Sooki & Mimi Starts Take Out at Ann Kim’s New Uptown Restaurant - Eater Twin Cities

"Kingfield’s hotspot, Boludo is expanding with a second location, serving the same empanadas and pizza that caused a sensation when it opened. The cheese-stuffed darlings arrive at the edge of downtown Minneapolis inside the former McKinney Roe location. Owner Facundo Defraia expects to open sometime next week. If all goes well, expanded hours, online ordering, and menu options are expected. Boludo began when Defraia was working alongside his longtime friend Daniel del Prado at del Prado’s first restaurant, Martina. On that menu were Defraia’s empanadas, a recipe he brought with him from Buenos Aires that caused a stir. People couldn’t get enough of the thin dough wrapped around savory fillings. Almost from the moment he opened Boludo, a tiny shop on Nicollet, lines formed, and they haven’t really let up since." - Joy Summers

New Empanada Shop Opens Friday on Nicollet - Eater Twin Cities

"Facundo De Fraia, the empanada mastermind has now partnered with Teddy Kordonowy, who comes from working at Lowry Hill Meats to open the shop. De Fraia moved to the Twin Cities from San Diego to help Daniel del Prado open Martina and create one of the break-out dishes on Martina’s opening menu. His empandas begin with a recipe he learned from his 94 year-old grandmother. The counter-service restaurant will serve five empandas and five pizzas with just twenty seats available in the wee spot. Beverage options will include beer, wine and one drink: Fernet and Coca-Cola." - Joy Summers

Google
I ordered the pepperoni pizza, churro donuts, sprite bottle. All delicious. Tomato sauce was sweet. I like the way they sprinkle the fancy shredded cheese on the crust. The donuts with the dulce con leche was spot on. They asked to seat yourselves to a table and go up front when you ready to order and pay up. You can pick your own utensils, napkins and free water and buss your own dishes when your are done. Also have to go boxes in case you don’t finish your meal. Will have to come back for the empanadas.

Google
Always delicious 🤤 Our usual consists of the Pepperoni Pizza paired with Mexican Cokes, and a few Messi Empanadas! It’s like our family rule, if we’re going to Boludo we’re getting all of the things!! I was late on the pics - there was no time to waste! 😆 Get all the things, you won’t be disappointed.

Google
The food all looks amazing and based on all the pics I definitely wanted to come here. I was lucky there was no line because you have to order first then sit. I got the margarita pizza and empanadas. Unfortunately they were both very salty for my taste. The appearance and texture however are great. It’s good for a bite to eat. Another thing to point out… when you come into the establishment, it’s confusing because there is no signage telling you that you have to order first then sit. Also this makes the front door crowded and in case of an emergency it would be hard to leave quick.

Google
We just love their authentic flavorful Argentine empanadas, delicious pepperoni pizza and churros donuts! The portion was big and we ate them all in one sitting. It is has a pretty chill atmosphere with outdoor dining space and staff were friendly with prompt service. The price was reasonable too.

Google
The pepperoni pizza was pretty good, sauce was a but sweet for my liking but I'd still order it again. My mom got the Ceasar salad, it was huge! We definitely had leftovers of both. Heads up on the salad though, when they say spicy bread crumbs...they mean SPICY!

Google
I placed an order for a birthday party, I invited guests and thought it would have been a good idea. The order was paid and placed in the morning. When I drove to pick it up ( tracking said ready) the restaurant was closed with no notice. It would have been ok if I receive prior notice. No need to add anything else!

Google
Delicious food and beer! We went as a group of 5 and got the campo and pepperoni pizzas, as well as the pollo and carne empanadas; all equally delicious. The empanada sauce was really good and was tasty on the pizza too. The churro donuts are a must try if you love a sweet treat! It was pretty slow when we got there so seating was plentiful, although you’ll need some extra time to find parking and walk to the place. It’s mostly a self serve, so you order at the front, get your own dishes, and clean your own table up. Overall, great food!

Google
Actually the best meal I have had in a long time!! The pizza was utterly amazing!! The ceaser salad was so crisp and delicious! Got to try the empanadas and they were yummy and reasonably priced. Everything had an excessive yet incredible amount of Parmesan! Made me want to order just a bowl of Parmesan it was too good! Also got churro donuts which were so delicious and topped off the whole meal!! 15/10 will be dreaming of this meal!

Yelp
We came in after the Vikings game to wait out the crowds. Luckily we got there early and we're able to get a table before the masses came in. They had a date night special which includes 2 empanadas, 1 pizza, 1 salad, and 1 dessert. I honestly think this was enough for 4 people. We chose: Empanadas: Carne and Espinaca Pizza: Pepperoni Salad: De La Casa Dessert: Churro Donuts All of it was delicious! I did think the churros were a little more dense than I would have liked, and the caramel dip was thick, but over all still pretty good. The salad was phenomenal. It was a large serving and very flavorful! I loved the set up. They had water, plates, utensils, and boxes to serve yourself, but still brought the food out to you and picked up empty plates. This is the perfect set up to me, as I drink lots of water and hate bothering the staff.

Yelp
Boludo is an interesting spot Downtown - it seems to be in a space that doesn't really quite suit it, and the counter service aspect makes them truly apparent given everything else inside. The pizza was decent albeit a bit of a letdown for something I'd been looking forward to trying for awhile. The Campo was earthy, but a little too undercooked on this visit. The Messi empanada was way overpriced, especially considering it was more of a fancy hot pocket with a spice-filled dipping oil. This is a borderline 2-star review, which is quite below the usual for me, but unfortunately the food, the service, and the setting itself all left quite a bit to be desired.
google avatar

David K.

Yelp
FUCK NO! $70 for dinner before the tip and they served our food on a paper plate! Absolutely NOT!
google avatar

Deebaa S.

Yelp
My fave pizza lives here. For me, their pizza beats Rosalia by a hair. The pera pizza slaps! Pears, Gorgonzola, dill, and pine nuts is a winning combo. The empanadas are equally amazing. I've had both the carne and puerro. Omg, so good! I also love their De La Casa salad. Something about the candied pecans set it off, again with the Gorgonzola, yum. They have an awesome special for $49. You can try all of that plus pick a dessert. You get an empanada each, a huge portion of salad to share, a pizza to share, and for us we chose the churro donuts which was also a very generous portion. Had to take them home. Add a glass of wine, it pairs so well. You order at the counter, simple service and nice sit down, spacious spot at their downtown Mpls location.

Yelp
My first visit to Boludo was a mixed experience. I didn't indulge in their most sought-after item, the pizza, but from an empanada perspective, I can't say I was entirely blown away. One of several marks that make an empanada spectacular is the filling-to-dough ratio. I'll seldom mention price as a factor because I enjoy paying for a good meal, regardless of what it is. However, quality and value are also important to me. I didn't feel that the quality of everything I ate made up for the value. I sampled the Messi, Pollo, and Carne. The pollo empanada was my absolute favorite as it definitely followed the empanada ratio-rule. Juicy, well-seasoned, and stuffed like a pillow, this chicken empanada was baked to a beautiful golden brown perfection, enjoyable from start to finish. The pastry dough was airy, crisp, and tender, with just the right thickness for the filling. I dipped this bite in their house-made Chimichurri sauce, which amplified the flavors of the chicken. I could've easily eaten several. 10/10, no notes. The Messi, Boludo's creation of a pizza empanada hybrid, was a bit messy. Because it's a fried empanada, the filling is steaming when you break into the empanada. The reggianito and mozzarella cheese filling ooze out, which may sound delicious, but along with a few slices of pepperoni, it's all the filling there is. So unfortunately, all of the filling fell on my plate, leaving me with empty empanada "husks" which I used to scoop up the filling. It was okay. I appreciate the attempt at an untraditional filling, but it wasn't a bite I'd necessarily suggest or order again. The carne empanada was the most disappointing of all. Stuffed with beef picadillo, ají molidos, and olives, this empanada crumbled at the first bite. Compared to the chicken empanada, which shares the same dough, there was a difference in taste solely in the dough. The dough of the beef empanada was chewy, dense, and very crumbly. The picadillo filling was abhorrently dry. It was an overall miss for me. Regarding the ambiance, I enjoyed my meal on their patio dining space while the sun was still toasty, which is an excellent option for people watching and enjoying views of the Twin Cities. This eatery is very casual. An option to consider if you're in the area and desire a quick, light bite. Offering counter-service only, you place your order, receive a number, and your food is brought to wherever you choose to sit. While there is no table service, drinks, cutlery, etc., may be brought to your table if you ask. The space indoors offers a few booths and tables for seating. There are lots of TVs inside playing different sports channels. Parking was challenging because there is only metered parking nearby, but Boludo is centrally located and also partners with a couple of food delivery services if you can't make it to them.

Yelp
I live very close to Boludo. Therefore, I keep coming back hopeful... but each time I feel like it is so messy inside. Cleanliness and organization do not feel like their priority. It's unfortunate because the food is pretty good.
google avatar

Michele M.

Yelp
I don't travel to a new place and NOT try their pizza. Being from Buffalo, of course I think we have the best. Boludo would fit in perfect here, the pizza was excellent, absolutely loved it. We tried two, the Pera, which was pear and gorgonzola and the burrata and hot honey pepperoni! Both were delicious and surprisingly the Pera was my favorite! The crust was cooked the way I like, the toppings were flavorful. Definitely would be my go to pizza stop in MN.
google avatar

Yelp
We ordered takeout from Boludo while staying overnight in Minneapolis. We ordered two pizzas and an empanada. The pizzas were DELICIOUS. We tried the Pepperoni and the Sarandara. They were huge portions, the dough was perfectly crispy (but not dry and crunchy) and the flavors paired perfectly. I was anxious to try an empanada, since that's originally what drew me to try Boludo. I tried the Jamon Y Queso empanada, and was pretty disappointed. It was filled with fairly bland cheese and minimal ham. It tasted no different than a ham and cheese hot pocket, and not in a good way. I had a bite and didn't finish the rest. I would still try another, though, as I love empanadas! Try the pizza for sure! It is DELICIOUS!
google avatar

Kirsten J.

Yelp
I absolutely love coming here for a quick dinner with friends or by myself. The pepperoni pizza and Caesar salad are delicious and my go tos! You order at the counter and they bring the food right to your table. It's super cute and cozy inside. It's a perfect spot for a post Vikings game snack.
google avatar

Jed M.

Yelp
Boludo uses a fast casual style of ordering at the counter and food will be delivered to your table. I would suggest previous reviews on this place don't accurately capture the vibe. Ambiance is casual and more rustic at this location vs classy, trendy, or intimate. We tried Boludo during the recent heatwave and their AC could not keep up- it was pretty warm and uncomfortable inside to dine in. Perhaps this also tainted my view on the atmosphere. We ordered and shared the Porteno pizza ($24). It was a unique take on a pizza- sweeter sauce, lighter and fluffier dough/crust, and diamond shaped. It was good but not sure it was worth the value/price for size of pizza and overall product.
google avatar

Richard A.

Yelp
Came here when I visited the city. It's not what I expected for pizza. I would call it more a flat bread. The sauce was very sweet. The bread was very thin and crispy. I ordered a salad and it was good, not great and they put it in a dish that made it fall off the serving plate. Metered parking on street. It's an order at register type of place.

David C.

Yelp
The salad and pizza were amazing. We went prior to a Vikings game when the local bar was packed and we couldn't get service. In and out as fast as we wanted. I still rave about the pizza.
google avatar

Saúl

Yelp
I loved the theme and location of the place. Having the chairs outside is a really good option specially in that busy and pretty area. Loved to see that it was Argentinians running the place. The pizza was good. The crust was crunchy and the shredded cheese they used on top was what made this pizza go to the next level. The only thing that could be better is the amount of cheese on the pizza, but this may have been done intentionally since it's a brick oven pizza. Other than that, totally worth it!
google avatar

Micah L.

Yelp
So this has been one of my favorite pizza spots the last few years. They have a few different locations and I've been to the one downtown mpls and over south mpls. I love both but my recent visit was the downtown one. It is street parking and it's by the US Bank stadium so I usually do pick up. I have eaten inside before and its fine, people working their are always friendly and the food comes out quick. There's nothing special about the inside to make me wanna eat there though. I grabbed a few pizzas, pepperoni is my favorite! They have great empanadas and their donuts are delicious with the caramel sauce. Never a bad experience for my favorite pizza in Minnesota.
google avatar

Jon A.

Yelp
We went there before the Vikings game and luckily got in and a table just before the rush. We had pizza, beer and a few shots. According to my daughter the shots were reasonably priced and I thought the beer was too. The pizzas came quickly and were really good. We had pepperoni and a prosciutto, cheese and arugulas pizza. Would definitely go again. Everybody knew their job and food arrived quickly.
google avatar

Tori S.

Yelp
Ordered a pepperoni pizza before a concert at the Armory. I was able to grab a table outside and enjoy the nice weather while also getting the opportunity to monitor the line to enter the venue. The pizza was delivered to my table and the server was great about getting me a box and checking in on me, even though I don't think their section was the patio. As for the pizza it was a great wood fire pizza crust. Plus really cheesy which is always a plus.
google avatar

Amanda G.

Yelp
I am still dreaming of their Caesar salad. It was the best salad I've ever had. The service was super quick and friendly. Great vibes inside and plenty of outdoor seating available as well.
google avatar

Ellie I.

Yelp
When we moved to Minneapolis, we had multiple people tell us to check out Boludo. Honestly, I'm mostly disappointed in how long it took me to go! I went solo, but should have brought a group so I could try more things! They had a small indoor seating area that was nicely air conditioned, and a great patio with a handful of tables. I ordered an empanada with corn and the Sarandara pizza. Honestly, I was expecting a personal-sized pizza and when it came out, I was blown away! The empanada was cheesy, crusty goodness -- you can tell from the picture! And the sauce that came with it was reallly good, lots of fresh herbs and a little spice. But the pizza -- omg. The melty cheese, the soft, chewy crust. It fed me for multiple meals and I was very happy about that. Order at the counter, service was fast and friendly. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Brionne S.

Yelp
My daughter and I had never been to Boludo and decided to have a lunch date. You seat yourself and place your order at the counter and the food is brought to you. The vibe was casual and energetic. We shared the Messi empanada and margherita pizza and thoroughly enjoyed everything. The pizza is thin crust, sauce was flavorful, cheese was plentiful and overall it was delicious. We will definitely go back!
google avatar

Raj D.

Yelp
I was with my son Brandon and my daughter Madison. Brandon and I are fairly adventurous. Madison... She is an all American kid and likes the classics... OK she loves Pepperoni and sausage. I yelped for pizza and found this place walking distance from my son's pad. Right near the Armory. It was amongst the best pizza I have had. In fact when I am near him, this is it homes. I'm getting this!
google avatar

Sandy A.

Yelp
The food and service here are amazing! The pizzas are one of kind and delicious! Also, the empanadas are so good. I've only gotten takeout from here, but hoping to dine in some time soon because I love the atmosphere of the restaurant.
google avatar

Elly P.

Yelp
Great place to stop by for a GREAT pizza. One we have " pera " has thin crust. With pear and Gorgonzola. You can smell the smokeybess from the fire. Even smells almost like smoke meat even though there's no meat in it. Must be the charred cheese. It's great. The salad is also amazing they gave you a tower of salad. Looks like a whole bag of salad went in there. And for the ensalada de casa, instead of croutons they have dehydrated raspberry. Genius! When you're here try the fernet with coke. Great combination It's pretty much self serve. But staffs are super friendly
google avatar

Bill H.

Yelp
I stumbled on this place with my brother-in-law before a Rammstein show at US Bank Stadium. Now I make it a point to stop in before shows or games at the stadium! Their pizza is delicious and so are their empanadas. If you're not a sauce person you may want to go straight to the pizza, but the empanadas are amazing if you make sure to dip them in the sauce they come with. Service here is fine, you go to the counter and then they bring your stuff to your table via a number system. Other than that it's kind of a bus yourself situation. The decoration inside is great and if it's a nice day you can also enjoy the street side patio. All in all the location is amazing design is cool and food is great!
google avatar

Morgan S.

Yelp
One of the coolest food combos in the area! We had a mix of their pizzas and empanadas and everything was delicious. Definitely recommend getting some of both and trying each as they all over delivered. One of the surprising winners was the Puerro empanada, definitely a top tier item on the menu so do not sleep on this one! For pizza it was the Peras pizza that really over delivered. The people there are really nice and helpful when deciding what to get and I love the vibe of the inside.
google avatar

Syd B.

Yelp
Literally the worst costumer service experience I've ever had. Waiter with long black hair argued with us when we tried to send back a pizza that had no sauce on it. She then leaned over to poke through the pizza with a knife to point out the sauce she thought was in there meanwhile getting her hair all up in my food. It took forever to get our food and everything came out one at a time. They forgot one of our pizzas. Absolutely horrible experience wouldn't recommend to anyone.
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
This was a very unique restaurant experience! We came right after the Vikings game, and despite it being located close to the stadium, we were seated within a few minutes. I had a carne empanada and my husband had a humita. We both really enjoyed them! We also got the campo pizza, and it was incredible. We loved the crust, it was so crispy and perfectly cooked. It had a scent of cinnamon, so I wonder if they add that to the crust. The sauce was fantastic, it looked like a simple blend of rich Marzano tomatoes. The self service model was interesting, we weren't expecting it. There wasn't really an explanation that it was self service, there was a line to the register but it would have been nice if they would've mentioned that when we were sat. I think it was a good idea though, because they had the food out fairly quickly with as busy as it was, and things were bussed from the table quickly, so I think they save time with the self service.
google avatar

Tony V.

Yelp
Came here on a Thursday for dinner and was pretty surprised about the layout. You walk in blocked by the front counter and half the building seemed closed off. Food was great! We ordered a Peras pizza, Campo pizza, and Cesar salad. The Cesar was very strong in the lemon flavor and the lettuce was fresh and crisp. Never had a pizza with pears on it before but it gave a nice sweet flavor to it. The Campo pizza looked unique but had a very similar flavor to a sausage pizza. The crust/bread of the pizzas tasted great ~ we usually leave the crusts of pizza but this time we ate it all! Service was a little lacking as it seems like you're serving yourself even though you're charged a service fee. You take the menu, choose your own seat, walk back up to order, and there's a sign that wants you to bus your own table after. 5/5 for food ~ minus one star for the other aspects. Still would recommend.
google avatar

Emile M.

Yelp
I usually don't leave yelp reviews unless something is amazing. In town from California for work and I'm highly upset I'm finding this place on my last day. The Cesar salad is one of the best things I've ever eaten. Hands down. The dressing is made with lemon and garlic with a spicy kick. I will be eating here again on every business trip. Can I please have the salad dressing recipe?
google avatar

Susie R.

Yelp
Good pizza! It was fun trying Argentinian style pizza, it's worth the try! :D I ordered the pepperoni and my friend ordered the sarandara. I honestly liked the sadandara more, arugula on pizza is bombbb! The empanadas were yummy as well but a bit small in my opinion. We eventually finished off with the churro donuts which were sooo good. I forgot to take a pic of it because we ate em up so fast lol. Honestly adding dulce de leche on any pastry makes it 10 outta 10! ;) Overall, the service and food was great. The downtown location is super pretty too. I haven't been to the other two but this one is my fav.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Boludo for quite some time now and I was... very underwhelmed. I figured based on menu prices and how elevated they show up online, that the restaurant experience would match --- it doesn't. When you enter the restaurant, it's RIGHT next to the kitchen, weird. Then, we were instructed to order at the counter, pick the table number we wanted to sit at, and then sit down. Also, half the restaurant is closed off -- it looks like it was an old bar that they very quickly shifted tables to make into a pizza shop. After ordering a pepperoni pizza, sarandara pizza, a ceasar salad, and 2 beers, we were prompted with an automatic 18% gratuity. Mind you, you have to get your own plates, napkins, silverware, boxes for leftover food, water, etc. I'm all for tipping based on service and quality of food (or if I was getting it delivered), but an automatic 18% gratuity before even trying the food/drinks, having to order from the counter, setting my own table, cleaning up my table, etc. it's just not a good way to keep customers coming back. In terms of the food, the ceasar salad was the best thing we had. Very lemon-y, crisp lettuce, and just the right amount of dressing. The pepperoni pizza was good, but the sarandara was bland -- it's basically glammed-up cheese bread. The crust on both the pizzas must have been sprinkled with salt or something because they were SO salty -- not in a good way. I also noticed the middle of the pizza was wet like the dough was soggy. It's almost like the pizza sauce has so much water in it that the dough can't hold it, so it causes it to get soggy. Overall, I'm glad we tried Boludo but I won't be back, nor will I recommend it to my friends/family.
google avatar

Ranae B.

Yelp
I've both dined in and had delivery from this place. The staff are very welcoming. The atmosphere is inviting and embodies the culture. The Peras is my favorite; as the pear and dill compliments each other. The pine nuts give it a nice crunch. With a variety of flavorful menu options, I will definitely be returning soon!
google avatar

Jack E.

Yelp
Loved the pepperoni pizza and cesar salad. Great spot downtown. We sat outside on a lovely night overlooking the Vikings stadium

Amanda A.

Yelp
Amazing food! a lot of self service, if you don't mind that, it's such a great place to dine!
google avatar

Daniel E.

Yelp
Simply put, this is a no-frills converted hotel lobby that serves great food. Oh my, I am so grateful that a friend selected this place because it was really good. We ordered a pizza and multiple empanadas, and they were outstanding. It was easy to order at the counter and be served, as you had a number at your table.
google avatar

Adam M.

Yelp
Food was fresh and amazing. From the first hire of the pizza you can tell they use high quality ingredients and took their time in the preparation. Their hard work and dedication to serving high quality food is reflected in how good this pizza and empanada were. Keep in mind this is Italian food with an Argentinian twist and they hit it on the nail. Very light and airy pizza and the Parmesan on the crust is an elegant touch that adds another layer of flavor to the already tasty pizza. Their hard empanadas were the star of the show. The dough was crispy and soft with a flavor packed filling. The pollo one is hands down my favorite. So fresh and you can taste the individual ingredients used in preparing this dish. The sauce that comes with the empanadas are second to none. The donuts are good, you can't miss with them. Overall very good food, service was excellent and friendly, a lot of rich history displayed inside the restaurant. Don't take my word for it, go ahead and give this restaurant a try, especially if you want to switch up from tradition Italian pizza
google avatar

Matt And Cathy G.

Yelp
Such unique food--not any pizza you've seen before. Charming warm location and laid-back vibe overall. Minneapolis knows how to do comfort food!
google avatar

Kristin L.

Yelp
The pizza is great, with a chewy salty sweet crust I can't resist! The restaurant was crowded and the service a bit slow due to the crowd but the hubbub and atmosphere and delicious food made it all worth it. Great place to meet friends for some pizza and a drink!
google avatar

Mr. David B.

Yelp
Top notch choice for large groups or dinner for two. Great flavor and high quality of food. Salads will feed 2-3 people.
google avatar

Ben Y.

Yelp
The pizzas are a pretty decent size. I don't think an adult can finish one by themself unless they have a super big appetite. It's kind of a self servy type place where you order then sit down. We got the Campo and Porteno pizzas. Both were pretty good. Personally I don't think it's better than a slice of NY pepperoni but it's something different.
google avatar

John K.

Yelp
Wonderful experience, best crust and just enough salty pizza with plenty of extra cheese. Indoor and outdoor seating, great ambiance and good service.

Paige M.

Yelp
sooooo good wow. the pepperoni was so tasty. the shredded cheese on top is so good. the churro donuts were soooo good too. will definitely be back
google avatar

Jazlynn P.

Yelp
I call myself a pizza snob and I'm so glad I found Boludo! I love my crust to be crispy and my pepperoni to be crisp too and Boludo does just that! The flavor is just amazing that makes their pizzas stand out from the rest. Honorable mentions: the Caesar salad, the churro donuts and the pollo empanada. So many great items, just go check them out!
google avatar

Claire M.

Yelp
Boludo is one of our favorite pizza joints around, with super easy access from the light rail. We had the pepperoni pizza, chicken + beef empanadas, flan, and churro donuts. Everything we had felt like a home run. My only tip would be that dine in makes all the difference. Eating that pizza fresh makes all the $$ you spend worth every penny. I would be happy to recommend anything on their menu to any of my friends.
google avatar

Tierra SheReviewz Z.

Yelp
I've ordered here twice for take out and the food was absolutely delicious both times. My only issue is the service. First time I arrived and moments before walking in a guy told me they were closed and no more orders...even though I was picking up a order. Second time, the register girls were just confused. Service just didn't really seem welcoming and I was happy I wasn't dining in. Overall the food was great. The empanadas are excellent and the pizza took me by surprise. Price was a bit much but I would recommend this restaurant for the food alone. I'd probably try another location for the service. Also parking is along the street. They have outdoor seating and booths/tables inside but the space is not that big. Almost looked like there was some type of theatre on the back that was closed off. I loved the food though!
google avatar

Jen S.

Yelp
Food looks great. Unfortunately I wasn't able to have lunch. Upon entering I was given a menu by a busser and told to sit wherever I'd like. I was not informed that I had to order up front so I sat at a table being ignored for 10 minutes before I walked out. To make matters worse, a blond curly haired woman was standing at the front, back turned and on her phone. I had to speak up to get her attention and that's when she told me I should have ordered first then sat down. My bad I guess... Great reviews must be only for the food because the customer service is lacking.

Yelp
Wife is a Cesar salad enthusiast so we decided to check this place out. Walking in, you seat yourself and order at the register when you're ready. Plates, cups, utensils, and a water jug is all self serve - which I thought was weird since the restaurant itself is pretty nice. Plates and utensils were dirty. You also get charged a 10% and 18% service fee which I thought was ridiculous since you're pretty much serving and cleaning up after yourself. Food was great. Service and cleanliness needs an upgrade for sure.

Yelp
Ordered delivery via uber eats. So I haven't been to the restaurant. This place is damn near a 5 star. Order 2000 empanadas and call it a day. The chef that makes those is unbelievable. I mean WOW. I wish I just got them and skipped the pizza. The chef that makes the pies needs help. Although I appreciate the high quality pepperoni. This pie is a bust. The sauce is waaaaaayyyyyyyy to sweet. I mean a heavy hand with the sugar. You guys need to fix that. And the crust is limp....wet limp. And oily. Not sure they pay enough respect to the pizza maker. People think it's easy but it's a skill...or a craft. You can't hire Johnny Billy off the street and teach him how to make a pizza. Doesent work like that. If this place figures out how to make a proper pizza? And with those empanadas....omg. I would never leave. Cheers

Yelp
Wowza! I usually get my empanadas from a competitor that's a bit closer to home, but I'm a convert and will absolutely be making the trek back to this place more often! With a few locations in the Cities, we stopped by this spot on a rainy afternoon post a matinee show. There was street parking available to make it easy! The space itself is very small, with only four or five tables that fit about four people each. I wouldn't recommend for groups larger than four...stick to takeout ;) Service was quick and attentive, which was awesome! The two of us shared three empanadas and one pizza, which was the perfect amount! All three of the empanadas were yummy, but I especially appreciated the Ham and Cheese! The Campa pizza was also delish! LOTS of cheese on these pizzas, so come ready!! Can't wait to come back and try more!

Yelp
I walked to this restaurant for lunch and arrived at 2:27. Based on the company's website, they closed at 3 PM. I was told upon arrival that it was too late and wouldn't be able to be seated. I don't understand what the point of having hours of operation are if you don't follow them.
