Google
So we have now went twice to Bombay Social on Friday evenings around 4-5pm and both times the restaurant was empty and this should not be the case! The food and service is fantastic. First time we had butter chicken, Paneer Makhani and Garlic naan and that was the best butter chicken I’ve ever had! The paneer makhani had very good flavor as well and the naan was perfect. We took gulag jamun to go and those were a very good sweet after dinner. This time my wife got the paneer korma, I had the chicken chettinad and chicken tikka samosas. You have to try these samosas! With a little of each sauce this is such a fantastic bite! The korma sauce is creamy and herby and full of flavor! The chettinad while I didn’t like it as much as the butter chicken was still very good, the sauce reminds me a little of a stew gumbo hybrid with strong peppercorn flavor and the chicken is super tender! I think they use dark meat in this dish which is a perfect complement to that sauce. Bombay is such a hidden Gem on the eastern shore and deserves to be packed every night’

We went to Bombay Social for dinner this week and it was just ok. We've been to a lot of Indian cuisine places and this one ranks in the middle. Everything from the service, to the drinks, to the atmosphere, to the food, was unfortunately mediocre. Apparently, the owner doesn't handle any opinion other than, this is the best Indian food I've ever had, well. I actually eat Indian food often, as I have 6 Indian restaurants and 2 Indian grocery stores, near where I live. Im here to give MY opinion on MY experience, and it was mediocre.

Google
Bombay Social is the best Indian food I've ever had. The service is always top notch, so friendly and welcoming. I live in NC and every time I visit my Mom, having a meal (or 2 😊) at Bombay Social is at the top of my list. The owners really take pride in their food and it shows, because every meal is fresh and full of flavor! Do yourself a favor and eat at Bombay Social! You won't be disappointed. It's outstanding!

Google
I don't even know what to say. Cambridge...off the bay...wouldn't expect it. Literally some of the most delicious Indian cuisine I have ever tasted. Friendly staff, ridiculously delicious cocktails, this will challenge your pallette and what you knew was possible with food. If you are a foodie and love wild cocktails....it's worth the trip. I would drive an hour to get here. Just wow.

Google
It was the first time my friend and I came to this wonderful family Indian restaurant. It felt cozy, warm and the staff were welcoming! Everything my friend and I had was delicious: Samosa chat Saag paneer- we asked for it spicy. 🌶️ Goan chicken vindaloo Anddd we tried the cheese naan and garlic chili naan. 🫓 Loved dipping it in the sauces! They have an extensive menu, and I would love to come back and try more!! This will definitely be a favorite spot whenever I come to Cambridge! ❤️

Google
Absolutely pleased with the quality of the food as well as the atmosphere here. Everything I tried was not only unique, but delicious. Came out relatively quickly, and my needs were met. 10/10!

Google
This was our family’s first time trying Indian food, and we’re so glad we chose this place! The flavors were absolutely amazing. My 12- and 14-year-old sons were a little hesitant at first, but they ended up loving everything they tried. The service was fantastic—friendly, patient, and super helpful in guiding us through the menu. My husband and I also really enjoyed their cocktails, which were made with fresh ingredients. Highly recommend for anyone curious about Indian cuisine.

Google
Buttered chicken, goat vindaloo, Tikka chicken, everything was excellent. Friendly staff and large portions.

Yelp
Bombay Social is offering some of the best indian cuisine in sight! their homestyle approach is amazing and the food even better. This location is spacious however still feels homey. The owners do a great job at providing family style customer service by not only walking you through the menu but offering their recommendations, even things not on the menu! the food was seasoned and cooked perfectly. it was loaded with flavor and as you can tell, we had some variety. if you're ever in the eastern shore, you've definitely got to check them out!

Yelp
Customer service is great, you are greeted right away and sat down quickly, very polite waitress. The ambiance is great, not crowded and quiet today Saturday afternoon. The food is authentic Indian cuisine, everything is made in the kitchen, nothing is frozen or brought frozen to be cooked. It's so fresh and delicious that it is a fantastic meal. This is my fourth time visiting this restaurant and they got a forever customer. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Nice Indian restaurant in an historical building in downtown Cambridge, Maryland. Food was very good, just like in India. Spice level perfect, rich flavors. Server was lovely and friendly.

Yelp
Okay, guys. Indian was not on the top of my list of options to eat at on the cozy downtown of Cambridge but when looking for options, the pics drew me in...and also I love butter chicken We were there a cold night in February. There is no parking lot for the establishment that we could see but there is plenty of parking and lots throughout the main strip. We walked in and it is a small restaurant but very comfy cozy. One of the things that drew us to the place was their extensive cocktail menu but guess what? There was no bartender there that night but our server did know how to make an old fashioned. I love those so points! Guess what? It was soooooo delicious! If there's only one drink you know how to make, bravo! We ordered the butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and chicken tandoori. For sides we ordered sauces as well as cheese, garlic and onion naan. Okay...everything was absolutely delicious. Not too much and not too little. Very well flavored. We were still talking about it yesterday, 3 days later saying that it was the best meal we had the whole weekend. If you're in the area, this place is it. Go, eat and be merry and fingers crossed there is a bartender when you're there because other than that, the experience was great!

Yelp
Wonderful food, gracious service. Family owned - food that comes from the heart and makes you feel like you are sitting at their dining room table. Large dining room with huge tall ceiling. Very open space.

Yelp
We catered an event for a large party from Bombay social. The food was amazing and the service was even better. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Food is very good, best I've had. I loved eating chicken korma and lamb jalfrezi in college, and this place brings back those memories. The taste is even better because they didn't tone down the spicy level and the meat is top quality. We were just on our way driving back from ocean city, was very lucky to have found this place for lunch

Mike G.

Yelp
This Indian cuisine & bar is in downtown Cambridge. The fish curry, and paratha which is a unique unleavened bread, were delicious and in good portions. Their Remy Martin 1738 cognac was very smooth. The owner & staff were very attentive and professional. I highly recommend the Bombay Social.
google avatar

Alexander T.

Yelp
Amazing food! It tasted authentic and I ate much more than I should have. The staff were very friendly and the environment was warm and inviting. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
Such a delicious place! I brought my friend here, and we were greeted with a warm welcome and the amazing aroma of good food. Family owned and operated, this location is a wonderful spot for Indian food in Cambridge, MD. The service is wonderful, and the food is incredible. I highly recommend it when you visit !

Yelp
We live in Philadelphia and are no stranger to excellent Indian food. We come to the area often and we NEVER miss an opportunity to eat here!! It's a family establishment and it tastes like home. The saag paneer and CTM are two of our favorites. But we've had everything and loved it all. Don't miss this one!!!!!!

Yelp
Cambridge finally has a gem, hidden but a gem nonetheless. I was worried initially that this gem wouldn't receive the attention the support it deserves due to its location but I was pleasantly surprised by the number of calls they were receiving g for take out orders while I was there. This made me happy and I already know this will be my go to every other week when I am traveling 50 West. I ordered a lamb dish that was full of flavor and the tender pieces of meat melted in your mouth no knife needed. The ambiance is so cute and I love how the kitchen is exposed so you can see the chefs passionately at work. Also, the bar will be my go to the drinks are created with care and attentiveness with an Indian flare that I enjoyed. I had only one drink and was surely feeling it. Such a gem wonder if it's affiliated with the other Bombay located in Easton????
google avatar

Jenn K.

Yelp
Casual spot. Came here to check it out when in the area. Service was slow, with only one waiter working. Took a while to get our drink order, and to take our order. We thought it was a big mistake coming. But once appetizers, and food came out, we were all gushing at how wonderful the food was. Will definitely come back when I'm in the area.

Yelp
Food that warms your soul. Dining at Bombay Social was such a phenomenal experience!! I'm not an Indian food connoisseur, but I felt like I was having a home cooked meal. Everything we had was simply amazing. We ordered the cheese naan, chicken biryani, fish molee, and shahi korma chicken (my personal favorite!). We were here for a conference so it was quite busy for a Tuesday night. Before we sat down we were told it would be a bit of a wait for the food. If you're in town for a large conference just be aware! I promise the food is 1000% worth the wait.

Yelp
I came to this location today and the location has been moved now. This new location is spacious and they have indoor seating along with high tables. They do enforce social distancing and provide sanitizer at the front door. I ordered 3 orders of samosa and a spicy shrimp The samosa was fried well and was tasty. It comes with two different sauces. One I think is sweet the other is something like a pepper sauce. The shrimp comes with rice on the side, inside however comes with peppers and onions it's hot I mean it has good heat but yes it's spicy I like it. The garlic nann so good nice size def coming back. I called my order in and was told 20 min. When I went in I waited an additional 10 which was fine with me I mean I know the food is good so i can wait. I asked a young man at the front about drink options I was told they do not offer alcohol I did follow with letting him know I don't drink alcohol but yes I then followed up with what kind of juices do you have then I got 2 sweet teas. I've met the owner from my last visit so for this and because I know how kind she is I will return. Best of luck

Yelp
This is the best India food we ever have in the states. The lamb koma is heaven! And our kids love the chicken tender!

Yelp
Amazing Indian food, I am from Queens NY and the minute I walked in this restaurant i knew i was going to be very happy. Food is amazing, prepared healthy, great cocktails. This Family owed restaurant is definitely a Gem in Cambridge. Did I mention how good the cocktails were...
google avatar

Sarah I.

Yelp
If you like Indian food, stop here! We had two different lamb curries that were amazing! Lamb korma was creamy and flavorful and the lamb was soft and well cooked. The lamb bhuna was also delicious. The naan was also very good and ea h order is a gene our portion. The kids menu is small and non-traditional but our kiddo enjoyed the chicken noodles. Sadly they were out of mango lassi when we were there. Service started off slow as it took them a while to greet us. Once we were seated the servers were attentive and remained so even as things got busier.

Heather K.

Yelp
Best Indian food ever !! We drive a hour just to get it I didn't think I liked Indian food until I had bombay social. Very good recommend to everyone

Yelp
We were driving back from a weekend on the shore and passed through Cambridge around dinner time. This restaurant was open and seemed to have good reviews so we checked it out. The food was good but not exceptionally delicious. I thought it was a bit less flavorful than I'd hoped. It certainly wasn't bad and if I was looking for Indian food in the area I'd happily stop here again, but I would not go out of my way for it.

Lauren H.

Yelp
Beautiful space and some of the best Indian food I've ever had anywhere! They make their samosa dough in house and it was absolutely the most delicious samosa ever. We were licking our plates clean and wanted to grab people on the streets and tell them to come in and try some. Great find and a perfect meal before Eagleman.

Yelp
Welcoming and friendly establishment with bomb Indian food! The general manager was originally from my hometown in NY so we knew the food had to be good. Definitely was surprising to find considering when you think of MD, you always associate it with crabs/seafood. From drinks to apps to entrees , everything we had was perfect. For drinks, we had The Penicillin and an Indian mule and both were yummy cocktails with just enough alcohol that it wasnt overpowering. By the end of our drinks, we def could feel a very light, warm buzz. We were also offered 2 shots they made for a birthday party next to us which consisted of lime, mint, tequila & tamarind and it was completely unique delicious! For app, we had the Gobi Manchurian - sweet with a slight hint of hot but light enough that my daughter gobbled it all up and wanted more! From kid's menu, we ordered the egg noodles and had chicken added in. It was like a stir fry ramen w/ egg and chicken. Tasty even after reheating the next day. My daughter loved it. For entrees, we had Lamb chop - love what they marinated it with! Must get! Also recommended by fellow diner next to us. Kadai masala chicken was a recommendation by our waitress and it was creamy/tomato-y and paired great over rice and with garlic naan. I was scooping up all the sauce with naan! Highly recommend trying Bombay Social! I'm already seeing if I can come back before we leave to go home!

Yelp
We happened to stumble upon this establishment on a Friday night. It was very empty when we walked in and we were quickly served. We weren't expecting much and were pleasantly surprised! Everything was DELICIOUS! We had the malai kofta and it was one of the best I've had. This was far away from home but I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area.

Amy N.

Yelp
Maybe our favorite dining experience ever. No kidding. We racked up quite a bill and not because it's expensive- it's not- but because we devoured everything, ordered seconds, and didn't want to leave! We LOVE Indian food, and this may have been the best garlic naan (and butter chicken) we've ever had- but the suggestions from the kitchen were just as tasty. The kids played pac man, having been instructed how to do so for free by THE most delightful hostess, ate everything, and we wiped away one of the most lovely afternoons we've spent in a long time. The tomato soup is divine.

Yelp
Very good food!!!!!! Samosas were yummy and vegetable biriyani was tasty.....there are really ni Indian restaurants here in the eastern shore md so thus is great!!! Will definitely be going back if in the area....along with recommendations to colleagues about this place.

Yelp
So, I guess this Indian restaurant which was once in a little strip mall outside of the settled area moved to the edge of downtown in a snazzier (and clearly repurposed) building. From my pandemic takeout experience I thought it well worth a try in person. It wasn't the fastest experience (and indeed, I didn't catch as much sunset as I wanted to, which I'm not thrilled about), but this was because business was good and things were being made fresh, including my spicy yet nuanced chana masala, which came with a ton of rice. Nonetheless, I added a fried bread. The lentil soup was fairly watery and not that impressive; wouldn't order it again. But the chickpeas were legit. Even though my experience wasn't perfect, for having found good Indian food in this sleepy bayside town I feel pretty satisfied.

Yelp
Wow wow wow!!! To all the Plate Wipers, Come on over. You've all heard the song about "Becky with the good hair" well, meet Edwin with the good hair! He and his family whip up some magic at this explosion of flavors!! Out of all the states I visit, Bombay Social has to be my favorite; hands down. The dishes are the closest to "home cooking", that I've ever had elsewhere. While many other restaurants serve thin or soupy sauces, Bombay Social's are thick and rich. Be sure to get extra Naan, so once finished you'll be able to be a "plate wiper"! This is socially acceptable and highly encouraged!! The Malai Kofta is my favorite but, don't let that outshine all the other lip smacking options available. Bombay Social sets in a "raised above ground level" building with huge floor the ceiling windows. They offer bartop seating, bartop tables, and regular low tables. The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. If you are into sports, they have 3 large tvs that are there for your viewing pleasure as well. The tvs are conveniently placed over the cook so you face the magic maker himself and have your face painted with all the epic smells. There is street parking as well as an end of the building parking lot. While visiting, be a trooper and ask for a to-go menu so, you can circle everything off as you go. I promise you'll be back. This place gets my 2 thumbs up and 2 forks as well! Hopefully my pictures entice you to enough to take a road trip or if you are local........well, if you are local how daaaaaaare you not have already been here! Order the Chicken Lollipops first and all will be forgiven.
google avatar

Heather B.

Yelp
By far the best Indian Food I've ever had! Everything is absolutely delicious and so flavorful! We drive 40 minutes just to go here. The drinks also hit. My go to cocktails are Classic Gimlet and Mumbai Margarita. It's a chill spot, the staff are genuine and very knowledgeable. Go HERE!!!!!! You won't regret it!
google avatar

Christina S.

Yelp
One word - AMAZING! Ordered the samosas (2 types) for our appetizer. Very large, both different, and so good. So good I burnt my mouth because I could not wait for them to cool down. Dinner was lamb biryani, shahi korma chicken, chicken jalfrezi, garlic and regular naan. Large portions, fabulous taste and wonderful staff. We will be back again very soon!!!
google avatar

Dana W.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious and flavorful! We ordered the classics and it did not disappoint. Butter chicken was rich, tandoori chicken had a great flavor, fresh garlic naan was hot, and the ice tea had a great flavor. Can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Yelp
Was a bit skeptical ordering Indian food in this small town but decided to give it a try because hidden gems are always the best finds. Ordered the chicken pakora, garlic naan, saag paneer, and chicken tikka masala. The chicken pakora was nicely fried and flavorful, not spicy at all although the color can be a bit intimidating. The garlic naan was garlicky and had a nice chew to it. Both the saag paneer and chicken tikka malasa had great flavor profiles and kept us coming back for more. Honestly I think the only thing that was surprisingly just ok was the rice but the actual food was solid. Would recommend getting Indian food here if you're craving it in the area!
google avatar

Nigel H.

Yelp
Hands down, the BEST Indian food we've had in the US. We're also South Asian so you can take our word for it. We're just sad we couldn't go again the next day as they were closed. If you're in the area, look no further for the best meal in town. Definitely driving back from DC with family/friends in the future just to eat here.

Gail J.

Yelp
The staff was very friendly. The food was delicious. We enjoyed our meal. Cambridge is lucky to have this as an option. Highly recommend. A pleasant setting. *****

Yelp
Excellent food, service, and people. Walked in greeted with menu and great table service. I ordered The Tandoori Shrimp, Garlic Naan, and rice pudding. All delicious.

Megan H.

Yelp
Best restaurant in town. I've lived in several major cities and had a lot of Indian food - this is hands down some of the best I've ever had. It's such a gem for this small town. I've been here about 5 times, and they just reopened (thank goodness); every time food and service have been excellent. The appetizers are really great, vegetarian dishes are filling, and all mains and curries are so good it's hard not to over eat. My favorites: Apps: cilantro chicken, onion pakora, and samosa chaat Entrees: shahi korma chicken, saag paneer, goan vindaloo, chicken tikka masala, lamb biryani. Their goat curry and butter chicken is also so great. Naan: amazing peshwari and garlic naans They also just added cocktails! I loved the sharabi lassi and bollywood smash Don't skip on this place. The food is comforting and delicious + the folks who own and run the spot are so kind and welcoming

Jackie M.

Yelp
This is a family and small business who has been located in Cambridge for three years. The food is made fresh and delicious to include the Garlic Naan. I spoke to the owner for a bit after lunch this past Sunday and she was lovely. We both had Tandoor dishes and enjoyed them quite a bit. highly recommend!
google avatar

Stacy S.

Yelp
We love Bombay Social! The menu has many selections, the staff is friendly ( lots of family working there) and the food is always superb. Go there you'll thank me!
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely Amazing and Authentic Indian Cuisine, Special Drink menu. Nothing like it anywhere!
google avatar

Kimberly B.

Yelp
Absolutely deserves the five stars they have received. The food was excellent and the service from the staff was better than the food.
google avatar

Carlos E.

Yelp
Authentic Indian cuisine, with a nice selection of dishes and wonderful rich in flavors. The garlic Naan bread and Samosas are great. We like the Tandoori grill dishes in the summer and the rich hearty curry's in the winter specially the Chicken Tikka Masala.
google avatar

Neal O.

Yelp
The food is fantastic, the staff is always very friendly, the restaurant itself is in a charming historic building, and I love that we have this dining option in Cambridge. The one thing holding it back from 5 stars is that the service is often exceptionally slow. If you've got the time, it's definitely worth it -- just be prepared going in.
google avatar

Shannon G.

Yelp
Amazing and authentic food. Samosa chaat is to die for. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
google avatar

Ani J.

Yelp
We were visiting Grand Hyatt at the Chesapeake for the weekend and were bored of the food there. After searching on Yelp, we found this place and decided to dine here for dinner. The restaurant has a decent ambience, nothing fancy. The server was also the owner and was super friendly. We ordered the following: - Onion Pakodas (special of the day): This was really well made and not oily at all. - Lasuni Gobhi: This is a bit bland. I was going to order Gobhi 65 but the server recommended Lasuni Gobhi. I am not a fan of spicy food but this was too bland for me. - Aaloo Paratha: Very soft and well made. Loved it. - Malai Kofta: This was delicious. - Laacha Paratha: Soft and served hot. - Gulab Jamun: This was disappointing. It felt like it came from a can. Overall, a great place to dine while at Cambridge MD. The food is delicious.

Hitesh P.

Yelp
Modern, clean and yet charming! The restaurant is very conveniently located near the highway and has ample parking nearby. The food was delicious, Samosa chaat had the right amount of sweetness and tang. Their naan was fresh and excellent as was the Paneer Korma. Highly recommend this charming place. Their owners are very warm and that added to the experience!!
google avatar

Rachel R.

Yelp
Really great Indian food in Cambridge? Who knew?! A true hidden delight, I wish it was near my home! Great selection of Indo-Chinese dishes and some Indian classic. Loved the samosa chaat, the mutton (on the appetizer menu) and the lahsini gobi (the pickled garlic was great) and the chili shrimp was tasty but a little sweet. The paratha was very flaky and fresh. Everything was so flavorful and even though some was fried nothing was greasy. The mutton was the most tender lamb I've ever had and there were no tough or fatty pieces just tasty chunks. The staff was super friendly and pleasant. The space was a bit bare bones and I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic evening but it was very clean.
google avatar

Hannah B.

Yelp
I'm so excited for Cambridge to have something other than fast food or the typical America fan far. Went for dinner with family on a Saturday. The place wasn't super packed so no wait for a table. We ordered the chicken manchurian for an appetizer - it was pretty spicy, but had good flavor. For dinner our table split the chicken tikka masala and the lamb curry. Perfect amount of food for 3 people to split. The waiter was very attentive to asking about spicy levels, and was quick to refill our drinks when we had the spicy appetizer. Will be back for sure!

John S.

Yelp
I came here with shout 10 friends. The food is good, especially considering the food scene in the area.
