Browns of Brockley East Dulwich Is a New Cafe on Lordship Lane | Eater London
"A very small, takeaway-only café planned for 43 Lordship Lane in East Dulwich will replace a nearby bakery and concentrate on doing a few things very well: consistently excellent coffee (primarily from Square Mile with occasional guest roasters like Sweden’s Drop or Bath’s Roundhill), a small back-kitchen selection of baked goods, good sandwiches, a serious banana bread and pastries from Little Bread Pedlar. The unit is intended as a simple neighbourhood shop with no firm opening date (a job advert has already expired), and will sit close to neighbours such as Yardsale Pizza, Meatliquor, Dulwich Tandoori and Terroirs." - James Hansen
Best coffee in South London. I'm moving away from Dulwich next week and this will be the thing I miss the most. Wonderful service too. They also try to avoid letting food go to waste with a cheeky free pastry sometimes on the agenda if you arrive just before closing.
I do wish they were open for a little longer until 3pm and that the coffee was a tiny bit cheaper. But neither of those complaints take away from the quality and friendliness. Still well worth it.

This place has one of the best coffees in London, I always go there when I’m in the area. For white, latte and mocha all taste good. Their cake and pastries are also good. Staff always super nice and friendly, really such a lovely whole experience

Coffee is always very delicious and great array of yummy baked goods. Be sure to get there early before bagels sell out!

Fab coffee and amazing cakes! I visited this coffee shop the first time a few weeks back and they gave me some free cakes. These weren’t just any cakes, one was a cinnamon cake/muffin and omg, it was amazing. I went back a couple of times in the preceding weeks but they had sold out of these amazing cakes. I needed to get there earlier. The staff here are also super friendly.
Update: September 2023 - I still visit this coffee shop every week or so and I think it might be in my top few coffee shops. The coffee is still excellent and I love stopping by.

In the neighbourhood to visit one of the shops, and wanted to get some coffee. Not disappointed at all - very happy with my long black and the service was really friendly and casual. Top notch!

Great coffee and lovely service! So glad they’re in the neighbourhood.
One suggestion: it would be great to have a (small) gluten free offering.
