and a urinal but is really set up for 1 person at a time. There are no stalls. I always thing this is a strange set up. The restrooms were clean but totally out of paper towels and they do not have an automatic dryer so I had to use napkins from the dining station. We were there about an hour and when we left the problem had not been corrected. The menu has some interesting options I would like to try so I will probably be back.

Disclaimer: this is my first time trying "nashville hot chicken" but I am of Caribbean descent & know good fried chicken. The chicken (tenders and on the sandwich) were fried well and presented beautifully, however it was lacking in the flavor department. The spice was just spice and underneath the breading there was no seasoning at all. The loaded fries saved the dish for me, they were soooo yummy! They're definitely a must try. All of the staff were super attentive and friendly and the restaurant was clean and had a great playlist to set the vibe. I would give it another try

My family stopped here for the first time and we found it to be pretty delicious. I got the chicken sandwich which came with coleslaw on it. I got the mild, but would probably choose medium next time. The chicken was a good size and the pickles that came on it made the sandwich taste even yummier. I got Mac and cheese as my side. It is wasn't a thick Mac and cheese, but it was still very good. Our food did take a while to come out, but that may have been because of my husbands chicken wings. Overall I would go back.

Not what we expected. Chicken soggy, Mac and cheese watery, fries unseasoned and they charge extra for sauce. Not to mention, their shakes don't have any flavors. PDQ is better than this place. Highly unrecommended. Although, lady at the front is nice and understood.

This was a quick, fun lunch stop on my recent drive from St. Augustine to Georgia - and I probably wouldn't have found it without Yelp. But I'm soooo glad I did, because this place was fast, affordable, and delish. We started off with some of their pimento cheese fritters. Hot and full molten-lava-like cheese, extra care is needed when shoving these into one's piehole. But wow, are they packed with flavor. Crispy on the outside, creamy and pimentoey on the inside, I coulda eaten a whole tray of these. Alas, I had to save room for the main course. Soon enough the chicken sandwiches arrived. I ordered mine with the hot sauce (hey, I like to live dangerously) and it lived up to its name. After only a few bites I was sweating like a tardy teenager with a strict curfew. But it was a good sweat, you know what I mean? The accompanying collard greens side was no slouch either. It was and incredibly delish and filling lunch before hitting the road. Oh and special shoutout to their lovely, historic-feeling back patio. We loved the mural! Service was super friendly, too. My only complaint: chicken 'n waffles wasn't available the day we went. Waaaaaaa.

Wow - I am going to be the buzzkill here, but I was MAJORILY unimpressed with this place. I've been eyeing it since opening but haven't had the chance to drop by until recently. I ordered the mild dark meat with collards while my wife ordered the tenders with Mac and Cheese. When I say unimpressed the chicken was not seasoned whatsoever. Collards were decent. Wife's tender was bland as well and she only took one bite of the mac n cheese, which is badddd... $10 for a thigh and leg plus a side is not affordable - Maybe if we lived in California. There's so many other places you can get some decent fried chicken and throw some hot sauce and a few slices of pickles on it. This place ain't it. Service was terrible too but I won't get into that.

Overall pretty good chicken!! I usually get the tenders. The fries and the Mac and cheese are yummy and I've seen people go in on the baked beans too. The one thing that disappointed me was the bread. It's all the way at the bottom and it's just a slice of mediocre white bread. I considered myself someone who can really handle some spice until I had some chicken from here. For anyone new, I would recommend really praying about what spice level calls out to you before ordering a mother clucker or hotter than a mother clucker!

I've been hearing about this place for awhile and it did not disappoint! I forgot to get a pic of the jalapeño pimento poppers but dangggggg I could have eaten a whole tray of those. A must if you visit Bold Birds! I ordered the wings in mild (I'm kinda a baby but I think I could have handled medium). The quality of the chicken and the breading was INSANE. Best I've ever had. I guess I thought they wouldn't be fried wings so next time I'll get a sandwich or tenders. The Mac n cheese was not my favorite though....it was a little bit dryer than I saw in other pics and personally I don't like the smoky or whatever type of seasoning they added but that's just preference! My husband got a the sandwich (spice level hot) and absolutely loved it! We got a side of the mother clicker just to try and WOAH. It immediately hits your tongue like fire. But tasty. And the staff was so helpful and kind, I will absolutely be returning!

Nice casual place with great chicken! I highly recommend the Hughes' Hot Chicken Sandwich with medium spice. The food came out within 5 minutes of sitting down, still piping hot! The 3 Piece Tender Platter that Trevor ordered was a nicely sized portion of food, and I though that the medium spice level had the perfect amount of kick. Even the fries tasted great, whatever seasoning they put on it paired perfectly. 10/10!

Great experience at this location, which has been a number of things previously, right across from Moon River Pizza and around the corner from Community Loaves, two powerhouse restaurants in the area. Can Huey's break the curse of this location? I think so. Parking was fine when I went, but this is a food Mecca with two breweries coming on line and the other restaurants so you may have to park nearby. Just want you to know what to expect, but there is plenty of parking out front, if it is not filled up. A few other house rules: COUNTER SERVICE SELF SERVE DRINKS FOOD SERVED TO YOUR TABLE But the food MM, what about the food????? Spice - goes from classic to NUCLEAR (hotter than a mother clicker). It is a not just hot spicy, it is has some really wonderful flavoring. Classic Dark - I enjoyed the flavor and crispness of the chicken crust. It reminded me of old southern fried chicken. To get it that crisp, it may have been a tad over cooked, but still good. Mild White - There is a kick to this one, not quite as crisp but I thought it was quite tasty. I am sure anything above this would put me into some sort of shock, so go HOTTER AT YOUR OWN RISK.*** Corn salad - this was a star for me, really good savory flavor, served cold. Mac n Cheese - I did not try this but my lunch partner thought it was fantastic This was not so over the top that I am going back tomorrow or next week, but I will be back. I eat a lot more vegetables these days, so it just not fit my lunch profile. But if you want spice, you crazy Mother Clucker, you have come to the RIGHT PLACE.

Y'all... This chicken is fire. And like literally I mean fire. Do not I repeat do not get anything hotter than medium. I love heat. I like spicy Thai and Indian food. But their medium level did me in. Next time I'm going to get mild. And I haven't had mild since I was a child. Do yourself a favor and get those pimento cheese jalapeño fritters. Those are thebomb.com. I got half chicken with some mac & cheese. Mac & cheese was on point. You need at least four ranch sauce just for yourself if you are going to get medium level. Stay spicy my friends!

The staff is very friendly and patient when explaining the different heat levels. It's located in a pretty easy to find location. Plenty of parking. Food came out fast and hot. Big portion of fries. Definitely worth a visit !

Five stars for the hot chicken sandwich and the come back sauce I love a quality quick counter service spot... just saying kids can be a little impatient waiting for food. The mild hot chicken sandwich was perfect. I wouldn't change a thing. Creamy come back sauce complimented it well. The salad was nice with the classic fried chicken. I really appreciated the sweet peppers, tomatoes and feta with their balsamic dressing. Kids meals were pretty good. No complaints from my crew. I liked the Mac n cheese . The baked beans were also legit (authentic BBQ flavor). Fried pickles dipped in the comeback sauce Looking forward to coming back soon!

Hostess was friendly and answered all the questions I had. The food did take about 20 minutes to come but it was hooot to the touch. They have a nice sitting area outside in the back with fans and umbrellas. I enjoyed the tenders, but I'm not much of a hot chicken lover. The fries were crispy and slaw is creamy. My husband, on the other hand, will eat here every time he's in the area and loves it. Very similar to Hattie B's but not as spicy.

I'm not into chicken like that but this place makes me. I love the amount of sauce choices they have and their chicken is juicy as hell. I normally get the loaded fries+ hot chicken with ranch, hot sauce, and comeback sauce on the side. Food comes out fresh and the customer service is great. There is a new employee there who I wish I remembered his name but you'll know exactly who I'm talking about when you go, he's polite, helpful and entertaining to talk to.

The spice level for the chicken here is amazing. Very HOT. Loaded fries are such a great deal.

If you like really cold beer and hot chicken this is the place for you. Just had a draft Yuengling and it was one of the COLDEST draft beers I have ever had. Kudos to their keg setup!! The chicken was very good. My wife and I each had the quarter mild. I learned my lesson in Nashville when I ordered hot. Will not do that again. Very good chicken and fries. My wife had collards with her meal. Most of the spices had settled at the bottom of the basket. There was also a piece of white bread underneath the chicken. I didn't mind that at all and the bread was delicious. Restaurant was very clean. Floor was a little sticky. Service was fast and friendly. Food came out very quickly. We were there about 7:30, and there were only a few patrons. When we left about half an hour later the line was very long. We will be back again. I hope this restaurant does well in one of my favorite Jax neighborhoods....Murray Hill.

This place was recommended by a friend for having the best chicken sandwich. We read some reviews prior to heading over & saw that their chicken spice level can get very spicy. So we arrive. We got the whole fried wings, fried chicken sandwich, with crinkle fries, Mac & cheese, & 3 count fried pimento cheese ball. As you can see, everything is fried lol. We got it in medium spice. Waited about 15 mins for our food, which isn't too bad, but the place is pretty big & lunch rush was steady. Food arrived, looking pretty red (aka spicy), & it was. I would not call that a medium spice. After a few bites you really start to feel the discomfort & had to take breaks in between. The Mac & cheese saved us in having access to something to tone the discomfort that happens in your mouth when you're eating something too spicy. & we like spicy spicy but it was probably one level too much. Mac & cheese were good, very southern style which I love. Pimento cheese balls were very rich & glad we only got the 3 count for I can only eat one, but it was delicious. Everything was tasty, crispy, & very much southern style indeed. Would return but get it at mild next time.

I always wanted to try this place...I love spicy chicken. I finally visited today after my manger told me for the 3rd time how good there chicken is and it's spicy. First 2 vist she got hot, 3rd vist she got mother clucker and they was spicy. My vist was nice, restaurant was clean, the young lady that took my order... was nice and helpful. I ordered the mother cluckers... wings are delicious. Wasn't spicy enough for me. Next vist I will be getting hotter then mother cluckers. I also purchased my husband a shake. Best shake ever he said. I will be going back.

Ordered the chicken sandwich and cheese fries. Iordered the chicken mild. Not much kick to it and I will order it medium next time. Chicken was great and loved the cheese fries. I also really enjoyed the Comeback sauce! Staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurant was clean. We will definitely be back!

I've been waiting to try this place for a good minute. Only living a short distance away. I order the "Hot Chicken Sandwich" and my heat level was "Hotter than a Mother Clucker". Delicious! The heat got me in the beginning due to the sauce is made from ghost peppers. My chosen side was collard greens. Both items were up to part and I strongly recommend. Prices aren't to bad either. But if you can't handle heat choose another level of heat. The one I chose was the hottest.

This is really good chicken!! The sides are pretty good also. The service is great! The staff was very friendly and their recommendations were on point. I would recommend them for your fried chicken choice!!

I moved into the area and decided to try them out. I'm so glad I finally did. They are so good! I've only gotten take out twice. Haven't dined in yet. I usually go after work and there is little to no line. The staff is super helpful and friendly. I get the classic tenders with fries with no sauce. I get ranch on the side. The tenders are real pieces of meat that are lightly breaded. They are big pieces! The fries are really good too and you get a lot! The pickles are good too. You get one sauce with your meal. The ranch has amazing flavor but it's really runny. It would be bomb if it was thick and creamy.

I've eaten alllll over the United States every state many times as a prisoner extraditions officer transporting criminals lol. And this is the best MUTHERCLUCKIN chicken on the planet if you don't go here and say the same you need to see a shrink omg crispy crunchy spicy juicy tender Deliciousness in jax. I get it 2xs a week and picked it up yesterday and Holly God I couldn't wait I was tairing it up while driving hot from cooking but mouth watering so bad burning my fingers eating that mutherclucker and thanking God lol.

I decided to wait to try Huey's until the "new restaurant" lines died down, wait times were shorter, and operations were smooth and I think we visited at just the right time. We called in our order before we began driving there and we were given a 25 min wait time. Just as we pulled up, I got a text indicating that our food was ready, about nine minutes early. As I walked in, the space was familiar as I'd been to Murray's Tacos which previously occupied the space. The dining room was large, as was the ordering counter up front. A temporary menu hung in the backdrop behind the counter and the seating area was sparsely populated and decorated. We ordered a hot chicken sandwich with fries, mild dark meat chicken and waffles with the syrup and powdered sugar on the side, a side of macaroni and cheese, and the small order of jalapeño pimento cheese fritters. The food smelled so good during the drive home. In my opinion, Huey's did a lot of things well. First, the chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Second, the heat level was congruent with the scale. Third, they seasoned the food! The chicken was not only spicy but it was flavorful, something that not all chicken places have mastered. Similarly, the fries were seasoned and the mac and cheese had salt and pepper. Fourth, their brown butter waffle was seriously good...and not soggy. Fifth, the portion sizes of the chicken dishes were great and the value was there. I noted that they now have a full waffle versus the earlier half waffle portion. I must admit that the sides could be larger for the price. I was so glad that we visited during the weekend as I'm a chicken and waffle fan and let me tell you, Huey's did not disappoint.

Bold Bird's took over the location formally called Huey's. it has the same decor and menu. They offer mostly fried chicken options with different spice levels. but, be careful! Even the mild packs a punch.

Food was delicious! Tender sizes were huge and filling! The staff were friendly and service was good. The food came out at a reasonable time as well. Definitely would go back!

At long last.. we have been meaning to get over here and check out the hype!!! Now we cannot stop thinking about it.. (it's that good) Nice draft beer selection to make the hubs happy! I had some yummy fresh brewed sweet tea!! We both got the chicken sandwiches with one side. Both went with classic for the heat and come back sauce. Hubs got the crinkle fries! What the what?? Those fries are good!!! I mean like really good!! I got the macaroni and cheese and it was rich and delicious. You MUST get the pimento cheese fritters.. (do it) These babies are delicious!! Little bit of heat but at the end. We sat outside which I suggest. Nice hangout spot, great vibe. Clean bathrooms. Polite staff. We shall be back!!!

If you love Nashville hot chicken, do yourself a favor and get here as soon as you can! The location was easy to find and we were able to snag a parking spot right up front. As soon as you walk in, you get hit with the wonderful scent of Nashville hot chicken. Hubby and I both ordered the tenders meal. He chose hot with fries and comeback sauce; I chose medium with baked beans and blue cheese. Even with the medium heat, be ready for your mouth to be on fire! These chicken tender were spicy and huge! We each ended up taking one tender home with us. Side note: They were very good straight out of the fridge as well. The baked beans were very tasty. They had a unique BBQ flavor and were loaded with chunks of delicious pork. The fries were cooked well. The comeback sauce was creamy and flavor packed, it paired perfectly with the spicy tenders. This place competes with any place in Nashville. I can not wait until our next visit! Although, next time I think I'm ordering the mild heat :)

We had plans to visit Nashville and one of the reasons was to try Nashville Hot Chicken. When we heard about Huey's Nashville Hot Chicken, we figured we would give it a try. Huey's Nashville Hot Chicken is located in the Murray Hill area. We visited on a Saturday morning and arrived about 15 minutes before they opened (11:00am) and there was already a line of customers waiting at the door. Huey's had many signs requiring Masks for customers and staff, social distancing, and limited seating. They also have outside seating. Huey's has 5 Spice/Heat Levels CLASSIC - No Heat MILD MEDIUM HOT MOTHER CLUCKER HOTTER THAN A MOTHER CLUCKER We ordered the following: HUEY'S Hot CHICKEN SANDWICH | $9.50 Comeback sauce, coleslaw, pickle on the side, and CHEDDAR MAC N' CHEESE side. Mild Heat level. - Heat level was probably mild to medium for most. Mac and Cheese was okay but probably would not order again. HUEY'S Hot CHICKEN SANDWICH | $9.50 Comeback sauce, coleslaw, pickle and COLLARDS side. Medium Heat level. - Heat level is probably spicy for many. The sandwich had a good crunch from the coleslaw, pickles and chicken breast breading and a decent kick. The softness of the bun and the tenderness of the chicken balanced the crunchy texture. The collards were tasty and seasoned. Would order again. JALAPEÑO PIMENTO CHEESE FRITTERS | 3 FOR $4.00 OR 5 FOR $6.00 Served with Comeback sauce. - These were a definite hit! Crunchy gooey textures and Pimento goodness. You'll want to spring for the 5! Would order again! HUEY'S Hot CHICKEN SANDWICH | $9.50 Comeback sauce, coleslaw, pickle, and BAKED BEANS side. HOTTER THAN A MOTHER CLUCKER heat level. - Heat level (See below) The baked beans has a little heat to them and sweetness with the Pineapples mixed in. TIP: If this is your first time visiting Huey's and you are looking to try out any of their sandwiches above Hot, you should order the medium spice first just to try out/test the heat level, taste, and enjoy the meal. When I ordered their chicken sandwich with the hottest spice level (HOTTER THAN A MOTHER CLUCKER), they gave me their disclaimer...Sir...just to let you know it has some of the hottest peppers (Ghost, Habanero, Cayenne, etc.)..are you sure? This had me second guessing ordering...but I at least had a plan to warm up with the medium sandwich. Starting out their hottest spice level wasn't so bad. Just like the medium Sandwich, the heat level doesn't really hit you until a little halfway through...then BOOM..your mouth and throat feel like they are burning to a crisp! I powered through the Sandwich without drinking anything but you will definitely want a cold drink and then some nearby afterwards. It had me sweating in the end and I was holding back tears from the heat :) Definitely NOT tears of joy afterwards! Those with sensitive stomachs (bring the Pepto for the Heartburn)! All in All we will probably be back. The prices were reasonable and they have a pretty good chicken Sandwich, sides, and the Pimento Cheese Fritters. I would have given our visit a 5 star review; however, we did have to wait 30 minutes after our order to get our food and we were like the 3rd order in the restaurant at the time.

We stopped by Bold Bird while passing through Jacksonville today. We were in the mood for a hot chicken sandwich and this spot hit the spot. We decided to order it hot and also went with a side of jalapeno pimento cheese fritters. Our food came up fast and was delivered to our table. It all looked good. The fritters were really tasty and hit the spot. The hot chicken sandwich had good flavor and the heat level was rather mild. The chicken was nice and crispy and worked well with the other toppings. We enjoyed our meal and would certainly return. Food was good, service was fast, and it was also friendly. Solid spot for lunch.

Finally got to try Hueys and it sure didnt disappoint. The counter servers were very friendly and were happy to help guide me thru the menu. We made our decisions and headed out to the patio and sat under a umbrelled table in the shade. Our server was very cheerful and prompt with our chicken selections. I enjoyed the mild 1/4 chicken with a corn salad. The chicken was juicy and tender inside.The breading was YEZZZZ. My daughter tried the medium tenders and after wiping the tears away she stated it was delicious and even my Isaac loved his chicken tenders. We ended sharing a bread pudding which was a great finish to our lunch. The only issue I found is that water out of the soda machine needs Help!! Its been that way for 3 restsurant changes..bla... have a beer instead..

I've been at Nashville Hot Chicken a couple of times. The chicken sandwiches are really good with a variety of heat that can be applied. A word of caution, "spicy" chicken sandwiches at some of the local fast food restaurants are at the low end of their scale. I generally go for a middle of the road sandwich and am happy with it. I generally don't like anything hotter than habaneros. The sandwiches pair well with sweet tea and fries. The staff was friendly and professional, the food served fast, and was tasty. Definitely recommend.
