Williamsburg’s the Commodore Opens in the East Village - Eater NY

"BonBon, a store that started on the Lower East Side — and has had a hand in making Swedish candy “inescapable”, before expanding to the Upper East Side and Williamsburg — has added another location, now in Red Hook. The storefront, at 66 Degraw Street, near Van Brunt, functions as its warehouse headquarters during the week, but the team is opening its doors Friday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for shopping. On Sundays, Swedish-style hot dogs will also be offered." - Emma Orlow

Live just a few blocks away and have been periodically stopping in the last two years. Candy selection varies but I’ve never had any issues. Candy is fresh, I’ve only been able to catch the bubs a few times. Last time I went in they had several skulls which was great. The only thing I would recommend is signs telling people not to eat the candy. Watched a bunch of grown adults stick their hands in and eat candy. The workers were busy at the register.

How miserable! They didn’t want to let me in because they had a delivery. They shouldn’t advertise a location if they can’t take customers. Then they let me inside, pointed and whispered. Staff ( I think) was sitting in the way to get to the few prepackaged stuff my celiac daughter could eat, wouldn’t move. I would overlook the delivery issue(which isn’t great). But to be treated so poorly.

Hubs was excited to visit since we were in the area and he was familiar with the name. This location was weird since it was a teeny tiny space like a pop-up vibe in a huge warehouse. Worst part was our 7y/o son commenting on the candy being hard to chew. Hubs confirmed after that the candy was stale. Total bummer. experience.

Love the location in Williamsburg but this one has less candy, a weird warehouse vibe in the middle of nowhere, labels that just say " Sweet" or "Sour" not what the candies are and STALE candy): the cash register boys were nice with cool outfits though

Amazing that they opened a storefront in the Columbia Waterfront area in Brooklyn. It’s so fun seeing all the different candy and chocolate options + all the gift boxes and Swedish sodas. I went for their opening and they also had hotdogs and wine! Very fresh candy always.

Sweet little spot for yummy Swedish candy and other Swedish treats. Best gummy assortment. Lovely staff.

Super helpful and friendly employee. Unfortunately, most of the candy isn’t good. Some of it is rock hard and stale (sour raspberry bottles), some is overly sweet (lemon/raspberry skulls), and most of it just misses the flavor mark (sour pineapples, all types of pacifiers). There were a couple things I liked, but the rest is getting thrown out. Went out of my way to try this place, paid the premium for fancy Swedish candy, and left very disappointed.

I can't recommend BonBon Shop in Brooklyn enough! The selection of sweets and treats is absolutely fantastic — everything is made with such care and attention to detail. Whether you're looking for a unique gift or just want to indulge in something sweet, BonBon is the place to go. It's a true gem in Brooklyn, and I can’t wait to come back for more delicious creations!
