Williamsburg’s the Commodore Opens in the East Village - Eater NY

"BonBon, a store that started on the Lower East Side — and has had a hand in making Swedish candy “inescapable”, before expanding to the Upper East Side and Williamsburg — has added another location, now in Red Hook. The storefront, at 66 Degraw Street, near Van Brunt, functions as its warehouse headquarters during the week, but the team is opening its doors Friday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for shopping. On Sundays, Swedish-style hot dogs will also be offered." - Emma Orlow

Amazing that they opened a storefront in the Columbia Waterfront area in Brooklyn. It’s so fun seeing all the different candy and chocolate options + all the gift boxes and Swedish sodas. I went for their opening and they also had hotdogs and wine! Very fresh candy always.

I drove 30 minutes from East Brooklyn after calling ahead and confirmed there were bubs in stock. after arriving, I was met with so much attitude and usually the workers hide the bubs underneath the cashier counter but today I was straight up refused the candy even though this location is the warehouse. Thanks for wasting my time by lying!

After receiving a bag of BonBon for Christmas, I was stoked to learn of brick & mortar locations in NYC. The visit to the RedHook location did not disappoint! Amazing selection of bagged/packaged/scoopable candies with excellent staff vibe! Make sure to snag on e of the Swedish Hotdogs on your way in/out…they’re amazing!!

i call ahead to ask what they’re selling and I honestly just don’t get what the point of lying is lol. this has happened over 5 times, on the phone they say they have the oval bubs, skulls, etc. just for me to show up and they aren’t selling any of it. gatekeeping the candy is crazy work and if you’re not gonna sell it, do me the favor of not lying and wasting my time by making me show up to the middle of no where! i’d rather book a flight to sweden at this point, go to little sweet treat instead.

Super helpful and friendly employee. Unfortunately, most of the candy isn’t good. Some of it is rock hard and stale (sour raspberry bottles), some is overly sweet (lemon/raspberry skulls), and most of it just misses the flavor mark (sour pineapples, all types of pacifiers). There were a couple things I liked, but the rest is getting thrown out. Went out of my way to try this place, paid the premium for fancy Swedish candy, and left very disappointed.

I can't recommend BonBon Shop in Brooklyn enough! The selection of sweets and treats is absolutely fantastic — everything is made with such care and attention to detail. Whether you're looking for a unique gift or just want to indulge in something sweet, BonBon is the place to go. It's a true gem in Brooklyn, and I can’t wait to come back for more delicious creations!

customer service is awful, the workers are rude and think their candy is gold. elitist attitude, it’s just candy and if places like lil sweet treat can service their customers, how can this store dedicated to swedish candy not?

I’ve ordered from here several times and tried some new candy this last delivery. It’s so pretty in a glass jar sitting on my console table. The candy is PHENOMENAL!!! Ordering more now because it keeps disappearing, lol! Always fresh, fast delivery and fantastic!!!! It’s a little more pricey than some other Swedish candy shops but worth every penny. I’ve tried some others and paid slightly less and waited months for stale, gross candy. Trust me, BonBon is it! Spend the extra few dollars, you won’t regret it! If I could give ten stars I would :)
