"Despite its somewhat small size, this is one of the most interesting eating options in the popular and traditional Malasaña district in the centre of Madrid. This efficient family-run restaurant, which has half a century of experience cooking well-prepared and seasonally inspired traditional dishes, has adapted aesthetically to modern tastes. Although the à la carte is extensive, we highly recommend one of Bolívar’s set menus which showcase the nuances of each dish and include a wine pairing option for each course. The homemade prawn croquettes are a particular speciality." - Michelin Inspector

This is a Michelin Bib restaurant. We have tasting menu with wine sampling. Every dish is nicely created and it's tastily delicious. Price is very reasonable when wine are included. Youngest kid had a simple grill fish and chip while we enjoys the tasting menu. Highly recommended.

The food felt very home and was delicious for what the price was. Don't expect anything complex though. The menu was interesting, but the waiters did not give any introduction about what was in the plate half of the time

Fantastic place to spend the first night of our honeymoon. Each course was delicious, and I left the evening feeling like I had just gone on a culinary expedition through Spain. I didn’t get a chance to do so yesterday, but I thank the staff and chef for such a special evening.

This is one of the best restaurants in the area. I have celebrated my PhD defence here with the committee members and my professors and we have enjoyed it a lot. As can be seen from the attached photos, they serve various small portions before they bring the main dish. The service is very professional and they will do their best to make your day.

The original menu was alright but the truffle menu was not good. And I didn’t think it was worth to eat lots of chips in these kinds of restaurant, the octopuses was also salty.

Very good tasting menu "back to school" with a variety of dishes. Drinks are additional so with a bottle of wine, it worked out to about €40 per person. Service was good, although there was too much time between each course, so dinner turned into 2 over hours, not necessarily bad as it allows for plenty of conversation, but helpful to know. Very quiet ambience, so the perfect place to catch up with friends over dinner.

Food was excellent! Every delicacy tastes good and special. Even the basic part, the bread, taste better compare to most of fine restaurants I’ve been to. Further more, the waitress (probably the host), she was nice to every guests and was enthusiastic. My mom was feeling unwell and had a headache at the time we dine due to the long distance travel. The waitress offered warm water and did her best to attend her and make her feel better. That’s appreciated!

Good overall but not worth the price.. The food is overall better than the average spanish diner but hardly the level of a Michelin listed restaurant (not talking about a starred one..) First dish (sardina with guacamole) was good and well balanced. A main was a ceviche, with too little fish and too much olive on it. The other main was a very good piece of meet topped with fois gras, but the fries and apple compote were here just like strangers in the plate.. Dessert was a "reworked " tatin apple pie , but with a not-so-good crust and just apple slices on it..

Yelp
Delicious tasting menu, 45€ including wine pairings. Service was very gracious. It was quiet on a Tuesday evening.

Yelp
I want to preface this review by saying this place is incredible value for your money. If you're considering a nice restaurant at a fair price, come here. I was surprised that it wasn't full when I was here! To skimp on the details of each course I will simply summarizes it by saying that this 7 course meals only had one dish I would remove, and very few that I would adjust. Again, price per dollar, this is a great deal. My only true complaint is that I got truffle fatigue by the 5th course. For most people, they more truffles the better, I'm a bit more sensitive to them. Also a red wine pairing with the cod was a bit off, though it was very low tannin, I would opt for a white instead. If this was an $80 meal I would give it 4 stars, alas it is half of that. Absolutely worth the price, absolutely worthy of 5 stars.
