The Best Restaurants in Parc-Extension (Parc-Ex) | Eater Montreal

"This Jean-Talon favourite prepares staples from bhaji to butter chicken and everything in between. Go for the lunch specials, most of which fall under $10 for plates of curry, tikka, and kebab." - Mallory Frayn

The Best Montreal BYOB Restaurants | Eater Montreal

"Montreal’s near-consensus favourite Indian restaurant is a BYOB. Service is infamously erratic but remarkably generous portions offer top bang for your buck. Take note: Punjab Palace, Bombay Mahal’s unofficial Park Ex rival, is also a BYOB." - Holly Tousignant

Quality and Quantity is up to mark. Service is quick. Freshly made authentic food. Only lacking in ambience. Doesn’t even have enough sitting room. But then, we went for good food and it was not disappointing.

Usually I like Bombay Mahal food, especially in person, but I ordered Palak Paneer from uber eats today, and there was a weird foam on top, I still tried a little and it did not taste the same as I am used to.

It’s not fancy food, but it’s good. The place looks like it’s been due for renovations for a while, but it’s clean which to me is most important. You’ll definitely be waiting a bit on busier nights, but they’re very good at providing accurate estimates for how long you’ll be waiting, and I've never, not once, waited for no reason, once food is ready they waste no time putting it in a bag and giving it to the customer. It’s well priced, especially if you’re going into the restaurant to order and not going through an app, good food, and they’re always nice. Their Aloo Gobi and lamb curry are among my favourites, and the flavours are always consistent. They’re my go to when I don’t feel like cooking, and they’re part of why I’ll miss the neighborhood so much when I move soon.

I’m reviewing based on my experience ordering from Uber Eats. Never had a bad experience, portions are perfect size and everything always tastes fresh. My orders are always quick, packaged well, and delicious. Great value for the prices.

Incredible Indian food for vegetarians and for meat eaters. AMAZING price. The value, quality, the care and service by the staff. The food was served beautifully, hot, generous portion. I love that they have soup and appetizers and so much variety. Will come here again and again. Highly recommend 💙👍🏻 PS - the garlic naan was incredible and I actually prefer how thin and crispy it was unlike some reviews. One order was enough for two people and was only 3 or so dollars.

I wager I've tried upwards of 50 Indian restaurants and have dabbled in the kitchen with more than a few Indian recipes as well. Bombay Mahal is one of the worst Indian restaurants I've ever tried. There was no paneer in the Palak Paneer, they gave us roti instead of naan which was dreadful and the chicken in the chicken curry was dry whilst the consistency of the curry resembled more of a broth or soup. The pictures of the dishes on Uber Eats differed drastically to what we received. I called the restaurant and spoke to the owner and she gave me some song and dance about recipes being different at different restaurants. She said the paneer was shredded and the naan was "unique" (it was in fact roti). I challenge anyone to find me a curry recipe where the paneer is shredded opposed to being cubed. I'm always reticent to leave a negative review on Google Reviews and haven't left many, but this experience definitely warranted negative feedback. Avoid this place like the plague!

After long guts finally I am writing this review to let the management know to update the serving system. I have been a genuine customer since the past 3 year for dine in as well as take out. But past couple of months probably 1 month the takeout system has been the worst. Like I really mean it if you order Tandoori Chicken Plate, Chicken tikka plate , seekh kabab plate ( told not available more than 4-5 times), chicken wrap) either in morning or evening the wait is always for 30-35minutes which is like crazy. And also I order 8 naan for takeout over call the lady who took order ask me to be there around 20 min and the guy preparing the naan bread gave her the naan after 30-35 minute when I reach there even it was not rush time. Also the naan the garlic is less and the regular naan is not baked properly if you take out next day it hurts the stomach as it is half uncooked and burnt (not uploading the photo just to save you) Just want to let management know that change the person who bakes naan and dishes for naan oven because you are loosing your genuine customer .I appreciate the lady who works in front who manages the customers and she is always sorry for the delay but after-all she was not in fault but management needs to know that chicken tikka plate usually takes about 10-15 minutes. I hope this will improve the duration.
