Overview: By far, for me, Dukes is my number one beer of choice. I have been coming to this brewery off and on for years. The staff is the best. The people who come to brink a few beers are very down to earth. Live music-worthy amount of beer selection makes for a good evening. What to know: There is a food vendor on site—your basic foods. You have your typical on-tap beers that I call Bold City's signature beers. You can get wine and some other options to drink. They have outside seating, inside the brewery seating equipped with a bar, and a small closed-door seating bar section. This is where you will find the bathrooms and games. Pet friendly, and I see kids running about learning what a great brewery atmosphere must be like. It is in the riverside area; it's all good....right? Parking is not so bad. You can park just across the street if need be. When there are special events, it can get a bit crazy, but most of the time, it's all just sitting back and enjoying the evening. Cheers....

This place had a cool set up. They had a tap rolm amd warehouse. I csnt remember what day we were there but they were just about to start trivia that evening. They had some food specials and menu items. The food was good. Prices semed a bit high. A 10oz stronger beer was $10. Most of the beers were cheaper. They had a decent selection but really i stayed for only one drink due to the prices. typically I have 2-3

I don't say this lightly... but Mateo's inside of bold city brewery has hands down the BEST burgers we have had in jax. Since finding it a few weeks ago we have went at least four times just for these incredible burgers. My husband said it's as close as he has found to his beloved in and out burgers from Cali haha. We are so grateful to have such a great place so close to home and we will be back an absurd amount of times this year I'm sure!

Some of my favorite burgers in Jax. Excellent bar food. Friendly servers that are appropriately staffed for good service. Efficient, straightforward, welcoming, Riverside edge. $2 beers on Tuesday and $4 all week! Duval light and the bold city IPA are all I ever need. This is my local, and I'm happy to say so. Love this place.

A few friends and I came here for the first time for trivia (Wednesdays at 7pm) and it was a fun time! The brewery itself is pretty much a warehouse and there's no A/C, just big fans that circulate air to help. The food here is good, better than the typical brewery options. The burgers were super tasty and the loaded fries were amazingggg. The garlic Parmesan fries were okay and the funnel fries I would not order again because it was pretty burnt. Regarding beer selection, they have some IPAs, one seltzer, no sours.

My husband and I no doubt come here way too often because the vibes are good and the food is even better plus the beer!! Love my Duke's Cold Nose Brown Ale! we also enjoy their smash burgers and I wanted to try something different so I ordered the Bold City Burger, I asked for a single but they ended up giving me a double which is fine because I ended up eating the whole entire thing haha. The bartenders are always nice and friendly and we always enjoy coming up here at the last minute. Service was great as always. And I enjoy the ambiance and atmosphere this place gives. I started coming here for bingo nights on Thursdays before I met my husband and started bringing him and his family here.

This is the coolest brewery in jax! Live music, food specials, bingo nights, and you can bring your dog! The staff is always in a good mood and everyone is just kinda nice to each other.

Fun, cool, hip, laid back place to grab some grub and drink some beers. They have activities too!! The staff is hip and helpful too! Parking is a non issue Menu has all sorts of goodies No cider but they have mimosas and wine for the non beer drinkers. Check them out and have a beer or maybe 2!

We usually stop by here before a Jags game; we've been here several times. It's usually busy, but service and drinks are good. I'm not a beer drinker, but hubby liked the ones he got. I enjoy sitting upstairs on the top deck. The food is just ok.

This one of my favorite breweries with food. They host weekly events like trivia, name that tune, bingo, brunch, ect. Their beers are priced fair for craft beer. Mateos is inside the brewery and their food is AMAZING. Their burgers are smash style and delicious. Their fries are perfectly seasoned and crisp. My husband loves the Pizza. Tuesday's is Taco Tuesday (2 Tacos, chips and salsa $10). They have other food specials throughout the week. You can choose to sit inside our in the brewery ware house. The inside is small and intimate. The ware house is bigger and where we usually like to sit, but is subject to the elements (hot/cold days). If you haven't check them out!

I'm not sure why it took us so long to visit Bold City Brewery. We've been enjoying their brews at home and around several Jax establishments for some time now. We finally made it to the brewery and it did not disappoint! We loved it so much we planned a second visit weeks later. We already knew we liked their brews so it was nice to try others we hadn't had before. The red ale, both cream ales, hoppy blonde, cold nose and parcel service were all very good. The duke's nitro was at the top of my list for sure. A brewery with good food is top notch in my book. Bold City knows what's going on. Not only are their brews excellent, the food is impressive as well. We had chili cheese fries and burgers during both visits. The chili cheese fries were amazing! The fries themselves were so crispy and delicious. They then top those with NC style chili and two types of cheese - yes, please! Then you have the burgers which they execute perfectly. The smashburgers were so good. The smash sauce was delicious. Pickles and raw onions as toppings paired up very well. The sliders were just as good, the perfect size if you want a smaller version of their smashburger. The caprese burger I had during my first visit was to die for. The house made pesto was delicious. I also really loved the balsamic drizzle. Mozzarella and provolone make for a thick layer of cheese which was fantastic. It was one of the most delicious speciality burgers I've ever had. The service was great both times. The bartenders were helpful and the kitchen staff was super friendly. Keep up the great work Bold City!

The beer here is pretty amazing. Every beer I tried was a hit. I would definitely come back for the beer. The ambiance is a bit weird though. Not sure if it was just because it was bingo night, but there were some weird people at the brewery. Generally unfriendly and off putting. Service by the staff seemed efficient and they were friendly.

My wife and a group of friends go to Bold City in Riverside most Thursdays for Bingo...I know sounds boring, but they have drink and food specials that make it a great night all around. Plus, you have a chance to win money while doing so. I love all of the staff and shout out to Mateo's for providing great smash burgers consistently. highly recommend you check it out if you are looking for something to do on a Thursday night in Riverside. Also, I would like a chance to win your money! :)

One of our favorite breweries in Jacksonville! I always get the Duke of Whales (half Dukes/half Killer Whale)...the hubby gets a Red Dawg (half Dukes /half 1901). Didn't get food tonight, but Mateo's is amazing-burgers, brunch, apps-have never been disappointed!

They offer their most popular beers, like killer whale and duke, as well as a variety of other craft brews. There is a small food menu with apps, burgers, and cheese steaks.

I'm not much of a beer drinker, but I've also never been to Bold City Brewery just to check it out. I won an Instagram contest to attend a show featured two of my favorite Nickelodeon stars (from my generation) as they reminisce on their time working on a show called All That so beer or no beer, I was going. They offer other drinks there, even food, but unfortunately I couldn't partake in any as I was waiting for my intermittent fasting to end. My boyfriend had a Mimosa and a Killer Whale Ale which he really enjoyed. I was super jelly. I really enjoyed the old warehouse-y feel to the place as it doesn't pretend to be some fancy brewery. I could definitely see myself hanging out there again.

Very cool neighborhood brewery tucked away on the north end of Riverside. Plenty of parking around the building, fun and open atmosphere, plenty of weekly events, and great beer selection. They also have a small kitchen on site that serves great food. Recommend taco Tuesdays but there are good and well priced options throughout the week. Downside, there's usually only one cook so the wait times can be a bit long on busier nights (Th, Fr, and Sa) but at least there's plenty of beer!

My bf and I stopped in before the shrimp game last week. There were only about four other people inside, the bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable. I tried a great nitro red ale that was unlike anything I've had before! We sat in the cute window seat area, appreciated the cool photography that documents Jacksonville's history, then went on to get dinner nearby before the game. I wish I'd come here sooner! It's a low key place with great beer. We'll definitely be back!

Though not a beer drinker (I'm an oenophile) I've been wanting to visit Bold City Taproom. Attended their 10th year anniversary last year and enjoyed my first Bold City Beer. Finally tonight (Thursday) stopped by and ordered the sampler. There were 10 samples plus a Sierra Nevada type. Our host explained each one before tasting & suggested we start with the Killer Whale and end with the Roxy Imperial Seasonal Ale. My favorite was the last one Roxy ... must be cause it had the higher alcohol content....hmmm. I liked it so much that ordered a glass. It tasted awesome cold. Aside from the taproom they also had seating in the brewery a few steps away. Our host was extremely helpful when I told her it was my first time in the taproom. She answered all our questions. Pleasant surprise when she gave me a "I kicked a keg" glass & learned that they were changing the keg when I ordered my Roxy. Another surprise my Roxy was free as a 1st timer. Wow my lucky night. Finally, I found a local beer I like. I'm expanding my adult beverage horizon. I'll be back tomorrow with my 10th yr Bold City Anniversary growlers for more Roxy.

I follow them on Instagram but unfortunately never visited them. What a cool little place!! I walked in and instantly noted that it was a cool chill place. I didn't need to be someone or prove anything. Just live the moment enjoy the ambience and people. I met a cool dude with an interest in theater or as he said theatre! It felt very homey. I tried a couple of IPA's. Good choices. They have a beer whose proceeds all go to charity. How cool is that!! Well. I am likely to return here. Did they say $10 for a gallon??!!?!?!? Is That even doable!? You bet ya! New found digs. Only recommendation is higher alcohol content options.

Bold City is the closest place to a real CHEERS! Friendly, yummy food and the beer is the best. Jacksonville is fortunate to have Bold City! We take all our out of town company to the Brewery!

Not a great location for a taproom. Surrounded by railyards, parking in the grass and no zones. Entrance to taproom is a maze. Kids in the bar. Staff wandering around aimlessly. Eventually got served. On the flip side - outstanding beer - just buy it at the store.

Their food is off the charts amazing. Cajun fries, corn nuggets and great cheese pizza. Everyone is super friendly. The ac was broken and I seriously thought I was going to pass out with how hot it was in their little seating area. Part had been ordered to fix it so hopefully we can come back to visit one day. Not a huge selection of draft beers, but that may change on a regular basis.

This is a legit brewery. They have my favorite type of beer- rauchbier (if you never had it, you should try). Great service, small kitchen with great bites, awesome service!

When we first pulled up I will admit that I was questionable about BCB. But once you step inside the warehouse/brewing area it is such a cool vibe! There are outdoor tables and a little bar to sit at. The tasting room is tiny but super personable! Big John was working and he made our first visit very memorable! We got an impromptu tour and the Tour Guide was very passionate and informative. We started with the sampler and loved the 1901 Red Ale! The seasonal is an apricot wheat, which is fantastic!! The killer whale is a standard golden ale that is super refreshing. Duke's brown is also delicious and I love that it has the family dogs name and picture. We followed our sampler up with the apricot wheat pints. Also, found out about the Jax Ale Trail! It's a passport with 8 of the breweries in Jax and when you frequent one, you get a stamp for that location. Once the passport is full, you send it in for a free t-shirt! Love it! I always liked BCB beer but after seeing how personable big John and Tour Guide were, I am a proud supporter and purchaser of BCB!

Amazing beers at a great price. The music selection is a great mix of 80s and 90s. The bar staff are extremely friendly. What more can you ask for in a brewery.

Fun trivia night, bogo wine, friendly service, and a killer burger. The open-air area gets warm before sunset in the summer, but they do have a little air conditioned area too.

Went on Taco Tuesday. Carnitas tacos were comfort yum. Staff taking orders at bar took time to brief us on the options. Dude in the kitchen makes music and art with food. Our crew tried 4 different pours, all winners. Picnic tables in an old warehouse in view of the tanks. Train rumbles by. Make this place part of your wellness plan.

On my recent trip to Jacksonville, my visit to Bold City Brewery was absolutely one of my favorite parts! First of all, this is a bit off the beaten path (thanks for the heads up, Yelp). There's a parking lot, and the entrance is to the right when you pull in. I promise, it's there. When we entered the small (but big enough) bar area, we were greeted by... basically everyone!!! They found out we were first timers, and we were treated to samples of multiple beers. This was awesome! We quickly had the regulars chatting it up with us: welcoming us, telling us what's good, telling us about other breweries, and more! They were a fun group! I also really enjoyed the beers. I drank mostly lighter options, but they also had a mint chocolate chip stout, so I sampled that. If you go through to the larger brewing area (also with tables, chairs, etc.), you'll see La Bodega, a kitchen that serves food (during limited hours) at Bold City. We hadn't planned on eating dinner here, but after seeing someone else's sandwich, we were in. So, if you can eat there while drinking Bold City, I recommend it. The beer, the vibe, the company... I really enjoyed our visit, and I would recommend it to anyone (who drinks beer)!

I love this place because of great beer and super service! And snack and TV viewing are the icing. It's that simple!

Slowly checking out the Jacksonville brewery scene and Bold City is nearing the top of my list for a variety of reasons. Ryan approached us as we arrived and offered us a free flight since it was our first time at Bold City - um yes, and they say chivalry is dead. Ryan and the rest of the staff were all very sweet and helpful. The beers themselves were great, namely the stout, pumpkin ale, and bourbon aged mad manatee IPA stood out. We sadly did not go on the tour, but I will definitely be returning to experience it and try more beers. Amazing service, great beers, and more than reasonable prices - put this place at the top of your list!

We stopped in today after the CoRK Open Studios and was absolutely surprised with how much fun we had. We started with sampling some of the taps then taking a seat with our beers. Within moments, we were asked if we wanted to do a tour with some others which we gladly accepted. The tour guide was amazing, full of information, and had great stories. It really turned our whole experience upside down, and we left laughing and a few more beers in. This is a must-go place, and I suggest taking the tour!

Mateo's at Bold City food was excellent. Ordered cheeseburger quesdilla and chili cheese fries with bacon. Both very good. Plus they have our dog treats. Bold City Beer very good and consistent. Bartenders were friendly, attentive and we enjoyed talking with them.

Eclectic and fun on the inside. Super great prices !! Large variety of fresh brews. I had water (nothing gluten free) and my son enjoyed a few beers. The bartender was super welcoming and friendly!

We have been huge fans of Bold City Brewery since they opened years ago on Roselle Street. To be honest, as residents of Riverside, we were hesitant about a brewery so close to home, but they've been the best of neighbors. Not only do they put out an incredible product, they have a great facility. The taproom was originally just a small room, but with popularity, it expanded. Now you have the original room, small and intimate, and then the larger area facing the actual brewery. They are open Thursday through Saturday. Saturdays they have free tours. Check their website and sign up for their email newsletter to make sure you keep abreast of all the happenings here.

Wow. What a spot. Free flight for first timers? Done and done. The beers from Bold City make it all over Florida and some make it all over the nation. Honestly my favorites were the Bourbon barrel aged IPA and the Witbier, but I'm always partial to IPAs. The room with the bar is pretty small but they have a garage/open area that is closer to their machinery that is very open. Top it all off with an in house taco spot and what more could you ask for? Definitely make it here soon if you can! Pros: Beer Flights Ambiance - hella laid back TVs Tacos/Fries Did I mention the games? Cons: Wish it was bigger! Need to come back in the summer

Solid beer selection. Excellent music on the speakers. A bit on the smaller side compared to some other breweries. I tried to the brown ale which was quite drinkable. I was in need a small afternoon snack so I opted for the pimento cheese and crackers which were delicious. There is an associated kitchen independently owned in the same building (with a solid vegetarian menu). Definitely a must go to on the Jax Ale Trail.

I've been a loyal customer since the beginning. Great place to watch the Jaguars on Sunday.

We had an event at Bold City, a fundraiser for the Jacksonville Zoo & Bold City was great! Very helpful, accommodating and just an amazing staff! I am not a beer drinker, at all- but I did enjoy my glass of Moscato! Hubby enjoyed the Brown Ale- it's his fav from them. They made sure to offer a few tours of the brewery as well to our crowd! I highly recommend their tasting room if you are on that side of town!

There is more flavor in a Topo-Chico Mineral Water than this beer. Good service and kind staff, just not the beer I want to drink.

Awesome place, even though this is the distribution side of the brewery, this place has all the fun! Really welcoming place and the staff rocks! Beer is solid and refreshing on a hot day like today, looks like they have food on site and it's literally feet away. Parking is limited but def worth the trip, will 100% be returning!

I came here for an event that was in the middle of this street right in front of the Brewery. All of the businesses were all participating in the event. I am not able to consume beer. I like beer, but beer does not like me. They were bringing out some of their new beers for everyone to enjoy and taste. I like the fact that you can buy and take home the beer in the glass bottles and return to reuse or trade for the same size bottle for a refill to take back home. Job well done.

Now this is a brew house! Forget all the rest and move on over and really enjoy your drink without the pretense....SALUTE' I Like this please, The Look the feel and Mostly real people.

Laid back and fun environment. Great beer with many to choose from. They also have good food and saw a great band there. Highly recommend.

I've been to Bold City on numerous occasions and would have more visits logged if the tap room was open more often. I don't live in the neighborhood so it's an event for me to stop by. I have to say that this is probably the friendliest bar I've ever been too. Judging by the 'usual' crowd, this place is extremely popular with the locals. It's no wonder: the beer is great, the prices are more than reasonable ($3.50 pints available ) and the brewery tours are free. They have an on site eatery and I see young kids running around and dogs on leashes and they only serve their own beer but they do have wine and soft drinks available. This is a great place to just hang out.
