Bombay Delight - Wimbledon Review - Wimbledon - London - The Infatuation

"We can’t think of a single person we could bring to Bombay Delight who would leave unhappy. There's a spacious, colourful, cushion-filled dining room, a fresh fish cart that’s wheeled over to the table, and a jovial happy birthday chorus happens at least a couple of times every night. This Wimbledon spot, with its buzzy feelgood atmosphere and excellent Indian dishes (we’re fans of the tender chicken tikka trio and the creamy butter chicken curry), is a local favourite for celebrations of any kind. On particularly lively nights, tables next to each other strike up conversations, passing excess birthday cake to their neighbours, and realising that it’s well past closing time. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch" - Rianne Shlebak

Simply MIND BLOWING!!! We had a limited items at this location (1st timers), but everything we ordered was AMAZING!!! The Vada Pav was awesome, but the Dabeli took us back to Mumbai. The Misal Pav was to die for and my wife and I licked the last drop from the container! >100%, we are going back to try other items! (Pics are after we hogged on one each)

The place looks really clean, the service is good and the food was really good. Vada pav 5/5 Medium is very spicy for me but my Indian friends really enjoy it! Potatoes and Peas Samosa 5/5 Dahi Puri 5/5 the filling was well done (balanced) Chicken 65 3.5/5 I like it but my friend says it’s just OK and maybe a little sweeter than expected

I ordered Chicken 65 and sugarcane juice. Honestly, it was a letdown. The Chicken 65 was nothing like the authentic version — they tossed oversized fried chicken pieces into a tomato chutney with mustard seeds, which tasted completely off. The sugarcane juice was also disappointing; for $6, the small glass didn’t taste like sugarcane at all but more like ginger juice. Definitely not worth the price.

This place is amazing! We’ve tried countless restaurants, even around Hillcroft, but this one is the most authentic and satisfying. The dahi puri is always our favorite...refreshing, with crisp sev, chutneys, and yogurt bursting with flavor. The dosa is perfectly crispy and comes with delicious coconut chutney, tangy tomato chutney, and hearty sambar. On top of the great food, the owner is super friendly and clearly cares about quality. Highly recommend!

Delicious food, friendly people, good value. Always get take out and have never dined in so can’t comment on that experience, other than to say that the ambiance is that of a small, simple mom and pop strip center restaurant. Clean, orderly, smells good, but simple. Everything is wonderful but the Papdi Chaat and all naan selections are especially delicious

I’m Vegan! Let’s start there lol! The woman who I’m assuming was the owner or one of them was very knowledgeable about which items were vegan and which weren’t. Already starting off on a high note. I ended up ordering the Dal Tadka (yellow curry lentils) and OMG JUST AMAZING! So flavorful and perfect consistency. It came with rice (not a fan of the rice), but I also ordered roti which was perfect with it!!!! We also had the samosas which were delicious! Next time I’m in, I’d love to try the Dosas! Service was A-1, she checked on us multiple times and even offered suggestions on how you enhance the flavors like adding a hint of lime and boy was it even more delicious. And for all the food we got, the price was not bad! The only issue with the atmosphere were a couple flies flying around which can be quite annoying. Maybe invest in a fly trap of some sort. With the door opening and closing consistently, it can be difficult to control.

I tried the Mysore Masala Dosa and boy was it good! The consistency of the crepe was crispy on the outside, slightly chewy within and a lovely golden brown in color. The potato filling was perfectly seasoned and had a mild to medium spice level. The Dosa came with three dipping sauces which included an outstanding Sambar soup which I finished off after eating the dosa. I don't know what the other two sauces were but they were pretty good also. If I was not such a dosa fanatic, I may consider ordering a biryani dish upon my next visit because this seemed to be the most popular dish amongst other diners which looked both appetizing and of a generous portion size. The fact that I was the only non-asian diner may suggest that the food was not only tasty but authentic too. I tend to prefer traveling to the Hilcroft area whenever I crave a good dosa or south Indian cuisine in general, but the dosa here was pretty much on the same level as anything I would find in that part of town so I appreciate having such a legitimate option at a fraction of the drive. Plus, Bombay Delight was a significantly cleaner and more inviting ambiance than some of my favorite dosa spots around the Hilcroft area.
