I would give it 4 stars but the pitas are so darn good that it has to get 5 stars. You've never eaten a pita like this. Thick, warm and fluffy- delicious! If you choose to "plate it", the bowls are generously sized and the food has excellent flavor. Lots of great choices for your protein. I wish there were a couple more choices for toppings to add. They have a great drink bar but the smoothies are crazy expensive. Great variety of seating choices if you eat your food there.

Great atmosphere inside. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Terrific value with fresh food, some of the best pita bread I've ever had, bowls and pitas packed with your choice of protein and other flavorful fillings. Stumbled in today for first time but will most certainly be back soon.

I would eat at Bonapita everyday, had it been close to where I live. Their “Fill It” pitas are amazing, my personal favorites are chicken la plancha, black bean and beet. My daughter loves the chicken schnitzel… The pita is their USP, soft, warm and delicious. They also give hummus and a green chutney on the side which enhances the flavor of the pita sandwich. The owner is very friendly, he even offered us the Moroccan spicy hummus at no extra charge. Give it a try if you are in west Roxbury, ample sitting inside and outside and plenty of parking spots. I really enjoyed my meal here! I had been wanting to try this place ever since it opened, and finally got around to going today around lunch time. I'm so glad I did! They had 3 options for how you wanted your meal. First you pick your protein and then you get to choose to either have it packed in the pita bread, have it in a bowl with rice and veggies, or have it tossed in a salad. They recommended the pita bread but I decided I wanted chicken in a bowl with the rice. It came in a big serving with the pita bread on the side. I thought my meal was delicious and will definitely be going back. The atmosphere was really nice as well! They have two counters to order from. One is for the food, and the other is for coffee/smoothes/etc. The service was fantastic as well. We were greeted when we came in the door, had the different options explained to us, and they even brought us cups of water to our table, which was supposed to be self serve, and it was very nice of them! The owner came out and seemed to make it a point to talk to every customer to make sure they were enjoying their meals. Overall: food was delicious, atmosphere was very nice, and the service was fantastic. I will definitely be going back!

Really great experience here. The restaurant is clean and has a fun atmosphere. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming (Owner Ilan is a mensch). But most importantly, the food is delicious. Make sure to get extra of the best pita bread you will have this side of the Jordan. Glad to have such a great place in the neighborhood. Will definitely be back. Thank you!

Incredibly fresh made from scratch Mediterranean food. The only place in the area that makes real, fluffy pitas, and not the dry thin ones served everywhere else. The owner is super friendly and always gives great service. They also have a neat coffee area with some pastries, very high quality coffee

This place is one of the best for Sharwarmas and pitas! Freshly made pita bread like they described, their tahini is actually tahini and not tahini water, the green hot paste (Xhug) is great, reminds me of indian cilantro based chutney. And the portions of tahini and green hot paste are great! Thank you for the good food, will definitely be reordering.

Prior to the pandemic, Bonapita was my favorite lunch spot in downtown Boston. Sadly, they have not reopened that location, but I finally got a chance to swing by this location for dinner. The menu is updated a little, but the one constant is the high quality, fresh, and very flavorful food. I rarely order salads at restaurants, but I cannot resist their chopped salad with chicken a la plancha. It's so good! Their warm, fluffy pita is heavenly, as is their creamy hummus and tahini. One of my few criticisms is that I wish they were more generous with their tiny sides of hummus, tahini, zhug, pickled turnips, etc. Those accoutrements really make the meal, and a $15 salad can quickly turn into a $20+ meal which seems a little steep for a fast casual concept. The quality and taste will keep me coming back.

I ordered the weekday/family meal - chicken a la plancha with an extra order of falafel. The food was all fresh and lasted for 2 dinners and a lunch. The chicken and green beans were delicious and the pita was perfect. My kids loved the falafel too! Highly recommend, I would eat here every week!

I finally tried this place after passing it a bunch of times and it was really fresh and tasty! I got a Toss it (salad) which was huge with lettuce, cucumber, cabbage, carrots, and really good falafel freshly made to order. It came with a fluffy pita, lemon olive oil & tahini. I also got a side of hummus which was really good, and the cauliflower. The owner was also really sweet.

I have never had pitas this delicious, fresh (still warm even though I had it delivered) and fluffy. It's difficult to eat store bought pitas now. The chicken a La Plancha had really good flavor. The falafels were crispy and addictive. I've been trying to find comparable falafels ever since and they have fallen short. I also got baked empanadas which I enjoyed. I might prefer them to fried empanadas. I love that this establishment gives back to the community and allow customers to also give a meal!

The pita is AMAZING here but everything else was underwhelming to be completely honest. It all tasted fresh but it was lacking flavor. It seemed like it was going to be amazing but I was honestly disappointed. I don't think I'd come back here unless it was for the pita. I was super excited based off of reviews and pictures but was disappointed.

I love bonapita! Took a solo motorcycle ride from Providence on my birthday to get bonapita for lunch while my gf and friends were working because it is that good. I always the toss it with chicken a la plancha and it never disappoints. I used to work in Boston and I would visit Bonapita 3-4 times a week during lunch. The salads ingredients are always fresh and the people are always very kind. Price may seem high to some but for the quality of food, you can't beat it. I also can't forget about the fresh, pillowy soft pitas that you get with your meal. Do yourself a favor, save some time from waiting in line again and just get the bag of pita's when you order your meal. They are THAT good!

Went with my boyfriend for lunch today. Wasn't very hungry due to the heat, so I Only ordered a side of hummus (bf ordered chicken pita with the works which was delicious). I asked a lot of questions about the menu: is hummus made here? Is falafel bake or fried? The manager, actually I believe the co-owner was so incredibly kind and gracious, he actually brought me over a side of falafel because he wanted me to try it. It was delicious and just such a kind gesture. And yes the hummus was amazing! I only like fresh hummus and this was a stand-out. I will absolutely go back and try more-definitely the shashuka for sure! Thank you so much. Great experience.

The West Roxbury location is a great place to eat. Cool atmosphere and place for smaller groups to hang if you are looking for something quick and good. Almost has a Chipotle like feel. Overall, I thought the food here was great. It was about what I expected. Not anything out of the ordinary in my opinion but still done well. I thought the falafel lacked a little flavor, but surprisingly it was the vegetables and potatoes that they give you when you order the "Plate It" option that I really liked. Also, probably my favorite part of the meal. Pita bread was fluffy and not too dry. You should be able to walk away from this place fairly content with your meal. The staff was great and helpful at helping us through the menu after we mentioned it was our first time eating there.

The place and the food is great here. Right entering into the door, i looked lost. The owner saw me and explained everything to me. From the choices of meat to the sides. He was so kind. And a great added bonus that the food was amazing. I had the salad with chicken, hummus, and chickpeas

I used to love Bona Pita and have been a loyal customer at the Downtown location (which is now closed). Unfortunately the west Roxbury location does not meet these standards. I ordered in and received drinks that are *past the expiration date*. Beyond that I received a pita only a 1/3 filled. See pictures attached. I would not recommend this to anyone. Very disappointing in so many ways.

During these strange times it's great to find a restaurant maintaining high standards and providing wonderful takeout experiences. In the past few weeks we've enjoyed the food from Bonapita a number of times. Our particular favorites are the chicken la plancha and Sabich in pita. Each is served with extra tahini and spicy zhoug on the side. Mighty good stuff! A special treat are the French fries as an extra side. There's nothing ordinary about these fries. They're the best around! Finally the staff is invariably friendly and helpful, adding to a great experience. Well done Bonapita!

Very disappointed. Based on reviews I expected good to great. Ordered 3 items, threw out after a few bites. Falafel dry and tasteless. Salad soggy. Pita sandwich almost no veggies or dressing. Highly recommend finding another place to eat.

Disappointing food. Small portions. This was somehow grouped under "healthy" on Grubhub and had five stars. Maybe they're good with pitas. We ordered entrees and they were overcooked, flavorless cheap cuts of dried out chicken and falafel. Disappointingly small portions for a $140 order. Won't be ordering from here again.

Get the chicken schnitzel sandwich. Just do it. If you're veg, get the falafel sandwich. They are delicious. (Salads here are meh, btw. The bread is the shining glory here.) The pita is out of this world. Luckily, they sell it by the bag. Do yourself a favor: order yourself a sandwich for now and some groceries. That's what I usually do. I get the sandwich + bread, tahini sauce, tzadziki, and extra pickles.

Outstanding! Ordered on line for pick-up. Had the falafel fill-up, and an order of hummus. Great pita. Very filling, I could not finish it. Order was ready and perfect. Looking forward to my visit. I regret not having tried this restaurant sooner.

Best pita bread in the entire Boston area and beyond. Also great falafel, and the meatballs are delicious!! The kids get healthy options every time, plenty of space for the kids to enjoy while we continue eating. They also have a full espresso bar and great ice cream!

Not one for writing reviews but I don't want to see this place go like the last three tenants did... bona pita is it! A wholesome meal that is healthy, delicious, and sure to fill you up. I work in the city and often eat lunch at their Downtown crossing location after I saw it on The Phantom Gourmet. I go for the Fill it w Chicken with the sweet and spicy slaw that they only have at this location. Long live West Roxbury Bona Pita!

It's a Monday, I forgot my lunch at home. Ordered the FILL IT chicken a la plancha and it was great! Got it delivered so it arrived a bit lukewarm. The chimichurri sauce is delicious but spicy (which I liked). Overall, solid meal

Worth a try! Im so happy a healthy fast food option came to West Roxbury! This is a traditionally a burger, pizza joint kind of town. I had a bowl with rice, veggies, lentils and meatballs. It came with a fresh baked pita and I didn't feel bad after I ate it!! They have a bar with coffees and smoothies. It's also a clean nice place to eat. Do your grocery shop at Star and reward yourself with this fresh and yummy option!

This new place was awesome! We were greeted by the manager who guided us through the menu. My husband got a meatball plate, I got a stuffed pita with chicken and all kinds if yummy fresh veggies, hummus, and the freshly baked pita bread was the best Ive ever had! I had to buy some to go. We ended with a small frozen custard, similar to soft serve ice cream, 100 times better. We are so glad we tried bonapita, and we will be back! Service was excellent!

Delicious! My wife and I split a meatball plate and a chicken plate, both with all the fixings. Only empty plates left. The warm pita bread was a great touch, and they weren't joking that the green sauce was spicy. Excellent lunch!

I highly recommend. The food here is super tasty. The place is clean and I feel at-home in the space. I got the black beans and beets stuffed in pita. The pitas here are above perfect. The flavors of the food almost make me forget to use the spicy herb hot sauce on the side. But no I cannot forget the hot sauce. I got an americano too to wash it all down which was also quite good. They make me feel like I want to come back for more tomorrow.

The food is very fresh, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is very comfortable. The music is background music so you can really have a conversation. Loved the creamy hummus, delicious vegetables, out-of-this-world freshly baked pita bread. The only disappointment was the vegan falafels which tasted very high in sodium. If you want an amazing restaurant and don't mind the salt content in the falafels I would give it 5 stars.

This is by far the best falafel and pita you can find. In addition, all Ilan's food is delicious, freshly made and make you feel so good! The rice with veggies are amazing, the meatballs, the bourekas (whenever is offered), everything! Ilan is the most kind and welcoming person! The kitchen is super clean, every single tiny detail is well thought and you can tell that Ilan cares so much about this place and people that are always coming back.

Best pita bread !!! Love the Humus, salad, cauliflower, Tahini. Everything is very fresh and full of flavors, also the Kids really enjoyed the chicken tenders, exactly what we needed!! Highly recommended, for families, kids, vegetarians and any foodie out there.

I previously experienced a mistake happen with my order, but the care BONAPITA took to correct it was more than I could ask for! They refunded me and gifted me with an entire meal that was incredibly delicious. I've never ate a pita so soft and highly recommend their Tzatziki! Will be eating here again!

The food is fresh, but a little too salty. The bathroom is not properly stocked with toilet paper and I got in a sticky situation as a result. Very unprofessional and embarrassing. Check the toilet paper before you go! Lastly, the staff is a little weird. The staff was standing outside chit chatting in an empty restaurant while I waited for toilet paper. My husband had to go get some from the other bathroom for me. By the time we came out, I asked why they didn't go back to give us toilet paper. The girl's response was "I asked him to do it " and pointed to the kitchen. Well, honey, he didn't do it and we waited 10 minutes. So lazy!

Everything here is absolutely delicious! My usual go to favorites are the zucchini and chickpea falafel, or the grilled eggplant with hard-boiled egg on a salad. I simply don't think you can go wrong here. The fresh baked pita bread is out of this world! The salad dressing is amazing! Lots of vegan options are available, too with fresh high-quality ingredients. The restaurant is spotless, casual, and inviting. The service is always helpful and friendly.

The food is fresh and delicious here and very authentic Mediterranean Food. The customer service is great and I look forward to my next meal here. Do yourselves a favor and have Lunch/Dinner here. Great local business. Fresh food, prepared in a healthy way. The service is always personable, and the owner recognized me from just several previous visits over the last few years (plus more when he wasn't there). I appreciate the compostable bowls and paper takeout boxes but recognize the convenience of plastic for some of the takeout components (lids, sauces, hot proteins) as possible. Our usual order is a "plate it" (really a bowl) with meatballs and an "extra protein" serving of more meatballs or plancha chicken, also a "toss it" with falafel (and "extra protein" of more falafel). The meatballs are tender and delicately spiced (with thyme and a bit of turmeric, I believe). The falafel are small, crunchy, and a nice bright green on the inside. Another user criticized Bonapita for having the dressings and proteins packaged separately, but doing so avoids having the warm protein or pre-dressing wilt the greens in the salad. The pita is thick and pillowy, sturdy enough to stand up to fillings instead of cracking and crumbling like commonly occurs with thin pita. Bonapita had added some items that I hadn't seen previously. We added a chicken skewer (well-seasoned and tender, but a bit of their fantastic hot sauce took it to another level), part of a feta/kalamata quiche (other options included mushroom and French onion), and a spinach boureka (they also have cheese and potato) that we'll enjoy over the next few days.

Absolutely loved Bonapita. Not sure how it slipped through our fingers for all this time. Especially during COVID. What a resource for takeout and delivery! Very fresh, tasteful and well presented. The pita is like nowhere else. Try the pita filled with Chicken a la Plancha. My wife liked the chicken kabobs. Liked that their sides and sauces were not loaded with garlic. Mild and flavorful hummus and Tzatziki. Others overwhelm with garlic and dill. Can't wait to order again.

While laid up @ the VA Hospital, my Nurse & I were talking local food & she mentioned Bonapita. She was going there for a break during her shift w me & asked if I wanted takeout instead of the usual hospital food. I browsed the menu online & needless to say I was not disappointed. I got the fresh meatball stuffed pita w the fixings (asked for spicy) and a side of fried falafel balls. Was wondering if a pita & small side would fill me up - it sure did. The good thing is the fresh pitas were not flimsy & falling apart after 1 bite in. I'd definitely have again & would recommend trying.

SO GOOD! One of the best falafel pitas i've had around Boston. The pita bread was so good and the sandwich was big & filling unlike a lot of other places i've been to! Definitely going to start coming here more frequently :)

This place has the fluffiest and most delicious pitas. We get food from here delivered to the VA. It's yummyyyyy
