"I learned that Bomba PDX is Rivera’s small-batch Italian doughnut pop-up focused on brioche-like bomboloni (also called bombolones), named to evoke “little bombs” and shaped like a classic round cartoon bomb; he produces monthly pre-ordered four-packs ($15 per box) via Venmo, promoted on Instagram @bombaPDX, and his first batch sold out with pick-up at Scottie’s. The doughnuts are made in a process similar to pizza dough—dividing, balling, proofing, and frying—and include vegan options that use aquafaba in place of eggs. Signature fillings include a vegan raspberry jam and Meyer lemon curd, plus a salty pistachio cream and a London fog cream (vanilla and earl grey tea), with seasonal variants like strawberry cream with chunks and blood orange curd. Came to the market before the Christmas holiday. We could smell the paella all the way across the market And stood in very long line that was moving quickly. We saw the lobster tails simmering and immediately ordered. The food is pricey and we thought it was delicious though a tad messy to eat standing up. Happy with the experience as we were new to London And wanted to see some Instagram worthy dining options. I see a lot of reviews for the stand that would agree with the quality of food, but are finding issue with the price point or the dining style. I would say that 27 pounds is a lot to pay for seafood paella, but the experience is rather unique. After all you are at the market, I don’t expect to be at a sitdown restaurant. I’m truly enjoyed the experience with my wife.

Tried this place for the first time after usually seeing long lines. This time the wait was only about 10 minutes, which was fine. I ordered the lobster paella, which came with a couple of shrimp, some moules, and a heap of rice. While the rice itself was cooked well, it was far too salty, and the lobster was undercooked and very difficult to remove from the shell. Service was disappointing and felt unprofessional. The staff were pushing people to pay in cash to “avoid extra charges,” claiming it’s a quicker process which came across as shady. Prices are outrageous: £27 for a very small portion that didn’t even taste good. Plenty of far better food options in Borough Market. I definitely won’t be back and would not recommend.

Bomba Paella is easily one of the most popular stalls at Borough Market. You can smell the fish from across the market area, and the massive paella pans with their friendly cooking team chatting to the long queue make quite a show. The presentation is seriously Instagram-worthy - those gleaming lobster tails, jumbo shrimp, and clams look absolutely stunning, and I get why everyone has their phones out. I came later in the day when the queue was shorter and tried the seafood paella. The rice was little undercooked but well-seasoned, but the premium seafood didn't match up. The jumbo shrimp and scallops were rubbery, and watching others eating around me, even those beautiful lobster tails weren't faring much better either and largely binned. At £24 to £28 per plate, I was pretty disappointed with the value. Borough Market has so many amazing food options, and honestly there are better choices where the quality matches what you're paying. The atmosphere and presentation are fun to watch, but this felt more like paying for the show than the actual food.

We fell for the Tiktok hype. The Paella (without lobster) was 24 GBP which converted from Canadian is nearly $45 and for not that much food. Flavour wise it was okay; kind of underwhelming. I understand they're busy but the people working the line are constantly shouting at customers. Another huge problem is that it is very messy to eat, having to remove the shells with your hands. There's also nowhere to really sit to make it easier on yourself. Recommend spending your money elsewhere in the market.

There’s a well-known paella place inside Borough Market. The paella is genuinely tasty. However, the prices are very high. Paying £27 for a portion you’ll likely eat standing up is quite expensive. The flavor is good, but it doesn’t deliver in terms of price–performance.

Waited for about 10 mins on a weekday at noon Lady kept saying cash we prefer cash I wonder why… They do take credit cards They got 2 options. 27 with the lobsters or 24 with two giant prawns We opted in with the lobsters however we feel like it is overpriced The rice itself is terrible. It has too much curry powder taste to it and the portion is just too small for how much it is. The lobster is soft and tender that’s a plus but for 27 pounds we expected a little more than a few bites We will not return for it

you’re visiting the market, you have to try this place for the atmosphere alone! The paella presentation is beautiful, and everything is cooked right in front of you. We had the lobster paella — tasty but had chicken mixed in, which was unusual for seafood. At £27 it’s a bit on the high side, but still a great experience.

The paela looks good but tastes so dissapointing. I paid £37 for a portion of paela with Madagascar shrimps and lobster tail. Shrimps were so tough, was challenging to chew them. Super dry and not a drop of juice. Lobster tail was less dry but still tough and tasteless. The rice itself only tasted of salt. Honestly don't know how something can look so good but have such a disappointing taste. Visited an hour before closing time on Monday and omg it was soo busy. Had to stand in the longest line to get paela. Honesltly guys, don't fall victim to a tourist trap, walk past. Lots of people doesn't always mean good product. Btw u don't have to take cash with you, everyone accepts card payments.
