Where to Dine Gluten-Free in Boston

"This Brazilian cafe and restaurant can serve up any of their savory sandwiches on pão de quejo, a gluten-free cheese bread. Many breakfast options are also gluten-free, like the mochi waffles, offered in berry and churro flavors, and heaped with whipped cream and fresh fruit. The spot is also known for their strawberry matcha." - Celina Colby, Eater Staff

Love love love! I’d been wanting for a long time to come for pao de queijo - Brazilian chewy cheese bread. My first visit did not disappoint! The Sunny Stack was impressively loaded with scrambled egg and tons of avocado/guacamole on the side, and the (BBQ-based) happy sauce on the side indeed made me very happy. Warning: it gets very messy once you add the two to the already full sandwich! The pao de queijo bun was even better (chewier and cheesier) than expected. It was very reasonably priced too. The guava pao de queijo was filled with lots of delicious guava jam. I had leftovers for dinner. The bread texture was different but still enjoyable. The entire sandwich smushed down a lot over the few hours, which actually made it less messy to eat. They have a sign saying no computers allowed on weekends. I saw a mix of people on laptops, people chatting, and people just focused on eating. Spacious with plenty of seating. Service was great too!

Google
The traditional pao de queijo w garlic butter was AMAZING. This is a must try! The bread is so fluffy on the inside with the right amount of chewiness. It's savory and cheesy, and goes so well with the garlic butter (although it's still good on its own). The gnocchi tomato basil soup 🍅🌿 was so delicious and pairs so well with the grilled cheese 🧀. The mochi waffle was very good as well, being crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside because of the mochi.

Bom Dough is a Brazilian bakery/cafe serving up Breakfast and Brunch foods, as well as an assortment of drinks. We came in the early morning, so the place didn't have that much of a line and wasn't too packed. The staff were friendly, explaining to us the menu as well as letting us sit down and wait for the foods, though getting the food was a bit confusing as they had separate areas for the food and drink pickup. We got a peach matcha, which came only in an iced form, as well as a Jalapeno Cheddar ace breakfast sandwich and a everything luxe salmon breakfast sandwich. Both sandwiches were kinda small for the price, but tasted really good. The bagels were toasted great and overall was a good bite to eat, and didn't feel too greasy or overwhelming. The peach matcha was good, though didn't really stand out with matcha flavor even with extra matcha in it.

We got the Smoked Maple Salted Cold Brew Latte on tap and the Iced Peach Matcha Latte. The cold brew was good, but it got very cloying after halfway through it, even though I ordered it less sweet. The peach matcha latte tasted a bit watered down but was decent. I wasn’t a huge fan of the peach syrup, as it was too overpowering, but my friend liked it. The Guava Pão de Queijo (cheese bread) was underwhelming. The bread lacked authentic flavor, and the guava jam tasted artificial. We also got the Choice Vegetarian sandwich with Pão de Queijo bread for takeout (no photos). The bread paired well with the pesto, but the sandwich was a bit pricey ($9.50) for its small size. However, the Brigadeiro Cookie was pretty good. This is a great place to study, given all the natural light and space!

Google
Fancy looking place and food, tastes ok. You order and pay at the counter, then your food will be brought to your table. The mochi waffle was ok. It's pretty hard/crunchy, not a soft waffle. The edges tasted a bit like burned oil. For the Salmon Egg Benedict, the salmon had a strong smokey flavor (I prefer milder smoked salmon flavor), the salad was too cold for my liking (straight from the fridge), and some of the egg whites were still soft too. The bun and the salad dressing were good. The sparkling matcha strawberry ginger lemonade tasted like medicine to me, but my daughter liked it. She would have preferred it without ginger, though. The matcha late and chai late were ok. I liked the setting, although it smelled a bit like fried bacon. They do have a highchair for little kids, but it would have been nice if it had been cleaner. Overall the food was so so, but we'd like to try other items on the menu in the future, especially some coffee and Pão De Queijo. I may adjust my rating after testing out more.

Google
A must visit if you're in the area! I've been a few times, but this was my first time dining in. The staff is super friendly, the space is clean and atmosphere is very cozy. I had the crack chicken sandwich on pao de queijo, and it was absolutely delicious. The regular pao de queijo in general is delicious, and I'm excited to go back to try the guava and dulce de leite types as well. I always get the matcha here as well, and highly recommend to any other matcha enthusiasts. It gets a bit busy on weekends, but that is totally understandable for how good it is. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Google
As someone who is always on the search for delicious, local gf eats, this place definitely hit the spot! Food was surprisingly filling without being greasy, and had delicious complex flavors despite being outwardly simple. I tend to be a fan of Brazilian cuisine due to the great flavors and gluten friendly versatility, and this was no exception. However, I do wish they had more dairy free items (I am also lactose intolerant).

Google
I personally had a great experience here, especially as someone who can’t eat gluten - here’s what you should know. I personally think everything is very consistent, but the sweet treats are where they really shine. Bacon and eggs both tasted good and high quality, but very obviously not the most fresh. The guava pao de queijo really surprised me, its gluten free and filled with a smooth, sweet guava jam on the inside. The taste teleported me back to the same satisfying taste of some guava cookies I ate in Costa Rica. The WAFFLES. They’re mochi waffles and they’re gluten free, I couldn’t get enough of them. The matcha was nice and soothing, a perfect way to top off the meal.

Yelp
Highly recommend everyone check this Brazilian cafe out. It's very large and clean, but on weekends there is a brawl for seating! The menu is very big. You can get a coffee with breakfast or lunch. The coffee is solid and has fun flavors. The food also hit the spot. The service is great too.

Yelp
Heard good things about this cute cafe in Inman Square and finally got to check it out. Went on a Sunday afternoon and it was quite busy. Was surprised by the decent amount of seating inside but still had to wait a bit for a table to clear. Ordered the good egg breakfast sandwich on the pao de quiejo bread. It was super filling and definitely not your typical breakfast sandwich! Also ordered an iced doce de leite latte which I loved because it wasn't overly sweet. Would come back to try more food items and drinks like the matcha.

Yelp
Flavors - 4.2/5 Textures - 5/5 Presentation - 3.5/5 Value for Money - 4/5 I love how this place is so different and do such a good job with it. I went when they first opened and it was good, but had some things to improve. Now a year later they fixed all the little issues and continued to innovate their offering. Have a anything that they make on pao de queijo (which is also gluten free!) and you'll see what I mean. I tried their breakfast sandwich (good egg) and not only was it extremely cheese because of the bread, but was very well balanced and seasoned.

Yelp
Bōm dough has really good coffee. I like how balanced it is and their lattes weren't overly sweet. I haven't had their real food, but based on the pão de queijo, it was mid and overpriced. I've had better at a hole-in-the-wall in Framingham, for half the price. (But I get it. It's Cambridge.) Though I liked how the other pastries weren't overly sweet. They were done pretty well. I also do like their space - there is a lot of natural light and greenery!

Yelp
Went again and loved the Bacon Egg and Cheese on an everything bagel! The scrambled eggs here are so good.

Yelp
Such a cute, cafe vibe serving unique, modernized brazilian flavors. Service was fast and helpful, making for an overall plesant experience. Staring with the matcha, it wasn't my favorite of all time as it had an untraditional, very bitter taste. However, it was still a great accompaniment to the meal. As for the pão de queijo, though they were pretty expensive, the were absolutely packed with delicious cheese flavor and took on a beautiful soft and chewy texture. I couldn't choose a favorite flavor if I tried: the traditional was perfect and simple while the doce de leite added a surprising yet sweet contrast to the cheese. If you come here for anything, make sure to get at least one pão de queijo to try, it's so worth it!

Yelp
When Bom Dough first opened, I expected to have just your basic coffee and a pastry. I wasn't expecting Bom Dough to instantly become my favorite cafe! Too many of the cafes in Cambridge are noisy and crowded - with overpriced small scones and pastries. Bom Dough is what a cafe should be! A special shout out to the barrista who prepared my cortado "Spanish style". In Spain, a cortado is 1 shot of espresso and a LITTLE milk. Conversely, a Portuguese Galão is what most American cafes pass off as a cortado. Ugh.

Yelp
Holy Moly! This place was so so good. We weren't sure what to expect, so we got a little variety of things to try, and we were floored by how delicious it all was!! The pao de queijo grilled cheese was probably our favorite! So cheesy, great flavor, and the tomato soup was an amazing pairing. The Lux salmon was amazing too-- simple flavor but everything tasted fresh and paired well together. The sweet, delectable caramelly, doce de leite pao de queijo was so good! They warmed it up for us, and the caramel-type inside was steaming hot but it was so freaking good. The bun has a nice subtle cheesy flavor that complemented the inside. We had them make our smoked maple cold brew less sweet, and it was amazing as well. The flavor complemented the smoothness of the cold brew, which had a full, smooth, flavor. Overall, we loved it here!!!

Yelp
Pretty solid Brazilian cafe. The sandwiches were all pretty good. Pretty nice place to chill.

Yelp
A cafe on my long list of cafes to check out! I love bōm dough!! A cute cafe with lots of working space as well. The vibes are there and the cute little artwork completes it. The peach matcha latte is very very remarkable - so refreshing yet still has this great matcha flavor! Smoked salted caramel latte and pistachio latte hit the notes as well. However, they got a little too sweet after a few sips for my personal preference. The savory pao de queijo is classic but the seasonal guava one is definitely worth getting again. -9/10

Yelp
I dream about the pao de queijo. PERFECTION! Anyways... I came here on a holiday weekend so, unsurprisingly, the line was out the door. It took maybe 10 minutes to make it to the counter to order. I ordered the regular pao de queijo and a hot coffee. Service was very friendly and my order was ready quickly. There is a good amount of seating so I was able to find a table. They brought my food out maybe 5 minutes after ordering, which makes sense since they just had to heat up my pao and pour my coffee. The pao de queijo was HEAVENLY. Warm, chewy on the outside, perfectly moist and fluffy on the inside. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because the coffee was meh. I asked for milk and they put so much in it looked like a latte, which might explain why it was room temperature. I don't think it was bad per se but I like my coffee hot. I WILL be back though for more of that cheese bread!

Yelp
Went for a late brunch and tried their proper food: I was very pleasantly surprised! Had their gnocchi tomato soup thing, high was really nice and a huge portion. Also tried the chicken sandwich, which was very good but also quite small. Didn't have to wait long for a table, but i do think takeout is the best strategy here, given that there isn't table service and you spend most of the time in like to order.

Yelp
bōm dough might be my new favorite bakery/casual cafe in boston! the light and bright ambiance is perfect and not too fancy. it can be a little loud but easily overlooked. service is very friendly - you order at the front and they bring your food out to you. the traditional pao de quejio is absolutely phenomenal, i could eat 10 of them. the guava and doce de leite pao de quejios are both good too, but i enjoyed the traditional cheese much more. the other food was solid, but i think where bōm dough really shines is the individual pao de quejios. the benedict was yummy and served on a pao de quejio (of course) instead of the typical english muffin. the mochi waffles were decent but nothing too special. the tomato basil gnocchi soup and pao de quejio combo was probably the best food item that i had! the soup was perfectly paired with the pao de quejio. overall, i would highly recommend and i can't wait to come back!

Yelp
This is not a drill...I was brought to the absolute best breakfast meal I've ever had. Talk about unique, satisfying, quality, and aesthetic. This was our first stop on our way to Harvard and I hardly could decide on what to get. My friend got the Mochi Berry Waffle, added a side of potatoes, and an oat milk ice coffee. I ultimately got the breakfast combo which came with a choice of pao bread (I remember there was a basic, garlic, and guava), scrambled eggs, and thick sliced bacon. I also ordered a pistachio matcha latte. You order at the counter and choose your table. We got the window table at the smaller dining area. It was completely empty when we began and it was very quiet. But this place fills up quickly! So make sure you get there early to find parking and have the ultimate breakfast. The pao bread was heeeeavvvvyy in weight and light in sweetness. Filled with guava jam of some sort, chewy mochi like bread, crispy outside. The scrambled eggs were perfect and a great portion. And the bacon. OMG the bacon was thick cut, perfectly cooked, more like pork jerky coated in a caramelization of the bacon fat. My type of bacon. The matcha latte was quite sweet. I think it was the pistachio, which I'm not certain but it seems like they use the pump flavored syrups. So that's probably where the sweetness came from. Overall added to the meal and it was the perfect breakfast for my last day in Boston.

Yelp
Love. Amazing eggs. cheese bread. Good drinks. Good service. Nice ambiance- not too precious or trying too hard to be cool. Just clean, good sun, no laptop policy sometimes. Wishing them lots of success.

Yelp
Dining method: Dine-in Item(s) ordered: doce de leite pão, guava pão, The Catch, Avocado and Egg plus pesto, cappuccinos Speed: Food came out in about 20-30 minutes, the place was super busy Value: Prices are reasonable, maybe a bit high for the small sizes but I'll pay for good food. The Review: BŌM dough isn't kidding. It's definitely is very good (bōm). On top of the delicious eats, the café itself is airy, light, and modern inside. Makes for a whole experience while munching on this twist on a Brazilian classic, pão de queijo. We were really blown away by how good the pão were, from savory all the way to sweet. Their coffee was a nice addition to our spread. Way to go! We will 1000% be back.

Yelp
LOVE. Amazing study space with great drinks, food, and atmosphere. It has all the essentials for a study spot: outlets, WiFi, spacious desks, yummy food and drinks, and instrumental music. I ordered the peach matcha latte, pao de queijo with scrambled eggs / arugula salad, and potatoes. The peach matcha latte was delicious. It was not overly sweet and had rich matcha flavor. I loved the Brazilian cheese bread in the pao de queijo combo. But lowkey, I wish I ordered another dish because the eggs and arugula salad were nothing extremely special. The potatoes were also okay. I considered ordering the breakfast gnocchi and saw someone else order it later. I had order regret because it looked really good. They also have great AC... so I'd recommend you bring extra layers XD. I would love to come back and try more items on the menu! Definitely somewhere where you can lock in.

Yelp
Yes, please: unique latte flavors, well-crafted coffee and tea, and excellent pao de queijo makes this a bright spot in the area. Don't miss the version filled with guava jam (and I do mean filled).

Yelp
I have wanted to try böm dough for ages, and I finally did - and it exceeded my expectations. My friend and I ordered the strawberry matcha, and we loved it - it has such a unique flavor, and you can truly taste both the strawberry and the matcha. I ate the crack chicken sandwich, and it was delicious - the chicken was perfectly seasoned and the mozzarella and other toppings added so much flavor. The bread itself was to die for - my friend and I both got our sandwiches in traditional Brazilian pão de queijo bread, and it was so soft and fluffy but also filling at the same time. The cafe itself also has such a cute and cozy vibe. I'm so glad I tried böm dough, my friend and I both loved it and have agreed that we will return soon.

Yelp
This place is casual and you order at the front then find seating where you can. It can get pretty crowded on the weekend but should be doable if you come with someone else (one person gets seats another orders ) Crack chicken on baguette - perfect sharable size. crispy and yummy Sunflower and cacao acacia bowl - perfect amount of sunflower butter i like ( a lot) Matcha lavender latte - not officially on the menu but o so good definitely ask for it! (not pictured) doce de leite donut - will be back just for this donut alone

Yelp
A very cute spot! It's clean and spacious. This is a place I would go for the environment more than the food. I really appreciated how distanced yet wide each table was. Even though it's open, it still feels like there's a sense of privacy due to all the space between each seating area. The space also provides a high ceiling which allows room for conversation without having to speak over the people around you. The service was good. Servers knew where to look throughout the wide location helping them deliver food promptly. The food and drinks were good and kept me sustained during my stay. Again, not really rating this place for the food. It's a place I would go back to due to its maintenance and design.

Jing C.

Yelp
Amazing service super nice! Food was also fireee. I loved the mochi waffles and the crack chicken was soo flavorful. WiFi included and great working spot

Yelp
Healthy, organic, ingenious designs and recipes catering to all categories of individual preferences. I appreciated their flavors and if I ever found myself in the Boston area I would come back 100% and take everyone with me. Thank you bom dough. You are the bom

Yelp
I was finally able to stop by bom dough and was pleasantly surprised. Bom dough is easily one of the best options for breakfast in Cambridge. The food was high quality, fresh, and delicious! Overall, I would definitely visit here again. They have a spacious seating area and lots of great options to choose from. Parking may be the only difficulty here if you're driving.
google avatar

Madeleine B.

Yelp
Ordered takeout and got the crack chicken sandwich as well as the brigadeiro cookie. The sandwich was tasty but small, similar to my prior experience here, the sandwich portions are definitely petite. The cookie on the other hand was huge and delicious. Overall I would recommend for people to try this place because the food is tasty, but I wouldn't go regularly as the value for portion size just isn't there.
google avatar

Izzy T.

Yelp
Smallish portions for the price, but solid food. My favorite thing about it is the local feel, it's something unique for the area that no one else is doing, and they do a good job of bringing culture to the area. Service was great, the cashier was very sweet and had great recommendations. It was pretty busy at around 9:45 on a sunday, but I'd assume it's less busy most other times. The food was good, just a little underwhelming for the price. The Good Egg sandwich was really good, as the arugula and lime avocado balanced out the cheese and egg. The bacon was absolutely insane. We also got the Ace breakfast. My only complaint here is that the Muenster cheese doesn't melt super well, and in combination with the pão de quiejo, it felt very heavy/oily after a while. I feel like a different cheese would be great in these sandwiches, just to let the bread shine a little more. The Pão de quiejo itself was OK, just a little underdone (which I think is because it's a bigger version of the small ones). The Doce de leite pão were really good, but I almost felt like they had too much doce de leite inside (in proportion to the bread). I'm not sure but I think it's still cheese bread, which actually works really well with the sweetness of the filling. I also got a doce de leite iced latte which very very very good, and worth the $5+. Overall, definitely try the bacon, at least one of the pãos, and the coffee, which are all very high quality.
google avatar

Gabi K.

Yelp
Overall this place is a 4 but the strawberry matcha is delicious. I don't even like strawberry matcha and I'm addiction to this amazing drink. It's definitely on the sweeter side but man it's so good. The interior is the typical which cafe minimal aesthetic. The cashier and other workers are all friendly and make the food pretty quickly. I've had the Brazilian cheese bites and sandwiches here which were all decent but nothing too crazy. I am obsessed with the strawberry matcha. The peach one is good too but I'm team strawberry
google avatar

Mellany B.

Yelp
I've been ordering bom dough online recently. I saw that they had new items since my last visit and wanted to try it. Peach matcha was an interesting combo to me so I had to get it. I really like how both flavors complement each other and the drink isn't too sweet or taste artificial at all. For the 20oz doce de leite latte, they put four shots of espresso in it!! I really like that they had figured out the appropriate amount of shots for the sizing of the cup. I think about their drinks pretty often and would frequent there if I was close by. I haven't tried their food since the last time but I saw that they no longer have the flatbread. I think bom dough has gotten something right if there's always a crowd when I pick up my order. If you're in the area and it's still early for caffeine, I would def give this place a try.

Yelp
Highly recommended checking this place out! Not only is it beautiful inside, there are so many options for food and drink options. I ordered an iced pistachio latte with oat milk and the crack chicken sandwich! The crack chicken sandwich was so flavorful. Everything they added to the sandwich worked so well together. The pistachio latte was smooth and a good amount of sweetness. Decent amount of seating available and clean bathrooms as well.

Yelp
A cute gem I didn't expect to find in Somerville! We came on a Sunday for the first time and had no idea how PACKED it would be! The line was crazy long and it stayed super busy until the late afternoon. If you can tolerate the loud volume at this cafe/restaurant, it is a good place for brunch with friends or as a study spot. They have a good amount of seating also. As for the food, it was pretty unique and also serves as a great way to expose people to some Brazilian bakery pieces you wouldn't have otherwise found unless you wandered into a Brazilian mom and pop shop. Though a bit pricey for the small portions, food was still very tasty. What I ordered: -Pao de queijo, scrambled eggs, bacon artisan pastry combo -Pesto, tomato, mozzarella pao de queijo (not pictured)

Yelp
WOW this place is incredible! Some of the best matcha around for sure. This place is very cute and I loved the self ordering kiosk they have up as an option. I got the iced strawberry matcha latte with oat milk to start and it was so incredible I drank it so fast and had to order a second drink. My second drink was the sparkling strawberry matcha lemonade and that one was incredible too! My berry mochi waffles were good and very filling, I wasn't even able to finish the whole waffle. I will definitely have to come back here in the future!

Yelp
Bōm dough is a favorite cafe of mine to frequent. The staff are lovely, the service is quick, and although it is noisy from chatter, the cafe's natural lighting and greenery create a peaceful atmosphere. For those who are gluten free, they offer pão de queijo (cheesy Brazilian rolls) as a yummy bread swap. I ordered the wicked brisket sandwich with pão de queijo. This was an oily combination, but the arugula and tomato helped balance it out. Very tasty! To pair with, I got a strawberry matcha latte. They did a great job of maintaining the slight bitter/nutty flavor of matcha with the drink's sweetness.

Yelp
This is one of my new favorite cafes! I can't stop thinking about the strawberry matcha Strawberry matcha latte 10/10: easily one of the best i've had. the balance of strawberry to matcha is great. the sweetness could be toned down ever so slightly but it's still amazing. Matcha strawberry ginger lemonade 7/10: i had a sip of my friend's and it was good but nothing amazing. very earthy tasting but still not bad Gnocchi tomato cream soup with baguette 8.5/10: it's yummy! it's filling, hearty, and delicious. there could definitely be more gnocchi. the baguette could also be warmed slightly because it didn't taste super fresh but i overall loved it brisket sandwich in a pao de quiejo 8/10: super delicious pesto flavor, but took some points off for how oily it was. i had to use the fork and knife it came with to eat it. it was super filling because the bread was thick and chewy mochi berry waffles 5/10: it was drowned in maple syrup to the point we could barely eat it. if you get it, make sure to get the syrup on the side because we would've enjoyed it much more. the whipped cream was delicious though This is a great place to do work (but they don't allow laptops on weekends and holidays!!). It can get a little noisy but the music they play is nice!

Yelp
Crack Chicken-- 8.5/10 This sandwich on the brazilian bread was soooo goood. I want to go back just for the bread. Soft and chewy. Crack chicken sauce was delicious. Iced Latte- 6.5/10 The latte was alright. I wouldnt go back here for the coffee. Bitter and just average It was super busy inside when I went on a sunday morning. Lots of tables to sit. Ambiance was good Tip: line was super long when I passed by, i ordered ahead online parked and food was ready pretty fast!

Yelp
I loved their smoked salmon sandwich! It was little expensive at $13 for that small of a sandwich, but it was really delicious. The Pao de queijo bread was soft and not too cheesy. They gave a good amount of smoked salmon too. I loved it and would def like to try another sandwich next time.

Yelp
This cafe has the cutest vibes, and very welcoming. I love how it has so much natural light. There's a lot of seating, and they have a very extensive menu. I enjoyed my strawberry matcha, and thought the strawberry flavor was just strong enough to not overpower the matcha, and it was a balanced drink, which many cafes aren't capable of. I wasn't as impressed with the breakfast gnocchi, but I do think this is probably just personal preference. My friend got the vegetarian sandwich and it looked delicious. Overall, would come again and this is a great place to have brunch or do some work in.

Yelp
Unique twist on brunch. It's kinda like Tatte but better and more local in feeling. Order at the counter and then sit down - salmon royale Benedict -4/5 - good flavor profile, just kinda cheat a little on the egg as not truly poached (is more of a fast casual ready type of egg) which prevents it being 5/5 - pao de quiejo- 5/5 unique flavor, great texture/ consistency Would come back again if in the area

Yelp
Cafe in Inman Square! I wanted to gatekeep this place when my friend first brought me here, because it honestly might be my favorite brunch spot in Boston and Cambridge. Their "handcrafted sandwiches" are cool (you're not here to get a bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel) and they are bangers, the mochi waffles are big and come with lots of toppings, and they have some pretty unique specialties like their breakfast gnocchi and benedicts served on pan de quiejo. They also have a sizable drink menu (tea, matcha, juice, coffee, etc.) and I'm big fan of their matcha fruit drinks and seasonal cold brews. The space has a good amount of seating compared to most cafes, and is set up for smaller groups (two to four people). Vibes are clean, simple, and modern; during the week it's a good spot for getting work done (free wifi and a lot of WFH-ers here), and on the weekends it becomes a busy spot for people to catch up. Additional note: I think about their pan de quiejo sandwiches a lot. They have a really solid menu but here are some of my favorite recommendations: any "handcrafted sandwich" on pan de quiejo -- my favorites are the Crack Chicken and the Good Egg and the pan de quiejo adds a lot of savoriness and decadence to the sandwich, the Berry Mochi Waffle -- the mochi texture is there and it's not too sweet, and the Breakfast Gnocchi -- gnocchi in creamy tomato sauce, served with burrata and their perfectly poached eggs, all balanced with a small side salad.

Yelp
Lovely cafe with a cute interior and plenty of seating. Great cafe to study in ~ Everything we tried was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend their pão de queijos - they were very cheesy and soft. They have additional flavors like garlic or pesto but I think original is still the best. Their sweets were amazing too - if you want an interesting latte, try their pistachio one. It has strong, nutty pistachio flavor and they have plenty of non-dairy options too. Dulce de Leche donut was good, the filling was a bit too sweet for me but the flavor was on point. Overall bōm dough is definitely one of my favorite cafes around Cambridge.

Yelp
Have been wanting to try bom dough since it opened, so was excited to stop by for a casual Saturday brunch with friends! Overall, loved the ambience of the cafe -- open, bright, and well-kept. It would be a nice place to do some work (including free WiFi). The menu is centered on their pao de queijo (cheesy bread), but there are also lots of other great options! Our favorites were the pao de queijo breakfast sandwiches (come in pairs so you can try multiple types of pao de queijo!), and the peach matcha latte (amazing albeit on the sweeter side). The individual chocolate and guava pao de queijos were also incredible. Tip: For the all day sandwiches, you can choose between brioche buns, bagels, and baguettes. We really enjoyed the brioche bun; our friend got a baguette and said it was not great. The only minor critique is that their ordering line took quite awhile because there was only one cashier and people often had questions about the menu. We stood in line for probably 15-20 minutes waiting to order, even though there were only ~3 parties ahead of us. Food: 1. Chocolate pao de queijo (4.5/5) 2. Bacon egg and cheese pao de queijo (5/5) -- we got these on the original and pesto pao de queijo buns! 3. Good egg sandwich on brioche bun (5/5) Drink: 1. Peach matcha latte (4.5/5)

Yelp
This is my favorite cafe in Cambridge - my go-to spot to catch up with friends or get some work done. Every time I've come here, the food and drinks have been perfect and the staff is friendly. The ambiance is super cute and the space is surprisingly large! I've never had issues finding street parking near the cafe. A review of some items on the menu: pao de queijo These buns have almost a mochi-like springy texture in the middle and they are so flavorful and indulgent. Garlic is my favorite :) berry mochi waffles Waffles are sweet but not too sweet, texture is wonderfully soft and chewy, and the fresh berries are a nice balance. This also comes with a side of eggs + salad or bacon. The eggs are creamy and well-seasoned without being overcooked or runny, and the bacon was nice and thick. This is the perfect brunch item! wicked smoked brisket I probably shouldn't have gotten this on the pao de queijo, because it ended up being a little bit too salty/greasy with that choice. I would totally get this sandwich again with a baguette instead. The smoked brisket was tender and juicy, and the sandwich was very indulgent with the combo of fatty brisket + cheese + pesto. It was small but very filling! I also really love their strawberry matcha latte, as well as their sparkling matcha, strawberry, and ginger lemonade! Everything tastes freshly made.

Yelp
Loveee, this is one of my favorite cafes in the area! Vibes are great, drinks are good, and pão de queijo is to die for. There is a lot of seating here, although it's important to note that they have a no screens policy on the weekend. You order at the counter and if you are eating in the cafe, they will bring your food to your table. The pão de queijo is soooo good. Chewy, but not too dense, and lightly crisp on the outside. Plus, for folks with dietary restrictions, it's gluten free! I have liked all the flavors (guava dip is fire) but my favorite is the garlic pão de queijo grilled cheese with tomato soup!

Yelp
The food was so goood Brisket was juicy and the buns were nice! Tomato soup was a bit acidic but perfect complement with baguette and sandwich:) The wait was pretty short even tho the line was close to the door. They hand u a number after ordering and the server brings out the food. There's plenty of space for a spot in Cambridge tbh and it's p nice inside. Loved the strawberry matcha even tho I don't like matcha that much as the strawberry flavor complemented it well. 10/10 would come again!

Yelp
Go for the matcha! My iced peach matcha with almond milk was perfectly balanced and delicious. The food was good but Lil's breakfast sandwich was super soggy because we ordered for to go and they were super busy and let her food sit in the window for so long!! I would definitely go during off hours and get food there not to go unless you're just getting coffees or pastries.

Yelp
The food and drink was great! I got there around opening--and it was already bustling. Always a great sign for a cafe. I ordered the smoked salmon, arugula, and cream cheese pao de quiejo and a doce de leitte latte. It was clear that everyone there spoke Portuguese so it was nice that they also understood and were patient with my pronunciation. Smoked salmon pao de quiejo (9/10): thought it seems a bit small, don't let the size fool you; I was happy with the amount of lox and cream cheese for the sizing. The pao de quiejo itself was dense and soft, the mixed cheese and tapioca creating a great texture to bite into. You can pick between a traditional or garlic option (and I'm a garlic girl so there was an obvious choice). I was super happy with this order! I wish I had one more to justify cost of it. Doce de leitte, hot (10/10): their coffee blend here is great. I usually opt for oat milk but wanted to allow the smokey flavor of the caramelized milk to shine through with a fattier milk. I will say, I do wish the cashier asked if I wanted hot or iced, but overall, I'm super pleased with the size and taste. The service is good, the cashiers are patient and kind and the waitresses/food runners were kind. I waited a while for my food so I had to stop someone to ask about it, and they promptly got it ready. I was very appreciative since they were busy. The cafe seems like a lovely place to sit and chat and has great potential for consumer to work there, but unfortunately, they have a "no screen time" policy on the weekends. Of course, it is up to the discretion of the establishment, but it isn't mentioned anywhere on their website that they have this policy, so I am deducting a star since it has potential to garner a lot of working people to use their facilities and purchase their goods. Would love to come back on a weekday and try to get some work done as well as try their sweet pao de quiejos!

Yelp
They take your order at the counter and then you take a table number and they bring your food and drinks out to your table when it's ready. Whole milk cortado and regular drip coffee were both solid, though nothing special. They use ceramic mugs when you order your drinks for-here which is always better than paper cups. The pao de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread) is pleasantly chewy on the inside and toasty on the outside. We got two breakfast sandwiches, which were both really good, just a little pricey for the volume.

Yelp
Best breakfast food in Inman Square! I guess this place takes a Brazilian or Portuguese bakery inspiration in the building I remember as Highland Fried previously. Silky smooth ordering via Toast either online or at a kiosk. Good espresso drinks. My egg, potato, salad, and smoked salmon bowl was a nutritious way to start the day after kids dropped off. Service is very friendly but maybe a slight language barrier - Portuguese speaking - I had to explain that hot sauce includes Tabasco for example - not a problem just be ready to work with that barrier. Ambiance is super calming - jazz music, airy white tile decor with wood accents and indoor plants for greenery.

Yelp
Delicious po de queijos and there's a variety of them to choose from! My favorite was the guava one and the small sandwich-like ones. I also ordered the gnocchi with some soup and unfortunately the container tipped over during delivery and spilled all over the bag and all the other food, which is why I'm rating it as is. Hoping to come back and try the food again while at the restaurant rather than ordering delivery, but also hope that the containers for soup are more sealed in the future!

Yelp
This lovely Brazilian café has the friendliest staff, tons of seating with natural sunlight shining onto their plants, and the most delicious selection of drinks, brunch sandwiches, soups, yogurt, and breads Their pão de queijo is absolutely out of this world‼ I love the fluffy texture of the bread and adding grilled cheese to them to dip into the tomato soup tasted so comforting and delicious You definitely need to try their sweet pão de queijo options in addition to their matcha drinks which have the perfect sweetness and matcha consistency If you're in Cambridge looking for a lovely place to work, this is your spot!
