The 19 Best Haitian Restaurants In Miami

"Like a good reversible shirt, Bon Bagay has two sides. One is Haitian, and the other is Chinese. But this isn't fusion. The menu of this (mostly) takeout restaurant in North Miami is split pretty evenly between the two cuisines. On one side, there are dishes like shrimp fried rice and honey glazed wings—on the other, barbecue ribs and fried goat. They make an excellent griot with the kind of pikliz that makes your eyes sweat (so try it before pouring it all over your food). The whole fried fish is juicy, and comes with a side of fried plantains that taste great with their pink sauce. Portions are large and it’s best to call in your order ahead to avoid the lunch rush." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino, carlos c olaechea

I came here today with my cousin around 3:20 p.m. I ordered honey chicken wings with rice at 3:28 p.m. On the menu, the price is $14. They charged me $16.64. I went to the two nearby stores. I left the receipt in my cousin's hand to monitor the order. When I returned for the order, it still wasn't prepared after 30 minutes. When I demanded a refund, they kept apologizing and refused. They quickly came out with a rushed plate of food and said, "Here is the food." I kept asking for my refund and refused to accept the food. I didn't trust the food. Several workers were apologizing, trying to explain that they had a problem. I refused to accept their apology. My cousin informed me that they didn't have a lot of customers when I left. Meaning my order was the only one they had. Once they saw they couldn't convince me, they refunded me. The manager came to apologize, stating, "I hope we can treat you better and give better service next time." After such a terrible experience, there won't be a next time. I don't plan on returning.

One of my favorite spots. The service, the food, how quick you are greeted and served, etc. The owners wife is typically there and she’s so personable and will help you order if you aren’t sure of what to get. I order from there atleast 2/3 times a week. My parents eat there weekly as well.

I came here very hungry to get a side of rice. That’s all I can order because I don't eat meat & they refused to sell me a side dish, said meal has to be complete. Why does your menu have a side order section with prices if you won’t sell it to customers? This business is crazy making customers who want to support you leave with their money & no food, after being very patient waiting. NO VEGETARIAN OPTIONS & HAVE NERVE TO USE RASTA ON THEIR MENU & HAVE NO FOOD FOR RASTA PEOPLE, NOT EVEN VEGGIE RASTA PASTA!!!! SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! USELESS!!!!!!!!

We are roadtrip tourists from Singapore and are delighted to taste such excellent Chinese-Carribean food! We got the fried shrimp rice with bbq ribs. What was shocking to us was that the fried rice had strong Wok Hei ("lingering flame of the wok") thats present in only the best kitchens from where we came from. I have not experienced such Wok Hei outside Asia in all my travels. I dare say its even better than the well-known restaurants in Singapore like Imperial Treasure. As for the ribs, it was heavenly, soft, succulent, just the right balance of fat and meat, lightly tangy and sweet. It is even better than Tony Romas ribs. We met the great lady chef and praised her so much we couldnt stop! Its a must-visit when you are in town..!

Yelp
This is a new spot that just opened up so I wanted to try the food. The food was amazing. Tried the shrimp fried rice, fried shrimp, plantains, chicken wings, and everything tasted great. Only downside was the wait so if you can call before going that would cut down on wait time.

Yelp
Normally we go in an order for carry out even though the dining area is quaint and inviting. I have witnessed the table serving and the portions are amazing! Traditional Haitian Cuisine prepared with pride and love. Must have the Boulette and Akra!!!
