Best Indian Restaurants in Austin | Eater Austin

"With food trucks in both Anderson Mill and Cedar Park, Bombay Street Food is all about Indian snacks. From the crispy bursting pani puri (crispy hallowed balls filled with chutney, spices, potatoes, and chickpeas), the flavorful ragda chaat (potato patties topped with chutneys) and vada pavs (deep-fried potato sandwiches), to the samosa chaats (chunks of samosas topped with chickpeas and chutneys), the menu goes the distance in importing over beloved street food dishes. Both locations have limited seating, with the Cedar Park truck offering covered picnic tables and Anderson Mill’s truck having a few tables as well, it is also easy enough to sample the street food without having to set foot outside through DoorDash." - Deven Wilson

"The near-Anderson Mill food truck is all about Indian snacks, from the crispy bursting pani puri (crispy hallowed balls filled with chutney, spices, potatoes, and chickpeas), the flavorful ragda chaat (potato patties topped with chutneys) and vada pavs (deep-fried potato sandwiches), to the samosa chaats (chunks of samosas topped with chickpeas and chutneys). There’s a second location in Cedar Park. Takeout orders can be placed in person; there are DoorDash deliveries; and there are outdoor dine-in areas." - Nadia Chaudhury

Best Austin Restaurant Dishes of 2023, According to Eater Austin Editors | Eater Austin

"Before seeing a movie up in far-from-us North Austin, we decided to grab food from the Indian chaat truck, and it was so good. We got the pani puri, which was wonderful crispy bursting round bites; the vada pav, which was so spicy without the thoughtful addition of fresh green chiles; and the ragda pattice, essentially a potato patty with chickpeas and sev drenched in chutneys in a soup-like format. Everything was rounded out by a steaming hot cup of chai. Everything was so wonderful and flavorful and I need to go back to try the rest of the wide menu. Takeout orders can be placed in person; there are outdoor dine-in tables. —Nadia Chaudhury" - Nadia Chaudhury

Had a fantastic time at this place! Its located at a gas station and has outdoor seating. The owner, Imtayaz is a wonderful gentleman and suggested us their top menu items. We tried a lot of items here. The service is very fast and all the items are very reasonably priced. They also have a list of jain menu items. While everything we order was delicious and tasted very authentic, I would highly recommend their cheese pav bhaji, dabeli and raj kachori. I would definitely visit again!

Took me back to Amchi Mumbai. The chaats were delicious. My favourite were Dabeli and Raj Kachori. The radga was delicious. Patties were fine. The sev puri was yum. The chutneys in all had a great spice to it. The pav bhaji was nice. Totally going back again to try the other dishes

Absolutely loved my experience here! The team was incredibly kind and welcoming. I was a bit indecisive about what to order, but Sonia went above and beyond — patiently asking questions to understand my tastes and offering thoughtful recommendations for both me and my boyfriend. The food? Fantastic. I grew up eating Indian street food, and this is some of the most authentic I’ve had in Austin. Bold flavors, great portions, and genuinely warm service. A must-try if you’re in the neighborhood!

My family and I visited Austin and were searching for vegetarian food when we stumbled upon this gem of a place. We stopped by during the afternoon, and though it was chilly outside, the warm hospitality and delicious food made it a memorable experience. We ordered the Dabali, Bombay Chaat, Cheese Bhel, and Raj Kachori—all of which were absolutely fantastic. The owner was incredibly kind and even offered us two complimentary chai (tea) to warm us up, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The food was flavorful and authentic, and my family thoroughly enjoyed every bite. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for great Bombay street food in Austin!

Bombay Street Food in Austin offers an explosion of authentic Indian flavors. Their dishes are incredibly flavorful and aromatic, with a vibrant blend of spices. Be forewarned, the spice level can be quite intense, so proceed with caution if you have a low tolerance for heat. However, the bold flavors and generous portions make it a truly memorable dining experience.

I’m usually not a big fan of North Indian chaat, but this place changed my mind , it was amazing! The food made me feel so happy and full. He really knows how to cook with love. The service was great too. The owner was very kind to my 5-year-old, and that really impressed me. May God bless you, your family, and your business. I hope it grows and reaches great success. I’m so happy you're serving food that makes us want to come back again and again!
