The shop is small but they have a good selection of candy. 80% is gummy candy with some chocolate and licorice things here and there. $18 per pound is really not that bad as long as you fill your bag mindfully. To put it in perspective, I bought roughly 1 large handful of candy and it cost $6.81. They had about 7 kinds of real European black licorice, including 2 salted varieties. They also have some of the coveted “Bubs” gummies hidden in the corner.
Black licorice wheel: mild flavor, mild sweetness, firm chew.
Licorice lentils: medium sweetness, slight saltiness, strong herbal flavor, thick sugar shell (didn’t really like these).
Licorice logs: medium sweetness, robust licorice flavor (these were the best).
Salted licorice rolls: medium sweetness, moderate licorice flavor, and yes very salty.
Chalk licorice: moderate sweetness, thin crunchy sugar shell, moderate licorice flavor, strong mint/menthol flavor (didn’t like this one at all).
Lemon raspberry licorice rolls: sweet and sour, pleasantly fruity (obviously these are not real licorice but they were very good).
Overall it was a cool place and an interesting way to try a lot of high quality and unique candies.
