Bomba ¡Tacos + Tequila!

I loved the atmosphere of this place. It was so cute and modern. There were TV’s all around, and fun little signs. We ordered 3 chicken tings tacos, 3 carne asada tacos, and 3 baja shrimp tacos. We absolutely loved the chicken tinga and the baja shrimp, however the steak was so tough. It was very difficult to chew. Service was great, atmosphere was great, and food was great minus the steak tacos.

Was in the area so decided to stop in. We were fortunate to catch the start of happy hour. Sat at the bar. Good looking place. Had two appetizers and drinks. Guacamole & Chips were very boring. Tasted like it was simply a couple of avocados mashed up. No spices or anything else added. I would not recommend getting them. The Chipotle chicken nachos were better but a little too salty. Lastly, I ordered a vodka martini and was told Tito’s is the house vodka. Martini wasn’t bad but the cost at $16.50 was exorbitant given the size of the drink. Service was just OK. Bar was not crowded. There were only 5 people total there at that time.

Had a great lunch experience at Bomba today. It was even better with it being Taco Tuesday—we got some good deals in. We started off with the queso dip, which came with tortillas and malanga root chips. We also wanted something spicy, but the sauces available on the table weren’t quite hot enough. One of the staff mentioned that the chefs make a custom spicy sauce, and they brought it out with the chips—it was amazing. If you can handle the heat, I definitely recommend asking for it. For my lunch, I got three specialty tacos: the Americano, Carne Asada, and the Beachcomber. The Beachcomber was my absolute favorite. The fish tasted amazing, especially with the mango salsa and a squeeze of lime all over. I wish I had ordered three of those. Next, I tried the Carne Asada taco—man, that steak had such great flavor. It might be a little salty for some, but I actually liked it. Mine had a bit too much pico de gallo, but overall, it was another solid one. I was too full to try the Americano taco, but my wife had hers and said it was really good. Overall, I really enjoyed this place. The prices seemed a little expensive for tacos at first, but they were actually filling and totally worth it. I can’t wait to return soon!

We came here to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and had such a great experience! Our server (I believe her name was Jaclyn) was fantastic—super friendly and attentive. The hostesses were also welcoming and very friendly. Overall, the service was excellent and our food came out quick. Both the food and drinks were 10/10! They even surprised us with a birthday dessert to top it all off. We’ll definitely be back!

Definitely get the Nashville hot chicken and the beachcomber tacos, they are delicious. The salmon taco was a bit flat. House Guacamole is ok, nothing special. Though the spicy jalapeño margarita is good, it is more ice than alcohol.

I visited Bomba to meet a friend for a weekend dinner. We were sat by the hostess as soon as we came in. The restaurant was very well-staffed to accommodate a busy Saturday evening. Our server did a great job answering any questions we had. We ordered a few appetizers while we were deciding on our tacos. Our Street Corn and Brazilian Cheesy Bread appetizers arrived first. Even though Bomba is more contemporary than authentic, the Street Corn was grilled and seasoned to perfection. It compared very similarly to what I’ve had at traditional Mexican spots. The Brazilian Cheesy Bread was delicious, but definitely more dense and cheesy compared to what’s served at Brazilian restaurants. Our tacos were presented exceptionally when they arrived. I ordered three different tacos. I was surprised that my favorite was the Sweet Potato taco. Both the flavor and texture of the toppings completed the sweet potato perfectly. The Yard Bird taco was much more flavorful than expected. The chicken was seasoned perfectly, and the toppings were fresh. The Nashville Hot Chicken taco was solid besides the chicken being a bit too oily. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked Bomba Taco. Food was great, service was consistent, and ambiance was enjoyable. I definitely see myself returning if I’m in the area again.

Bomba Taco Newtown,NJ Great service (Kasey was awesome), great drinks, great atmosphere Food was no good especially if you are used to/wanting authentic cuisine Very Americanized menu. Tacos are most definitely gringo type tacos Basic Chips and salsa were an up charge. Rice and beans which you can order as a side was plain white rice and old black unflavored beans. Food was very bland overall..this is more of a place you would find in the Midwest I would go back and sit at the bar though and have a drink like I said very nice atmosphere but they need some people who really cook that food to get into the kitchen

I had the birria tacos along with my sister and we both agreed we've had better but it was good, we both did however really enjoy the guacamole & chips appetizer, Mexican food is one of our favorite foods so we've gone to many places, plus we're hispanic so we know our stuff 😋 service was great and the place had a nice vibe and I really liked the deco, we dined outside since the June weather was nice to do so. Would like to try other things on their menu when I'm in the area again. Buen provecho!

We got the chicken nachos which were delicious, we ordered two tacos each our favorite was the salmon as the fried fish tacos didn't have that much flavor and would be better without the mango pieces, the drinks were solid, and the churros were delicious. There were multiple waiters/waitresses who brought our food so it was efficient. Most notable was the lively ambience with large TVs showing multiple games would be a great spot to watch football or baseball with friends!

I've been here 10-12 times before, but not in about a year. The food used to be great, and the staff still is -- everyone was very friendly and nice today. That said, the food has definitely gone downhill. I'm not someone who sends food back, but my wife's al pastor taco literally had almost no meat in it. She asked for more, and when it came back it tasted bad enough that she couldn't eat it. I ordered the piggy taco, shrimp taco, and Nashville hot. The shrimp was rock solid, the piggy taco was just bad, and while the Nashville hot was decent, everything was cold except for the rice and beans. Overall, really disappointing compared to how this place used to be.

I've been to this restaurant once before, and I completely forgot the name of it but I was dreaming about the tacos since then. Today I happened to pass by since we had to go to Pennsylvania. The restaurant atmosphere is nice and open, it's spacious and clean. We had the chips and salsa and cowboy fries to start. You get a choice of the salsa, we chose a mild one--fire roasted tomato salsa. The chips are really good and fresh. I thought it was interesting how they added taro chips as well. The salsa was good, but it wasn't super flavorful. If you want a more flavorful sauce, pick one of the others. The cowboy fries were delicious. They were loaded with pulled pork, fried onions, cheese, scallions, and bbq sauce. They were very delicious, highly recommend trying. Onto the tacos, the best part. My husband tried the street tacos, he tried 3 different meats, chicken, steak, and ground beef. They were all good. I had the blackened salmon and carne asada. The best one out of all was the blackened salmon. The mango salsa and seasoning is amazing and the fish was very crispy (not mushy at all). One thing I will note is that the tacos are big and filling. I found 2 was more than enough, my husband said 2-3 were enough for him, especially if you're having appetizers too. The service was also great and the washroom was clean.

The food is delicious. The serving staff is great and one waiter gave my best friend a gift card that we used last Saturday night.

My friend and I decided to stop here because we were coming home from an event and neither of us had been here. It was a Saturday fairly early and there was hardly anyone inside but yet we got seated in the covered patio - the heaters were on, the hostess informed us but still was chilly and I'm not sure why we couldn't sit somewhere in the empty interior. The place did seem to have some funky decor and a cool vibe. Our waitress was nice and helped me choose my meal. Their menu isn't too extensive but definitely unique - it's like a spin on Tex mex with some American options. The street tacos were priced individually by type or you could get plain tacos in a deal. They did have special for drinks and food. I wasn't sure what I was in the mood for but most of the things I was looking at had these weird chips I hadn't heard of - malanga chips - including the dip trio which came with two types of chips, salsa, guac and queso. The chips were definitely super oily but all of the dips were good but nothing amazing. I went with the chicken sandwich after the waitress recommendation because I wasn't feeling like mix and match tacos and the chicken and burger both sounded good. The chicken by itself was not good - definitely reminded me of a frozen battered patty but with all of the accoutrements was pretty good! Not sure how in a hurry I'll be to head back but it's decent and a good sit down option amongst the many fast casual options in the shopping center.

Uninspiring experience! Partly my fault for thinking this was Bar Taco (similar to one at King Of Prussia Mall); not even close. Do not order the tacos, plain and simple--- no flavor, way too wet hence they disintegrate as you try to pick them up to eat. I am not 8 years old and dripping food on my clothes is unacceptable. From the start, spent time trying to get acclimated to the menu. I was surprisingly told NO a handful of times to my questions. No other tequila-based mixed drinks other than the two on the menu and I don't drink margaritas, I prefer a good spicy tequila mixed drink... luckily there was the Jalapeno Paloma. Noticed the specialty taco section and saw the suggested 10 piece pkg, it was just my wife and myself so I asked, can we order 3 each then add 4 more based on the ones we liked.... NO!! Well that shut me down and I opted for the tuna poke bowl with priced cauliflower and it was rather good. However, my wife opted for 3 specialty tacos and while they were plated nicely, lacked flavor, and needed to eat them with a fork because when she tried to pick it up if crumbled in her hands onto her white shorts... to the dry cleaners they go. I tried a taste of each via a moral of the meat-- the Yard Bird, Smoked Piggy and Carne Asada Tacos and I would never order them. Again no flavor, no wow this is really good. We did start with the street corn, which was a good starter however it went downhill from there Plus for what it is, way overpriced. We will not be back

Taco Tuesday $5 tacos. Good place to grab a bite after work and sample different tacos without having to get big platters. They put a lot of effort into the decor. It is a bit loud but then again it IS a bar. Vegetarian options are clearly marked. Servers were great.

I've been to Bombas twice now. The first time I had tacos that were very good, chips and queso. The second time I went in Taco Tuesday and ordered a taco that I can't remember and the Brussels sprouts taco. The Brussels sprouts taco was one of the best I've ever eaten. So unusual with roasted Brussels, red onions, a little sliced jalapeno & sprinkled with peanuts. I can't tell you how delicious that was! This week I got a take out order of two of those delicious vegetable tacos. Even reheated at home they were divine! I hope they stay on the menu forever!

Came to this plaza for another restaurant and ended up trying Bomba because it was less crowded! Glad we did. We sat on the enclosed patio which was great and had great service. It took a bit longer than expected to get a drink and appetizer and there was a mistake with my kids food but nothing that would stop me from coming back. The drink was amazing. As was the appetizer, we ordered queso. I got two tacos, the Baja shrimp and the Baja fish. The fish taco wasn't anything to write home about, the toppings buried the fish and there was no flavor. The shrimp taco made up for it. It was the best shrimp taco I've had in ages. The breading was delicious and crispy, standing up to the wet toppings. I ordered a second. Prices add up quickly here since most of the tacos have individual pricing , but there is a street taco deal and some weekly specials, along with a rather large menu. I would definitely come here again. The spacious patio as well as a generous kids menu make this place very family friendly. The restaurant is in a very busy plaza so be aware that parking might be tough. Great time and a great choice in Newtown.

Wait staff was good/attentive/prompt Food has gone down hill since last visit 4 months ago. Tacos and coconut shrimp very poor. Cauliflower good.

The restaurant had some nice decor with good vibes and music playing. My group came in around 2:00 on a Saturday so it was pretty empty at the time, but started filling up as we left. We found it a little hard to flag down a waiter for requests, but they did circle back every once in a while. The food seemed to vary depending on what you ordered. I ordered three different specialty tacos: Yard Bird, Smoked Piggy, and Beachcomber. The Yard Bird was good. I found the Smoked Piggy to be extremely light with barely any meat, but the Beachcomber was loaded with fish. Satisfaction seemed to vary depending on the dish and its portions, and each specialty taco was a little pricey.

I have eaten at here once before a couple of years ago, and I remember it was a good experience. This Saturday 5/17 around 7:30 I decided to try again. We told the hostesses that we needed a table for two. The two girls began talking about plans for that evening and it was very awkward to be standing there and suddenly ignored. Then another employee (assuming a server) came to tell them the menus he grabbed weren't cleaned. He said something quietly but we heard it and the two girls still again didn't pay much attention to seating us and instead were reacting to each other about the comment. We finally were seated 5 minutes later. No one even looked at us for 10-15 minutes while we were at our table. There were a few open tables around the restaurant and several employees had walked by us at that point. We decided to leave at 7:45 and went next door to Iron Hill. I don't plan to be back to this restaurant after this experience. The table next to us even looked like they were waiting around for a while for someone to come by. I completely understand Saturday nights are busier at restaurants and I expect service may be slower but to not even be offered a drink, and the awkward encounter right when we walked in for several minutes was pretty disappointing when we saw a fair amount of empty tables around us inside and outside.

When I came to visit my grandmother and aunt in Newtown, I wouldn't have expected to have such an unpleasant experience at a restaurant. The first thing I will address is our waitress. She had an unwelcoming attitude almost like she didn't want to be there. Our food did come very fast, but the prices were insane. Would you pay 17 dollars for two tacos? I wouldn't. During the happy hour, the most basic beef taco was 8 dollars for two. We ordered queso, marinara, and guacamole. None of them had flavor. The marinara tasted dull, the guacamole was bland, and the cheese tasted like melted american cheese. The chips that came with it were overly salted, I'd stay away if I were you. When I had gotten my tacos, they were very small and tasted pleasant, though they were just the beef tacos. I then ordered the BombaChanga with high expectations. It came out steaming hot and looked amazing. The pork on the inside was very good but the rest of the plate was very bland and salty. Though, it was very filling and large. To end on a high note, the atmosphere of the store fits the theme very well. For example, tequila all around the store, dark lighting, and a diverse amount of table arrangements.

This used to be my guilty pleasure . Notice how I said it used to be the new menu is not as good, I always had 4 tacos now I cannot do that. One of our favorite tacos the YardBird was taken off the menu . The taco ingredients have changed as well and not for the better! Bring back the old menu! When it works you don't change things. I have to say that with this new way I won't be back. It simply was not as good!

Pretty good food at Bomba Tacos. We all ordered taco platters and were happy, but there was nothing amazing that would make me come back. The service was great, and our waitress was very friendly. I think I might try it again for happy hour and check out their drink and app specials.

We had such great service and the food was delicious! We were trying to figure out what to order and our server was very helpful and answered any questions we had.

I've had tacos here a few times, and they've always been tasty, no matter which kind I've tried. Good beer selection, according to my tastes, as well. Service is efficient and friendly. The only issue I have is the ambiance: it's noisy as heck! I brought a date here not long ago and it was a mistake. Not the kind of place where you can get to know someone, at least not indoors, or else it'd be a 5.

I was skeptical trying this location as I was not impressed by Paladar, their sister restaurant. I came for their Taco Tuesday promotion, and I was pleasantly surprised. We started off with the charred tomatillo salsa and queso dip, I think the queso was the star comparing the two. I did like that in addition to typical tortilla chips they also had taro chips for variety. The margaritas were refreshing and not too strong. For tacos we got the beachcomber and smoked piggy and they were so delicious! Full of flavor and packed with fillings. The tacos alone are a 5/5 but because the service was poor, I am deducting a star. It seemed impossible to flag down someone to order more and multiple workers ignored our table when we raised our hand. Despite that I would return because the prices are reasonable, and the food was good.

Not your everyday taco joint. Take your love for tacos to a new level at Bomba Taco located in the Village of Newtown shopping center. No ordinary tacos here. Bring an open mind and be ready for a culinary experience. Fresh medley of assorted flavors and textures delight the palate, while the atmosphere remains relaxed and casual. Feeling a little nervous about the options? Don't be afraid to ask, they were very accommodating to our few request to switch it up some. Service was impressive, always nice to have attentive wait staff and the manager checking in to see how we liked our meal. A+ all around and beyond worthy of a 5 star review!

The food was very good and the price was right table of 12 ordered everything tacos yuca fries,beer battered cauliflower and drinks sangria, beer,lemonade the tacos were spicy not everyone likes spicy and the poke taco wasnt a hit i dont recommended it the yuca fries were very good and we had a great waitress and there kid friendly

This restaurant was recently bought by the same person(s) who owns Cuba Libre. The food (tacos) seemed to have lost most of their flavor. The cost of two tacos (you can no longer buy just one taco) is now $12 compared to $4.90 per taco in 2024, 22% increase in one year. Yikes!! Despite these negatives, the servers and kitchen staff are extremely friendly and the atmosphere is still appealing. I just hope the staff got a 22% raise.

Great restaurant! Kid friendly, dog friendly and gluten free options! The service is usually quick. Margaritas are delicious ! We loved coming here !

I would rate this 0 stars if I could. Either they're scammers or their employees (no offense) have a total of one brain cell combined. Came for happy hour and got charged double because we weren't seated at the bar. Who else eats dinner at 4:30 pm... get real. Also, their guac tastes like the ones you buy at Giant. Safe to say I'm never coming back Xo

Food service at the bar was super fast at 5 on a Saturday, so that was a plus. I ordered, hit the bathroom, and came back to my food waiting for me. My pulled pork taco was decent. Not amazing. Not worth $5+ for sure. And the brussel sprouts sounded great but were dried out and not that tasty. So overall, just a so-so meal. Service could have been better. The bartender spent all her time talking to another customer at the bar, and seemed disinterested in helping me out. But it was a quick meal for me, so I shrugged it off.

If I would have known how magnificent Bomba tacos were, I'd been here a long time ago. I attempted to visit last weekend with my boyfriend around dinner time, but the wait time was outrageous so we were forced to find an alternative dinner spot. Today, however, we popped in a bit earlier and were seated right away. The one disappointing factor in all of this was that reservations were not able to be secured on OpenTable. We browsed the menu before visiting, and the one thing that caught my eye was the Spicy Peanut Salsa. I'm not into extremely spicy foods, but I can handle a little heat. The salsa did not disappoint - in fact, our server told us it was more of a peanut flavored sauce and she wasn't wrong. It tasted like the dipping sauce that comes with Summer Rolls. Definitely different, but very enjoyable. I loved the variety of tortilla chips, plantains and malanga that came with it. And now, a round of applause for the tacos. I went with The Plant Daddy which had plant based chorizo, mushrooms, pickled onions, pickled shishitos and the best part... a hard AND soft shell! It's pretty rare to come across this type of shell combination unless you do it yourself at home. It excited me, nonetheless. They were delicious and I should have gotten more than two. To share, we ordered Bomba fries. They reminded me of Old Bay fries, except they were seasoned with Adobo. My boyfriend ordered Carne Asada, Baja Shrimp and Smoked Piggy tacos. Of the three, his favorite was Carne Asada. Smoked Piggy came in second. Service was amazing and so was the ambiance. It's no surprise I loved Bomba, as it took me a minute to realize it's linked to Paladar Latin Kitchen, which I've visited and also loved. I'm going to leave this here: Don't hold off on visiting Bomba. It's our new go-to taco destination and yes, I will be bringing family and friends here.

Ate here on Saturday 12/27/24 around 8pm. Server was a white boy with facial hair...Kevin, Andrew, something like that. Here we go: Ambiance: A pub looking place. We were seated at a table in the greenhouse looking part of the place, but it was very warm even though it was freezing outside and all glass. FOOD: My wife and I thought the food was overall very good. We got chips with the Chile rojo salsa. Salsa was excellent, chips were mid, just like Moes. She got a ensalada mixta and added chicken; she really enjoyed it. I got 3 tacos (yard bird, blackened salmon, carne asada) and thought they were all excellent. Also for sides we got the French fries, beans/rice, and Chile lime cucumbers; all very good. Drinks: Not the highlight for sure. We each had a maple syrup old fashioned; very small volume and weak alcohol content. Then we each had a Hennessy and Diet; again, weak. We wanted tequila flights but these were not an option here. It should be; all Mex places should have tequila flights : ) Service: The worst part of the experience. Our Andrew/Kevin guy was very soft spoken. We asked for waters when we ordered our bar drinks. Spicy salsa/chips came but no drinks yet; we were dying. Bar drinks came but no waters. Reminded Andrew/Kevin for the waters. Food came out 5 minutes later, still no waters. We asked random food runner who I guess passed the message along when I specifically said 'we asked our waiter twice and he hasn't brought them". Came back once to check on us, which was fine. Brought us boxes and dropped check, but when collecting payment, did not pre-bus the dirty plates. Big no-no. Overall: Bill was about $100 even but we had plenty of food for day 2 so the value was ok. But for the watered down drinks and subpar service, this will not be a repeat. If we lived closer, this would be a great take-out option. Luckily we had a 'seize the deal' voucher which at least paid for one round of weak drinks.

OK. We know it's opening weekend so we are showing grace and prefacing that before the review. I'm sure they're working out kinks, but even with that said I don't think I'd come back. We had a party of 6 and waited ALMOST 2 hours for a table. I wish I was being dramatic, but I'm not I even double checked my texts from the waitlist - checked in at 1:30 and seating at 3:15. (Thank god there is an Ulta and Lulu around that we shopped around at). We also got some drinks and guac at the bar. The staff was hit or miss - our bartender at the bar was a gem and so was our waitress! The hostesses were in outer space and mostly rude. Once seated it took ~45 minutes for our food to come. Margaritas were okay and food was blah. You'd hope that if the service is shotty that the food would be good or vice versa but both were a miss. Tacos we liked: -gringo -Baja shrimp -Nashville hot chicken -tuna poke Tacos that we didn't like: -chicken - dry -smoky pig - dry We also got fries and Brussels, both meh. When you're at an establishment for cumulatively 4 hours it's just an exhausting experience. A side note we got 16 tacos and there was a taco ten pack for cheaper but the waitress told us NOT to order it because it would've taken longer??? Longer than 45 minutes? Also bizarre. That didn't sit right with me. Don't have it on the menu if you're going to tell us not to get it. It would've saved us money. Anyway this was my experience and based off it I do not recommend and most likely won't be back.

Great variety, I suggest getting a mixture of tacos so you can get a sense of what you like. Great take on some different type of tacos that you can't get anywhere. My favorites were the Nashville chicken, Vietnam meatball and birria tacos. I could eat thiseveryd

My first time here and I had to say I was pleasantly surprised with not only how fast the food service was but also with the quality and flavor of the food. My husband and father in-law went along with my toddler on a Friday night and had a great experience. We ordered the 3 special tacos, a cuban sandwich, black bean soup, yuca fries and a chicken quesadilla with guac+ chips for my toddler. Everything was delish! Only thing I would improve would be the margaritas! Everything else was great!

Visited Bomba bar last night and it was poppin and luckily we got two bar seats upon entering. It is deceivingly large inside, beautiful bar and it was spotless clean. Our bartender John was awesome. Attentive, friendly and an all around good guy. The drinks were fresh and tasty. The tacos were underwhelming. We ordered the ten pack and They took an hour to come out. Pretty long wait but No biggie I know it's very busy. I did have high expectations going in and every taco except the Nashville hot chicken was cold. So that was incredibly disappointing after paying $40 for 10 tacos. I'd like to try them again and give them another chance in the future. It is a great place to have a drink with friends.

Average at best. The pico de gallo was good but most of the tacos were disappointing to say the least. For a taco place these were sub par, what do you expect though, its a chain.

I've been here 3 times. Each time the tacos were yummy. You pay per taco but they are worth it. I usually get full off of 2-3. There's about 10-13 types? I've tried almost all of them. Highly recommend this place if you like a variety of taco options.

Had a great weekend which started at Bomba Taco of course! As always, amazing drinks and food!! Started off the night with the margarita pitcher which is always the way to go. Cowboy fries and the nachos for the table. First time trying the nachos with the queso and it did not disappoint. Also ordered the 10 pack of tacos as well. Sampled the Nashville hot chicken taco and the carne asada taco. The carne asada was a bit chewy but had a good flavor. The Nashville chicken was a good try too if you like some heat. Overall, had a good time and ate so much good food!!

Came around 8pm on a Sunday night. Not impressed. Ordered the Blackened Mahi Mahi taco & the Baja Shrimp taco. The Mahi Mahi was dry, thin & almost invisible. Can't even say if there was an once of fish is this dish. The shrimp in the Baja Shrimp taco was tough and rubbery. Both had flavor, not from the main food, but from all the condiment ingredients. I did enjoy the side of Coconut Mango Rice. My friends raved about this place having the best tacos. I guess that was lost on me. The service wasn't the best. The bartender was our server at our table. She spent most of her time socializing with the 1 customer at the bar. At least we were able to get refills of water when we got up from our table & went to the bar for that refill. I think I'll go elsewhere for my Tacos.

came here for HH with friends and had an OK time the food was mediocre at best but the drinks were decent. i got a banh mi taco which was pretty much a gentrified asian taco, it attempted to have the asian flavors but failed if anything i'd recommend coming here for chips, guac and drinks!

Have to say, Bomba Taco & Bar is a beautiful space. High industrial ceilings with black utilities, amazing bright pastel colors from top to bottom, more glass bottles around the bar than you can imagine, and eye catching wall murals that capture and hold your attention. Great design. But, what exactly is a "Bomba Taco?" Well, I'll be guessing, yet a little research suggests that Bomba is a Puerto Rican bailar rooted in the island's history of slavery, that has evolved into a cultural expression in music and dance that focuses on women in long flowing white dresses and men in white suits and hats, sashaying to the beat of barrel drums covered with stretched goat skin and string instruments from Spanish heritage. The Bomba is the barrel originally used to transport rum from the island to the rest of the Spanish world and for trade with the English in the 17th-18th Centuries. If you are curious how the tacos fit into this history, you are right to inquire. They don't, except in the creative minds of the developers of this foodie franchise. So, if you accept the premise that tacos and rum (and tequila) are natural partners, it is a small step to combine them into a new cultural affect, regardless of national origin. My two tacos (Carne Asado, The Yard Bird) were quite good, with the smallish tortilla unable to close around the filling and falling out with each bite. The ingredients were fresh with the flavor of the grilled steak, onion, cotija cheese and poblano pepper; and the chipotle marinated roast chicken, guacamole and pickled red onion, clear and distinct. At $4 per, a fair price. But, if you also wanted some special salsa or guac with them, the prices easily doubled. Again fresh and tasty, but no longer a reasonable value proposition. $8-10 for a undersized taco takes some getting used to, even with post Covid supply chain inflation. Throw a delicious fruity margarita into the mix and before you know it, you are spending serious money, especially if like me, you were only there for lunch. Once you adjust to the history, cuisine interplay and the cost structure, you can have a good time at Bomba, although the decibel level may also need a cooler note once the large outside doors open in warmer weather.

This taco place looks very cool from the outside. Inside has lots of seating but very loud more bar than restaurant vibe. That would be fine if the drinks were good. I am sorry to say the mixed drinks we had were not good at all. Watery and tasted premixed. If your drinking stick to the beer. The service was fine and prompt. Tacos were a mixed bag some were tasty others were way too wet or loaded with sauce.

Fun atmosphere, reasonable prices, fresh food, excellent bar drinks, great service! Checks every box! Can't wait to go back.

So let me preface with the fact that I absolutely love tacos, so I was pleasantly surprised with hearing that a new taco joint was coming to the area. We had wanted to go last week, but they're new and were having some tech issues so we weren't able to go, but things have been sorted and let me tell you... WELL WORTH THE WAIT. They opened Feb 18th I believe & this place is the perfect addition to Newtown. When we arrived I put my name on a list, told me it would be an hour. The one thing I noticed on the website is they had a waitlist coming soon, I hope that is added sooner than later. We just waited in the car, there are seats indoors and outdoors to wait but it was a little busy (as to be expected.) They text you when your table is available and to my surprise it was more like 30 min. Not too bad. The inside is very trendy/modern. Not really what you would think of for a taco joint but nice. The bathrooms are single and gender neutral. They also have a loyalty program that is free along with an app. If you're planning to visit often like me, it makes sense to get it. The kids meals are really great you get 2 sides, a main course, drink, and churros. The tacos are of normal size and delicious. I had gotten the smoked piggy, Carne asada, Nashville hot chicken (be warned this one is very hot!!) My favorite was the smoked piggy, I didn't like the Nashville because it was too spicy for me. I didn't have any alcohol so I cannot comment on that just washed my tacos down with a pineapple Jarritos. We also ordered the build your own guac, as well as the Yucca fries (so good!!) Everything overall was delicious. Our server was awesome too. Very accommodating for our large (yet picky) order. Decent price and be mindful while they may have other locations this is a new location for them. If you prefer not to wait, wait until they aren't so new to the area, give it a couple months maybe?

New spot that just opened up and heard good things about it. The place was pretty tiny but has a very nice interior with the bar on the side and all. So I had 6 tacos and they were pretty good but not the best tacos I've ever had. I didnt order any drinks but they have a lot of options to choose from. As for the dessert, the churros with the chocolate and marshmallow dip was absolutely amazing. My favorite tacos from this place was the yard bird, Baja shrimp and the Korean surf n turf. I would definitely come back to this place to try the other tacos on the menu and also their drinks.

Opened on 2/18 and I was there on 2/19 with a friend eating at the bar. Since this is a newly opened place the hype was high and the wait times for tables were anywhere from 1 hour to 2.5 hours. They did not take reservations but took names on a list and texted when the table was ready. So, if you plan on going during prime hours, and you are local, have someone come there first and put their name on the list, then take your time arriving. We were told 1.5-2 hours wait time for a table for 2 when we arrived at 6:30pm on a Saturday night. So, we decided to hang out for a few drinks at the bar and see how it goes. As expected, the bar was full with no seating and folks were having their meals at the bar. When two seats opened up, we grabbed them and decided to eat at the bar. The drink offerings here are very good. There are a sufficient number of tequilas to choose from as well as what looked like plenty of whiskeys. I really didn't dig deep into the offerings since I was going to have tequila but noticed Elijah Craig bottled on display. The wines are minimal, but they have the basics. The drafts are minimal too. When I asked why that was, the bartender explained that they were not permitted to compete with Ironhill Brewery next door, so they had to minimize their offerings. I did see a bunch of drafts on the list, so it's not like they don't have beers here. My margarita was very nicely balanced. I had mine with Hornitos reposado, and it had the slightly heavier body I like in my tequila drinks. Bartender also adjusted the salt on the rim for me. Overall, I really enjoyed my drink here. We had the following food: - Cauliflower Wings - deep fried, very nicely spicy - would definitely order again. - Guacamole - chips were greats, guac was on the smoother side (not chunky), mixed with cheese on top - it was OK, but I have had much better. Tacos (you order by the taco with about 10 various choices) - Ahi tuna taco - Was disappointed by this one. The cut of the fish was sporadic and unpleasant to me. Perhaps it was intentional, but it did not eat well. The mixture of the other items did not blend well, and it tasted like bland raw tuna in a soft wrap. I think if they do more of a tar tar with smaller more consistent cuts, mix/integrate the ingredients together, it would be a much more successful dish. - Nashville Hot Chicken Taco - This was decent. It's served with a larger crispy tortilla inside a soft taco. I would order it again. - Brussels Sprout Taco - This was great. The ingredients were cut into a size where they can integrate with every bit. I was very well done, and I could order just these and be very happy next time. The ambiance was great due to the mix of interior design and lively crowd. The interior is clean and modern without being overly dainty. The bar staff was great working as a team and always checking in to see if another drink was needed or asking how to food was. The usable bar itself was too small for the space in my opinion. However, when the weather gets better, they will open their outdoor space and the side of the bar facing the outdoor space so it should alleviate the lack of bar seats I felt last night. Overall, a clean, fun, and worthwhile casual space great for everyone. At this time, I would not go with a large group since it seems like it would be a hassle to get a table. Wait till things calm down. 100% will be back here.

We have had dinner here twice and both times the food was great! The service has been courteous and thoughtful. Coincidentally, we had the same server, Bella, both times who is extremely personable. Tacos are much bigger than you expect. The 10 for $40 is tough for us to eat as a group of 3. You definitely get great quality and quantity.

First timers here, we went to watch the Phillies play. Sat at the bar to eat, not drink to have a better view of the tv's. We got a little bit of everything and let me say, very average food, because their was barely any flavor at all. Wouldn't go back , going to find a different Mexican spot in town.

Back to Bomba after a while. Short version, it lost its way. I have to put this in context. I love the idea of Bomba. When I saw bomba was coming I was excited. When I first went to Bomba it was cool. Sort of good tacos and really good drinks. Well it changed. Service is fantastic, bar staff are wonderful. But . . . Drinks are average. Weaker, formulaic. They have been diluted. It's a low cost formula. The Rita's are now average, where they were once awesome. They still have a premium price, just not the content. This is challenging. Chips come now with salsa and queso in plastic tubs. Not China. Not reusable. No point having biodegradable straws in my Rita if my queso and salsa is in single use plastic. And it sends a certain 'we can't be bothered to serve you' pop the top off the mass produced slop, pop it in a microwave and you all good' vibe. It literally looks like they run to mcaffrey's for the dips, pop off the top and that's your salsa. Tacos were awful. Inedible. They now have a bed of cabbage in every taco. The menu doesn't say this. I don't like slaw or cabbage. Especially with hot meat because it throws water. So 3 tacos heated on cabbage with flour tacos in a metal tray and you pick up slime with slime. Wet tacos. Wet flour tacos. It's reflected in the bar crowd. It used to be a place to be, hang out, meet people. You waited, fought, positioned for a seat. No worries now, you can get a seat. It's all first dates trying somewhere new and my I need a bar with the baseball on scene. So sad. So disappointed. Bomba could be fantastic. It's become awful, through a series of cuts and nicks and changes that just make it unpleasant. That's why it's half empty. We won't be back. It's an extra star for the lovely staff. Who will be fine. Newtown does not have good Mexican. Bomba should fill that space. It doesn't. It used to. It's disappointing.
