The 26 Best Restaurants In Mumbai - Mumbai - The Infatuation

"In India, each state and region has its own local drinking culture and accompanying snacks. Bombay Daak, from the Ekaa team, attempts to celebrate them all. This music-and chatter-filled, dive bar-inspired Bandra West restaurant brings in the flavors of daaru-chakna (booze and munchies) from Coorg to Kashmir, Nagaland to Jaipur, Bihar to Goa—you get the drift. Turn on auto-Shazam to borrow the bouncy playlist before taking your free shot of bird-eye chilli wine. We follow ours with a Santra Season infused with pickles and chutneys, and then dig into the artful, soul-curing sharing plates. Our standard order: The Hot Gram with three types of pulses, peanuts and pineapple, Bhuna tongue roast with brown onion emulsion and fresh dill, delightfully cartilaginous chicken and rasam, and housemade Luncheon Meat in a retro spam tin." - roshni bajaj sanghvi

Always the best time here. The birds eye chilli wine is to die for. It’s a drink that doesn’t hit you instantly but grows on you slowly giving you the best trip ever. Combine that with the bombil fry and you’re golden. Also recommend Desi for all the whiskey lovers out there and Pahadi if you’re looking for something light and refreshing. Music is top notch old school Bollywood obviously. The rabbit and tangra town wontons are a delight to your taste buds. To end with dessert, go for the Feni Cashew ice cream; don’t second thought it.

Big fan of Chef Niyati, so this visit was long overdue! I’d built up an image of Bombay Daak in my head over time—and while it turned out different, it definitely didn’t disappoint. The vibe? Unmatched. Think indie-retro bar with killer music. Cocktails weren’t quite my jam (a bit on the savoury side), but they pack a boozy punch—so no complaints there. The chakna? Quirky, creative, and fun—exactly what you’d hope for. Pricing is little on the higher side, but it’s justifiable for the service & quality Food was spot on. Flavorful, comforting Already planning my next visit.

EXPERIENCE! Thats all i would say about this place. Its a bloody experience. The food, the staff, the drinks everything is just an experience. Would suggest to sit at the bar top and watch your drink be made! Tell Saumit and Prakash your poison and they will make the best cocktail you have ever tasted!!! Thank you guys for the experience 🫡

Has the best night at Bombay Daak. The birdseye chili wine and Santra were delicious. As was the Pork and Smoke, Duck Puff and watermelon rind achaar. Can't wait for my next visit! Highly recommend

The space transitions beautifully and is definitely a highlight of the experience at Bombay Daak. The sun roof, the all glass facade, adds a wonderful charm to the cosy space. The open kitchen also made 10/10 would recommend if you’re feeling a bit bougie and want to impress your date. It’s tucked away enough for it to be a discovery, but also buzzing to not feel like you’re the only people to discover it- a balance that’s so rare. We ordered quite a few things from the menu, but the highlight of it all were two things: the Pork & Smoke, which was the best thing I’ve tried in a while. Really smoky, succulent, meal-in-your-mouth bits of pork belly, over a mash, and layered with spices, herbs, a little bits of funk. So, so satisfying. If you eat pork, don’t miss it! The other highlight was the Rasam inspired cocktail- blew our collective socks off. Such a refined cocktail, and so seasonable. Despite the impressive technique, it didn’t feel over intellectual and genuinely had a rasam after taste. The rest was fine, nothing to write home about. But definitely worth frequent visits (if you can get a spot!)

Where do I even begin? The vibe, obviously. Imagine a dive bar, but it decided to clean up its act and look classy for once. That’s Bombay Daak. I’m a sucker for dive bars, and this one just gets it. Dark, moody, but still modern enough to make you go “okay, this is cool.” And the music, oh the music. In true Bangalore fashion, they dropped “Santhoshake,” that was it. I was emotionally invested. Now the food, let me tell you, they had me at Shikaar Ka Achaar. Rabbit preserve in some mango-pickle-style masala, served with pav. I’m not exaggerating when I say I could eat that every day and still not get bored. The rest of the food was great too, but that rabbit? Unreal. And then came Whistle Podu, a gin-based rasam cocktail. I know, sounds like chaos in a glass, but it worked. Refreshing, a little spicy, and very “what the hell, why is this so good?” kind of moment. Service? Quick, friendly, and totally on point. In short, go to Bombay Daak. Eat, drink, vibe. Thank me later (preferably with a Whistle Podu in hand).

A little review so you are prepared if you decide to go. 1. The welcome shot and the a tiny bite was a nice touch. 2. Cool concept, nice ambience 3. Reservation is required. We went on a Wednesday at 6, the place started getting busy 7 onwards, and we were give a 3 hour limit on our table. 4. Prices We spend 7k between 2 people for 4 drinks + 4 chakna bites. The place was introduced as an elevated version of a dive bar and cocktails were priced between 800-950 a drink, and chakna was aproxx 500. 5. Chakna The bombil fry was really good. The other items were a miss as the main ingredient was lost in all the fuss. We ordered the tongue- the tongue itself tasted good, but the dressing/ condiments was more than 50% of the dish. The fried chicken - ok spam - the dressing was very overpowering and did not compliment it. 5. Very small space Seating a bit too close to each other. Every time a person wanted to step out, we had to move our table or their ass would be on our table. Would I return? No, not worth the prices of drinks if I have to keep adjusting my table for people to move.

Picante was yum. Dim lighting, solid cocktails, didn’t end up eating anything so can’t comment on the food, but had 5 of the same cocktails. Not sure if this is the move for a quiet date though, place has energy. Also, they randomly play Bollywood and it kinda works.
