Had an overall pleasant experience of enjoying a supper here on my trip to Ladakh, albeit with some concerns here and there.
I don't think there's a better restaurant in the Leh city to be enjoying the sunset than this one. Their outdoor seating, the gravel-lined lawns, candle-lights deserves a 10 stars for sure. The atmosphere really sets the mood and watching the sun set beyond the rugged brown mountains and snowcapped peaks in the distance is a picture that will forever be etched in my mind.
The food did not disappoint either. We ordered skewers, herb & garlic chicken, and spaghetti and taste wise they were good. But compared to the price, the amount felt unjustly small. I would however have to give points in efforts made by the chef for garnishing.
It's expensive, if you ask me but considering a majority of their customers were foreigners, I would guess they had upped their price to cater to a majorly foreign crowd. Plus, the menu feels a tad bit limiting. Not very many options either.
My only major concern, however, is that the waiters seemed to be paying more attention the groups of foreigners who had come here and sometimes absolutely ignoring us, when we needed to take something. A lot of reviews I read here talk about this bit of racism towards Indian customers and while it had not been anything extreme in our case, we still felt their approach towards Indians and foreigners was a tad bit different.
I would still say this place is worth going for a one time visit to catch the sunset and enjoy one meal, just for the sake of experience.
