Bonchon Doral - Review - Doral - Miami - The Infatuation

Found this place on instagram and brought the family! The fried chicken was so crispy! We loved it! The spicy sauce is no joke, but extremely flavorful. Definitely recommended!

I've been anticipating the opening to this restaurant. The food did not disappoint. Their fried drumstick and fries were fire. The cheese dog was something I did not expect. Truly the flavors were there. Personally, I just wish the customer service would have match the quality of the food. The person who took my order seemed bothered, annoyed, and uninterested when I asked a question about the menu (the restaurant just opened!). I could understand if they were busy but I showed up 75 mins before closing - barely any custumers. Aside from that, I encourage anyone to try it at least once.

Google
Great affordable option for korean casual food cravings. Tteok-bokki was a decent portion size and loved the inclusion of veggie dumplings. We came around 2pm and cashiers were helpful and friendly, it wasn’t busy so food came out quickly. Only item I didn’t love was the corn dog which could’ve used a more cheese to breading ratio.

Google
I tried three different chicken wings with my friends and we're all disappointed with chicken wings. They advertised "Crunchy" chicken but the breading was not crunchy, but too hard.

We waited over 30 minutes for our food. When we asked about the wait time, we were told it could take between 40 minutes to an hour — and they couldn’t even find our order on the main screen. Because of their response and how long we had already been waiting, we requested a refund, which they processed with a very poor attitude The food looked good, but the service and waiting time were very disappointing. Unfortunately, this experience left us with no desire to return.

Google
I would like to give this place more stars but as a first time experience it was not great. My girlfriend and I came here and had to wait over 45 mins for our food. The food itself was good but unfortunately it was cold, the wings were cold, my pop stickers were cold and the sweet corn was just barely warm. They also got my pop stickers order wrong because I wanted soy garlic and received Korean BBQ instead. None of the food was hot and ready. I would like to give this place another chance in the future because this first impression was bad, other customers were waiting just as long for their food and some others had hair in their food so it sounds like they need to invest in hair nets. I would like to come back here and give you guys another chance because again the food was good it's just the simple facts of the wait time and it was cold. Paying 50 bucks for cold food is not a good look.

Google
Had Korean BBQ Wings, very good, no frills, straight forward. Kimchi was also good, mild. Clean place, quick service.

Google
Alex was an amazing help with our huge order. It was such a seamless process the day before, we came back the next and ordered even more food. 10/10 100% recommend. Will come back next time I’m in Miami!

Yelp

Yelp
This was my first time trying this place, and I decided to order the Seoul Sampler so I could taste a few different items. The chicken was fried to perfection, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I do wish the cheese on the bulgogi fries had been a bit more melty, but the flavor was still really good. The potstickers were also tasty, while the coleslaw and corn were just okay. Ordering is done through a self-service machine, so we didn't really interact with the staff aside from the person who brought our food to the table. The restaurant itself is small with only a few tables, but it's clean and well kept. Overall, a good first experience, and I'll definitely be coming back to try more of their menu items.

Yelp
This was my second time going to Bonchon. One of my friends was talking about how the drumstick was really good so I ordered it and gave it a try. It turns out I was getting sick and I had to throw up the same day because it wasn't sitting well on my stomach. My friends were surprised that I couldn't finish eating the drumsticks. I only ordered 5 pieces and ate 2 pieces because I wasn't feeling it. The service was great and fast.

Yelp
Bon chon was the og korean fried chicken place. Nostalgia brought me back but the memories of what used to be great are gone. The chicken was subpar. It felt like it was more breading than chicken and the soy garlic was salty. The bulgogi fries looked kind of sad. Again, bon chon back then was the king when kfc was first introduced but now that theres so many other kfc places, you dont have to come here. Sometimes its good to leave the good memories in the past and move on to the better things. Skip this place and go to another korean fried chicken place

Yelp
New and finally making it to South Florida, I had to try both locations. Doral location is much smaller then the Miami Beach location but definitely a plus with free and easier parking that can be found on the open roof garage with a simple walk down a flight of stairs as you head in to experience crispy crunchy chicken full of flavor. Staff was well trained and kind while taking your order and was also very friendly while serving your food making sure alls well. While much smaller than the Miami Beach location, I found this location more cozy and relaxing and less loud. Food was amazing and great. Full of flavor in every bite and satisfied with the crisp and crunch! Beef bulgogi is very popular and this time we were able to get the opportunity to try it as it's usually sold out. Bulgogi fries are a must try as it offers a great combination of flavors as each component compliments each other with the crunchiest fries served. The Seoul sampler is a great item to order as you get to try the best of the best of the menu items. Only item I personally didn't care for was the Korean street corn. Way too much cheese in my opinion and was not a fan of the dish. Chicken was amazing and we tried almost all of the sauces they offer as it's a must. Chicken definitely did not disappoint as it's full of flavor, crispy, crunchy, juicy, and large size wings and drum sticks to satisfy your cravings! Korean donuts is a must to end your perfect savory meal with some sweets. The donut is fresh, fluffy, soft and moist. Goes great with the condense milk for dipping!

Yelp
Bonchon has come to Doral! Located in a newer plaza in Doral, you can find parking for this location on the top of the roof. It was a bit confusing at first but thankful for the previous reviews on Yelp to help steer us in the right direction. Parking was super easy once we found it and there was both a elevator and stairs to get down to the first floor. This Bonchon is new and we were excited to grab a bite to eat for dinner here. The locations I've been to previously were all more of a restaurant-style, while this one seemed to be more of a fast casual concept. The space itself is small but has a good amount of seating and is bright and clean. We ordered with a staff member who was friendly but we felt a bit rushed to order. We probably should've just grabbed a menu and took a seat to look it over or maybe even ordered at the kiosks. When we were ordering, we got a side of seasoned fries and when we were placing our order, the staff member "took the liberty" to make it a meal for us. When we questioned it, because we didn't really want a fountain drink, she said it was the same price of $4.99 to get it as a meal versus just getting the fries, so we agreed. We found out it was $1 extra for the seasoned fries, which in the grand scheme of things isn't crazy, but we also didn't want the drink so we didn't love paying the extra dollar for that. For chicken, they had options of wings, drumsticks (which cost significantly more) or mixed. My partner and I both don't love flats so we opted to get a mix. Little did we both know, the drumsticks are HUGE and the "wings" are actually just a mix of both flats and (small) drumsticks. This is something to note in case you didn't know like we didn't. We also ordered a Mopo Corn Dog and after taking a while to come out, the center of it was pretty cold. These corn dogs are known to have that cheese pull but when we attempted, we just got a chunk of cold cheese. We saw another table complain about their center being cold so we made sure to check before biting into it and it was definitely cold. After asking the staff about it, they took the corn dog back and ended up offering us complimentary donuts instead saying that their fryers were acting up so they didn't want to make a new corn dog. We're thankful for the switch but it was weird because, although they told us they didn't want to make new corn dogs, everyone around us was still getting new corn dogs throughout the time we dined there. For the fries we ordered, it was actually a pretty small portion for what we paid $4.99 for and it wasn't our favorite, taste-wise. Overall, the food was just okay. We got the classic soy garlic for the wings and it was pretty heavy on the soy making it too salty. This paired with the interesting interactions with staff made for an okay experience.

Yelp
Sooooooo good! They hadn't even officially opened and were already packed- rightfully so. I tried a bunch of things from the menu. The service was very attentive and kind despite being slammed. There is free parking in the garage. Now to the food: - Bulgogi Fries - so yum, beef was perfectly seasoned and spicy mayo makes everything better - Potstickers with soy garlic - Bao Buns - get the pork belly, soo good - Korean Tacos bulgogi meat - delicious! - fried chicken with soy garlic - my highlight: the corn dog with the cheese pull Also had corn with cheese and spicy mayo and finished the meal with Korean Donuts drizzled condensed milk

Yelp
The korean bbq chicken is sooo good, we really enjoyed it. We also loved the korean street corn and chicken katsu. This place gives good portions and i like that you can order on the tablet. We got the korean corn dog and unfortunately it was frozen in the middle. We let them know and they had run out of more, so they gave us a refund. My only complaint is that they dont bring the food out all at once. Other than that and the frozen corn dog, i really enjoyed everything else and Ill definitely come back for the chicken and to try the other menu items!

Yelp
Recently opened in a brand new shopping center. Very clean, nice staff, and the food was delicious! Something about that tang to the soy flava!! Also, typically my eyes are bigger than my stomach but that's something I definitely need to check myself about here. The food is pretty filling. You can definitely share combo meal with someone and feel satisfied.

Yelp
Heard about this place through social media and decided to check it out. The place was a bit small and since we came around lunch the place was packed. There was a lot to choose from but we decided to go with the Seoul Sampler Platter with Soy Garlic sauce and the classic Tteokbokki. The food took about 20 minutes to arrive, but when it arrived it was piping hot. The Seoul Sampler came with chicken, street corn, bulgogi fries, and dumplings. The chicken was very crispy and juicy and had the perfect amount of sauce for every bite. The bulgogi fries were crispy and had the perfect amount of seasoning. The street corn was buttery and cheesy, however I felt like there should've been more cheese towards the middle and bottom of the cup that way you could get some with every bite. The dumplings were crispy and had the same sauce at the chicken. The Tteokbokki came with rice cakes, fish cakes, and two dumplings. I'm not sure what was in the dumplings but they were perfectly crispy and seasoned well. The rice cakes weren't overcooked and had the perfect amount of chewiness. The fish cakes were also cooked perfectly. Personally, the fish cakes were way spicier than the rice cakes but my partner said the opposite. If you're someone that can't handle spiciness, then this dish is not for you. This dish packed a punch on the first bite and it kept getting hotter the more I ate. There was cheese on top that helped calm the spice in the beginning, but after a certain point it didn't help anymore. Overall, the place had very delicious food that came out hot and fresh. Since the place is still newly opened, the wait time is a bit long but it's worth the wait for how tasty the food was.

Yelp
We've gone here twice in the last week since learning it has finally opened! Fast casual set up where you order at the counter and the food is brought o the table a no servers or table side - drinks, napkins and utensils are self service and cleanly organized. Food was great, the chicken is crispy and delicious. We had the bulgogi taco, fries, japchae and multiple sides. Everything was fresh and presented well. The menu is pretty big and the options beyond wings were impressive. The staff was helpful and the seating was fairly accessible though it does pile up so not great for large parties. Overall great and excited to have this location finally open!

Yelp
Went by today to see if they were open and lo and behold they are. This fried chicken has been living rent free in my mind since I first had it from their SoBe location. This one is a lot closer to the crib and parking is easier(it's on the roof) Was greeted warmly by the staff and even ran into a T-bred so you know I was going to be treated well The chicken is out of control. Got a 50/50 Korean bbq/ Soy Garlic and I for sure like the soy garlic more but the bbq is still delicious Seasoned fried were crunchy and almost over seasoned but that's just me. I don't know where these guys get their drums from but they are incredibly juicy and huge (pause) I got the feeling this place is going to see a lot of me

Yelp
Food was subpar, chicken was not flavorful and wasn't crunchy enough. We had the street corn it wasn't good had no flavor and it was watery. When I got there we had questions, I stood there as they looked at me from the back until finally someone acknowledged me and put up their fingers pinched them together to say give me a minute while they sipped their soda. Finally a manager came out and helped us. I had to clean the table and all the tables except 2 were dirty, floor needed to be swept, garbage needed to be emptied, random surfaces were greasy. We shared food I had to ask for plates.

Yelp
It's finally open and the venue looks great! I got the sampler for takeout and the food was amazing, especially the delicious and crunchy chicken and the spectacular sauces. The potstickers were very tasty and the bulgogi fries were good, even for takeout. Unfortunately, the staff seemed inexperienced and lacked customer service. When I tried to order the sampler, I was told they were out of corn and couldn't substitute, but the price remained the same. The manager, Tabitha, was helpful and added more chicken for me. However, the staff continued to give other customers the same incorrect information. I also observed one staff member, Mariana, vaping at the register, and she was not helpful to her coworkers. I also overheard complaints from other guests that the corn dogs were cold and undercooked, and one guest received the wrong order. Overall, the food and the manager, Tabitha, were great, but the staff needs more training.

Yelp
Good food, would come back again once the elevators are fixed. It's a shame that the whole parking situation is not convenient for anyone who is disabled as all the elevators to get to the first floor where the restaurant is located were either not working.

Christopher M.

Yelp
The food is good. The ambiance is ok kinda of small. The only complain is the service. The workers are in the back laughing seeing clients walk in and the clients just waiting there. No one in the front...

Yelp
Bonchon, where have you been all my life?! Chicken drumsticks the size of my fist with sweet and sour crispy skin that you can audibly hear when you bite into it... delicious. We tried the soy garlic, Korean BBQ and Yangnyeom sauces. They were all really tasty but my favorite was the soy garlic. We will definitely be back.

Joanel

Yelp
Very dissapointed. I ordered the 20 pieces chicken tenders, they were ok the first day but next day they were hard like a rock. Were cooked too long. Also I ordered the fried rice garlic sauce and they gave me the most spicy thing ever. I had to throw it away, impossible to eat. Not sure if it was the cashier's mistake or the kitchen. Bad experience for my first time. No comparison with the Bon Chon chicken in VA or MD. I will never go to this place in Doral again.
