They fell off I used to order from them in 2017 and they were so good and now this year I ordered from them a few times and every time I order my food was hard and burnt and I couldn’t get it because it was so hard and I ask them not to cook it to hard and it still was hard and burnt the last picture is what they display how they chicken looks the other pictures is what I received a I used to love this restaurant not no more

Ordered here many times with no problem. completely dry questionable looking flavorless chicken, balls of mushy-overcooked AND UNDERCOOKED RICE for 65 dollars. I don’t know how that is physically possible but 🤷‍♂️. The rice was so bad it was inedible.

Love coming here on Mondays/Tuesdays for the dollar wings they offer, they are full of flavor and are pretty big considering the cost. The soy garlic wings are amazing, they have a savory sweet soy flavor profile that’s so good I could order only these and be satisfied. The Korean bbq was pretty good as well, it had a sweeter taste with a light kick. The original was very crispy and had a pleasant seasoning. Every piece of chicken was crispy and juicy with lots of meat. Highly recommend!

Just had a quick lunch with my husband for the $1 wings and it was great. They were very helpful, kind, and patient despite being busy and got everything out to us very quickly. Foods great too love the spicy sauce. I know there's other locations but the service alone here makes me want to come back just for them. Hamza you run a great team!

Review: I had the worst experience at this place. I spent $70, and it was absolutely not worth it. The service was rushed, even though the restaurant was completely empty—it was 8 PM, and I still felt like I had no time to think about my order. As for the food, the strips I got were practically scraps—barely any sauce, dried out to a crisp, and completely inedible. For the price I paid, the quality was unacceptable. This place is seriously overrated, and I won’t be coming back.

Food is delicious my favorite dish I ordered was the chicken the crunch was on point. The customer service was excellent the cashier Ashley explained the sauces to me. She checked on me to make sure I was okay with my meal. Keep up the good work

Firstly I would like to state I have been at this store before and enjoyed the food. This last visit was horrible and the food quality was terrible. I placed an order online and came in promptly to pick it up at the stated time. I was made to wait an extra 15 minutes when there was only one other group who was eating their food already. I ordered a ten piece soy garlic strips and chicken fried rice. The chicken was disgusting, they were like scraps of hardened chicken that were fried to death and had the sauce slopped on. Completely inedible. The rice was underdone and had like a whole red pepper in the rice. Total waste of 35 dollars.

This is the best restaurant i ever got chicken from the texture is great and the pork bao buns was delicious the coleslaw hit the spot ... the customer service was great. the $1 wings came in handy when your on a budget .. the lady in front name was Ashley told me that on mondays and tuesdays that the wings will be $1 and I was so happy. Great Service and made me feel welcome surely will be seeing me soon.

Delicious and crunchy sweet and spicy tenders. Very quick service. Highly recommend. Will definitely order again.

I haven't been here in couple years. Do remember it being good initially but honestly I have to say they fell off. It's not as flavorful as I remember I had the small serving of wings with soy garlic sauce. The crunch was there but the flavor not so much. Definitely disappointed. I hope they can do better in the future because I really do enjoy Korean fried chicken and want businesses like them to continue to succeed. I make my own spicy mayo at home to add some heat to it. And the pickled radishes were delicious as always. I'll stop by again in the future and hopefully it's better. They served my food very quickly and the restaurant was clean with plenty of seating. I would order ahead before you go so you don't have to wait and parking is a little tough bc union center has plenty of traffic going through it so be aware.

I had ordered Korean barbecue chicken sandwich. First time taste. It was amazing. Delivery was good. Presentation of the food was better than a lot of places that I've been to as for the ambience. I haven't been there, but looking forward to going.

WE LOVE BONCHON! We usually only ever get the soy garlic chicken wings but this time I wanted to order some other dishes to try. First off, we love the chicken, always crispy but also smothered and covered with that yummy soy garlic sauce. This time we also got the seasoned fries which was yummy with the dipping sauce provided. I ordered the Japchae with bulgogi and I have never tried this dish before. Well I am in love with the. I love bulgogi always but these noodles were just so good. We also got tteokbokki. It's was cheesy and spicy. It was tasty but I could only have a few bites at a time. Everything was delicious and we will continue ordering from them.

Tacos are delish!! Workers are pleasant. I plan on trying some of the other menu items.

Bonchon has a special place in my heart as the introduction to the world of Korean fried chicken. Like many chains in Jersey, I used to look at this store as a novelty until it gained popularity and locations popped up everywhere. Similarly, Korean fried chicken (thankfully) became prevalent and other chains appeared nearby. I've been to this particular location of Bonchon throughout the years and have always had a good experience! The staff are always friendly and willing to help. The shop itself is super clean and has some eye catching art. I was particularly fascinated by the picture outlining what year Bonchon appeared in a new country. After trying various Korean fried chicken in New Jersey and New York, I still love Bonchon even though it's not my go to place. I would like more crispness in the chicken skin to balance the sauciness of the soy garlic. However, I think the chicken is affordable and cheaper than some other chains. The wings were also a decent size with plenty of meat on the bone. I usually only get chicken, but I recently got the seasoned zucchini fries, which were perfection! My only grievance was that there wasn't enough sauce for the entire basket of fries. I'm thankful that the Union Bonchon has stayed consistent in quality throughout the years, and has satisfied my craving for Korean fried chicken in the area!

A co-worker recommended this place for lunch weeks ago, and we finally made it. Soooo good. A small venue on Stuyvesant Ave in Union (one of the main streets). There is street parking, if you can find it, & back lot parking & you'll have to walk around the corner. It's a no frills place, with tables & chairs for dining in. Service was quick, food prep time was about what was expected. The food was very good. We had the Korean Fried Wings: Soy Garlic flavor, Bulgogi Fries, & Pork Buns. All were excellent, & this place will definitely be on the go-to list while at work. The only major downside is their drink selection is the absolute bare minimum. Your choices are Water, Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Ginger Ale, & Sprite. The drink fridge looked sad, as it had more cold food items stored in it, than drinks. I placed an online order, and my scheduled pick-up time was 30 minutes ago. I'm not sure when my order will be ready. It seems that the staff is having difficulty meeting the time targets and communicating effectively with customers about revised expectations after missing the initial pick-up time. I walked to an adjoining store and purchased fresh donuts. I received them in 15 minutes, but my Bonchon order still isn't ready. I was told it would be ready in 10. I'm watching the clerk play on their phone and casually tell me my order isn't ready yet. We are now a full 47 minutes past when my order was supposed to be ready. If you want bonchon...this spot probably isn't the place you want to come to.

Food is disgusting. Ordered wings and they were salty and over cooked. Corn was like a butter soup. They also messed up my order. I ordered half and half soy/yeongyam and they only gave me soy. I also placed two orders of pickled radish and they did not give me any. If you're craving fried chicken, I recommend looking elsewhere. There are much better options in the area for Korean fried chicken both in quality and price.

I love Bonchon generally, but this particular location not so much. First of all, when you walk in (we came on a Saturday evening), no one was sitting inside to eat. The place didn't look inviting at all, and people were solely there for takeout. It wasn't unclean and the staff was kind, but the tables are far apart and the place just looks uninviting and sterile. We purchased Medium-sized Wings (20 pcs) and omg the spicy one was sooo spicy. My fiancee and I can handle spicy but that was very, very spicy. We also purchased a Bull Dak, and let me tell you, it was SO SMALL. NOT worth $16. It was basically one cup of rice and one cup of spicy rice cakes, very not worth it. It was also very, very spicy. The total came out to ~$46, and we wished we had went elsewhere.

Visited Bonchon Novembper 8 in Union NJ and unfortunately,it didn't live up the hype for me I found it lacking in several areas the chicken legs were way to big and greasy tasteless tI ordered pork belly buns the pork was dry yo small it had no flavor the buns was cold not hot at all the kimchi was cold flavorless the only good on the list I can't complain about was the hot Korean twisted donut I really expected more to add to the disappointment the restaurant was short staffed on a friday night it also was crowded ,my first time experience here wasn't great it didn't meet my expectations.

We usually order from here once in awhile, mainly for the chicken & rice dishes. The kids have been liking their pork buns as well. Unfortunately, for this visit, I put in two orders of the pork buns & was very disappointed. Whoever assembled them skimped on everything - from the veggies to the pork belly, which was very small & burnt as it can be seen in the photo. For about $12 for 3 pork buns (x2), you would think more effort would be put into it.

The Korean barbecue is delicious. It takes them a bit to prepare the food but it's well worth the wait.

The chicken meal is great. The zucchini chips are perfect. Go next door and get some bubble tea from Kung Fu tea.

This Bonchon location has the WORST service. Who ever is working the front sucks!!! I'm with my co-workers and we been standing here waiting to order for damn near 15 mins. She's still here trying to pack one order that's not even ready yet. Why won't she start taking our orders.. the lady with black and blond hair with glasses that's working 10/21/24 at 2pm need to be fired!!!! We're walking out without even ordering.. this is the 3rd time we stopped by here, thinking it's just the workers on different schedules, but I guess not!!! They all need new training or a new manager to manage them... FUCK Bonchon at Union, NJ. (BONCHON IN NUTLEY, NJ IS WAY BETTER)

Food was what is expected of a Bonchon. The interior of the restaurant is setup for carry out orders. The ambiance seems pretty dead here with very few patrons staying in here to eat. My fiancé and i ordered the Buldak chicken and the fried chicken. We've had bonchon in nyc at the ktown location and the chelsea location but it's truly not the same.

The service was excellent. The restaurant was clean and inviting. It was bit the best Korean chicken I had ever eaten. The flats were not as Krispy as the wingettes and the coleslaw was bland, the French Fries were probably the crispiest things eaten this meal.

Ordered soy garlic sliders I wish I could give a zero. The buns were burnt , gave me three of the tiniest pieces of chicken. As well as dry. Not worth the price . Highly disappointed

Ordered some wings for delivery to fulfill our Korean fried chicken craving! We got the pork buns and 20pc boneless wings with half soy garlic and half spicy. The wings arrived hot and delicious! The soy garlic ones are a classic and were my favorite. The spicy wings were tasty but also had a BIG kick to them. If you have a low spice tolerance, I would definitely avoid the spicy flavored wings! The pork buns tasted good but were not my favorite. They were very saucy and sweet and not worth the price in my opinion.

The food is salty. The chicken wings had no meat. The chicken Katsu is not chewable. I was regretted I went there. Bon Chon shall discontinue their license. If not, everyone thinks their taste is like this.

the service here is terrible the worker lets people get food before us and there restaurant doesn't have soy sauce and the food takes about 30 minutes to come out not a very good experience

The food is great when you actually get it. I waited 30 minutes for my order after talking with the cashier, she told me she just put the order in. Waited another 20 minutes before canceling my order( all I got was tacos). I think the food is great, but the service needs to improve. This is my second incident at this location.

The restaurant is large, but there aren't many seats for dining in, perhaps due to COVID. I placed my order in store and waited about 15 minutes for it. Food was up to usual bonchon standard. Staff was nice.

Bomb ass chicken wings! I may or may not have driven across town specifically just to have the wings. Yes, they're that good. No, I'm not dragging it lol.

Unfortunately, the quality of this place really went down. Chicken is quite dry. There seems to be no distinction between the strips and boneless, either that or they messed up the order every time we get them. Imo, the worst offense is that the plain option is literally plain, I'm talking about not even a lick of salt plain. The lunch special is a decent deal though so would be the best time to try them. The fries are quite good, they have that flaky coating similar to Popeyes style of fries. Nonetheless, a chicken place should be known for having good chicken above good fries.

Alert raw fried chicken!! I ordered drumsticks here and it was not cooked properly. I tried to reach out but the phone goes to automated message saying use the website. I write complaint issue on the website but no reply. I love their chicken and many others do too. I understand they get busy but cannot send out raw chicken to customers. I will not go back. Please be aware to check the chicken inside before eating or you will enjoy the rare fried chicken

The only reason I wouldn't give this a 5 rating is simply because they forgot to include the kimchi in my order. I was quite disappointed in that because I was so looking forward to having some. However as far as the wings go -- they did NOT disappoint. Wasn't honestly expecting the spicy wings to hit me like that (I'm generally good with real spicy food) but this just hit in a different way. Totally cleared up my sinuses! Go check them out

OMG! I have eaten from their other locations but this place is the worst!!! The chicken is dry dry dry dry! The batter is so so so so thick, you spend so much time chewing that the flavor is lost. For this I could have gone to Popeye's, KFC or some random Chinese fast food and got chicken wings, then just added the spicy sauce or soy garlic myself!!! Really horrible. What happened to this place? Down the drain. This is the last time I'll spend my money here. Don't bother reporting this or reviewing it because you will get so sort of random robot reply. Do not bother trying or visiting this place. You will regret it and waste your money. If you have a crown or caps on your teeth- be careful not to lose it. You've been warned!!!

If you're looking for a fine dinning experience this isn't the location. I stop in for the same two/three items: bulgogi rice, wings and occasionally the buns. When you aren't in the mood for overly processed fast food, bonchon wings hit the spot. A few things to note, do not bother calling. Either your card won't work or they don't answer at all. Take out providers up the price a bit but to me it's worth it since their online system does not offer all the items. Staff is always kind and helpful. Food is always hot, crispy and perfectly sauced. Rice has great flavor and borderline salty but good none the less.

There is a young lady who has an attitude about her there that is unpleasant. it seems as if questions asked of her are beneath the ability or time for her to answer. I thought this was odd the first time I visited this location, let alone the second time. I've never had this experience anywhere else. I now have come here for a second time and will never ever set foot in this location again because of her demeanor and service towards customers. She's rude, dismissive, and doesn't care.

Tried this place twice, lesson learned. Poorly run as far as getting orders ready. They place a big precedent on take out orders, if you walk in and order, be prepared to wait much longer than you need to. The food is good, not great, but Spicy isn't very spicy at all. Both times I went they didn't have items that you would expect them to. I watched guys working in the kitchen for 40 minutes and watched people walking in and out picking up food and I kept getting 5 more minutes.. Which is a nice way of saying" we have no idea" If you want to try, order ahead. But be prepared to wait. No complaints about the staff though, counter staff was really nice and apologetic

I can't believe that the closest BonChon to me is all the way in Union, 30 mins away... There needs to be one closer because Korean Fried chicken is the bomb!! I came to this BonChon in Union for the first time. Looks like just a take out place but you can dine there too. They were a bit understaffed as one waitress went around to take orders from 5 different tables. If you're going to order the fried chicken, order as soon as possible because that takes the longest to prepare (about a half hour). The fried chicken is what they're known for and it is absolutely delicious!! Other items we ordered were the udon noodle soup, the fries with spicy mayo, and the spicy chicken tacos. The fries with the mayo was pretty great - yummy appetizer that compliments the chicken. The udon was okay but not worth it ordering from BonChon... It just wasn't anything special. The chicken tacos were pretty good, but hear me out, go for the fried chicken!!! That is all.

Ok so I'm giving Bonchon chicken another try. This time my chicken was actually fully cooked TG. But why is the service to dine in so horrible. . I come in I ask can I sit anywhere they tell me yes. Nobody comes to the table to give me a menu or nothing. So I walk up & get my own menu. . Now I'm just sitting there like over 10 minutes waiting for these horrible waitresses. Omg

I absolutely love Korean wings, so I was super excited when I saw this spot open in the area. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. These wings are nothing compared to the Korean wings I've had from other restaurants.the chicken to breading ratio was disturbing. There was barely any meat on the pieces that I had and I honestly hate to leave negative reviews like this but I just couldn't believe it. The sauce was okay though, I got a mild. For the high price you pay (more expensive than the average Korean wings spot) I expected to be amazed but truly I wasn't. They also didn't offer much of a variety of wing flavors. Teriyaki sauce is now on the menu so might go back to try it. Hopefully, there is an improvement on the quality of the wings used.

10 out of 10!!! Amazing, delicious scrumptious. It was too good to be true. Quick service I was told 10 minutes and came out in 2 amazing. The environment was so clean and calm and the workers were so sweet and friendly. Add this to your list ASAP

Other than the friendly cashier, this place is BAD. Aside from being dirty and smelling musty in the hallway/ bathrooms, food is barely edible. We are Korean and this is probably the worst Korean chicken experience, EVER! Everything is doused with too much soy sauce! The chicken pieces are tiny and overfried, again too SALTY! We ordered a bi-bim bap; it was pathetic! So much rice with a bit of iceberg lettuce, sprouts saturated in soy sauce, and weird mushrooms again coated with soy sauce. I saw this place open several years ago, and I did not think it would be very authentic. Instead of driving further for real Korean chicken, we decided to try it out, but it was a waste of money and taste buds.

Pick up the phone! I ordered delivery via Uber and tried to call to request a change to my order. I called 6 times and it rang for at least a minute non stop. I had to call my delivery guy to talk to them for me! I would never order from this place unless I was at the restaurant. The wings and seasoned fries are my go-to. It's good, and definitely worth getting the lunch special. I am pretty torn between both sauces, but soy garlic wins by an inch. It is sort of hit and miss with the amount of sauce (plus can be a bit salty sometimes), but I never had a bad meal. The food is 3.5 stars, but after the most aggravating half hour in recent memory it's a solid 2 stars

So I decided to check this place out... located in Union Center. Parking is street or there is a parking lot noted behind the building Inside was more spacious than I would have thought. Tables were dressed up with table settings. The only thing is that the floor was sticky and made noise when walking on it. So this place has a lot of photos of the wings etc... I decided not to try the wings because I'm not a wing girl. I don't like eating off bones that much so honestly I don't do wings justice( in general) I decided to try the salmon avocado ball. This place is cook to order so you may wait 10-15mins for your food - which is not a bad thing. The food was decent - I ended up sharing it. Comes with spicy mayo on the side. This place is a BYOB as well. I may return to try the bulgogi . We shall see

Eh, I love bonchon but this place is always horrible with their service. we always end up waiting a good 30minutes to hour for our food and the tables are always dirty when we arrive-given there's always only one person working (HIRE MORE PEOPLE). Food is good though when it does come out (and I know it says it takes 30 minutes to prepare the food since it's fresh, but still... because it takes about 10 minutes for them to notice us, we're usually here for a good hour and half to two hours to sit, order, and eat). Parking also sucks because there's only street parking available so just overall, this place isn't the best choice or even my top choice to go to for bonchon.

If I could have given a ZERO I would have I love the flavor of BonChon and have eaten at various locations. And after spending $100 on chicken and tacos you should at least be able to enjoy some of the food. So not only was the food like wood the taste was horrid. Then to top it off the manager had a disgusting attitude. She acted as if we were lying but the pictures speak for themselves. I've never experienced anything like her before. When I am in the area, I make an effort to stop in and get my Korean fried chicken fix (I migrated to South Jersey). I must say that the quality of the food had gone down, as well as the portion sizes. My husband and I ordered the Chicken fried rice, Japchae, and an order of Soy Garlic boneless wings. For starters, the portions of rice and Japchae were smaller than usual. Not to say that I can't afford to miss a portion or two, but unfortunately, the prices did not adjust with the size. And the CHICKEN! Ugh! Such a huge disappointment. It was so overcooked, the outer crust flaked off in large sections, leaving behind a flavorless, dry product. I struggled to eat it since I had already spent my money, but even that proved to be a harrowing feat. I focused on not choking instead of savoring the food. Ultimately, I tossed it in the garbage after eating only 2 pieces out of 10. If I wasn't already halfway down the NJ Turnpike, I would have gone back and asked for a refund (for the chicken).The other stuff was okay. I am on the fence about going back since there has been a steady decline on more than one occasion. I might just bite the bullet and go to the Philadelphia location. I'm still a fan of BonChon, but the Union restaurant was definitely underwhelming in my opinion.

I love Korean food, and Bonchon has decent fried chicken and Tteokbokki which I love. Have been ordering food from them for few years, and I know it usually takes them awhile to prepare food. I started to order online and also through app recently. Today I ordered by app, and the pickup time was 7:55pm. I arrived at 8:00pm and was told that my order was not ready. Waited for 15 minutes and I started to get annoyed. Checked with the same staff member, and even showed him my email confirmation so he knows exactly my name and items ordered. I asked him to check a particular bag that was sitting there since I arrived, but was told it's not mine. Went back to him probably 2 more times for the next 15 minutes, still not ready. Now I am really losing it. Decided to check with a different lady staff, and she confirmed the bag sitting there for 30 minutes was mine. I was mad, but didn't take it out on the girl because she didn't do anything wrong. While walking out of the restaurant, I spotted the only one male staff who gave me the wrong information the whole time, and he did not even apologized, showing the attitude that he didn't do anything wrong. Very disappointed at his service. That was such a fundamental element to be able to identify customer orders as a server, and he failed miserably. I understand anyone could have a bad day and can't get the order right, but the careless and can't own up your mistakes are not forgivable.

I cant believe how freaking awesome these wings are. Good meat on the bone, great flavor in the sauce and great spiciness. Only reason why I'm not giving 5 stars is the fried rice didn't pack much flavor. The seasoned fries had good flavor as well. When I want wings, this has become my new go to!!

There is parking in the back. The soy garlic wings are amazing. The spicy wings are hot! There is spaced out tables to eat in. Take out is the better option during COVID. 10 pc half and half, small bobchon combo comes with 9 pics of chicken and pickled radish, small fry, and fried rice with Bulgogi totaled $47. Combos do not include a drink as an FYI. Overall, it was some pretty decent fried Korean chicken.
