As a fried chicken enthusiast, I must say Bonchon has some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. I’ve been back multiple times, and the consistency is definitely there every single visit. While it’s not the best location—tucked away in a strip mall—and not the fanciest place to dine, the customer service and food are absolutely on point. Make it your duty to try this chicken and let me know what you think. Happy feasting! 🍗

Google
First time here and I’m obsessed already. The food came out fast, the staff was super nice, and everything we tried was SO good. The bulgogi fries didn’t stand a chance (my boyfriend literally licked the plate clean 🤣). And that new kimchi bacon udon? Unreal. 100% coming back.

Google
Food was AMAZING! I went with several friends, and we had nothing but rave reviews, especially the FRIED RICE! We had the Fried Chicken and Wings, Bulgogi Udon soup, Stir-fry Udon, Bulgogi Fries, Pot-Stickers, and Seafood Udon soup. The Udon Soups have a dark savory shoyu/ganjang dashi broth base. Just be careful with the “Spicy” chicken fried rice (it was TOO HOT 🥵 for me). Everything else was delicious, had rich savory flavors in the broths and sweet and spicy flavors in the sauces. Our lunch orders came out to the table promptly and accurately and the wait staff were very kind and attentive. We enjoyed it so much we went back for dinner the following night! If you find this review helpful please hit the ❤️ button 🙏🏻

Google
Luv,luv, luv this place! The wings are amazing! Probably the best in Raleigh! Get the dry rub crunch wings . They are amazing. Also the loaded beef bulgogi fries are sooo good. Really everything that we ordered was delicious . Food can out in a timely manner and everything was hot and fresh! We have a new go to for wings! I would highly recommend

My nephews and I stopped at Bonchon Korean fried chicken for lunch two days ago on a Friday. I had not heard about this restaurant before, but one of my nephews was familiar with it so we went. We just did a walk-in. I don’t know if they accept reservations or not, but we were seated right away. Everyone was pleasant and courteous. Our server was patient and gave us time to peruse the menu before taking our order. We ordered wing plates with fries and also edamame. The edamame was prepared nicely and with the sea salt on top, it really gave it a wonderful flavor. The highlight for me were the wings. I cannot describe in words how great these wings were. They had the right crisp on the outside, moisture and tenderness on the inside, and the flavor was absolutely fabulous! I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely visit again.

Google
Never have tried Korean food until today-so delicious! I loved the Tteokbokki it was so good and satisfied my spicy appetite. I also loved the purple yam mochi. Would highly recommend coming here 😋 Also, our server was so kind and helpful, with blue hair 😊 our most delicious Christmas meal!

Google
Awesome food! Nice place, chill vibes. Also, took good home & reheated the next day and it was still amazing!

Google
Please LIKE & share our reviews. Best chicken ever... This restaurant is very prevalent throughout S Korea. We miss it dearly. When in town we def eat here and order yang yum chicken - spicy & one sweet with a sode of rice & fries. When the food arrives at the table no one talks until it is gone. Lol. It is sooooo good. Koreans frequent this spot because it is legit "Korean style" food.

Yelp
Bonchon is the best KFC (Korean fried chicken) in the triangle hands down. The seasonings and texture are so on point and the chicken is juicy. Simply perfection. Chef's kiss every time. I can't speak to the dine in experience because I've only had takeout from here but it has never disappointed me. Soy garlic and classic are favorites. Corn and fries are decent but nothing special. The corn is notably sweet though which was nice.

Yelp
We tried this place twice now. We had the same server. It was her second day the first time we dined there. She was super sweet and bubbly and a joy to talk to. The first and second time we ordered the Seoul sampler. It included 2 drums, 4 wings, Bulgogi Fries, Pork Potstickers, Korean Street Corn and Coleslaw. The chicken you could Pick your flavor: soy garlic, spicy, Korean bbq, yangnyeom, classic crunchy, or no sauce. The first time we tried the Korean BBQ and the second time we ordered it separately so I tried the soy garlic and one got the spicy and one got the yangnyeom (which was described and spicy & sweet) I did try a bite of the others and my palette is kinda plain and both were too spicy for me. My favorite would have to be the Korean BBQ. The chicken is super crunchy and juicy and really popular. I see so many too go orders and dine in and almost everyone orders the chicken. They have it down to perfection. The corn is delicious, sweet and crunchy and creamy. The coleslaw is super creamy with extra mayo and sweet. The slaw is a very course cut super crunchy. The bulgogi fried were super seasoned meat and delicious. The fries were crunchy and I would order that as an entree by itself. We did also try the pork belly boa buns. I would definitely order these again but maybe try the bulgogi or chicken. We will absolutely return here many times since it's close to our house and the great food.

Yelp
We need Bonchon to open in the South Bay of SoCal! We were able to order authentic Korean Dolsot Bibimbap which was hearty and didnt skimp on the bonchon ingredients. We also ordered the signature CRUNCHY Korean chicken. So delicious and that crunch is addicting! My son was able to order the Korean Chicken sandwich "American" style with fries. This place is popular and it's great if you are with mixed company and there's a little something for everyone. Definitely will be back to try other dishes when we are in town.

Yelp
This food was amazing!! Tasted just like the chicken when I lived in South Korea! I'm definitely coming back.

Yelp
One word. DELICIOUS! Our waitress was amazing. Music was great! As you see we ordered a bunch of different items to share. Everything was delicious. Everything had its own taste. Very flavorful! Had you wanting more!!! Even my picky eater 10 year old loved it too!

Yelp
Bonchon in Raleigh never disappoints. I always have a great time when I go to Bonchon. The food and service are always great. Friendly staff. We got their 10 pc wings, pork buns, and bulgogi fries and they were all so delicious! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
The food for the hype was not as stellar as we had hoped, but overall, we left satisfied. The pricing was a bit high for what you're getting and think they were maybe 15 to 20% Higher than what they should be based on other dining experiences. I totally get the reviews regarding pricing and everything costing more.... e.g. I have a kid with a big appetite, and the children's menu having four boneless wings is just too small of a portion, so we had upsize to a full size of boneless wings which is double the cost of course, but then because she won't eat coleslaw or anything pickled, we wanted to get fries as a substitute side and they refused, which of course added to the bill. It would have been nice to be accommodating so this was irritating. The chicken definitely had a great crunch, however, disappointed in the options of sauce flavors as it was limited. I really love garlic so chose to get the soy and garlic sauce however the soy was extremely heavy handed and made the chicken taste salty. We tried the ice cream just because we were there and after trying three flavors would suggest only the salted caramel for flavor, but very generally, the strawberry and chocolate was pretty flavorless. The drumstick was definitely the highlight of the meal, it was mega

Yelp
The Korean fried chicken with sauce is outstanding. Not so good was the fried rice, tasteless mess. Overall service was fast and restaurant very clean.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been here a few times, have tried a lot of the menu. The chicken is super crispy, freshly cooked & hot temperature wise when you get it. Some of the best fried chicken just by itself. Combine it with the options for sauce and it's perfect. Their Spicy is hotter than most places but not unbearable, just a surprise. I honestly think its because the chicken is steamy and hot temperature wise that makes the spice hit harder, as the next day when you reheat the leftover (servings are HUGE) it's not near as spicy. I've had wings, chicken pieces, Buldak, Bulgogi Fries, Bulgogi Udon, The Bao Buns, all of it is extremely tasty, made very quickly, and they keep the drinks full. Staff is wonderful. Kimchi is great, pickled radish are nice and crunchy / tangy, everything I've had here has been great. Servings are BIG so yeah the prices are higher than you think but when they get there its a ton of food, I've always had leftovers.

Yelp
Delicious food and friendly staff. The fried chicken is to die for, such a crispy bite full of flavor.

Yelp
Great service, welcoming, kind, helpful, all the things. Enjoyed listening to Korean music, since it's Korean Bon Chon after all. Pleased to see they even have locations in Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore and even Bahrain! Sweet! As for the food, I've been to many different Bon Chon restaurants and this one is quite overly breaded, which I didn't enjoy as much. My friends always told me every Bon Chon is independently owned so I guess that explains it. It's still good, but I prefer other locations if I had the choice.
google avatar

Tyrese C.

Yelp
This is my sisters plate I forgot to get a before of mine anyways, the place is good but the seasoning is the sauce unfortunately and their kinda on the expensive side but running a restaurant isn't easy so I understand I recommend the regular fried rice ts was thebomb.com and yk Asians don't play bout being clean so their bathroom was super nice
google avatar

J W.

Yelp
The one in Chapel Hill tastes better to me but overall good food! The service is okay but could be better. I like the vibe of the restaurant, its not loud or overcrowded ever but customer service goes a long way!
google avatar

Kathy W.

Yelp
Really good chicken. We ordered to go combo. The radish is definitely a great add on - making the chicken less greasy. First time trying this place in NC. Very similar to the one I've tried in nyc.

Ann B.

Yelp
I love this restaurant. Their fried chicken is very crunchy. I usually get the sauce on the side so I can use as much as I want. Their Bulgogi is good, but a few too many onions for my taste and not as much meat as I would like. We have also gotten the Bulgogi fried rice and once again not a lot of meat. My favorite item is the fried chicken.
google avatar

Falguni T.

Yelp
I've been to Bonchon before, but I'd not had their friend chicken. This time I went only to try their chicken, and I loved it. Their chicken has a perfectly crispy batter that does not feel heavy or greasy to eat. We got both the spicy and soy garlic flavours. And the flavour was on point. We even got a bottle of strawberry soju. Pretty smooth. The restaurant itself had ample seating and the staff was helpful too. In all, another great experience. Would definitely recommend.
google avatar

Cindy N.

Yelp
We came after lunch rush around 1:45pm and was greeted with friendly staff, quick service and freshly hot food. The staff were very accommodating to our sensory sensitive toddler that needed to be secluded from others. Food were all excellent! Very clean and welcoming! Saw a lot of people dining in and ordering takeout. Would definitely recommend to give them a try!

Yelp
Always crispy fried chicken. The spice levels are fabulous. Very heavy, mains and sides. Only go when you're famished.

Lucas D.

Yelp
sweet jesus. this was the best chicken sandwich i have ever had in my entire life, wanted some authentic korean food though but the chicken really stood out and wow. absolutely delicious, the chicken was so crunchy and so flavorful and the fries were just as good. this is my new favorite chicken spot and i will be coming back
google avatar

Minh H.

Yelp
I have been a fan of Bonchon chicken before they came to Raleigh. Compared to other fast food fried chicken, the pricing is quite competitive and Bonchon is so much better. There are variety of dishes as well. I usually got the medium combo, half & half, and it feeds 4 people. I also like the squid balls as well.
google avatar

Ciara M.

Yelp
Tasty food, friendly experience. Ordered the lunch special; Korean bbq chicken strips and seasoned fries for around $17 something. Good portions!

Dan S.

Yelp
Had medium spicy chicken with steamed rice. Politew, prompt service. Would go again.
google avatar

Iveliss L.

Yelp
The chicken here is super crunchy and flavorful. I've tried the soy garlic, classic crunch, and Korean BBQ--each one is delicious, but the soy garlic is my favorite. Both the wings and drumsticks are a great size, and the bulgogi fries are also tasty. Definitely recommend giving this place a try!
google avatar

Audrie C.

Yelp
Chicken sandwich and fries were disappointing. Chicken on the sandwich is literally paper thin, breading was extremely crisp to the point of being hard. Breading was good but with the lack of chicken, it was basically just a fried sheet of breading. Flavor on the Korean BBQ sauce was good. Coleslaw was not generous and had NO flavor. I ordered seasoned fries. They have this white and green stuff on them, but they have absolutely no flavor. After adding salt, they were fine. The crisp on them was good. Overall this meal was fried to a good crisp, but had a lack of flavor and complete lack of chicken, which is why I bought the sandwich. At $16 after tax, this is a complete ripoff. Service was good and restaurant was clean.

Samantha R.

Yelp
A cute laid back restaurant. You don't need to dress up to go here. The wings were big and crunchy. I had the soy garlic, Korean bbq and their Yangnyeom sauces. They were all pretty tasty, if you're picky just ask for the sauce on the side! The Korean corn dog has not meat in , just keep that in mind but overall really crunchy and you get a good cheese pull. The service was great! Very friendly staff and they give great suggestions.

Myra S.

Yelp
This was my first time a this Bonchon. The inside of the restaurant was clean and nicely appointed. The two young men taking takeout orders were polite and kind, as well as very patient when I needed them to explain the menu and the different flavors. We received our meal promptly, even though it was busy. So, that was much appreciated. I had specifically asked for soy sauce for my two orders of fried rice. I should have checked my order. I know!!! But Jason seemed so professional and competent. I thought he had it under control. I didn't get the SOY SAUCE! Boy, was I mad! I promptly called to ask what were they going to do to make it right. While apologetic, when Jason responded he asked if could come back and get some. I told him I was staying in the Fairfield Inn down the street and could someone be passing by and drop some off. That was not possible. He said we will take care of you the next time you come in. I said I live in New England and don't know if I will ever be back. The food was tasty overall and my husband loved his Spicy Chicken. I just thought when you make a concerted effort to say that this was important. Your request would be taken seriously, especially when you spend over $60 and leave a tip for takeout! Word to the wise...CHECK YOUR BAG BEFORE YOU LEAVE.

Yelp
I always heard great things about Bonchon, but I'm never near one. I was in Raleigh recently around lunchtime, and it was the perfect opportunity to try it! They were BUSY! I only recall seeing 3 tables open when we arrived. Busyness did not prevent the staff from keeping things clean and in order. Although they were busy, meaning a lot of people were also dining in or picking up togo orders, I never felt any chaos. (I hope that makes sense.) I see why everyone loves it! Now I love it! And I wish I lived closer because I've been wanting more. I got the lunch special with half Yangnyeom & half Korean BBQ plus fries. I do not know how they get the chicken so crispy, but it's perfect. Even when I warmed my togo plate up 2 days later, it was still crunchy, not soggy like typical rewarmed chicken. My favorite was the Yangnyeom sauce. Everyone we interacted with was kind. I told the waitress it was our first time, so she explained what different menu items were to help us with ordering. I am looking forward to going back whenever I'm in the area.
google avatar

Dana E.

Yelp
Went to eat here tonight. I have never had Korean food and it was soooo good. The service was good as well. Food was a bit slow coming but worth the wait. We ordered one of the spiciest meals on the menu and it is not for the faint of heart. Was very spicy, but not so much that it ruined the food. Many great flavors in the meal. The waitress was very interested in how we liked the meal because she had been wanting to try it, but felt it may be too spicy. She suggest the chicken wings the next time we came with the Korean barbecue sauce.
google avatar

Kimberly R.

Yelp
Part of my online order was the strip stash combo. Well I got home to find I didn't have any strips. Live too far away to go back. They need to have someone to check orders before bagging them up.
google avatar

Falan E.

Yelp
Friendly, welcoming, professional staff. Clean, comfortable, and well-lit. The service is super fast. The entire staff here is attentive and welcoming to all customers. I dined at the bar. I ordered the a small chicken entree and zucchini fries. Everything was delicious. I was not expecting so much food for so little cost. I took the leftovers home. So much food!
google avatar

Jeff F.

Yelp
I probably ordered the wrong thing here, I didn't want to mess with messy wings so I got the chicken sandwich. It came with fries but no drink for $14. I guess I had expected it to be the best chicken sandwich I've had, but it was pretty lackluster to say the least. For one I thought it would have a crispy coating, but the coating was mushy, perhaps because it had been coated in a sauce. I think Popeyes chicken sandwich is a hundred times better than this for a fraction of the price. Also the French fries tasted old, like they had been sitting around under a heat lamp for a while. My last complaint about this place is it's basically a fast food restaurant that they have set up for table service, So of course I had to tip the server which brought my very disappointing lunch to $20. I don't think I would be back, but I would consider trying their wings maybe they are much better than the sandwich. And I definitely would skip the fries next time.
google avatar

Roger K.

Yelp
I'm not even gonna lie, these are some of the most solid chicken wings in the area! I do wish they were a tad bit bigger but a solid wing for sure. With a simple menu, everything they have to offer is delicious. Great staff and even better location!
google avatar

Aidalis V.

Yelp
While it was great to find a Bonchon in NC I wished the flavors and portions were consistent with prior experiences. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, but having experienced Bonchon many times before moving to NC I was expecting the same flavors. Any way, the service was great, staff was taking care of us and everyone else very well and in a timely manner. The ambience was nice, enjoyable. There was plenty of room so customers did not feel cramped in a small space. If ever in the vicinity I would just but the chicken which had great flavors as well as a nice crunch to it.
google avatar

Lil B.

Yelp
Usually come here around 11-12pm for there fried wings and beer. Always buzzed by the time I'm out but wings here a solid 7/10. Love the crunch to it and fries are good as well. I will say there spicy wings had me overthinking that one time but it's been a minute, might have to pull up for some wings. Beers could be better but does the trick Service is good for sure and atmosphere feels legit

Sabrina W.

Yelp
I ordered take out Chicken was cold, not crispy and just plain sloppy. Upon calling the restaurant to voice my experience, they had the GAUL to tell me they had no record of my order, even after I shared several store identifiers from the bill. Never Again
google avatar

Wilton B.

Yelp
The food was excellent! I got 10 strips and House Fried Rice with chicken. And I enjoy every bit of it. I tried to finish it all there but, that was not happening. I had to take the rest home and enjoyed it the next day. I forgot to take a picture of my food. Because, I was ready to eat when it arrived at my table. Oh yeah! The environment is a nice vibe for getting food with your significant other or hanging out with friends.

Mathew M.

Yelp
Unfortunately my dine in experience at Bonchon recently was very disappointing. It was just two of us and when we were sat, we waited over 15 minutes until our server came to us. Now i would have understood since it was a bit busy but it was even more frustrating when the people next to us who got sat after us had got attended almost immediately. On top of the poor service, I later found out I was wrongly charged almost $60 when we had only ordered the $40 deal for two. Other than that, the food is amazing and exactly what it looks like in the picture but I don't think i'll be dining in again after this awful experience.
google avatar

Danny F.

Yelp
The food was delicious and was prepared quickly. The boneless wings were great and I'd also recommend the seasoned fries. The restaurant is very clean and the staff were very friendly. My server was very attentive and just so pleasant. I would definitely recommend coming here.
google avatar

Ashley P.

Yelp
I love everything about Bonchon! Food comes out relatively quick. & it always hot and tastes amazing! One of my go to places.

Michael H.

Yelp
"Soo cafe"has far better wings than bonchon and are not stingy with their sauce. At Soo cafe your wings will actually be covered with sauce and then some and are crispier. And greater portions.
google avatar

Samantha B.

Yelp
Upon walking in i was greeted by very a nice hostess. I was quickly seated and then approached by my server. I asked for a water that I never received and an order of fried rice. I ate half my food and my server never came back. He was walking around to a couple of other tables but it was not busy inside. The fried rice itself was okay. Could have used a bit more of a salt factor and some more character but it was good as a baseline.
google avatar

Hannah F.

Yelp
I love bonchon!! Wether you get your fried chicken spicy or not, it taste AMAZING! I HIGHLY recommend the Korean bbq and the garlic flavor fried chicken if you get half and half. Service is also great and fast, I get my food rather quickly. If I could ask to change anything, I'd ask for the sides for the chicken to be a better variety. Pickled radish and coleslaw are the options. Great chicken tho!

Porsha F.

Yelp
The ambiance and staff are very friendly at this location for starters. I ordered the lunch special and while the wings are flavor they a way too big. The outside crunch was amazing and the meat was cooked but tue skin is extremely gooey, slimy, and wet which made the me feel like the meat was uncooked. Maybe get smaller wings because the wetness of the skin made me gag while eating lunch. Wings shouldn't be the same size as a drumsticks.
google avatar

Sandra W.

Yelp
Whenever I have a chance to host a gathering, I will always order from Bonchon. This Bonchon on Capital allows for you to call in your order and also order online (the best way IMO). And it'll be ready within 45 mins depending on the rush hour. It's a mix of sweet and garlic, with a beautiful crunch. And the chicken wings are hearty sizes so you feel like you're getting your dollars worth :) the drumsticks are bigger than the wings so be aware when you order them. I haven't sat in the restaurant yet, but I have ordered from this location at least 3x already and will plan on ordering from here again!

Bella L.

Yelp
As recommended by another reviewer I ordered my 10 wings "half and half" so i could try two different sauces (Soy garlic and Korean BBQ.) It came with a side of cole slaw and was ready within 5 minutes. The wings were large and meaty; fried to a lovely crisp with exactly the right amount of sauce (flavorful but not dripping wet.) Both sauces were satisfying and the coleslaw was a nice crunchy side. I thought it was a good value and the only thing that failed to impress was the packaging for the chicken. The box was soggy by the time i got home, I would definitely come here again for tasty take out
google avatar

Rafael B.

Yelp
Our firtst time in Bonchon. Great service, super clean, awesome food, very good Mojitos. Loved the place.

Tj K.

Yelp
The bulgogi cheesy rice was relatively average. We also got some soy garlic and bbq bone-in wings that were very good.
google avatar

Stacy Y.

Yelp
Delicious! Extra crispy, spicy wings! If you want wings, this is your joint. Flavorful rice cakes with fried, nori wrapped rice in a spicy broth. Mmm. Great service. Worth the wait!
