The Best Restaurants in Houston’s Garden Oaks and Oak Forest | Eater Houston

"This popular pizzeria brings its wood-fired Neapolitan-style pies to the Stomping Yards in Garden Oaks. Pizzas come in a number of varieties, like shrimp scampi, Margherita, and 44 Farms beef. Enjoy a slice while soaking up the sun in the family-friendly green space, before wandering over for a scoop of ice cream at Fat Cat." - Brianna Griff

Great pizza. The arugula pizza was delicious and the truffle oil finish was fantastic. Caprese salad had thick slices of mozzarella and the basil was super fresh. Very easy to order at kiosk to take to go or you can enjoy the outdoor seating.

There is not enough crust on this pizza. For a $24, two ingredient pizza, there should be a little bit more crust under the cheese. The flavor is average. Didn’t really know what to expect but it turned out to be kiosk order type of set up. Either you sit outside or you take it with you because there are no tables inside. They don’t offer free water. They don’t have any ice. It’s a good It was cool outside, so my Coke bottle didn’t warm up too fast. So essentially, you order, you go get it, you clean up after yourself. But of course there’s that ever present tip screen when you order and before you get your food. So I guess tipping just doesn’t mean the same thing these days. We’re tipping for people just doing their job. We’re tipping to help the owner of the establishment avoid properly paying their workers.

This is a pretty good pizza spot! The ingredients are fresh, and you can order the pizza to your liking. Parking is on the backside of the restaurant (technically, the front is facing the green space in the middle of the complex), but they do have the rear entrance open for accessibility. There are kiosks for you to order at, and they bring your pizza to you while you sit outside. There are accessible tables, in addition to a green space that kids were running around in.

Disrespectful and Overrated Bollo Pizza is a perfect example of a restaurant trying to “reinvent” food that doesn’t belong to them — and failing miserably at it. They take flavors and dishes that clearly come from Mediterranean and Middle Eastern traditions and strip them of all authenticity, turning them into some trendy imitation for Instagram. The pizza and so-called “flatbreads” taste nothing like what they’re pretending to be inspired by. It’s bland, overpriced, and feels like a parody of real food cultures. If you’ve ever had the genuine version of what they’re copying, this place will just make you upset. Houston has plenty of family-run spots that do this kind of food with pride and respect — Bollo Pizza isn’t one of them.

Really good woodfired pizza! They have several options including gluten free and vegan. Ordering is done easily through a kiosk and there are plenty of seating areas outside.

Pizza and food was delicious. Only 4 stars because they ask for a tip but you have to order yourself and pick up the food when they call your name. They need to take out the tip question at the time of check out. Other than that, great location. Taste was fantastic.

Very nice workers and convenient location. Has great potential. I particularly like how you can get a gluten free option of any pizza at any time. I ordered the Arugulo pizza and the flavors were great. However, the gluten free dough needs work as it is way too hard to chew and progressively gets more solid as the pizza cools. With an adjustment in the gluten free dough formulation, they could have a massive improvement in their offerings.

DO NOT ORDER via UBER EATS! When I tried to cancel my order they lied to Uber Eats and cost $$. They instructed me to cancel through the app, when I called Uber Eats they spoke to Bollo and they blatantly lied, stating that they never said that. It’s unfortunate that this restaurants lacks integrity.
