The 8 Best Korean BBQ Restaurants in Houston - Houston - The Infatuation

"An AYCE oasis, Bon Korean BBQ in Chinatown is where you go to shovel as much kimchi, beef galbi, marinated rib meat, and pork belly as your heart (or stomach) can handle. The buffet here is filled with rows upon rows of bulgogi, ribeye, short rib, and almost any other grillable meat you can imagine, and there are also scores of hot dishes, salad options, and a nearly overwhelming amount of banchan. But be warned: Bon KBBQ charges a $20 fee for any uncleaned plates, so make sure that your eyes aren’t bigger than your stomach. Or, at least, make sure that someone at your table can pick up the slack." - gianni greene, chelsea thomas

Bon Korean BBQ - Review - Chinatown - Houston - The Infatuation

"An AYCE oasis, Bon Korean BBQ in Chinatown is where you go to shovel as much kimchi, beef galbi, marinated rib meat, and pork belly as your heart (or stomach) can handle. Lit up with glowing LED lights that make the restaurant feel like a sexy alien spaceship, the buffet at the center of the dining room is where all the action happens. Filled with rows upon rows of bulgogi, ribeye, short rib, and almost any other grillable meat you can imagine, the buffet also has scores of hot dishes, salad options, and a nearly overwhelming amount of banchan. There’s an additional full menu of meats that can be ordered to the table, free of charge, so you can eat as long as your wrists have the strength to flip your meat (or two hours, whichever is sooner). But be warned: Bon KBBQ charges a $20 fee for any uncleaned plates, so make sure that your eyes aren’t bigger than your stomach. Or, at least, make sure that someone at your table can pick up the slack. Food Rundown Spicy Pork Bulgogi One of our buffet favorites, the spicy pork bulgogi is covered in a marinade with just enough kick to keep your attention. photo credit: Richard Casteel Spicy Chicken Just edging out the pork bulgogi as our favorite spice girl at Bon KBBQ, the tender pieces of chicken soak up every bit of spice that they’re coated in. photo credit: Richard Casteel Pork Belly After hitting the grill, the thin slices of pork belly all but dissolve when you eat them, leaving nothing but their sweet memory behind. And maybe the desire for another piece or two of pork belly. photo credit: Richard Casteel Beef Bulgogi Beef bulgogi at Bon is cut slim and has a sweet, caramelized taste. And while we don’t think there’s anything wrong with the beef bulgogi, we’d rather use our precious two-hour time limit eating one of the spicier options. photo credit: Richard Casteel Daepae Daepae, thinly-sliced pork belly, at Bon has to be requested from the menu of meats that aren’t out on the buffet line. But it’s delightfully crispy and is what we’d imagine pork-flavored air tastes like, so it’s worth flagging your server down to order some. photo credit: Richard Casteel" - Gianni Greene

Google
For just $19.99 lunch, our group of 3 enjoyed 9 servings of LA galbi, 1 hotpot, 1 serving of other meats, and a wide selection of vegetables. The LA galbi is absolutely delicious. This has been my family’s #1 grilled BBQ spot for the past 10 years. You won’t find a better beef buffet deal anywhere in Houston!

Google
One of the best Houston barbecue restaurants I've ever eaten we went for 3 at lunch, great food and great service will definitely be back.

Google
Beef price inflated? No worries, this is your spot. Worried that fake AYCE KBBQ limits your Galbi orders? No worries, this is your spot. Too much traffic going to China town? No worries , this is your spot. With all seriousness this is the best value you can get in Houston Area. And the food is surprisingly authentic.

Google
We came for lunch on a Tuesday. I thought from the menu pics it would just be the meats listed, but there's a full self-serve buffet area with meats, sides, and carbs. We were in about 1 pm and it wasn't super busy. Service was friendly and attentive. We tried lots of the offerings and definitely felt like it's a great value for the lunch price. I liked the spicy pork belly from the buffet area and the beef belly from the order list. Everything was fresh and presented well. I recommend this spot if you enjoy KBBQ.

You can’t miss a STAR ⭐️ on this place..! It was indeed a great delight to find this place and have a great experience of Korean BBQ. The server was really nice and very attentive and always checked in with changing the burnt trays from cooking. There is ample amount of meat to select from you can’t go wrong on. I will be back again soon. ALL YOU CAN EAT, needs empty stomach. 😎 Thank You For The Amazing Food You Serve. ❤️💯❤️

Google
Great atmosphere! Friendly staff! And very helpful. They walked us through the use of the grill, making our soup and very attentive to our needs. The food was very flavorful. And since it is a buffet, you can try a little of everything to see what you like.

Google
Delicious food. Great service! 1/8/2021: we come here about once a month! The marinated meat is amazing! The service is prompt at removing the metal Grills once they get too charred. The sides are delicious! Highly remind this place. With covid-19 precautions you use gloves even you grab your food. 3/12/2021 Another 5 star experience over lunch! Prompt replacing of the grill. 4/7 & 4/12 Another delicious experience. They have ice cream too. They will allow outside cakes for birthdays. 4/29/2021 Another great and delicious meal! They were very good at removing the dirty grill and dirty dishes. Still using disposable gloves and masks when getting your food. 9/16/2021 The marinated meats still taste very fresh. The flavors are continually on point. The service is prompt and attentive (removing plates, dirty grill plates and filling up glasses). Still stand by my 5 star rating. 10/30/2021: Another 5 star experience. 1/17/2022 Another 5 star experience. We were a party of 13 and had very prompt service of removing grills and removing of dirty plates. Love coming here.

Yelp
Best bang for the buck korean bbq. Its all you can eat for $20. Everything is nice and fresh. The kimchi could use a little more kick to it, but all in all its good. They have a variety of meats and seafood to grill at your table and also already cooked meats. The banchan bar is good with a variety of sides. Well worth the trip. Paid $50 for 2 meals and tip. We drank water.

Yelp
What was once Jin, is now Bon. AYCE KBBQ wasn't much of a thing in HTown up until a handful of years ago and Jin was one of the few local chains that was leading up the charge. As the full rebrand went into a effect a couple of years ago, the change didn't seem to stop at the name. Whatever the hypothetical reasonings behind the name (#1), it has likely resulted in everything they don't want. On the surface, it might seem like not much has changed. The format is still a mix of a la carte and self-serve buffet with limited service. Anyone who remembers what it was like during the Jin days will soon see that the food quality has gone down, the prices have gone up, and the service has not gotten better. Even first timers are likely to notice something. The meats are the biggest tragedy. Whether it's the funk from the marinated meats, or the subpar variety, I really long for better days on their end. KBBQ is one of my favorite things in life and I do hope that this location, along with the others can turn it around soon. __________ (#1) Bon like bon appetit? Or bon like root? (本) Either way, not a good look.

Yelp
I so badly wanted to enjoy this place, but it just was not it. I used to visit when it used to be called "Jin" and now it's under new management so I wanted to give it a shot. The stars are only for the servers/service because they were very nice and attentive. Food was simply bad. We came for lunch on a Friday afternoon (maybe it was a sign that nobody else was there). They don't have the meats on the buffet bar anymore, you order it which was fine. They have more cooked food items now but they were all cold for some reason. We ordered the korean hot wings and they were cold too! The meats were just okay and took forever to cook because the grill had issues. We did order a Double Shawty off the alcohol menu and that was something we definitely enjoyed - maybe the only thing. Maybe dinner is different but I would not recommend lunch.

Yelp
This restaurant is now under new management, so we decided to give it a try for Korean cuisine. When we arrived around 6 pm, there were only about 4-5 tables occupied. They had specials advertised, but the Chinese/Korean side buffet was very disappointing. The trays were not being refilled, and the food that was out looked like it had been sitting for hours--not fresh at all. We asked about the Korean BBQ, and while they did provide us with a menu, the experience was underwhelming. The grill heating elements were very slow, so it took a long time to cook the meat, which made the whole dining experience frustrating and not enjoyable. For the price, it's just not worth it. I would rather go to another Korean restaurant that serves fresh, high-quality food and provides a better BBQ experience.

Yelp
This place has seen a lot of changes over the years, even its name. I feel the quality has slightly dropped also, but otherwise Bon continues to be consistently decent. It's a nice modern interior, and service is always fast since you have the tableside light so signal a waiter over. The lunch AYCE is pretty good value. Still a decent selection of meats and sides, although the meats that sometimes remain frozen when it gets to your table isn't as high quality as many other kbbq places I've been to. My biggest gripe is the dessert drink (shikeh). It's included in the unlimited menu and is one of my favorite things there, but they cut you off after 2 orders even though it doesn't say anywhere that there's a limit. Strange how they'll let me have as much steak as I want, but not a 3rd tiny cup of rice punch.

Yelp
All You Can Eat Korean BBQ for $19.99 (plus tax and tip on a weekday) in Houston, Texas... This was such a great deal for our party of six. We walked into a nicely air-conditioned, spacious, clean, modern restaurant with easy parking and convenient restroom! The best part is that customers get to select their own meats and banchan. Examples: Take the leaner meat with less gristle! Grab more of your favorite banchan without bothering the busy workers who might forget! Another good thing was the free drink promotion: post something on social media for a complimentary soft drink! I did an Instagram story and got a free Coca-Cola! Thanks! Bonus: We had a chance to try new things like Pumpkin Porridge and shikeh. My brother-in-law is 100 percent Korean and he didn't know what these were, too! Pumpkin Porridge is like a tomato bisque, but with Pumpkin. It was a tad bit sweet with tiny bits of Pumpkin. We liked it! Shikeh is a traditional Korean sweet rice ginger punch. All six of us enjoyed the subtle ginger flavor! Cheers! Staff was very efficient in removing our used plates. They were also polite and welcoming! Thank you so much for a super awesome dining experience!

Yelp
If it wasn't for the $20 AYCE lunch (and REALLY enjoyable LA Kalbi), I wouldn't come back.... That being said, they do and I like to hit this place at least once a month. Service is good except for that one annoying server that keeps going "ENJOY ENJOY!" Wife won't let me say anything mean to/about him. There is better food out there but for $20 AYCE?!? That's a pretty good deal! Looking forward to next month.

Yelp
One of the better AYCE KBBQ spots in Houston. Quality meat selection at a good price make for a great value. The dinning area is very large so we've never had trouble seating and we've never felt rushed like some other places. They have a button you can push and a waitstaff will quickly come to take your order for more meat. While there are a lot of options you can self-serve like the bulgogi and spicy pork, the better options are ordered. The beef tongue is my favorite. Beef belly, pork belly, pork cheeks, galbi and beef brisket are all good too. One lesser known option is the pineapple galbi, it's a relatively large cut of meat and the pineapple is great grilled. We like to order the pineapple separately as first dessert before the ice cream.

Yelp
my favorite korean bbq place with one of the lower prices compared to other k bbq places. they also have an option to add hotpot for no extra charge! i especially love the marinated meat flavor they have in the self serve aisle. the spicy bulgogi is my personal favorite. i also love ordering just pineapple to grill and eat! they have several options that aren't just raw meat which are also good such as tteokbooki, japache (clear glass noodles), wings, fried rice and more. they also have a wide selection of sides like pickled vegetables. they have a sauce station to make your own sauce! they have limited dessert options with only have a few flavors of ice cream. you also get a rice flavored drink at the end of your meal! service is always friendly!
google avatar

Yelp
AYCE Korean BBQ? Bon KBBQ has just that! They're actually a buffet, which I haven't seen before for the AYCE concept! You go in and there's lots of already cooked offerings like kimchi fried rice and already cooked meats! There's also a buffet table with raw items you can cook on the grill at your table - meat sitting out like this was a bit weird to me, but there is ice beneath the raw stuff! You can also order meats to be brought out to you, which I don't see why they don't just do this?! The grill didn't get very hot, seemed like a gas grill vs charcoal.. the food was alright, not very high quality meat, but the fiancé and kiddo loves the marinated kalbi and they give you pretty good portions of it per order. Lots of options.. service was good, they don't bother you too much and make sure they get you want you need, even when they're starting to close shop.. there's a bar just full of sauces as well for your meats! Ambiance is casual. Expect to walk out of there smelling like meat though cause I don't think the ventilation was very good at each of the tables.

Yelp
Came here during lunch hours. Had a great experience! Food was delicious and their meat tasted very fresh. Our server was so nice and very attentive. I really love how they give you their ginger punch at the end of the meal, but they also have it on the menu so you could always order some during your meal if you prefer. Overall, we had a great experience and can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Keisha R.

Yelp
For the price point it's pretty good. Dinner is $29.99 for kbbq and hot pot. If you want hot pot, they bring out the burner/pot to your table. There were 3 or 4 broth options. I had the spicy tofu one and it wasn't super flavorful. Only ate a little bit and then asked the waiter to take it away. There are a lot of meats in the buffet line and many premium meats you can order (all included). Meat quality was normal for kbbq. There are also a lot of cooked dishes like kimchi fried rice, different stir frys and breaded chicken dishes. The kimchi fried rice wasn't great. The chicken dishes were ok. There are also soups. So the buffet is pretty extensive. So many sauces for dipping as well. The place has tvs and lots of cool lighting. Service was good. No issues there. Overall, it was ok. I'd go back and try some different meats. We don't get to try a variety of meats because the portions of meat you order with the waiter are huge. So beware of this. Maybe even ask for half portions.
google avatar

Yelp
I have been here when it was Jin Korean BBQ many years ago. Just recently, I noticed name changed to Bon KBBQ. According employee, it was just a name change. No wonder most reviews still carry the old name. Either way, same style and same affordable priced buffet meal. I came here today was because I didn't want to fight traffic to eat spicy food at the other side of town. One thing I like about Bon KBBQ is the parking and location. All you can eat doesn't attract me. I would rather limit myself to 35 minutes or I'll be full like a potbelly pig. Two things I don't like about this restaurant are the ventilation and thickness of cuts. My shirt stunk like I worked in the kitchen cooking for hours. I normally like to cook my own food at the table. But this time, I worried about eating half cooked pork and chicken. Because I overcooked my meats, they were tough. Yikes. But, I do like the prepared food section. Bulgogi beef and kimchi fried rice were my favorite. I would go back to eat just those and skip raw meat section.
google avatar

Janet N.

Yelp
The food here is good and it's buffet style with premium items you can order from the menu which is included with the meal. The price is very reasonable. The service was the best I had at any buffet place I've been to. Very attentive. Only thing is they need better dessert options.
google avatar

Roanne R.

Yelp
The flavor of food was very bland. They had a ton of choices but the flavor was missing. The quality of meat was subpar. I wish it was good I really tried. But it's not good.
google avatar

Nikhil R.

Yelp
Ok, this all you can eat (AYCE) Korean BBQ establishment is so unique from any other place I've been to. They have a plethora of items in a buffet style area that you can take as well as a few other meats that you can order. The buffet area allows you to get your dipping sauces, banchan, side dishes, and several raw and prepared meats. This is great as you can try small amounts of many things. Then, when you get to your table you can order more meats such as brisket, pork belly, beef belly, and LA galbi. To signal the staff to assist you, simply turn on your light at your table. Speaking of staff, I've never had better staff being so attentive and friendly. The main host personally took us around the buffet area to show us how it worked and what the layout was like. Servers at our table kept our drinks topped off and the meats coming. Now the food itself was incredible. For the price of $28 per person for dinner, it's a great value. The beef brisket and belly is so soft and juicy and fatty. The LA galbi is an absolute must if you want some of the tastiest meat out there. And all the bulgogi at the buffet area is excellent. I love how dude dishes are prepared and available for you to take such as soups, different fried rices, prepared bulgogi, and at least several dozen sauce options. It's a winter wonderland for Korean bbq lovers. All in all, this is the spot to go to if you are wanting to have one of the best AYCE KBBQ experiences you may ever have.
google avatar

Ted F.

Yelp
3.5 stars. Unobjectionable but unexceptional AYCE KBBQ. $19.99 is a good value for lunch if you like KBBQ. Good service (they replaced our grill plate with a clean one mid meal), large space with clever lighting. Side dishes (and cheaper cuts of meat) are on a buffet stand to serve yourself. Skip the low quality ice cream.

Yelp
I hadn't been back to Jin in over a year, so I decided stop by for dinner on a week day last week. They have a new name now, but the interior decorations still have the Jin name, and everything was pretty much the same as before. There were a few new items on section buffet (both cooked and raw) from the last time I was here. Overall, it was decent. For the price and availability , I would say it's only worth it to go during lunch, but I wouldn't mind stopping by if I couldn't decide on anywhere else to eat
google avatar

Hayley F.

Yelp
This is my first time here. Service staff was very kind to explain how the buffet works. Food is divided into sections of cooked food, raw marinated meats, and salad bar. They have soups, pumpkin porridge, white rice, and ice cream too. Food is mainly self-service but they have other thin sliced meats which can be ordered from the menu. They also have alcohols if you like. The meat quality was so-so. The marinated beef bulgogi especially, reminded me of the one I could get from Costco. The cooked food reminded me of food I could get from Costco or food that came out of big cans or containers. For the buffet price, I would say it was worth it. I ordered the lychee soju cocktail thinking that it would just be in a small glass. I was shocked to be served a carafe. The soju cocktail tasted more of soda than soju, and not much lychee taste. Restaurant could lower down the volume of the background music more so that I didn't have to keep shouting to my friend who was just sitting opposite me. However, the service staff was very attentive. Changing of grills was prompt, and service staff was always around to help. Thumbs up.
google avatar

Yelp
I love the variety of this Korean bbq spot. My favorites are the bulgogi and beef belly. I really enjoyed the various sides and other options in the buffet section. Definitely get some samjang and salt with sesame oil to dip your meats in. The kimchi radish and potato salad are really tasty. I also liked the japchae, bean sprouts, and of course a big bowl of rice with my meat. You'll definitely have the meat sweats after this meal. The restaurant is large with plenty of tables and booths. The service is good and the regularly switch out the grills for you. Can't wait to come again.

Yelp
I had my birthday here. They accommodated my large party which took about half the restaurant. It was great, and Kai was always helpful.
google avatar

Jennifer V.

Yelp
I came here for my friend's birthday. Sides like seafood salad weren't great but their LA Galbi was good! The other meats like the bulgogi were decent but nothing special. I came on the weekend where the AYCE is ~$30 which was overpriced personally but weekday AYCE lunch is $18 which I think is definitely worth for unlimited LA Galbi. They have free ice cream and a little free drink when you pay for the bill. They definitely made the birthday girl feel special (although they didn't communicate with our waiter to bring out the cake when paying the bill) - they bring light up sticks for you to hold and wave while we all sing happy birthday and take a complimentary picture of the group and print it out for you. Overall, definitely a place I'd recommend for a birthday meal.

Yelp
I came here last week with my mom & grandmother and I just had to leave a review! Not sure why this place only has 3 1/2 stars, I had a lovely time eating here. Our host was very knowledgeable and explained the concept of the restaurant to all of us. I love the idea of buffet KBBQ, I wish there was one like this here where I live. Also while we were eating, one staff member noticed our cuts of meat were fatty & gave us new ones, which I thought was so kind. I wish I lived in Houston, I'd definitely be a regular here if I could!

Yelp
We are here for the first time last Saturday. Staff was super friendly and offered their suggestions. The food was delicious. The buffet had raw meat for you to cook at your table as well as already prepared meat. Lots to choose from both proteins and vegetables.

Daniel B.

Yelp
This is a different set up from a Korean bbq place that I'm use too. They have meads, sides, soups all set up buffet style and raw. You go with your plate and bring the meat to your table. The specialty meats you do have to order with the waiter. But other than that everything is good
google avatar

Tara K.

Yelp
Houston has a decent size Korean community. I know this because it has enough to support 3 Korean super markets. As a result they have a decent selection of Korean restaurants. And I love how the bbq restaurants all have a different theme and feel. Jin Korean BBQ is the fourth Korean BBQ place I have tried since moving to Houston. As you can see from the photos, this place is kind of trendy and modern. They have bbq grills at each table. You go up to the "buffet" to get whatever uncooked meats you want and then you grill them yourself. They also have a menu where you can order items they cook for you such as chicken wings. I love that they had LA Garbi too!! I liked how this place also had a huge assortment of side dishes, noodles, rice, veggies, soups, etc. Yes, I had kimchi and it was good. Hahah. The only challenge is making sure we had enough room at our table for 4 people and all their plates. The servers came around regularly to pick up old plates and to check on us. I visited with my boss and two customers over lunch so we didn't hang out long. I would definitely come back, but want to bring my friends or family next time!

Yelp
The selections here are great. You have a buffet style line of options for your raw and some marinated meats, cooked items such as jap chae noodles, fried rice, fried chicken, pickled vegetables, and desert. Once seated, the waiter took our drink order and gave us a menu. La Galbi, shrimp, and chicken wings are on this menu. I highly recommend ordering galbi and the wings. The wings are so big and really flavorful, you can get the sauce on side or tossed - I've tried both options before and you can't go wrong with either. The sauce is spicy but sweet and tangy! These aren't an extra cost! So make sure you get this :) We stuck to the La galbi, wings, white rice, japchae, and marinated bulgogi for most of our dinner and were more than satisfied. I know it's gnat season and all, but I did see a couple gnats near our table and flying around the food, which is always a turn off for me, hence the 3 stars.

Yelp
I have been to Jin in Dallas which was several years ago but when I heard Jin was opening in Houston, I never made an attempt to go because I heard that there was always a long wait time. However I'm glad now that I've been able to go to a few times in the last 2 months. The first time we came in, we were greeted by a gentleman whom seemed like the manager on shift and he seated us quickly in a booth for 2. He explained that it was all you can eat and could go get plates of meat but there were items that we could also order from our waiter. My boyfriend went first to the buffet tables to get some sides and a variety of meat. A waiter had come by to ask for our drinks prior to him going to the buffet tables and then they came by with a can of oil and brush to oil our grill before we put the meat on. We took turns getting a variety of sides, rice, marinated meats and pre-cooked foods like kimchi rice and others. There was really so many types of meats to pick from I didn't get to try everything because I was so full but next time I'll cut back on the rice! There was also all you can eat ice cream which is self service in a cooler and you can pick from strawberry, chocolate and vanilla! I asked my boyfriend to get me a scoop of each flavor in a small cup and it was a great way to end the meal! When we asked for the bill, the waiter brought us the check and 2 cups of a drink to cleanse our palettes which was really nice and refreshing! It's great for large groups or small groups for AYCE and it's really fairly priced, not as expensive as other Korean BBQ places that are in Houston! I can definitely appreciate Jin more now as I've had a better experience going recently! Will definitely be coming back again when I want Korean BBQ!

Yelp
Food: Love the food and how is setup with the combination of AYCE and Buffet style. Buffet have plenty of both BBQ Meat and stir fry, vegetables, rice, noodles, Kimchi, and dessert. AYCE menu have premium meat and fast service. They came to you and ask instead you fight to find waiter or waitress to get you food. This is the MOST I like this place compared to order. Oh, i know it BBQ place but try their Korean Wings. So juice and delicious. Service: already mentioned above. This time, we have the best waitress. She so adorable, helpful, and friendly. She took group and Birthday pictures without us asking. Best of all, there is no time limit for this place. So, we have time to enjoy and have fun after we ate. Don't worries to get kick out. They also not limited how cards you want to use to pay for our dinner. Some places limited to 3-5. Restaurant: clean, plenty of spaces, and most important, it do not smell too much of bbq smokes. Overall, the whole gang enjoy our Birthday party here. Your next, recommended.

Yelp
Three and a half stars? Seriously? I guess you can't please everybody, but I, for one, had my expectations met when the four of us -- my mom, my aunt and my younger brother were with me -- dined here for lunch earlier today. I've had Korean BBQ plenty of times, but this was the first time in which I got to choose my meats instead of someone bringing them to me. Jin has a buffet style setup with stations for said meats, banchan and some Koreanized (huh, is that even a word?) side dishes. It's a pretty nifty concept. The bulgogi beef is the top must-have among what's presented to the diners. It's tender, cooks easy and rich in flavor. I could help myself to plate after plate after plate of the stuff until -- and no pun intended -- the cows come home. I should remember that next time I return here or go elsewhere. The kimchi gets high marks from me as well. And there was a lot to go around. It possessed a strong kick, but didn't set my mouth on fire, which is a good thing. Korean tradition dictates that you're supposed to place your meat in lettuce and eat it like a wrap yet I paired the bulgogi with the kimchi for an even better taste. Our meal was capped by a complimentary dessert that I failed to get the name of. It was delicious nonetheless. Jin for the win!

Yelp
Really nice environment with the blue lighting. Very nice selection of food. Me and my boyfriend truly enjoyed the experience there. Our waiter was really kind and explained everything to make it simple for us. I've been to Japanese bbq but this was a way better experience and more bang for the buck In our opinion . Also local to where we stay so that always makes it better . Thumbs up :)

Yelp
AYCE, so save your appetite for this! They have a buffet with lots of side options- and it is actually really good. Lots of option on the meats - the buffet has some and they have sliced meats on the menu too. We made rsvp for a party of 7 and we got seated quickly with it. I wouldn't recommend walking in with a big group. Overall we had a good experience and we would be back!

Yelp
Food was not bad, but I had better. I have yet to find a favorite kbbq place in houston. Cost is 25.99 a person for dinner (all you can eat). Staff was friendly, however not super attentive. They play kpop music here and the decor looks great.

Yelp
They just recently changed their name to Bon. Best korean buffet ever. Service is stunning. Food is awesome. Tons and tons of raw meats on the buffet. Beef, pork, chicken. Pork belly. Pork chops. In plain, soy sauce marinated and spicy versions. A few more exotic items like tripe, squid and intenstine. Fish at dinner. In addition to that they have meats you can order from the kitchen, like ribeye, shrimp, ribs, beef tongue, thin sliced pork belly, thin sliced beef belly and pork cheeks with garlic. If you don't want to cook your own, they have a steam table with some precooked bulgogi, some stir fried veggies, japchae, rice cakes, corn on the cob, couple other things. Over on the banchan side, they have an excellent assortment. Potato salad, seaweed, kim chi, edamame, tofu, other good stuff. For dessert they have ice cream and sometimes they put out fresh fruit. I've seen watermelon and oranges. They have soju in lots of flavors, the most delicious alcoholic beverage ever! Perfect for drinking with your Korean BBQ. We eat here about once a week, I can't get enough of this place!

Yelp
If youre wondering if Jin is still alive, or did it turn to a new place called Bon KBBQ? The answer is that Jin is Bon KBBQ. Not sure if they rebranded or have a new owner. However, upon asking the waiter, Bon is the new name for Jin and Jin is still Jin BBQ. As to why they changed the name, the waiter was not able to provide me with an answer. He said that because the owner wants to do that, so I assume same owner? Since my review 4 years ago, things was changed drastically, and not in a good way. Although I've heard many bad reviews of Jin from my friends, my fiancee mom insisted to eat here. Here goes nothing! 1. The buffet bar There's a buffet bar in the middle of Jin. The buffet bar consists of salad bar, hot food section, and raw meats. Salad bar, you can find edamame, kimchi, fruits, soup, and the little side dishes that typical Korean restaurant would serve you. The hot food section consist of fried rice, kimchi fried rice, Japchae, Korean Rice cake - Tteokbokki, beef bulgogi, etc... Lastly the raw meat section have raw fish, chicken, sausage, pork and a section for sauce... Since there's not many diners at the time we went (7pm-8pm should be peak hours), the salad bar seems like it has been sitting there for like hours, most of the hot food section were cold and tasteless, and the raw meat section looks super unappetizing. 2. The experience While the buffet bar was not it, there's still the main attraction - the food in which you can order from the server. There's few items that many would order, but the to go order would be Galbi or Kalbi. We ordered the LA Galbi, beef belly, chadolbagi or beef brisket and the pinapple galbi steak. Hows the meat you would ask? The LA Galbi was filled with fat and it taste worst than the select grade beef meat. There was no flavor and did I mention that it was filled with fat? The beef belly tasted like the beef brisket, and the beef brisket tasted like a brick of meat. The grill on the other hand doesnt help with the quality of the meat either. With just one Galbi dish, the grill was sticky, burned and it needs to be changed. At one point the grill was burning from the bottom that the waiter had to change the grill again. One of the unique thing about this buffet is the dessert sweet rice ginger punch, Shikeh. Shikeh was supposed to be good in the past, but it was bland and water down. Overall, this buffet does not have the quality, price point and the attraction for my taste. I would not recommend it - try at your own risk! What I do like about this place is that it has a light switch to call the waiter without screaming your lungs out.

Yelp
My cousin is in town, he's in the military and is on vacation so he wanted to come visit me. My cuz chose this place, at first I told him that I don't like the concept of any type of buffet. He sure proved me wrong because I thoroughly enjoyed my food. The place looks like it has that clubby look to it, very modern layout. We came for lunch which they have the all you can eat 16.99 special, there's a good amount to pick from the buffet area & you can also order other meats/seafood from the server as well. I really enjoyed my food, my favorite was the beef bulgogi. I love the way they marinated & seasoned the beef bulgogi, it was so good that if that's all they had I wouldn't even trip. I was shocked because I'm not a fan of kimchi but the kimchi fried rice was very good. I didn't care for the brisket as it lacked in favor & was so thin, definitely was not a fan of it. Overall the food was good & service was okay so for that 4 stars. Tip: be careful in the amount of food you get, because if you leave behind a lot of leftover food you'll be charged an extra $20. I respect that if you ask me.

Yelp
Always a good place. The sides are good and the drinks are plentiful. Servers always come by and check and the meat is always fresh.

Yelp
This place has a new owner/mangt team and the flavor on the meats taste so much better. We went once pre-Covid almost a year ago... and the food flavors was just ok/so-so. Tonight we thought to give it a try once more time since we didn't want to drive all the way to Long Point for Korean food. I'm so glad I did!! Pleasantly surprised and the food and the service!! Much better than before. For the price, you get flavorful meats, rice and ice cream dessert! Great options! I hope they are able to keep this up!!

Yelp
AYCE kbbq with a lot of options from meats you can cook yourself to already prepared food you can eat hot. I think their price for weekday lunch is very reasonable. They also have happy hour for half off soju during the weekdays early dinner time. There is a neon sign inside the restaurant with more details. The interior is a bit dated looking. Definitely order the LA galbi, it is their best cut of meat, so flavorful. They have a menu with a list of meats that you have to order from the waiter, but they are still ayce. They also have cookable meat in buffet style, where you get up and grab them yourself. For prepared foods, they have rice and noodle dishes, sauced chicken, banchan, corn, fried tempura, soup, etc. A lot of options! All pretty good. For dessert, there is self-serve ice cream in tubs.

Yelp
For $25.99 plus tax, I thought this place was pretty good and reasonable. Yes, the meat is not extremely high quality and I felt the bulgogi wasn't marinated correctly but there are lots of options to choose from and you should leave the place feeling pretty satisfied. I thought the ribs and spicy pork belly were absolutely delicious. The seafood was pretty high quality as well, but for example I wasn't a fan of the bulgogi. Besides that, you'll have to flag down waiters if you would like to order dishes from their specialty menu or to get your grill changed but they were all kind and willing to provide good customer service. I wasn't a fan of the metal grill so make sure to ask for an iron grill since it cooks the meat much better. The ambiance is nice as well.

Yelp
I've come here for a friend's bday dinner on a Saturday night and also a family dinner on Sunday night. Lots of tables and plenty of parking. Great air conditioning so it's not too smelly! All you can eat dinner for $26. Go straight to push the button and order the meats off the menu that they need to bring you. - LA Galbi -4 stars- comes with 3 pieces and some of it can be really fatty but soooo good! - pineapple galbi steak - 3 stars- comes with 2 large pieces. It sounds promising but the cut of the meat is just a bit tough. Would definitely try if you have others to share with but else not worth it. It does come with fresh pineapple. - shrimp - 3 stars - nice big shrimp but you don't really get any special Korean flavor by cooking it here so it's just shrimp. - dessert sweet drink! - I personally love it and wish it wasn't such a tiny little cup (like the kind you brush your teeth with). It's a bit of cinnamon and rice - like a Korean version of horchata! Meats at the counter. calamari -4 stars - surprisingly not tough when you cook it and delicious! Definitely worth trying! Spicy pork belly -4 stars - a little spicy and a little sweet but very tasty! And gotta love pork belly! Miso chicken -4 stars - super tender but it's mostly bc they have some fatty chicken pieces! :o but still a nice sweet grilled chicken. Kinda makes me want to try it at home!

Yelp
This is probably the worst kbbq I've been to. We ordered two beefs and a pork belly and they gave us one plate and took 20 min for the rest of the meat. So wait for us to get full on sides? The plates are so small and so are the portions, but they have a buffet style of the cheaper cuts. Then my bf ask for the check early so he can go back to work but I was still eating. They then told us it's $20 extra if we don't finish. Meats I understand but the sides? Their crappy dry fried rice I was not a fan of and they want to charge 20?! That is robbery. and the little girl that kept checking if we finish the meat instead of refilling our drinks? Do better. Helpful tip, Why don't you tell customers before they are served that you will charge extra if you don't finish sides and or meat so then it will make them not pick up as much? Anyways it's mediocre kbbq nothing amazing and shotty customer service. A man next to us also pointed out these hidden fees that they magically got off his bill after many servers couldn't explain to him what the chargers were. This place is a joke.

Yelp
I have been here several times over the past few years that I've lived here in Texas, but never wrote a review - until now. When you enter the restaurant, you get your temperature checked, and are given gloves. So, from the start, I'm glad that they are taking precautious seriously in terms of COVID. The wait was maybe a 10 minute wait until a table was available. It was a Saturday evening, so it was packed, but 10 minutes isn't too bad of a wait time. After being seated and ordering drinks, you're free to go the "buffet" of meats that you'd like to cook. There were also some items that you can't get from the buffet that you can just order from the online/virtual menu. The meats aren't the highest quality meats, but it definitely fills that Korean BBQ fix and for a decent price too. This place is my normal go-to if I'm craving some cheap, AYCE KBBQ and would highly recommend it as an option in case other KBBQ places are too expensive, too busy, etc.

Yelp
TLDR: Good bang-for-buck ATCE Korean BBQ with very attentive service and clean interior Food: Food was decently good, and I thought definitely worth it at this price point for AYCE. They have buffet bars to grab your own meats to cook/cooked sides, as well as premium meats on the menu to order. You do not have to pay extra for the premium meat! Service: The service here was excellent, especially so for an Asian restaurant. The host was very patient with explaining the concept to us since it was my parents' first AYCE Korean BBQ experience and touring us through the buffet area. Additionally, wait staff was quick to refill our waters and clear our table intermittently. Ambiance: it's super clean and decently nice inside!! They have it dark with neon light throughout, and Kpop music playing on several TVs. Nothing to complain about here.

Yelp
Overall great experience. Parking was not an issue. Went for lunch on a Thursday and getting a seat was not an issue. Temperature check was done at the door as well as gloves were provided. It is a buffet style and you have to wear you mask and gloves when going to the buffet. The meat is raw and you cook it at your table. Service was great and the meat is seasoned very well. There is plenty to chose from and a great deal for $17. The tables are far enough apart where you don't have to worry about distance. So overall a great experience and I would recommend

Yelp
I would say this place is A-OK but don't expect nice quality meats or flavor. You get what you pay for, and for just under $18 a person for lunch, which is what my group came to try, we ate for an hour and a half to two hours before calling it quits. On a weekday during lunch there were more than a handful of tables occupied by eager BBQ-ers. We were instructed on how it works and that the more premium raw meats are not left up for grabs at the self help area but rather by order only. There are a few rows at the self help area which includes both hot and cold apps (precooked bulgogi, spicy pork, dumplings, japchae, rice cakes, kimchi, pumpkin porridge, black beans, potato salad, seaweed salad, fried rice, and more) and side dishes (bean sprouts, pickled cucumbers, edamame, etc), a raw meat area (various marinated beef/pork/chicken), and sauces/condiments (miso/gochujang). The prepared food items were decent but most were very bland. I liked the spicy pork, black beans, pumpkin porridge, and kimchi. The rest were nothing special. As for the raw meats, everything took a long time to cook because the grill is electric. I am used to barbecuing my meats via charcoal or gas. The flavor was also quite weak on the meats and quality less than superior. Even with the so called premium meats including kalbi (which is probably the only cut I enjoyed), it was rather boring. The rest of the meats on the premium portion of the menu came out in miniscule amounts...really sad looking pieces of meat than cook down to almost nothing (see my pics for reference). Oh also, we found some slices of raw meat to have the part where the animal was stamped...and cut it off before grilling it...kind of gross. Service was alright as we started off with one server but then maybe they share tables because we barely saw our first server again. Another person came to our service whenever we flipped on our light with the switch located behind our back most the meal but that person was very friendly and efficient. Overall an inexpensive place to enjoy some KBBQ but don't expect a lot. My favorite KBBQ still remains on Long Point.

Yelp
Very glad to have been presented this place by a fellow Foodie in a totally different media but this is definitely a favorite. You might not want to eat a couple of weeks before coming here because it's one of those places where you would like most of the items and end up leaving begging for Carryout in a wheelbarrow service. They have a pretty decent selection of meats but only thing I miss it's not having hot pot alongside like another place I just reviewed it but you definitely have an advantage on the selections and size here. I have only been here for lunch two times and I believe it is $16 per person. You have your choice of beef, chicken, squid and pork ranging from garlic marinated to spicy along with about 10 or 12 other side items. Service was excellent he first time and the second time was kind of okay so I guess it depends on who is taking care of you. Parking is plenty even though it share it with other businesses. This is a ventilation system so your smoke is going to go up instead of down like some places but you still get the good barbecue effect which does not take away from the Flavor. The only thing I miss is there is not a large seasoning bar but you are limited to spicy or a sesame seed type dipping sauce. This would be a place that I would take a date for conversation purposes and I'm being. If you are in your twenties, the music is probably for you anybody over 40, it might not be your cup of tea. If you happen to stumble here for lunch don't forget there is a menu that has some items that are not on the buffet so don't forget about it okay?
