Google
The breakfast sandwich rests amazingly good. The Lattes on the other hand is on the light side. It has a taste of dates, which is quite interesting. Small but clean and quiet cafe shop. Friendly servers.

Google
Been going for years. Not sure why I haven’t reviewed. Fantastic espresso drinks. Love the tonics. Black sesame seasonal drink is so good because it’s not too sweet like most places that make these syrup drinks. Food is also an incredible standout. They actually have real cooks in the kitchen.

Google
Beautiful shop with delicious food and coffee. Service was quick and baristas were so kind and friendly!!

Google
Small cafe. I love these windows all these stores have. It is great for a nice day to sit inside and still get fresh air. They also have seating outside. For dairy free or vegan options they only had oat milk. Not the best coffee I’ve had in town. But it’s not bad. Severely overpriced for average.

Google
Their Coffee has a really nice flavor, a bit less intense and more smooth than Blue Bottle coffee. Also better than Starbucks. Get the mocha, it rocks (has 2 shots of espresso). A place for serious coffee lovers. They sell fair trade coffee beans as well. 3 locations in Providence. Local business owner. Great staff. Came for their breakfast sandwich on a brioche and asked for gluten free bread option and they had it for a buck more. Added the pork belly for 3 bucks more and whoa it’s my go to breakfast sammy now. Gluten bread is usually the texture of cardboard but this sandwich was perfection. 10 out of 10! They have free wifi and plenty of tables w outlets for work space mix up. Cool vibe overall. Their new rice bowls with chicken are bomb. 🔥

It was my first time trying bolt coffee. I got a 20oz mocha and matcha. Both had no flavor in it. The matcha especially was so disappointing because it was expensive and it tasted like milk. Im not sure if they’re using actual matcha or matcha flavoring but the cafe needs to make the matcha better. The mocha was also disappointing. I personally love mocha and it was horrible. It did not have a mocha taste as i could not taste the coffee or the chocolate in it. Very disappointing. Honestly this place is not worth the price due to the quality of the drinks. The nitro bar has better drinks than bolt. Im never coming to this place again.

I recently visited Bolt Coffee, and overall, it was a great experience. The food was really good, and on a chilly day, the warm bowl we ordered was just what we needed to help us feel cozy. However, I found the matcha to be a bit bland; it wasn’t bad, but it could use a little more flavor. If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend checking out Bolt Coffee. It’s a great cafe spot to hit up!

Google
Decent coffee here. I got a large drip/filtered coffee for $5 and I really liked the taste. I got some floral hints. It was their light roast from Peru. However, the consistency was very thin, similar to Dunkin’s thinness. Luckily, because of the taste, it was still palatable. Prices are pretty high here. A smaller size drip coffee is $4 and their lattes are $6+.

Yelp
Always a go-to in downtown! The breakfast sandwich is delicious; I love the combination of a the light, fluffy egg with the roasted onions and tomato jam. The flavors are balanced really well, and it's super filling! The chai isn't my favorite in town, but it gets the job done! The staff here are always so nice and welcoming, which I always appreciate. It gets very busy, especially on weekends. The wait is never too long, but it does get a little loud if you're trying to work/study/read!

Yelp
I haven't been since the ordering counter was on the other side - however long that's been. But I went in today on my way out of an interview for an ice coffee and decided to get the egg Sammy as well cause it's been a while and I was hungry. It did not disappoint - as expected. The egg is light and fluffy and the brioche bun is great (and I normally don't like brioche buns) Plenty of bench seating and lots of windows so there's excellent natural light. The employees were friendly, communicate well (it's silly but I appreciate being told my ice coffee will take a second because someone is refilling ice) and listened perfectly when they asked if I needed room for cream and I hesitated and said "yes - but really no. Pretend I said no, cause that's how little room I need" I'm not downtown enough to make this a regular treat - but love it as a special treat - probably so does my wallet,

Yelp
Solid downtown coffee shop! Friendly staff, great clean vibe and ambience, solid coffee (for an Americano). Excellent pumpkin donut! Would stop again if in the area.

Yelp
Bolt Coffee has multiple locations in Providence. I've been to their Downtown location - 61 Washington Street, Providence, RI 02903 - a few times now. I like how they always have specials and sells knead donuts. The first time I went to Bolt Coffee, I had their matcha latte and knead donut. Most recently, I had their October special: Pumpkin Pie Latte. It is made with house espresso, steamed milk, and sweetened with house-made Pumpkin Spice Syrup. Their drinks are always so good. There are tables inside and outside. It is very cozy inside and I spent a few hours here with a friend. It was easy to order at the counter and service was quick.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop in downtown Providence. Service is pretty fast and they have a great selection of coffee and food. I'm a little annoyed that they put ice in the Nitro Cold Brew. The ice disrupts the point of nitrogen and the smooth velvety taste and texture is lost. Not sure why coffee shops choose to do this when the "nitro cold brew" is already cold. I would have order an iced coffee if that's what I wanted.

Yelp
We love Bolt. The cappuccinos are amazing and all of the treats, oh so good. Service is flawless. The overall vibe is perfection. We love Bolt for our coffee bliss.

Yelp
Awesome cappuccino! Pair that with nice and warm croissant, and it's heaven in morning.

Yelp
My go-to spot for caffeine when I'm downtown, I'm a huge fan of their matcha drinks, especially the komorebi (matcha + honey + grapefruit juice + citrus) which wakes me right up with its heavy matcha dose and strong citrus notes. This branch always has a great selection of Knead doughnuts too and is the pick-up spot for Big Feeling ice cream, which always has a fun line-up of seasonal flavors. Parking is super tricky around this area though.

Yelp
I ordered the Woodsman with extra maple syrup. Was still overly strong coffee. I asked for a matcha in replacement of the woodmans coffee because I was unsatisfied with the after taste of coffee. They wouldn't replace my coffee. Service was poor.

Yelp
I already miss you Bolt coffee. Besides the best coffee I had on the east coast I felt right at home when I saw how diverse and Queer friendly your community board was. I decided to grab two bags of coffee to take home and intended to gift both but ended up keeping one for myself. We found ourselves here both days we were in town for the familiarity of our local coffee shops back home in Ca where you always get a steller cup of coffee some friendly faces and the local T. Thank you for a gorgeous cup.

Yelp
4.4/4.5 out of 5. We had a quick stop-in on a Saturday morning to grab breakfast on our way to Block Island. All of the coffee is roasted locally and my friend, who has lived in Providence for years, swears by their matcha drinks - specifically the way they are made by this one barista at the Bolt Washington St. location. :D I will say, I think the coffee here is probably the best I had in PVD, and I tried one of their fun seasonal donuts - the "Ginger Peach Old Fashioned" (yum!). The vibes here are just a little bit more hipster and less friendly. Small-ish place but cleanly and cutely decorated. Support local businesses and definitely check out your closest Bolt though!

Yelp
Quick service. Ambiance is dark, moody, nice place to relax. For food I got the woodsman which was really sweet. Macchiato was nice. Knead donut had a lot of icing. They also let you use your personal mugs
google avatar

Rose Q.

Yelp
It's a cute little place to have coffee and pastries to go or sit down inside or outside have a relaxing time. Their pastries sold out pretty fast, if you want it you need to be there very early. It's standard service, and the wait for coffee is not too long. There are a few house special lattes people adore. But for me, I'm all about the pastries. It's great to have a lovely local cafe in the city! Something unrelated to the food or drink, I love their plants collection a lot.

Yelp
Small cozy coffee shop. Good for a place to study or relax for a bit. Wish there was more choice of coffee but it's a very simple and basic place. You pretty much make your own coffee adding your choice of milk/cream and sugar. The staff weren't very informative with their options. If I'm being honest I probably wouldn't go back.

Yelp
I live two blocks away from this place and have been coming for years. I buy a bag of coffee beans, and the pork breakfast sandwiches multiple times a month. I introduce friends to this place. Needless to say, I'm a good customer and bring them a fair amount of business. Today, my girlfriend and I decided to swing by for our usual. We asked if they were still serving the breakfast sandwiches as it was noon, and the man behind the counter answered our question a bit curtly with "you have 4 minutes." We ignored the attitude and my girlfriend asked if the pork sandwich was similar to the pork belly breakfast sandwich. He laughed as if we were stupid, and again curtly just said "no." Slightly annoyed, I let it go and remained kind trying to neutralize the situation. We placed our order, and sat down outside to wait. 15 minutes later we discovered the guy had forgotten to put in my girlfriend's sandwich order. When addressed about the mistake, the man informed her she didn't order it (I was right there, she did), and that he repeated our entire order back to us (he did not read back the entire order). And he delivered this information very curtly and mater of factly, following his prior bad attitude, which really rubbed the situation in when he let us know the kitchen was then closed. I've worked in hospitality. One bad hire can ruin a place. This guy was just plain rude from the start, arrogant, and unpleasant for no reason. He messed up our order, cost us our lunch, and even then was even ruder and unapologetic. Even if it was our fault, which I firmly believe it was not, a bit of sympathy and kindness goes a long way. What a terrible temperament for a position based on service. Disappointed.

Yelp
This coffee shop is in such a convenient location. After checking out of The Graduate we were heading back to the parking garage and this shop was perfectly placed on our path to the car. I tried the Nitro coffee and my girlfriends had the ice coffee. The coffee definitely has a bold flavor that got mixed reviews from the girls - loved it and others weren't thrilled. For food we all got "The Breakfast Sandwich" and it was BOMB!! Melty cheese, grilled onions and tomato jam like woah! The sandwich gets 5 stars for sure. Prices aren't too bad either considering it feels and tastes artisan. There are little tables outside you can sit and eat at. Definitely a good spot to fuel you up in the am.

Yelp
Both my espresso drink and my wife's iced coffee were highly/overly acidic and practically undrinkable. My drink was practically clear, it was so light and lacked the robust flavor one would expect from espresso. I really hate to say this, but I'd prefer Dunks to this, and I cant stand Dunks. I have to say, though, that the breakfast sandwich was off the charts tasty (hence the two stars). The eggs were fluffy, as opposed to most bfast sandwiches, and the balance of the fatty pork belly to the pleasantly acidic tomato jam was incredible. And who doesn't love brioche?

Yelp
How Bolt can be given less than 5 stars is beyond me. While there are a few top tier coffee shops in the city Bolt sits atop the list. Main emphasis for me is on espresso beverages. They crush em here. The standards (lattes, caps) are always well drawn and mixed (hooray micro-bubbled milk froth), and their milk-espresso ratios seem on point for all sizes, allowing the flavors of the coffee to spread and shine. For flavored/uncommon drinks I couldn't recommend their espresso tonic enough. Garnished with a candied citrus slice nothing beats it on a warm or sunny day. This drink alone would always keep me coming back; not many places make it, and those that do never seem to do it quite as well as Bolt. For other beverages, my fiancée has always spoken very highly of the matcha drinks and chai. One big selling point she has mentioned is that their chai seems much less sweetened than most other places. All in all, for espresso drinks in PVD, bolt is my place and should be yours too. Their keep it simple approach shines through the quality of their beverages. Go here.

Yelp
Oops I should of taken a pic before I ate it! Hands down best breakfast sandwich ever! Brioche bun, soft scrambled eggs (like pillowy soft!) Tomato jam, roasted onion! Yup..amazing I'll be back, also great service and very nice

Yelp
Service was good but the food not so much. I was a little more expensive than I thought it would be but overall I give it a 3.5 out of five

Yelp
Finally checked out Bolt for the first time since moving to Providence a couple years ago (super late to the party, I know) for the RI Food Fights Iced Coffee Challenge! Firstly, they did nitro cold brew for their entry, unlike most places where the coupon is just good for hot-brewed-then-iced coffee. Extra points! The nitro was great (smoooooth), but the food is what really defied expectations! I got the pork sandwich, which was stuffed with pickled onions (YUM) and other goodies, and my girlfriend got a chicken rice bowl that she loved. We had one issue with needing spicy mayo on the side and the person who brought it out was SO understanding about everything. I hate being the customer that has special requests and stuff but it was a very chill interaction and we just talked about stoner metal amps and stuff while we worked it out. Gotta hand it to everyone at Bolt today: super comfy, friendly vibes, great fuckin food, stellar coffee. A perfect lunch break treat in the middle of my work day. Appreciate you all. We'll be back!!!

Yelp
I was walking buy this morning 1/10/23. I had a bit of time to kill so figured I'd try it out. Ugh. I ordered a large nitro cold brew. They put ice in my nitro brew. No other places to do. Nitro brew is already cold! But whatever. I took a taste and I hate to use a cliche and I'm not exaggerating.. it was quite possibly the worse cup of coffee I ever had. I figured maybe if they sweetened it up? So they put in some sugar syrup. Oh dear god! Even that didn't help. And to think I paid $7!!!! I guess I could have asked for something else but I always feel weird doing that. So I left taking the drink with me but tossed it out! What a waste of my time and money!!

Yelp
The food at bolt is amazing! Especially the egg sandwich. It is really to die for. That is definitely my fiancé and my go to order when we go there. They also make a solid cappuccino which pairs perfectly.

Yelp
Let my mom come in after hours and get a coffe for free bolt coffe employees are really considerate and friendly I would definently recommend this cafe.

Yelp
JB & FO D. nailed it when they said: "highly/overly acidic and practically undrinkable" & "Coffee tasted awful.". I had tried them 2 years ago and thought: That must have been a fluke, no one seriously sells coffee THAT bitter, It must be better by now. Nope, at least I can now say they are consistent. Service was polite, friendly, and quick

Azri C.

Yelp
I'm in Providence for a trade show, was recommended Bolt by the Hotel, went on Thursday, walked in and got a coffee and croissant and left it was good, came back the next morning and when I got to the counter to order, the staff member (all staff were wearing masks, everyone's personal choice) ask me to put on a mask while ordering, this did not happen the day before. The fact that no patron in the shop were wearing masks and that i had to order with a mask, then could remove it and drink my coffee standing in the exact same spot, says to me they don't understand the science, ironically on the same day Congress voted to do away with masks on airlines. It seems crazy to me as a business owner to alienate customers on a policy that will not prevent what it's "supposed " to prevent ????

Yelp
Stopped here prior to taking a bus tour and OMG the egg sandwich was the best I've ever had in my life...what? Arugula yes complimented the eggs so well and what ever sauce/jam wow. Pork sandwich was good to but crown goes to the egg sandwich please stop by to visit this place!

Susanna K.

Yelp
This spot is slap city Great coffee great employees Best coffee in downtown Providence no question

Parm T.

Yelp
Honestly the food and coffee here is amazing but the people working here are truly wonderful. The breakfast sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. I just wanted to share a note to express how amazing the team is here. We stopped by on our way to NYC from cape cod. I accidentally left my wallet at the coffee table and didn't realize till I was over 3 hours away. I am from Canada visiting my friend. And Without my drivers license, proof of vaccination card and visa (key things in my bag), it would be extremely difficult to get back to coffee shop and even home to Canada. The team at Bolt went above and beyond to help me in this situation. Casey, who was my main contact over the phone, offered to go out of his way to courier my bag. I was so nervous/stressed and he even helped calm me down. I am beyond grateful and extremely thankful. I will never forgot the kindness! Thank you Casey + the bolt team!
google avatar

Fo D.

Yelp
Stopped into Bolt while in Providence. Shop was clean, service was polite and quick. Ordered up simple iced coffees, nothing fancy. Coffees tasted awful. I'm no coffee snob, but these were undrinkable. For the cost of coffee here, I expected something amazing, something full of flavor. Would have been better off going to a large chain coffee place.

Yelp
Great coffee served by great people! Highly recommend! Baristas helped me navigate coffee origins and I now regularly buy bags (and a great latte) from them!

Phillip L.

Yelp
Super friendly service with a smile and good coffee & tea drinks. We tried a doughnut which was terrific and the breakfast sandwiches looked/smelled amazing. Several seating options indoors and outdoors.
