I’ve been to multiple Bonchon locations around Chicagoland and this was easily my worst experience. We did a pickup from the Glenview location and once we got home, the order was short/mispacked (items/quantity didn’t match what we paid for). I called the store within about 10 minutes of getting home, expecting a quick fix. Instead, the person who answered basically said “the kitchen told me it’s correct,” without really trying to verify anything. I had to insist I wasn’t making it up and that I double-checked the receipt. I even sent a photo to show the issue. The manager who got involved was also surprisingly unfriendly and dismissive, which made the whole thing more frustrating than it needed to be. Eventually they offered a partial credit ($17) and told me they’d send confirmation once it processed. It’s now been two weeks exactly and I still haven’t received the credit or any confirmation. If you’re going to offer a credit to resolve a mistake, it needs to actually happen. Disappointing experience overall.

Love this place! The chicken is that perfect blend of crunchy and saucy, plus they are huge and meaty for chicken wings. Both sauces are amazing spicy is my favorite but the bacon kimchi fried rice is life changing it's a must! service was on point asian gentleman that was super patient and awesome! 100% recommend!

Google
Ordered delivery recently and it was insanely good so we decided to go in person. Went for dinner on a Sunday night and it was quiet but the food was just as delicious. The crispiness of the chicken is amazing! I recommend the classic but I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. They have increased the size of the menu so there is always something new to try. Highly recommend 👌

I bought a chicken set for our guests who came for my daughter’s birthday. Oh my god, the chicken was so hard and tasted so bad. I think they sold me chicken that had been sitting for many hours and just reheated before giving it to us. And it wasn’t even cheap. We throw away them. We hadn’t time to come back because all of guest already come. Some of our kid throwing up after eating it. I bought on December 2nd. I will never buy it again. I rarely complain about anything, but this was so bad and disgusting. How could you sell something like that for money

I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich and their fries through doordash, and was given an estimated arrival in 30-45min. The driver was at their location for about an hour waiting for the order. When my dasher arrived, she realized it was the wrong order and took it back. I immediately called BonChon myself to verify that my order was there & the person on the phone told me they were making me a fresh one and it would be ready when she’s back, When she got back to BonChon they claimed I did not have an order placed and could not find me in the system. The doordasher called me back to let me know, and I called them back immediately expressing my frustrations. The person on the phone said she was mistaken and her manager checked the system and said they had no record of my order and I might have placed it at the wrong location. I told them I could send them a receipt of the purchase to prove that I did purchase at their location and I wanted to speak to the manager. The person on the phone told me they can give me the managers number to contact directly or I can leave my number for the manager to contact me. I asked for the number and then the person said “I can’t give you their number but I can take yours down and have them call you”. I was so frustrated at this point because of all the miscommunication, lied and terrible customer service that I left my number for a call back. I hung up the phone and 5 minutes later I receive a message from door dash saying the restaurant cancelled my order. I then ordered it AGAIN & it came within 30 minutes. My sandwich was burnt, dry, and not cooked properly. After eating I immediately felt nauseous and not well. I highly do not recommend going here. I also never received a call back.

Google
The presentation of the dishes was good. Started with the bulgogi fries and and Boneless wings, half hot half soy garlic. The portion of fries seemed a little on the small side for the price the. The fries themselves are advertised as seasoned but somebody forgot to season them I guess. (They were rather under seasoned). The dishes were not properly timed to come out at the same time so there was a 10 minute wait between the bulgogi and the chicken. The bulgogi flaver was not what it should have been, it just wasnt quite there. The wings were nice and crispy and the hot had a good heat to it, the soy garlic flavor was nonexistent and under sauced. The chicken katsu. Oh boy the chicken katsu. Over cooked and the flavor was completely sucked out. My partner ordered tteokbokki and was later told that they didnt have the ingredients to make it so she ordered something else. The rice had more flavor than the chicken. The bulgogi was equally overcooked and under flavored. The staff seemed rather disinterested. When I spoke to the manager (it had to be over the phone there was no real manager on site) after much back and forth the best he offered was 30% comp. I recommend this location be closed for 2 week for retraining and new hiring. Highly disappointed. Went to panda express instead.

Google
I frequently visit Bonchon in different locations. Loved their food as usual❤️ Had Korean Chicken wings, Takoyaki and they are Yummm! Place looked really old. I didn’t like the ambiance much but loved the staff, they were amazing and helpful.

Google
The girl serving us had an indifferent attitude. She barely tended to us and I had to wave her down several times. Food was good but was light on the sauce. Service was terrible. I need to clarify that.

Vikki L.

Yelp
The chicken was ok. The sauces were ok. Everything was made fresh. The waiter very enthusiastic. He knew the menu very well. Explained everything even thou we did not want him to. Try it dies not disappoint.

Yelp
Very overpriced, about 50% more than what I think a good value would be. I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with Bonchon bc when I'm craving it and consuming it, it's SO good and tasty, to the point where I keep eating long beyond when I should stop... but then end up feeling extremely bloated the rest of the evening and into the next morning from all the salt. We dined in here a month or so ago and were the only customers at what you would think is peak dinnertime, 6pm or so. It was a ghost town. And not only that, but the restaurant was ghostly chilly too. Very cold inside, to the point that we switched tables to get to avoid the draft from the vent and commented to the employee about it. The tonkatsu entree is mediocre. The batter on the pork was crispy, but bland. It was $16.99, as was the small order of boneless wings, which come with a tiny side of coleslaw or pickled radish. A side of plain fries is $5.99. On our last pick up order from here too, the chicken strips were soggy and barely had any crunch to it. My husband usually doesn't complain or call back about it, let alone return to the restaurant for a redo of the order, but that evening warranted it.

Yelp
I love the Chinatown location, but this one leaves much to be desired. A friend and I came here on a Thursday night at around 6pm and there was only one customer in the store. It was cold, dark and unwelcoming. Red flag because the Chinatown location, which I frequent often. Is ALWAYS busy, with bright lighting and comfortable temperature, no matter what time of day. The cashier/hostess was rather dry and minimally friendly as she told us we could sit anywhere when we told her we were dine-in. I'm immediately turned off by staff who act as if they would rather be anywhere else than their place of employment. But the good thing about most chains is that they have to follow recipes. I fell in love with Bonchon wings (Chinatown location ) a couple of years ago when my daughter introduced me to them. Whether dine-in or take-out, I always had a great experience and was treated well by staff. While the food here was great---soy garlic wings, udon noodle soup, buns and the japchae noodles were just as delicious as Chinatown, the customer service left much to be desired. I'm thinking it could be busier if it were more welcoming. Meh.

Yelp
Wow, when I first tried this and reviewed, Bonchon was such a smack in the face good. The introduction to Korean fried chicken blew me away. If you're not familiar with Korean fried chicken, what sets it apart from your traditional American southern fried chicken is the breading. Unfortunately, since then, I've been to several different Korean fried chicken places and Bonchon has gone down. And compared to even itself, this place wasn't like it use to be. The breading on my tendies was virtually non-existent. I was pretty much eating cooked chicken pieces with sauce lightly spread on them. The spicy was not spicy and the Korean bbq flavor was nothing special. The only saving grace from this dining experience was the pork belly buns and the service. Service was on point, but sadly it was not enough to make up for the food. BATHROOM REVIEW: located past the front kiosk, the men's bathroom is at the very corner of the hallway. Your hand was greeted to a sticky mess on the door. Inside, there's your urinal and toilet. Toilet was non operational. Good thing I only needed to do a number 1, or else it'll be hard to balance and do a number 2 on a urinal. Maybe the sink? Either way, bathroom reminded me of Chinatown bathrooms. No thank you. Sit or squat? Neither this time!

Yelp
I've been to a lot of Korean chicken places and this one is by far the worst. I placed an order through the phone and they told me they were out of chicken drumsticks so I ordered the wings only to get just drumsticks. I ordered a bibimbap and they forgot all the sides including the sauce. They forgot utensils and sides for the chicken. Not to mention they also lacked the bibimbap ingredients -- the portions were terrible. The chicken barely had any sauce on them and I found a red BUG while eating the chicken. I'm truly disappointed and disturbed.

Yelp
This restaurant is nice, I've been to a different location before but it didn't have a high ceiling. We were greeted at the door and ordered right away. The spicy sauce was delicious on the chicken wings. My friend is lactose so she couldn't get the full experience from the famous French fries. Huge parking lot in the front with free parking.

Yelp
B-B-B-B-Bonchon you are the best! Bonchon was one of my first introductions to Korean fried chicken and I still consider it the OG. I love the soy and garlic glaze on the wings and drums and it is crackly and crunchy too! We also tried zucchini fries (get your veggies in!) they were piping hot (so hot, took forever to cool down but nearly impossible to wait for them to cool) and amazingly crisp and lightly fried. The zucchini have a nice tender and melty texture. The pickled radish are sweetly sour and nicely crunchy. The setting is modern and spare. Usually pretty empty and even tonight, Friday evening, it was not crowded in the restaurant ( maybe pickups and deliveries instead). It's about 8 tables. Service was pleasant and helpful. This OG chicken spot is OMG!

Yelp
We ordered plain fried rice $9.99 thats not even good for 2 people. But ok. Then the soy garlic is too salty and hard to bite.

Yelp
Caveat Emptor Don't go here unless you enjoy being taken advantage of... They will charge a 22% Gratuity (based on their own receipt calculation). A Gratuity for what I can receive the same or better sevice at McDonald's for nothing. * No 'Waiter'; So what am I paying a gratuity for? The most they did was take our order at the table and dropped off the food. -- No Bulgogi. This took off a good part of the menu for choices. -- No Shrimp. ... At least they had chicken wings... Items that you pay gratuity for ... Services - NOT PROVIDED * We were brought a carafe of water which the 'waiter' never even bothered to pour for us. No ice as well. * Sodas come in cans. No refills. Another service that is provided at a 'restaurant' and can even be obtained at any Fast Food Chain for NO GRATUITY. * Not offered Utensils. Another item we had to get up and obtain... Ourselves. * Everyone received 1 paper towel. Sticky finger food (wings) and no additional towels, toilets, etc. brought or offered. Another service failure. A restaurant typically has linen napkins... at least * A waiter is one that BRINGS you your bill and handles the payment. Nope. We had to get up and pay AT THE REGISTER. Again, What SERVICE did you provide for a 22% gratuity? * Waiters also come by to check in on their customers and take away/clear plates. Yet another service NOT provided by this 'Restaurant. Yes, buyer beware. I would sooner find another wing/chicken place before ever returning here. $35 for 10 wings, basket of fries, and a can of Pepsi.

Yelp
I ordered take out and I was surprised at how it all still tasted just as good as it is when you eat in store. The bulgogi fries are delicious! Definitely worth trying.

Yelp
A few things about Bonchon, there was a HUGE hype for this spot at one point and possibly in some locations, there still might be. This time was a bit lackluster. We walked and got seated, we had to ask if we ordered up front or they would send a waiter. They do send a waiter. The waiter and host were really nice, I could see they might've been busy or shorthanded possibly? I could tell they were doing their best to serve people and keep up. This restaurant just looked like it isn't being taken care of. It felt a bit dingy and sticky, like a bar after a long night. It seemed like it needed a pro-clean. Food was ok, the quality doesn't seem the same as it was a few years ago. Had zucchini fries, chicken - which they couldn't put sauce on the side which was odd since they used to. Also had a bimbimbap bowl --- I think this one probably turned me off, I should've read the menu better, but it was not what one would expect of a Korean bowl with all the colorful veggies, and there was quinoa in it,...def not a thing for this. All in all, nice attentive staff - but the cleanliness and food quality was really disappointing.

Yelp
This place has so much promise! The food that was available was pretty tasty including the potstickers and fries. However, several items were not available from the menu. The poor service took away from the experience.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident and we are so glad we did. After eating here, my husband mentioned to me that he has a new favorite restaurant. There was a promotion to celebrate their 20th year anniversary 20 wings for $22 that we bought half spicy / half soy garlic that my husband and son loved. They loved it so much that we ordered another 20 wings to go. Wings - garlic soy is amazing Wings - spicy was spicy & amazing Plain Udon - good Korean tacos with spicy chicken - really spicy and good Chicken wrap - just ok (one suggestion would to have some sauce in it as it was a bit dry) Overall, food was really good. The wings were our favorite! Service was great, too - shout out to Sebastian - he's awesome! He gave us great recommendations as this was our first time here. All in all - great dinner here this evening!

Yelp
To be fair I didn't get chicken so ill have to come back and try that to give them a comprehensive review. I ordered the bulgogi udon and it was disappointing. Mushy and gloopy are probably the best ways to describe it. The noodles were incredibly overcooked and fell apart on contact. This gave the whole dish a watery, oily, mushy texture that was pretty unpleasant. I hope that it was just my dish that happened to be overcooked and that's not how they typically prepare the dish.

Yelp
Fast-casual Korean fried chicken chains are competing vigorously with traditional fried chicken joints. The Missus and I were eager to try this hugely successful chain which has expanded globally. Sadly, our experience at the Glenview location was both disappointing and maddening. I attempted to order carryout online but their web page wouldn't load, so I ended up ordering in person at the restaurant, which was not busy at the time of my visit. My Missus wanted soy-garlic wings but requested the sauce on the side. The server who took my order insisted the sauce could not be served on the side; it HAD to be baked on. Other Korean chicken restaurants we've visited have been more accommodating. I prevailed and he responded in a condescending tone of voice, "We will make an exception, but just this one time." While waiting for the order, I observed that the floor alongside the counter and in the corners was encrusted with grime. Then, I noticed that a salad I had ordered was missing from the check. This needed to be added to my order and paid for on a separate ticket. Although my entrée, a wing-drum combo (with soy-garlic sauce baked on) was fairly good, it was a tad dry and could have used more sauce. Unfortunately the sesame ginger salad (plain version) was neither cool nor crisp (most likely because it was nestled amid containers of hot food in the carryout bag). And, the dressing (likewise not offered 'on the side') was too acerbic for my taste. At $9.55 for a portion not big enough to be an entrée salad, it was overpriced. My Missus unboxed her entrée (and btw their carryout cartons are flimsy and leaky) to find a drum-wing combo with NO sauce on the chicken OR on the side. She dislikes dark meat chicken and was really disappointed. The chicken fried rice was okay but on the bland side; it needed to be goosed up with a few dashes of soy or hot sauce. But condiments were neither included nor offered with our carryout. Most places cheerfully accommodate requests to provide sauces or salad dressing on the side. In the post-pandemic hospitality industry, there is simply no room for inflexibility or stinginess, much less the indifference I encountered. I promptly reached out to Bonchon at bonchon.com/contact-us. That was ten days ago and their failure to respond is inexcusable. I will update this review if and when I do receive a reply. UPDATE: Scroll down to view Bonchon's reply. In these situations, a savvy restaurateur would typically apologize to the customer and offer a gift card or a refund. Given that I had already made the effort to "reach out" and share details, Bonchon's unapologetic "We'll pass your message along ..." response is total bullshit. I will not return to this restaurant, nor will I recommend it to anyone.

Kate M.

Yelp
I ordered 10 wings but they gave me drumsticks instead. I called to see what could be done and no one answered (even though they should still be open!) The Parmesan fries were not seasoned at all. Very disappointed. Would like a refund however the drive is far.

Yelp
Have not even had the food yet. Ordered at 4:48 in store for takeout with no one in store and was told 15 minutes. It is now 5:27 and still waiting. Best part is that someone came in and sat down to order and they have already been served. Only one person in kitchen and one person upfront taking orders and serving. Maybe no one told them it was Saturday night

Yelp
Korean food is probs one of my top favorite asian food group. This place wasn't the best I ever had but it was pretty good! They have multiple locations throughout the Chicagoland area. Bulgogi korean street tacos: This menu item is listed as "must try" - so thats exactly what I did. You can choose to add a meat for an additional cost of course so I went for the bulgogi. This was nothing amazing. Not bad but just lacking flavor I guess. The tortilla was also kind of stale, like it was stiff and didn't taste fresh. Japchae: This was yummy! Kind of greasy but I didn't mind. I love glass noodles in general and I know it gives off a more slimy texture. Had a good amount of sautéed veggies mixed in. Wings: If I were to come back, I want to return solely to give the wings another shot. I ordered a combo to take home with me which consists of a mix of wings and drumsticks and I chose to do half and half in terms of flavors. The spicy flavor has a nice kick to it! Wings are kind of skimpy and lacking meat.

Yelp
I must be missing something here, or they were hopefully having an off day because that was not Korean fried chicken. My chicken strips tasted that same as if I got them from Buffalo Wild Wings. They were not crispy, they were not crunchy. Is it because I ordered a lunch special? Is it because I got chicken strips instead of wings? I have no idea as this place comes very highly rated. It's very cute inside, and I wouldn't mind giving them another shot. I'm just overall confused with the quality of it being nothing like other Korean fried chicken that I've had. The lunch special was decently priced it was around $11 for 8 chicken strips and coleslaw. The sauces were ok. The garlic soy didn't have much garlic flavor, and the spicy has decent flavor though not very spicy. I could've definitely done with more sauce on my chicken as well. My food came out very fast, which may be the reason why the chicken wasn't very crispy as it's obviously cooked in bulk, and then reheated for to go patrons. I feel like there's some corners definitely being cut. There are better shops to get a Korean fried chicken fix at in the Chicago area though not sure if there are others in Glenview.

Samantha M.

Yelp
Today I did an online order and when my husband picked up the food and arrived home, I noticed the food doesn't even look close to what I usually order. My wings/drums weren't even double fried and it was bland. When I opened the drum, you can still some of the batter on my chicken.
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
I was kind of excited to try this place since I've heard from many about how great it is. I did carry-out, so I can't really speak to service other than I got my food in a reasonable amount of time from a cashier who was pleasant. The atmosphere in the restaurant was fine. I ordered just chicken and fries and I have to say I was a little underwhelmed. The chicken seemed like it was overcooked? Kind of tough and chewy. The fries in the other hand were great. I may give Bonchon another chance at a different location in the future, but doubt I'll be returning to this one if I'm ever back in the area.

Maddox W.

Yelp
Huge, delicious chicken drumsticks with crispy skin. We got two sauces and both were great. I've never had anything like this. The kids loved it and the fries/nachos were sooooo good. The donuts were also awesome. Everything was great, very fresh and quick service.
google avatar

Mon Adrian D.

Yelp
The food I had was so good! I had 5 pcs. of chicken drumsticks sauced with their new flavor (Yangneom). The chicken itself were satisfyingly crispy and the sauce was very flavorful and not too spicy. And I also had Bulgogi Fries which the very kind young server recommended me to consume and he didn't disappoint me. It was bomb!!! . I quite was not able to finish the food because I became full bc the serving size of both dish was enormous! The service is top 1 as well. The young man named, Tim is such hospitable server! Really recommend this place for anyone to visit.

Yelp
This is me and my boyfriend's favorite place. The wings are always perfect, the tteokbokki is alway chewy and spicy. I love it so so much and can't recommend it enough. Super close to boba for a little pick me up afterwards

Yelp
Hubby and I were craving some Bonchon and stopped by for early dinner. The location was understaffed with only two people taking care of seated customers, angry looking take-out customers and phone calls. We sat down and in 15 minutes asked for someone to take our order. Edwin came over immediately, apologized for the wait and took our order. Food was out quickly and was delicious. Edwin was attentive, friendly and took care of other tables and seems most to go orders. He deserves the 5 stars from this review. The taller gentleman with glasses seemed to have a really bad day and seemed in a bad mood. When we asked for ketchup and a to go box, he seemed really upset that we needed anything. Edwin however helped us right away. It sucks when a place is understaffed and I just wanted to acknowledge Edwin doing an awesome job doing a stressful time.
google avatar

Matthew S.

Yelp
It's perfectly fine. They're honestly isn't much to say about the place The food was Good The staff was friendly it was clean. Between the price and the quantity of food It's just not a place that I'm going to go out of my way for. The lunch special is drastically better so if you're in the area it's absolutely worth grabbing.

Andrew M.

Yelp
Expensive for the amount of food received. The pork buns had a tiny piece of meat on them, would definitely not order again. Fried rice was just ok. Would come back to try other things but I was underwhelmed.
google avatar

Timothy N.

Yelp
Chicken here is good of course. The wait can be long especially for lunch hour due to their lunch special. But overall, the quality of the chicken is lean, juicy, and sauced well. I would say there were a couple of takeout orders head of you if you plan to come in person so call in or order online ahead of time. Parking is easy just plan your meal ahead or you'll be stuck waiting too long.
google avatar

Rick R.

Yelp
I don't really know the hype here. Wings were NOT good. They tasted Off and chicken did not seem fresh even with the abundance of spices thrown on them. The service person appeared to be in the weeds and was the only person there other than the cook doing the frying. The dining area was filthy and the tables all needed busing and cleaning. I don't know this whole strip is kinda nasty. Um DNR for sure
google avatar

Kelsey G.

Yelp
0 stars. Absolutely incompetent staff without a shred of customer service. The restaurant was literally empty when we arrived and we were the only people sitting at a table. It took a ridiculous 45+ minutes for us to get our order of wings while we watched 5 people place takeout orders and get their food before us. When our food finally arrived, half the wings didn't even have sauce on them. Don't waste your time or money on this awful establishment.

Yelp
Late night carry out and needed something quick and convenient and Bonchon was on the corner. Decided to try Korean fried chicken that's all the rage with the kids these days. Had the spicy chicken strips, fries, and fried rice. Food prepped quick and good, friendly service. Big portions and a good value. Fried rice was decent, but really greasy. The same could be said for the fries. Decent, but not that crispy, and quite greasy. The strips were quite large. Halfway through the first one, I began to realize spicy was an understatement. I'm fine with spicy food. I don't mind a little heat, but this was stupid hot. My definition of stupid hot is when there's spit-in-the-sink heat, but no delicate flavors underneath enhanced by the heat to justify the pain endured. There's just heat and nothing else there. Mouth on fire after eating the first one the question to myself, "is this worth it?" And it was an easy answer. "No." If the chicken hadn't been so inedibly hot, would I have enjoyed them? No, I don't think I would have. It's been a long time since I've not really liked a meal I've ordered, but the spicy strips at Bonchon are such a case.

Yelp
Had a great meal at Bonchon! Delicious Korean tacos. Tried fried octopus for the first time and it was a pleasant surprise. Umer was friendly and helpful and served our food quickly. Great place and reasonable prices. Next time I'll try the fried chicken that they're famous for. Tonight I just got too full to order more. I'll also try the little donut that I heard was amazing! Thanks Umer! We're in town for the weekend, I'm sure we'll be back before heading home to Cleveland.

Yelp
Ordered a fried rice with bulgoli and oh my goodness it was prefect! Super fresh. A great amount of meat, and fresh sautéed veggies, egg and lots of green onion on top. Definitely one of the best fried rices I've had in a while. Next time I'm going to try the wings. I can't wait. The customer service was also amazing. The girl and guy working were so welcoming and just on point. They were super nice and their customer service was above and beyond. I used the bathrooms and they were incredibly clean and smelled amazing. I know it has nothing to do with the food but definitely worth mentioning. Overall it was a prefect experience and I'd recommend and come again.

Yelp
I like this place. I really do. I've been to this location easily 15 different times. Food is always in point. Service has been hit or miss but this time around it was good. Looks like they have new front of house or at least new people working today. Food as mentioned above is always cooked well and has great flavor with one exception. The white rice (plain old regular nothing fancy) is always old. It's stale and crunchy and when you mention it to the staff they say it's fresh don't do anything about it.

Yelp
We had driven past Bonchon a few times and needed a Plan B dinner. They have a great menu of fusion and traditional items and feature their Korean Wings. We ordered the spicy and sweet crunch double fried wings, kim chi slaw, chap chae noodles, and pork buns to go and enjoyed them all. The food was ready at the promised time and they were set up to be safe. The wings were excellent-- all the flavor is in the batter and the double frying helps with both the crunch and in keeping the batter from falling off. So there's no sauce. At all. The spicy definitely has a kick and the sweet crunch is a nice offset with a honey-sweet flavor. The pork buns' Bao-like buns were soft and made it easy to enjoy the savory pork, crunchy veggies, and tangy sauce. The chap chae was solid--the noodles, veggies, beef, and sauce were right on traditional. Does the kimchi/cole slaw mashup work? We thought so and somehow the creaminess and sweet notes work with the heat. The one star ding is for prices that are pushing the high end vs. competitors. There's more stuff to check out on the menu and we'll be back!

Yelp
I want to start off by saying that the food was VERY TASTY! The reason I gave 3 stars was for the lackluster table service and the value or lack thereof. We came after the lunch rush on Saturday, and either the team was tired or what, but the service was inattentive and very laid back. The prices are very high for what you actually get on the plate, so for us, I did not seem to be a good value. $60 for a casual lunch with a couple of appetizers and one entree and no drinks, is a bit high. The food tasted delicious, but it was not enough to temper the sting of the price. If you are in the area, and are ready to spend a premium amount on a casual Korean food meal, try this place. Otherwise, I would not rush over.

Yelp
Cons: several of the items we wanted to order were no longer available. Use the online menu, not the one in the restaurant for accurate availability. Mens room out of order Ice machine out of order They give you one very thin napkin for very sticky chicken Pros: chicken, potstickers, pickled radish were all very good

Yelp
I love bonchon but this location is not like the others. I should have turned around as soon as i walked in. There is no one ever at this location I now understand why. The place is sooooo dirty it looks like it's never been cleaned the windows are dirty the floor is sticky, the tables, the booths . The bathrooms have NO SOAP so these workers are going to use the bathroom not washing their hands then they go to cook your food !! the server was a guy with airpods in on a call while taking our our order the second he walked away he kept talking on his phone call into his air pods.. next the food comes out the order is wrong we tell the server and he's mad saying no you're wrong you said this . . maybe be would have heard us if he didn't have his airpods in ? so the food it looks nothing like the other locations it's not actually Korean double fried the dough looks raw and my boyfriend found something that looks like a flattened bug or beetle in the rice.. we're traumatized please stay away. maybe they have a new owner within the past few years cause only recently they have been getting terrible reviews.

Yelp
09/25/19 - Holy cow Batman I had a near orgasmic experience. Do you like fried chicken? Then you have to try Bonchon's Korean Fried Chicken. I first experienced Bonchon 6 years ago at the mall of Asia in The Philippines. I was blown away by their chicken. It was super crispy, super hot and absolutely effinn delicious. When I came back I looked on Yelp for Bonchon in Chicago. At the time there wasn't one in here, now there are at least 4 that I'm aware of in the Chicagoland area. 2 in Chicago, 1 in Schaumburg & this one in Glenview. 2 years ago I was back in the Philippines where I got a chance to try Bonchon again at a different location in Manila. This time the chicken wasn't so good? This Bonchon i went to is in the strip mall on the southeast corner of Milwaukee & Lake Street in Glenview. I ordered the 10 piece wings and went 1/2 & 1/2. I got the honey crisp & the spicy chicken wings & they are super spicy. I ordered the wings & grabbed a seat. OMG the wings were so dam good. They came out super hot, super crispy and so dam hot fresh out of The fryer. The spicy wings were very spicy , but dam they were sooooo goooood. These are the same wings I ordered in the Philippines that made me crave more. The service was very good Buyer beware. I almost went to Buncha Authentic Vietnamese Street Food VS Bonchon Korean Fried Chicken by mistake as they are in the same mall.

Yelp
I like this location over the Chinatown location the best. It's more spacious and service is a little more attentive, although both can be spotty when too busy. I've only been a hand full of times but each time the bill is near 50.00 with tip. It's pretty pricey but it's pretty good food. I always stick with: order of white rice, an order of kimchi, potstickers, and usually either a 5 or 10 piece chicken drumstick plate. 5 pieces doesn't sound like a lot but they are huge portions and can get full very easily. You have a choice of flavors for both the chicken and the potstickers from soy garlic to spicy. I usually have both, half and half. The chicken is super crunchy, juicy and flavorful. You also have boneless and wing options. I've also tried their Tteokbokki(rice cake noodle dish with seaweed rolls and fish cakes)and it's absolutely delicious. Because it's so expensive and the bill adds up, I've only had it once or twice and you really have to be in the mood for it. Super chewy rice cakes and crunchy seaweed rolls are great. The flavor of the sauce isn't too sweet or spicy either, has a nice kick. Super cheesy too! Yum! A hard pass on the Takoyaki(fried octopus balls)too chewy and fishy on the inside, only tried once. Overall, great Korean style food. Only complaints are service and pricing but they seem to be more helpful and friendly at this location.

Yelp
The food isn't anything to brag about, it's too Americanized and fast food style so it's very salty. I felt very bad for the one girl who was working because she was the hostess, cashier, busser and server. All tables were pretty full but the wait was long since she was the only one. The bathroom was VERY dirty! We won't be coming back here again.

Yelp
Fried chicken is good. I am rating it 3 stars based on so-so service and their policy of giving themselves a 20% tip for parties of 5 or more. C'mn. At most places it is 18% for parties of 8 or more.

Yelp
I love love love this place. SOY GARLIC CHICKEN AND JAPCHAE are my favorite. I have always loved BONCHON ever since i was in the Philippines. The difference between bonchon here and the ph. We have more items in the menu. The chicken is super tasty. I need to go back and try some of the other stuff in the menu. This is one of my go to place for comfort food.

Yelp
Bonchon is in a competitive strip mall with several other restaurants (including other Asian restaurants) to compete with. But they can compete and thrive at this location. The specialty at this restaurant is their Korean Fried Chicken. We've been here before where there have been long lines waiting to get in. We went on a Saturday afternoon to treat a friend who hadn't been here before. We got the boneless wings with the soy ginger sauce, bulgogi Korean tacos, and pork buns. The boneless wings were overcooked and tough. It may have been better if we got the wings with bones. The bones often help guard against overcooking. The soy ginger sauce was salty instead of the sweet flavor that you would expect. the bulgogi tacos were a pleasant surprise. The thinly sliced meat was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The addition of the coleslaw added another flavor. The pork buns was another excellent choice. The buns were reminiscent of the bao but with much less breading and more fillings. The pork belly was crispy and the coleslaw help to cut through the fat in the pork. If the other menu items are this good, I can't wait to go back and try the others.

Yelp
I'm addicted. Straight addicted. I've been in twice in a week. The wings are THE BEST wings. The sweet is too sweet for me. I love the spicy. Some of the other stuff I've had: the fried pickles, udon, fried rice, fries, etc are just ok. Here's the biggest issue with this location: the service sucks. Super bad. Last week, the guy gave us a cracked water glass that was gushing before we even got to the table. It just poured everywhere and we had to flail to get attention. We had to ask for more water. We had to ask for more napkins (because we used ours to mop up the water). He forgot our kimchee totally. This week when we were in, they forgot our fried rice until we finally reminded him. Consistently bad service that keeps them from getting 5 stars IMO.
