"Gandhi Fine Indian Cuisine serves up seriously solid classics. This place might not look like much, but believe us, it's the real deal. They've won a bunch of awards for their Chicken Tikka Masala, and their garlic naan is the stuff dreams are made of. It's BYOB so grab a bottle of wine and enjoy!" - Erin Mercurio & Jak Horner

I ordered the lamb curry and garlic naan. AMAZING. It was delicious and super tender. The service with quick and pleasant and I only spent $20. I would definitely come back here

This location is my family and I favorite Indian spot. We order from here once or twice a month. 90% of the time, our food is on point. There have been a few times our soup wasn't as tasty, or we barely received chicken in our meal. But the customer service is always to keeping the customers pleased.

Google
Is a really great place! Is not the first time I come here, gentle service, great flavor and very fair price! At midday you get 25%off and they invite me a super delicious desert! It was like rice and milk but maybe with some mango flavor I am not sure. I ate butter chicken, their naan bread and the pani poori is super crispy and delicious as appetizer. 💚💚💚

Ordered delivery and food arrived hot and fresh. The puri I got was still hot and puffed, packaged well. The dough was a little sweet The Mughlai paratha was delicious! It was just keema, no egg or chili but tasty. The dough was a little raw at one part in the inside while the outside was oily and crisp The curry chicken was okay. Very sweet. So so sweet. I even asked them to not make it sweet but I’m guessing it’s in the base of their sauce so they can’t make it lesser. Samosa chaat was good, wish there was more samosa but maybe I’m greedy for that Tandoori chicken was well cooked and juicy but bland for my taste. Food was fresh but overall sweet and less spiced for American palettes. I understand why but when missing home food and too tired to cook, these dishes miss the mark. I will definitely order again tho for the Mughlai paratha alone…I really like the keema!!

Google
Really enjoyed the food here. Visiting from out of town and thought I’d try the local Indian. Fell in love with the lamb achari - I had it three times in the same week 😂 hope to be back in future.

Google
In person, great experience. Ordering out, different story. The staff is rude, made up a story about the delivery guy getting into an accident, and took 2 hours to send out the food. You will be losing my business 👎

Yasmin S

Google
I’ve been going here for 9+ years and it still tastes as good as the first time I had it! Amazing food, great quality, kind service, hands down the best Indian food in my opinion and I’ve ate at countless restaurants. Samosa Chaat, Chicken Tikka Masala and Firni dessert are my favs!!

Google
I will still give 3 stars because of great service, good quality of ingredients/food and friendly staff. Now on to my disappointment/criticism: Indian food isn't supposed to taste sweet!! Especially the tikka from the tandoor. For someone who isn't used to much spicy food even I felt it bland and on top of it was sweet. In addition, the raita is supposed to be a savory yogurt sauce , was sweet too!! I want Indian food to taste earthy, organic and spicy! Instead it tastes like cheap Italian tomato pasta sauce (no offense to Italian food). I understand restaurants try to cater to western palates and miss the authenticity here. But completely changing a dish and it's flavors is criminal!

Yelp
I ordered takeout from here for pick up. For appetizers, I enjoyed the vegetable samosas. Fried, flaky, and flavorful, they are always a great pick. We also got the samosa chaat. I've had better versions of this dish elsewhere. The chopped samosa was mushy rather than crispy and lacked the typical richness. I ordered paneer tikka masala, but they gave us chicken tikka masala instead. That was a big disappointment and surprising for a restaurant that I would expect to be very vegetarian-friendly. We also got saag paneer and I found it quite bland. Their butter naan was very fluffy, but dry. Overall, a filling but unsatisfying meal.

Dave D.

Yelp
I was excited to try out this neighborhood Indian spot as it had pani poori on its menu. I ordered takeout and it took about 30 minutes for the food, despite saying it would take 15 minutes. Along with the pani poori, I ordered the paneer pakora, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan. The pani poori was very sweet and had a potato filling inside, which isn't typical for pani poori, overall very disappointing. Garlic naan was just that, garlic on naan but it wasn't buttery and dry. Chicken tikka masala was very tomato-ey and was very watered down. The only good thing about my order was the fact that they had provided a ton of chutneys. It's a fine takeout spot if you're in the neighborhood but I don't think I'd come back unless I was really fiending for Indian food and too lazy to go elsewhere.

Chino G.

Yelp
Butter chicken wasn't as spicy as I expected it to be. I only expected that because I've only eaten a microwave version of it. Overall it we very creamy, thick with a little sweetness. Service was okay, but the individual taking could have been friendly. The man didn't even smile and say have a nice day or anything. Took 20mins for a take out order. I doubt I'll try this place again

Inderjit S.

Yelp
Very bad service don't go there they don't know how to cook food just give u frozen food

Lily C.

Yelp
Aloo Papri was good--flavorful and crispy. The butter chicken weirdly tasted sweet and cheesy. Honestly, Trader Joe's has better butter chicken.

Angela Y.

Yelp
As with many Indian food places in Brooklyn, this place was fine but not amazing. Curries tasted good when thought of as it's own dish, but when compared with more authentic Indian food they lacked flavor and spice. The vegetable curry had a lot of vegetables which was nice, but the lamb curry tasted a little too sweet and one dimensional. The samosa chat was okay but a little too soggy and not super flavorful. We did order everything as takeout though so everything probably taste better in store.

Tobias M.

Yelp
Tried for the THIRD time tonight to eat a meal at this establishment and was turned away yet again. Google says they close at 10:29 I walked in at 9:15 and was just told I couldn't sit down and have a meal.

Daniel G.

Yelp
Fantastic food. My partner and I decided to go out because of some cravings for Indian food, and this place hit the spot. The tandoori chicken and mango lassi were hands down the best I've ever tasted. The butter chicken wasn't as spicy as I expected, but in terms of richness and creaminess it was out of this world. Great vibes too, highly recommend staying in. Will definitely be coming back!

Paige D.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in Brooklyn. The staff is so incredible and the food is always amazing. We've brought so many friends and out of towners here and they all agree is incredible. They're always slammed (so you know it's good) and if wait time is long, they'll bring you a little somethin' to snack on. Could not recommend this place more. It's amazing! Highly recommend the aloo mutter gobi or the mulligatawny soup.

Mina S.

Yelp
UGHHHHH SO GOOD. They did not skimp on the portions at all. Fair prices and great quality. Best tandoori chicken I've had in years. Definitely try the cheese naan and mango lassi!! Friendly staff and the whole place had a great, cozy vibe. Definitely eat in when you have the chance.

Erin C.

Yelp
Takeout for two. Got the tikka masala and shrimp saag with garlic naan, plus a mango lassi (a must if it's on the menu for me!) All was pretty tasty to me but I'm no expert on Indian food. I loved the rich flavors and will definitely try this place again!

Nick P.

Yelp
I just moved to bed stuy a few months ago and I haven't found many Indian restaurants with great food like this. Every time I order I get the butter chicken or the shrimp malai. The naan bread is fire. Five stars, Would recommend for a "middle of the week" date. The atmosphere ain't bad at all.

Harshita Govind G.

Yelp
Kashimiri pulao had canned fruits ....was a nightmare. Dal makhani was too red but tasted okay. very cheap prices. good with some chicken options but worst with vegetarian food.

Khanh N.

Yelp
I've passed this place so many times and have been meaning to try it so I finally did on an especially cold day yesterday -- wanted some spices to warm me up. They've cleared away their outdoor dining space from the summer and fall so I recommend doing pickup or delivery from them! Was craving butter chicken so I ordered that, and was also intrigued by all the different naan varieties they had to offer. Chicken tikka naan sounded too interesting to let it slide so I added that to my order. Definitely did not disappoint. Cracking open the container for the butter chicken had the butter floating upwards, a yellow spool in orange, like a yolk -- so I knew it would be good. Rice and sauce were packed separately so the rice wouldn't get soggy, too. While the chicken wasn't standout, the sauce was so buttery and creamy, exactly what I was looking for, that it more than made up for it. Definitely my go-to. The naan was an interesting flavor, though a bit dry for my taste. Portions were amazing. Sauces they came with were excellent as well. Would recommend calling in advance to place your order -- we were walk ins and waited outside to mitigate pandemic risk, and it was a significant wait to get our food. Understandable since they seemed quite busy -- several delivery people cycled in and out as we waited -- so order in advance to cut down on some of that wait time.

Paige H.

Yelp
Bombay Heights is one of our favorite restaurants in the neighborhood. I'm not exaggerating when I say there was a period where we ate it once a week The food always hits and the staff is so so so friendly. We've taken multiple friends and out-of-towners and they've all loved it. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Judah M.

Yelp
I walk by this place pretty often and ain't never walked in. One day I was like fuck it and decided to try it. A bih was surprised. I walked inside and it was much larger than I thought. I was hella empty because most of the orders seems to be delivery which they had alot of orders come through. I wanted for about 20 minutes so you know they really cook the food and don't just throw it in microwave. I got the Chicken Tandoori and the Gobi Manchurian. The names sounded interesting...I still don't know what Gobi is but it hit lowkey. It was fresh, a lil bit spicy with lots of flavors....sometimes I like my chicken a lil dry...don't judge me..I like what I like. I would definitely go back, the food kinda heavy though if ya know what I mean.

M H.

Yelp
Favorite Indian spot in the neighborhood! Delicious food, consistent quality for YEARS since the previous location across the avenue, and the staff is very sweet. The quality of the white chicken in the tikka masala is very good... I am picky about chicken if it's ever grizzly and this place always uses lean white meat that tears away nicely in the sauce will continue ordering here for years.

Dariana P.

Yelp
Ordered the butter chicken. Was actually really good, but half way into eating i felt something strange in my mouth. I sort of spat it out and it was this. :/

Reshard R.

Yelp
If the number of times that grubhub called out in the intercom is any indicator, this place is rocking! While it was empty, as most restaurants seek to be this holiday weekend, it didn't mean that walk ins were not welcome. And when you taste the food you know why. The crispy outer layer of the samosas and the yummy onion chutney make this place a go to spot for the quick indian food you need. Combined with papadam and sides this place hits all the flavor needs. Now, if you don't mind me... I'm just going to lay down in a food coma and be happy.

Sincere j.

Yelp
Will meet your needs. They're reliable with flavors portions and delivery time. Chicken korma meal is my go to.

Liz F.

Yelp
I was sadly disappointed in this Indian food. I ordered the combo of one appetizer, one entree and naan for 17.95, which I thought was a little pricy to begin with. I got the vegetable samosas and Chana masala. I also ordered a mango lassi. The mango lassi saved the meal because the rest was not great. The samosas were okay, but nothing to write home about. The naan was weirdly undercooked and doughy, so it was chewy in a way I've never experienced with naan. The Chana masala had so much coriander in it that I couldn't finish it. It was super lemony tasting and the coriander seeds were overwhelming to a point I couldn't taste the other flavors. All in all I wouldn't order from them again.

Katie G.

Yelp
The food is decent enough, nothing special. But I hope you don't order for delivery. You might be waiting more than 2 hours! And don't bother calling to ask where your food is after those two hours. They will just tell you "10 minutes" every time you call. If you ask if they have even made the order yet, they will just hang up on you. We crossed this place off our list permanently.

Christopher T.

Yelp
This place is good. I ordered from them all the time. They always made great Indian food, however after this and my last and this experience I regret to say it will be my last. Last order I had the app and entree deal with chicken vindaloo. I know how spicy vindaloo is. They sent something that was not edible. It was intentional. I was a sous for years. No one makes anything that spicy unless they're trying to prove something or just don't know what they're doing. I called and complained and told them the same information I just gave you. They offered me a $50 discount on my next order and said they'd make it up to me, as I ordered from them all the time. Flash forward 3 weeks. I go to redeem my grievance and they say that's ridiculous and it was 50% off. That doesn't take the burning shits I had away for two days. All I wanted was the $18.95 app and entree deal and they couldn't make good on that. I felt the need to say something cause this place is full of shit. Go to Bombay Grill. It's cheaper and there's no need for this hassle. Bottom line is, if you want real Indian food in Brooklyn, learn to make it yourself.

Runal P.

Yelp
Got Gobi Manchurian for $5 Tastes horrible -- like a whole bunch of ketchup that is smoked. No flavor. Do not get this item here at all.

Natalie J.

Yelp
This place is good! I am actually a total regular at this place. They sort of know and my family already. I get the crab mali, or chicken tikka masala or the spinach sag. Delicious. I try to stay away or else they will take all my money hahah Dinning their is better if you're a first timer. Would not recommend take out...maybe after a few rounds. The place does not get crowded so its a nice place for a date or family outing so ypu can actually hear what people are talking about.

Marina H.

Yelp
Disappointed and annoyed. I live only a few blocks away, and the order took over an hour to deliver. Tikka masala tastes like a bland tomato sauce Garlic naan dry and tough Fail

Jacqueline Z.

Yelp
My favorite Indian spot in the neighborhood! I've done take out but particularly like dining in. Nice ambiance good music videos playing for your entertainment. Great food and great service. Shamim and the rest of the staff are great. BYOB - a plus!

Jacob K.

Yelp
I placed an order at 6:30pm for 1 appetizer, 2 mains, and a naan. The person taking my order on the phone said it would be 40-50 minutes. After waiting over an hour I called back to ask for an update. The person who answered apologized and said they were busy, while assuring me the food would arrive in 10-15 minutes. I waited another 35 minutes (total wait of 1hr 45 min by now) and called back only to be given the same "were busy" answer. I'd rather be told off the bat that they're busy than continuously told to wait longer. Never ordering from here again.

Skye S.

Yelp
Love this gem of a spot! Delivery is always quick, the food arrives warm and it's always delicious. I recommend the samosas, the saag chicken, the tandoori chicken and pretty much the entire menu. I always ask for extra mint chutney and they never forget. Highly recommend!

Dee J.

Yelp
Love this place; the food and staff are exceptional and I always leave trying to figure out why I don't go more often. They have a large menu and everything is fresh and flavorful. They do a large takeout and delivery business, which means that the dining area is never crowded or loud, both rarities in Brooklyn (and NYC as a whole). The aforementioned staff is attentive, polite and laid back, without being invisible, and they're always in a good mood. There's another Indian restaurant within walking distance, but there's never a question which one we'll be going to.

Navit F.

Yelp
delicious!!! ordered their tiki masala + garlic nan 10/10 will definitely be coming back! They have great specials daily and 25% off lunch.

Symone H.

Yelp
Always great food! I love the Salmon Tikka and vegetable Samosas from the lunch special. I recommend you order in advance so you don't have to wait to pick up the order

Heather K.

Yelp
Unless you enjoy mediocre food and abusive behavior, I suggest you avoid this place at all costs. I ordered from this restaurant over 2 hours ago, got a text message one hour ago telling me my order was on the way, and when I called the restaurant to ask if it was close the guy abruptly hung up on me. Said nothing, and just hung up. I called back, thinking it was a mistake, and he said "It's snowing" and hung up on me again. I tried calling back to cancel the order and he answered saying "Still snowing" and hung up yet again. He hung up immediately every time I tried calling after that. This is hands down the worst customer service I have ever received by any restaurant. Yes, I am aware it is snowing. We live in NY, it snows here. I understand being backed up on a night like tonight, but the way this was handled was unnecessary and absolutely abysmal. I certainly would not trust a person like this to handle my food. I did end up canceling this order through a third-party, but have ordered from this restaurant in the past and can also attest that their food is really nothing special, just convenient and local. I have also had problems with late deliveries in the past, and rude behavior, but this is the first time it's been so over the top that I've been prompted to write a review on it. I will absolutely never order from this restaurant again. Good riddance.

Francesca R.

Yelp
This was my first time in there... And it was a delight! Their food was fresh and savory! It fit all of the desires I had for my New Year's! I would definitely recommend this to a friend!!!!

Erik S.

Yelp
Doesn't look like much when you walk past, but I was practically dying of hunger so I popped in. The definition of a hole-in-the-wall. I got the regular hamburger and wow... there are no words. A classic matter paneer done right. Crisp cheese, juicy peas, creamy sauce for days. There's about a million options available between the menu board and daily specials of specials, so it can get a little overwhelming, but you really can't go wrong. Not much else to say besides go see for yourself! You won't be disappointed.

Dweam G.

Yelp
We had been ordering here every few weeks since moving to Brooklyn about a year ago. Then, last month, we ordered our usual and the order was 1 hour and 45 late. That was bad enough, but anyone can have an off day. I called the restaurant several times and they seemed annoyed that I was inquiring. No apology, no sympathy just trying to rush me off of the phone. When the food showed up, it was cold. We were so hungry by then that we heated up the saucy orders in the microwave in the plastic containers they came in. I served my teen some rice and chicken and as she was almost finishing her plate, there was a short coarse hair in the sauce...yuck!!! I called Seamless since we had ordered through them and they then called the restaurant who refused to do anything about it. After calling several times just on principle, they refunded us $7 off of a $40 order + tip. Seamless then sent us some online coupons to make up some of the difference. I was not only repulsed by the way the food came in, but totally disappointed at their lack of willingness to accept responsibility for their own negligence and their arrogant attitude when they were just plain wrong. Needless to say we are never ordering from them again!!!

Grace P.

Yelp
Whenever I need a pick me up I go here. Their lunchboxes are a great deal and the food is so full of flavor. I've never been disappointed by this place

Sherrel F.

Yelp
This place is a respectable Indian Restaurant. The food was delicious. I ordered the shrimp madras. It had some nice whole chillies, the mango pickle, and a nice thick gravy. I was expecting it to be a little spicy and it wasnt but that was ok. The side chutneys included were good and I used them to kick it up. However, For $16 there were only 4 shrimp and the "rice pudding" was basically liquid. I would come here again, . . . Sometime. . . cause the food is well prepared, but it is not worth the price, imho.

Maya A.

Yelp
Never ordering from here again. Have been waiting for 2.5+ hrs and no hope in sight of when the food will arrive. Called twice to check on it and was told 15 minutes. Just called to cancel and was told they would need to let us know in five minutes. Worst customer service experience.

Jordana R.

Yelp
For me this is the most reliable Indian food in the area. I've never been to the restaurant itself but delivery is always on time and everything I've ever had has been delicious. The food usually arrived lukewarm if not cold, but nothing a couple minutes in the microwave can't fix. It's a huge menu and very reasonably priced. The portion sizes are also pretty hearty compared to some other places in the area. The sauce-to-meat ratio in their entrees is perfect and they actually give you a good amount of rice for your order. I was also really excited to see that the Paneer Pakora for only $3.50 was a good sized serving! I also recommend trying the coconut samosas. I was nervous they'd be a little too dessert-like but they were perfect! After dipping it in the complimentary brown sauce (which is a little spicier than usual) it was perfectly savory! The only thing I've tried that was disappointing was the Tikka Masala Naan. I tried it just out of curiosity and while I guess it has Tikka Masala Sauce baked into it, I didn't notice too much of a difference from their regular Naan.

Donna P.

Yelp
The food is mediocre. I ordered mushroom soup; which was my favorite thing in my order. I ordered chicken tandoori. One of the pieces was delicious, and the other one felt undercooked. It left a strange taste or rawness in my mouth, and now I'm scavenging for something sweet. This is the first time that this occured, and I hope that it's corrected in the future. Also, they need to be mindful when delivering liquids, because 1/3 of my soup spilled out into the bag, and I was left with a greasy mess on all of the containers. When ordering please remember to ask for uteniciles if you are not eating at home. They do not include napkins, uteniciles, or comfortable eating containers for most items.

Shivani P.

Yelp
One of my favorite parts about traveling to NYC for work is checking out all the amazing Indian restaurants we are a little deprived of in Chicago. I ordered shrimp vindaloo ($13.95) with brown rice subbed in for white rice ($1) off of seamless for dinner one night. The food arrived just a little later than expected, and was packed really neatly. No spills! On the downside, they didn't include any cutlery or plates or tissues. I wonder if we have to specifically ask for those. The vindaloo was spicy but not overwhelmingly so. It was packed wih flavor and the potatoes really help cut through the heat. The shrimp was fresh and marinated really well. The meal was served with tamarind-date and coriander chutneys and there was even a saffron rice kheer which really helped alleviate the flames in my mouth. Nice touch! The portion was perfect for one person. I'll definitely order from here again. I'd love to check out the rest of their menu!

Venessa K.

Yelp
Excellent Indian restaurant in the neighborhood. I have one closer to the house and continue to drive to this location. The workers here are most accommodating and see. To love what they do. The food is not overly spicy it very tasty. I can't recommend this place enough. I have never tasted a bad dish in this location. Everything is good here.

Nandita K.

Yelp
The food is mediocre at best. I ordered delivery and while the portions are generous the food lacks flavor. The okra was mushy, butter chicken bland, and the aloo gobi was runny. At least the delivery was prompt.

Rose W.

Yelp
This place is great! I always pick up food here and the staff is always warm and welcoming.

Ajay W.

Yelp
My regular place for some good Indian food. Quality is always solid and tasty. I try to order food from them once a month.

Angelica R.

Yelp
So happy to have found such a great Indian place in the neighborhood! Both the chicken and paneer tikka masala are really yummy, as are the vegetable samosas. Have never been, but it's our go to delivery spot.

Sara M.

Yelp
some of the best indian food i've ever had!! recommend the samosas and the malai kofta:)

Tosh K.

Yelp
Ordered delivery about two hours ago, still waiting... I mean, I could have gone grocery shopping, maybe grabbed a drink, bought a cookbook, and taught myself how to make the food by now. The one star is assuming the food is any good. Do they apologize? Nope. Do they try and find out where the delivery guy is? Nope. Too many other choices to ever try Bombay Heights again. And to top it off this tikka masala is rather different than previous versions, not in a good way.

Tonia T.

Yelp
Delicious as always but then again I haven't eaten any Indian food that wasn't I've been lucky
