1/5 Stars: A Disappointing Experience at Bombay Street Food Express 3, Washington D.C._
I'm extremely disappointed to write this review, as I was looking forward to enjoying authentic Indian street food at Bombay Street Food Express 3 in Washington D.C. Unfortunately, my experience was a letdown, with subpar food quality and unimpressive service.
We ordered a variety of dishes, including the Sweet Gobhi Alu, Dal Fry, and Rotis. The Sweet Gobhi Alu, which I was particularly excited to try, was a major disappointment. The cauliflower and potatoes were raw and undercooked, making the dish inedible. The sweetness overpowered any other flavors that might have been present, making it a cloying and unpleasant experience.
The Dal Fry was mediocre at best. The lentils were cooked, but the dish lacked depth and flavor. It was a generic, uninspired rendition of a classic Indian dish.
The Rotis were another letdown. They were thick and undercooked, with a dense, doughy texture that was unappealing. It's inexcusable for an Indian restaurant to serve subpar rotis, as they're a staple of the cuisine.
The service was also unimpressive. Our server seemed disinterested and took a long time to take our order. The food arrived in a timely manner, but the server didn't check in on us regularly to ensure that everything was to our liking.
Overall, my experience at Bombay Street Food Express 3 was a disappointment. With subpar food quality and unimpressive service, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Indian cuisine.
