The staff here are friendly, but regretfully, I don't find the food delicious. Their curries were pre-made and had been sitting in the pots for quite some time. Granted, all Indian restaurants prep their food in some ways. Most places prepare the base sauce and combine it with the ingredients before serving it to the customers. This way, the food can be prepared quickly and cost-effectively without compromising freshness and taste. The two curries I had were served from the pots and tasted like they had been kept warm in the pots for a long time. The chicken chunks I had were dry and tasteless. The curry had multiple tones, but they didn't come together harmoniously. Also, one of the dishes tasted bland and lacked the intensity that the dish needed.
So I ordered raita, thinking the acidic and dairy flavor would supplement the bland curry. Usually, the raita tones down an intense curry; however, in this case, I used it to elevate the bland curry. However, it didn't work because the raita was too diluted and tasted flat.
The biggest disappointment is the naan. While I wasn't looking for a great-tasting naan, I still expected a warm, fluffy naan made fresh from a tandoori oven. Instead, I was given what seemed to be reheated pre-made naan. The naan was dry, tough, and not warm.
I wanted to like this place, with its location and friendly staff. But regretfully, the food just didn't cut it for me. I hope that this review is constructive.
