"Bon Macaron is a rainbow of confections. This jovial Victoria bakery also teaches classes on how to make a beloved but fickle almond treat. Traditional flavors include caramel, pistachio, and champagne. More adventurous types can try the tomato basil, sake, blue cheese and pear, or bacon flavors." - Sabra Boyd

Simply delightful experience, and always better when shared ❤️ My family has decided Bon Macaron is the best treat for every special occasion and revel in tasting and comparing each of the flavours. I love seeing all their faces light up when I produce a Bon Macaron box ❤️ Even the grumpy teenagers have a big smile. Thank you for the memories! We look forward to many more boxes and all the ever-evolving flavours. Both I and my sister have also attended the Macaron Workshop and can’t recommend it enough! Such a great way to spend an afternoon- I’d take it again!

I recently took the baking class here and had such a good time. Clean environment, very supportive and upbeat. It was lots of fun and very informational. The savoury macarons were soo incredible (along with the sweet ones I’ve just never had savoury before this). Not a single complaint about this place or their staff! Highly reccomend visiting and trying out the class if you have a chance!

Came here during an Off the Eaten Track food tour. The inside is very colorful and appealing. I really liked the various macaron displays in the windows as it made the place inviting to come in. This place had both sweet and savory macaron options. For our tour we could select any two macarons. I decided on trying some unique sweet ones and picked a Yuzu and Champagne flavor. I was pretty full at the end of the food tour and appreciated these were packaged to go for eating at a later time. These were light, delicate and not too sweet. Some of the other unique flavors others selected included bacon or goat cheese. Prices were also decent for individual macarons.

When I first saw the sign for kimchi macarons, I was curious and decided to give them a try—and now I regret not trying them sooner! From the texture to the flavor, everything was absolutely perfect. The flavor was far beyond what I imagined; the kimchi macaron was incredibly rich and had no sense of mismatch at all. It’s honestly the best macaron I’ve ever had! My top picks are matcha and kimchi. I hope more people get to try them!

If you are looking for some fun, unique and different to do, I highly suggest participating in one of their workshops. It's an experience I throughly enjoyed, along with the macarons! 😋

Google
I've been enjoying macarons from Bon Macaron Patisserie for several years, and they've never disappointed with any flavor. Earl Grey, watermelon, matcha, yuzu, and taro are among my favorites. While I prefer chewier macarons, Bon Macaron consistently maintains high quality. You'll enjoy this place too!

Our daughter had a blast celebrating her 9th birthday at Bon Macaron with her friends and family. She said it was the ‘best birthday party ever!!’ The staff are fantastic and make the party fun and very interactive for the kids. I highly recommend planning a birthday party at Bon Macaron!

I just did a tasting event with my husband and some friends and it was outstanding. I assumed we were going to have 7 macarons with drink pairings - it was so much more. Possibly the most inventive, exciting food I've ever had, and I'm a foodie. Whatever you think this event is, you're wrong in the best way. I'll be attending again for their seasonal menus.

Yelp
I hardly have the words to describe how sublime their macarons are. If heaven were in a single bite, this would be it. I ordered a pack of eight and gobbled down my four right outside the establishment. I chose mango habanero, Nutella, chocolate decadence, and pineapple mango. They were all divine, and the pineapple mango was my favorite. Service was a bit chilly, which surprised me. Perhaps the young woman at the counter was having a bad day. The store was easily accessible, clean, bright, and inviting. I'm in love!

Angel H.

Yelp
Very cute shop. Macarons were delicious when fresh. The macarons were a little on the small side compared to most places that we tried. Interesting flavors that tasted fresh and authentic.

Natasha L.

Yelp
Omigosh, this little shop is amazing! We ordered a 12-pack with 12 different macaron flavors. Each one has been delicious! I wish we were in Victoria longer, so we could try every flavor.

Anna L.

Yelp
I went to this place last wednesday. I was really exited because of the good reviews it had. I bought a box of macarons and received a poor treatment from the owner that left my expectations on this place broken. As a plus I noticed his treatment to his employees rude not a good ambiance to work. when I tried to eat a macaroon I found a hair in one of them, which is what spilled the water. definitely overrated

Denise W.

Yelp
I love their macarons here. B's best friend was getting married and they ordered macarons for desserts at Bon Macarons Patisserie for desserts. Wow were they delicious. They were soft and fluffy Everything was freshly made. I really liked the vanilla Nutella flavor one.

May B.

Yelp
Full disclosure: I have never eaten here as somehow I never seem to end up in downtown Victoria when the shop is open - BUT THE WINDOW!! I always make a point to come see what their display is like!! It turns out, there are endless ways to arrange small round desserts into creative little scenes and structures and I always get a smile from the latest displays. Hopefully one day I'll get to try one!

Yelp
I am still reeling from this stop. I bought 42 macarons and I kindof wish I bought 60. The savory macarons are interesting and good in a weird way: I want more goat cheese and fig! My favorites surprised me- citrus explosion is phenomally bright and delicious. I also loved tiramisu, and the salted caramel was unreal. This is the most absurdly affordable macaron place I've found, and the macarons are so so worth it.

Jocelyn C.

Yelp
$18 CAD for 12 mini macarons?? Uhhhh yes??? Contrary to what someone said, these all have plenty of flavor. Sitting here waiting for the ferry for two hours, I've already eaten pistachio, vanilla, Creek brûlée, and blue (whatever the hell flavor that is, tastes like Fruity Pebbles), and they all have flavor. I think they are definitely too sweet though, and most Asians would probably agree based off of tastes. If you love macarons, this is a great stop while in town. Laduree and Bouchon are better, but the taste of these are still nice, and you're supporting a local business. Affordable, and they wash down nicely with a cup of coffee. Plenty of flavors to choose from.

Elaine Y.

Yelp
Came in and was surprised by the flavors offered. Most were flavors that you don't find anywhere else! Case in point, the row of SAVORY flavors that were available were screaming my name to try! Despite knowing that macarons have a low shelf life (eat them within 3 days or else they lose their cloud-like quality) I still went ahead and bought way too many - not to share either. The flavors were subtle, but still recognizable in all the macarons I had. There was even a handy-dandy card available to help you identify them - each flavor has its own unique design after all! My favorites: White Truffle Sea Salt, Earl Grey (Savory) Hazelnut & Passion Fruit, Peach Melba (Sweet) Macarons were sold at $1.50 a piece (generally cheaper than the US) and there was a volume discount. You can also purchase any quantity you wish, though they do have advertised quantities as well (fits the boxes better).

Elena N.

Yelp
Yum! I love macarons, but at the same time, I'm very picky about them. The flavors need to be pack a punch, but not be overly sweet. And the texture needs to have a toothsome chew. The worse thing is having a crumbly macaron! Bon Macaron Patisserie satisfied my macaron needs in every way! I only wished I could have gotten more! Since I'm a huge fan of fruit macarons, I decided to get a 12 pack ($18) of: -Sour cherry -Banana flambe -White chocolate & passion fruit -Strawberry & mango -Blueberry lemon -Black currant & grapefruit -Cantaloupe -Peach Melba -Apple & pear -Orange blossom -Rose -White truffle & sea salt Since I'm not the hugest fan of sweet and savory, I got the last one for my baby cousin. Okay, he's not really a baby, but he's always the youngest one around all us old fogies! He actually ended up getting 2 more at $1.50 each. He got Bubblegum & Salted caramel. I really wish I could have gotten one of each, but there was no way I could eat them all in one day. And since these are fresh, they wouldn't have been the same. :( If you're a fan of macarons and in Victoria, you need to come by Bon Macaron Patisserie!

Mckenna N.

Yelp
Yes yes yes! I love macaroons! 18$ for 12? Sure! Try the goat cheese and fig, not very strong on the goat cheese. They have so many to try and the owners are from France! They know what they're doing!

Carol T.

Yelp
Best macarons - keep chilled. Too bad none in Seattle. Great service. Loved visiting while in Victoria!

Kerri T.

Yelp
Holy crap, I just died and went to macaron heaven! The flavor varieties were incredible. The lady who helped us was informative and very nice. I would travel back to Victoria from Utah just to get these delicious treats. Hidden little gem in a beautiful place!

Sara R.

Yelp
Wow...just WOW. Agreed with a couple of the other reviewers here. I understand some Canadians think this is expensive, but you have to understand a dozen macarons of ANY size in Portland, OR/USA would go for at least $30 USD a dozen! I got a dozen for $13 USD, approximately $15 CAD. Additionally, a lot of the patisseries where I live just simply sell out of macarons within a couple to a few hours. Lame! This place had an ENDLESS supply of them and choices. These were truly the best macarons I've ever had...so flavorful. My husband's favorite was the pineapple basil. Definitely a unique one to try. I like the original flavors more than anything, and I was really obsessed with the tiramisu one. To boot, the girl helping us was very friendly. Can't wait to come back to Victoria and try it again!

Anna S.

Yelp
They have interesting flavors and it taste pretty true to description which is amazing to me. The savory selection is a must try. I was pleasantly surprised by the pineapple basil. It's a really simple little patisserie inside. The prices are great compared to California! We went on a Tuesday morning and they were very nice to us. I had a talkative 4 year old with me and they entertained him without looking bothered, which is always a plus. Great customer service! Wish there was one back home!

Krystal Y.

Yelp
I was skeptical about coming here, because I've tasted some of the best macarons in the world - La Maison Du Macaron (Montreal), Ladurée (Paris), and Pierre Hermé (Paris)... but it was actually pretty good. Best I've had in BC so far, that's for sure. And the store comes complete with a nice French guy at the counter. :) I paid $18 for 12 ($1.50 each), and think it was worth it. The different flavours were impressive, and not over powering. The white chocolate wasabi was very nice, as was the curried mango chutney. But my favourite was pistachio! Will definitely be back the next time I'm in town.

Rachael K.

Yelp
Everything I expected. Gorgeous macarons with amazing flavors. I love the decor of this little shop, especially the paintings in the wall. The rose flavor was my favorite. The white chocolate passion fruit was great but more white chocolate than passion fruit. Tiramisu was good as well. If you don't like sweets too sweet try to savory bacon and cream cheese. My husbands fave of course.

David Y.

Yelp
$1.50 per smallish macaron with unique flavors that really comes through. They offer both sweet options and savory options. Most of the macarons can last for several days but some that contains cream cheese can only last a day or two at the most. Expensive but probably the best tasting I've had. I could have easily popped these ones into my mouth but unfortunately had to share with my wife. Perfect chewiness with the right portion of fillings on the inside. There flavors change weekly. Definitely a must visit for the experience and if you love macarons.

Ha T.

Yelp
Love the Macaron at this shop so much I got a tower for my wedding. I emailed them for an inquiry and Yann emailed me back with answers to all my questions and I put a $25 deposit down. The week of my wedding I came into the shop to pick out the flavors I want for my tower. You can special order the colors and flavors you want for 50 cent more a macaron but I just choose the on shelf flavors to save money. I especially like all the sour flavors to balance out the sweetness which happens to be the colors I need for my tower. The whole process went pretty well. I also ordered a naked cake from cakes etc. to put on top of my tower and it turned out beautifully. Hope to be back in Victoria again so I can get more macarons!

Amanda N.

Yelp
Small cute little macaron shop. Many varieties to choose from. Best deal is to get a dozen for $18. Nice artwork on the walls, great display pic posted on instagram @amanda.n_

Yelp
Best macaron shop in Victoria hands down! Located right downtown, I was sad I only came to this little shop once during my entire month in Victoria. Since it's a small shop they had your regular amount of macaron selection which wasn't too big so allows you to try most of their offerings. Although presentation wise isn't on par with your other macaron shops - it's a plain white box with no macaron holders inside - the taste and flavour of their macarons totally make up for it. This is a true example of beauty is skin deep, er, should I say box deep in this case? The texture of the macarons was very close to maracrons straight from France as well! I'm quite pleased I found this place and got the chance to check it out! A lot of the locals I spoke to also recommended this place to me as well. How perfect is it that I found such an amazing macaron shop in Victoria while studying French there?

Hannah A.

Yelp
So these Macarons are cheap, which I initially thought was a great deal. I'm used to Lady Yum in Seattle, which are phenomenal but more expensive. However if you've had other French macarons, Bon Macaron ain't it. There seem to be more savory flavors and the texture is off. They are more chewy than flaky and some of the flavors are either very bland or alarming. I'm not sure how else to describe the truffle flavor, other than that. A little like spoiled milk. Some of the flavors are fine but I honestly could not distinguish between vanilla, creme brule and tiramisu. Do not recommend any of the cheese ones. If you are craving something sweet, I recommend Murchies instead.

A're M.

Yelp
Thank you Bon Macaron for the BEST macaroons I have EVER tasted. I've tried them in Paris, San Francisco, Athens (GR), and in many other places. Yours are divine. Initially, I bought several triple packs for friends and family. I only gave a few away. And after taking a bite of my daughters macaroon, the two of us finished off the rest. Bon Macaron, our compliments to the chef for using the best quality, making these light, fluffy, bursting with flavor delights. Cant wait to come back to Victoria and taste the other many variety of flavors in your store.

Grant M.

Yelp
I love macarons! I want to love these macarons but there's not a ton of flavor in them. We had trouble guessing the flavors for each when we ate them later. A couple were obvious (pistachio) but most were not. The texture is decent though.

Courtney B.

Yelp
You MUST try the goat cheese and fig macaron. Its savory and sweet. I am not a huge macaron fan but I couldnt help and gobble these down. I might need to go back a buy a whole pack of goat cheese and fig macarons.

L S.

Yelp
... I know the residents of CA are saying this is expensive, but compared to the USA (where macarons start at $2.. which would be $2.62 in Canadian Dollars) these macarons are a high-end bargain. Not to mention: THESE ARE PARIS-QUALITY. These macarons are better than any macarons that I have tasted in the United States, and I have macarons every few days because I am gluten-free... so most weeks of the year, they are the only sweet indulgence that I have. And thus, I have tried them in many different states and countries. Both owners are from France; they know what they are doing. The flavors both sweet and savory are impressive in both the execution of the flavor and texture of the macaron. Moreover, I have never seen such an assortment of flavors all at once (since I was in Paris). Sometimes I taste macarons and the flavors clearly taste like an imitation of that fruit or sweet, but these taste authentic to their labeled flavors. I most enjoyed the white truffle and the fig flavored one. As a cantaloupe addict, that one was fantastic along with the salted caramel, a true must-buy, if you enjoy caramel. I thought I was back in Paris! I cannot recall which owner was working at the time, but he had fabulous suggestions for flavors to buy and was very patient. Exceptional customer service!!--just like Paris. Canadians are so fortunate to have this store; I wish they would move it to Washington. My only suggestion would be perhaps to add a few small white cafe tables--it would make the space more inviting--otherwise there was nowhere to taste my macarons, but the macarons and service were impeccable so still 5 stars+!!!

Callie M.

Yelp
Be prepared to drool! These delicious morsels come in dozens of flavours and they add new ones all the time. As an already enthusiastic customer, I was thrilled to be treated to the macaron making class with my daughter. It was fun, delicious and Chris was a patient instructor. What a great way to spend an afternoon! Thanks Bon Macaron.

Kathleen N.

Yelp
Didn't really know what I was getting myself into upon walking in, but they had so many interesting flavors (including savory ones! Whaaaat) that I went for a box of 6: -- Goat Cheese & Fig: Wow, who would've thunk to put these complementing cheese plate pairings into a cookie? Surprisingly delicious. -- White Truffle & Sea Salt: Again, who would've thunk?! There was a subtle shroomy taste that polished off with a hint of salt. Yums. -- Taro & Blueberry: This one was kind of disappointing since it tasted just like fruity cream but without any distinguished taro or blueberry flavors. -- Creme Brulee: This was very yummy and they even lightly torched the shell! -- Peach Melba: Pleasantly refreshing and fruity. -- Matcha: Had a nice green tea taste; yummy, too! Clearly they have perfected their craft, marrying odd flavors that just worked!

Pascal C.

Yelp
This place is amazing, the owners are always happy to tell you all about the flavors, and are absolutely passionate about their business. I have been going here for almost 3 years now and I have not once ever been disappointed. I recently did one of their classes, which may have been one of my favorite experiences in a cooking classroom setting ever, they guide you through every step and even give you recipes to try at home! Overall you must try Bon Macaron, you will not be disappointed, and with all of their flavors being mostly from local flower shops and stores it is always homegrown and beautiful none the less.

Tala W.

Yelp
I love Macarons, but I've always had trouble finding a place to purchase them, and they are not an easy thing to bake. This place fits the bill perfectly! The owners are very charming people who obviously care about what they do. I loved the Strawberry/Mango, Earl Gray, Pistachio and Mandarin. Perfectly baked with the raised "foot", crisp shell, chewy interior and a smooth flavourful buttercream. If anything the shop is a bit out of my student budget, and they are a tad too sweet (though they need that sugar for structural purposes). I'll be coming back for more, Im curious about the savoury choices.

Atticus F.

Yelp
There's something about eating a little macaron (pronounced MACKA-ROHN not MACKA-ROON) that just fills you with joy. Ahhh life, it's a good thing. Maybe it's the vivid colors. Maybe it's our tastebuds being so entertained, never getting bored, from sweet to savory. Or maybe it's the texture that makes one feel like they have bitten into a fluffy cloud in heaven. Whatever it is, it's been about 5 months since my visit in March and I'm still thinking about this place.

Calley M.

Yelp
Definitely the best macarons in Victoria not to mention up to par with many I've had in France! The flavours are so fun and there's tons of variety!

Emme P.

Yelp
great prices and unique flavors. They actually come out to a little over 1 USD for each, and on average they cost around 2+ USD. Their macs actually taste like the flavor they are and not just sweet sugary. I ordered mostly fruity ones and was very happy =D

Mirah I.

Yelp
I just visited yesterday with my grandmother and we had a really wonderful time. Beautiful displays outside, and such a great variety of flavors inside. This was my grandmother's first time trying macarons and the owner was very kind and accommodating in answering her many questions before I was allowed to pick out some flavors. I know she absolutely loved the traditional chocolate macaron, but I was intrigued by the unusual savory flavors. The sriracha macaron is weirdly perfect: bright red color and a strong sriracha kick that doesn't overpower the delicate texture of the macaron. I also want to add that when I joked with my grandmother that I would take her to Ladurée in Paris, the owner mentioned that these macarons were better. I've sampled Ladurée macarons in a variety of cities, and these were far superior and tasted much fresher. Vive les macarons!

Ann S.

Yelp
I couldn't wait to get here!!! Selection was a bit overwhelming--not a bad thing. Id never heard of a savory macaron, they offered Asian, syriacha, hummus, bacon & maple and several others. The traditional flavors were lovely as a well as a few unique ones such as early grey, lemon/lavender, pear, berry/basil. Prices were reasonable for these labor intense delicious numminess, $1.50 each. However, I would have liked to seen a bakers dozen.

Corrie T.

Yelp
So many flavors, only one mouth! I wanted to try them all- they were all so beautiful looking. I finally selected 6 flavors which were all really good (white chocolate/passion fruit, peach Melba, sour cherry, orange mimosa, mint chocolate and blueberry lemon). Blueberry lemon was my favorite. They are a little cheaper than the ones in Seattle but they are also a little smaller. I'd like to go back and try the rest of them now.

K C.

Yelp
The macarons here are some of the best ones I've had both in Victoria and over in Vancouver. Lots of flavours and the texture as well as the sweetness level of the macarons are just right. If I had the money, I would buy these everyday for dessert that's how good they are. The staff there are super friendly and definitely not afraid to chat you up or give you suggestions on flavours and makes the visit that much better.

Zelo C.

Yelp
Not too sweet and tastes just like the flavor is suppose to be. The French owner is very nice and friendly. I wanted to try the white chocolate Wasabi but he told me they switch flavors every week.

Sean K.

Yelp
Cute little place with attractive decor. The macarons we tried were all very tasty and flavourful. If you want something other than macarons, then you will have to go elsewhere. Absolutely recommended for those times when you feel the need for a little indulgence.

Amanda B.

Yelp
Amazing! Super friendly staff. We got a 12 pack and they didn't make it through the night. Chai, pistachio, chocolate peanut butter, Oreo...so much tastiness! I want to go back!

Dalvir B.

Yelp
Hands down the best macarons in Vancouver for both taste and price! I've been to Paris and have tasted some authentic, quality macarons and I can easily say these are the real deal in town. They taste fresh and are made with quality ingredients. The flavours come out exactly as they are described. My favourites flavours: White Chocolate & Passion Fruit, Coffee, Yuzu and Salted Caramel. The service is exceptional. $1.50/macaron or you can get packs (trio, six, twelve, thirty, etc.) I hope they think of expanding their business to a sit-down place w/ tea, coffee, etc.

Mark M.

Yelp
I agree with all who comment on the expense of the macarons. They should be half the price that they are. I tried the bacon flavoured ones and was skeeved out by chewy pieces of what seemed to be undercooked meat in it.

Jenn M.

Yelp
What a wonderful shop! The man that assisted us was truly lovely, and a very good guide. Would DEFINITELY Suggest going here on your next outing!

Melissa C.

Yelp
We had macrons delivered for our wedding, planned from out of country. The staff was helpful and delivered as expected. The macrons were incredible! Everyone loved them!!! Thank you for helping to make our wedding memorable. I look forward to anniversary visits in the future! Yum.

Courtney D.

Yelp
Let me start by saying I am definitely a sweets person and love a good macaroon. I found this place here on Yelp and wanted to stop by while in town. The shop is small and basically had a counter with macaroons. They had a few savory options and a bunch of sweet ones. The macaroons themselves were pretty good. We tried a bunch and the pasticcio was probably my favorite. The salted caramel was a bit too salty and the vanilla was a little plain etc. The staff were super nice and friendly but not the best macaroons I've had. The outside was too crispy. Probably 3.5 stars.

Nadia L.

Yelp
This local macaroon shop is adorable. There are so many selections and the owner is very polite. His macaroons are the best I've ever had.

Chas H.

Yelp
Now, I've never tried these before so, I have zero basis for comparison but I had three different macarons and they were delightful! Wasabi & white chocolate, tiramisu, and pistachio. I would concede that they're the perfect dessert: the sweetness and flavour that you crave, with just enough to satisfy without overindulging. Wish they were open later. I will return!

Amanda J.

Yelp
I was hosting a tea party, and stopped by to grab some delicious macarons. They were pretty amazing (delicate melt-in-your-mouth kind of amazing) and were snapped up way too quickly. Thankfully, the lovely French gentleman at the counter had given me a free macaron when I made the purchase earlier in the day, so I was able to enjoy as well. I will be back whenever a special occasion calls or I just need a tasty little pick-me-up.

Karen L.

Yelp
Good place for macarons. This shop is super cute, and the macarons aren't too expensive. We had 6 flavors: chocolate explosion, salted caramel, earl grey, strawberries & champagne, pistachio, and espresso. All of them were good, albeit too sweet, and my favorite was the strawberries and champagne.
